Hands Down- Also by Mariana Zapata: Football (wasn’t my favorite but still quite good)
Books with athletic romance
These are only the books that I have read so far this year containing this theme.
The Off-Campus series by Elle Kennedy: Hockey players
The Deal, The Mistake, The Score, The Goal
The first 3 were by far the best.
From Lukov with Love- Mariana Zapata: Figure Skaters (amazing 10/10)
The Cheat Sheet- Sarah Adams: Football/Ballet (fake dating, friends to lovers)

First Position by Melissa Brayden
My favorite read of 2021!!
Summary:
Anastasia Mikhelson is the rising star of the New York City Ballet. She’s sacrificed a social life, relationships, and her own physical health for perfection in dance. Though Ana tries not to be distracted by the new stunning soloist, she soon sees that’s not possible. Meanwhile, Natalie has just been offered a chance to dance for the NYC Ballet, far outside her comfort zone of a mixed dance style show directed and starred in by herself. Their paths cross, and will they be able to look through their animosity towards each other, realize their true feelings, and succeed?
Opinion/review: Light spoilers.
This book was fabulous! As a ballet dancer myself, I understood both of their drives toward perfection in every way, even when enduring extreme physical pain. I’m also bisexual, so I thought it was really cute that their story was so close to mine. Ana and Natalie were amazing and I loved them so much, their love story was gorgeous and gorgeously written, and all of the other side characters were very well written and interesting. Overall, it was an extremely short book compared to what I’m used to, but definitely my favorite out of 2021. I recommend if you:
-dance
-are lgbtq
-are a professional ballerina
But most importantly, like to read an amazing story about how 2 girls achieved, restructured, and worked together to find their dreams.

i'm never getting over the fact that romance as a genre, as the HIGHEST selling genre, exists largely because straight women fantasise about being loved and treated kindly by men and men constantly make fun of this because they think it's just that unrealistic that they could cherish women and that women are stupid in the first place for wanting such an impossible thing

I’m watching Criminal Minds and when Reid starts talking really passionately about something everyone always tells him to be quiet and…no? I want to know how many people live in the city and county of Los Angeles and all of the other random facts he talks about. then I get sad bc nobody listens to what he’s passionate about 😭

With pride month coming up I want to remind everyone that bisexuals, asexuals, those who are intersex, genderfluid and those who are transgender absolutely get to celebrate pride just as much as anyone else. It’s LGBTQIA+ not just the letters that are convenient. LG ain’t the community, that’s a bloody tech company.

I forgot the best part: directly before, her crush had walked over and given her a rainbow loom lesbian flag bracelet and she told me she’s never taking it off and I ship them so much.
One of my friends is an acesexual lesbian and we and we had the “birds and the bees” talk today, and obviously it was just straight people talking and after she walked over to me and said with a completely straight face “wow that was so informative and helpful” and then we all started laughing.
