The UNSC Sword Of Mercy division

The UNSC Sword Of Mercy division, or S.O.M.D for short is an experimental testing spartan 4 squad. The squad was formed when the UNSC Chimera, Bloodeye, Tigris and Aegis projects were merged due to a lack of funding, creating the Swords in the process. The Squad consists of Spartans Charles, a former UNSC ODST captain and now the leader of the Squad, Diná, Former scientist from the UNSC Tigris program, Nello, of the former Bloodeye division for reprogramming and researching banished technology recovered from battle and Magnus, picked from the successful Chimera operation and is the last surviving member of his platoon in the chimera operation, prompting his move into S.O.M.D

Each member of the team will have a lengthened bio and their own post soon!

Sooooo, I’ve come up with something which I’m gonna implement on my blog with my next set of posts, I’m going to make non canon fireteams and spartan companies with bullshit lore bc it’s fun and I can’t just wait for a new armour to come out to do a post. I’ll make them based on each armour core and they will each have a different number of Spartans, each named, which fulfill different roles in a squad!

Anyway, I've been sitting on this idea for a little bit of crossing the Bad Batch with the Covenant from Halo (I know, shocker). With the new season dropping soon and the trailer just coming out, I figured this would the perfect time to share this!

I tried picking species we saw in Halo that matched each Batch member. I didn't include Omega because I couldn't pick a species that fit her :') (Maybe she's their human pet)

Hornet

The hornet is probably my favourite vehicle in the halo universe, I loved playing the missions where it gets used in halo 3. I find its design to be a pretty perfect balance of futuristic technology that seems possible and realistic military design, I especially liked it’s ability to carry extra troops which modern halo aircraft’s don’t normally do in such an interesting fashion

The AV-14 Hornet is a VTOL capable aircraft in service since at least 2524, during the Insurrection. It served all the way into the Human-Covenant War from the Battle for Arcadia to the Battle of Installation 00.

The Hornet is often the mainline UNSC aircraft, that can carry two passengers and can hover in place over areas.

The most analogous vehicle to the Hornet is the Falcon, seen during the events Halo: Reach. It acts as the mainline UNSC air that game as well and features dual gunner seats. In-game versions can carry more passengers and some have a pilot-controlled main gun.

Eaglestrike armour core

The eaglestrike core has a really cool design language but I’ve always struggled to make something cool with it because of its barrel shaped chest, I’ll have to wait incase they add more pieces for it

Lore

During development, the Eaglestrike core was named Iron Eagle.

The base EAGLESTRIKE helmet's design is based on the SHINOBI-class Mjolnir helmet, albeit simplified, featuring a near identical visor design, while removing the Shinobi helmet's distinctly east-Asian elements, including the frontal crest.

Mirage IIC armour core

Sorry for not posting halo stuff, was too busy being Santa for my wife and three kids, also merry Christmas!

The mirage IIC armour has some weird proportions I think, idk what it is but there’s something kinda off about it maybe the arms or the shoulders. Nevertheless it looks awesome with the right person customising it, once I finish the season three pass I’ll change up this armour but for now I don’t really have all that much customisation items. Hope you all enjoy.🙏

Lore

In-keeping with the theme of cost-effectiveness, the Mirage IIC builds on the foundation of the GEN1 Mirage and Semi-Powered Infiltration armor program. Some helmets compromise the full range of GEN3 capabilities, this significantly reduces their cost, complexity, and the augmentation requirements of the operator. All this results in a multi-role powered assault armor that meets baseline GEN3 Mjolnir standards. Mirage IIC's reactor is built into the techsuit, being covered by the chestpiece.

MIRAGE IIC helmets compromise the full range of GEN3 capabilites to significantly reduce cost, complexity, and operator augmentation requirements compared to the Mark VII baseline
