Rejection. It's never a good thing, but it's a necessary evil that you must face when putting yourself out there as an artist. It's especially hard when the story you are telling is so deeply personal and coming from a real place. It's taken me months after being rejected by a publisher to want to go back to my story, "Cojones!", because I felt that sting of defeat. I let it beat me. No matter how much I was denying that I felt defeated. Maybe it was something inside me? Maybe it was God? Or maybe it was faith in myself and my ability, but I want to push on and finish this comic. To tell this story and share this piece of me with the world. I only hope the world is ready.

I am very familiar with this area. In 2005 my brother received a heart transplant at the very hospital those poor people caught in the shootings were taken to. I'm so sick of the gun violence in this country. I keep hearing that Obama is destroying this country. The truth is that our old ideals are what's destroying this country. Drop the guns and pick up a book. Hug your kid. Kiss your partner. Peace and love are the cure. Not more weapons.

BREAKING: Mass shooting reported in San Bernardino, California

Shooting erupted at a public golf course in San Bernardino, California, on Wednesday, local authorities reported. According to a tweet from the San Bernardino Fire Department, the shooting, which happened in the 1300 block on S. Waterman, involved at least 20 victims, including some fatalities. RIP to Shigeru Mizuki, godfather of modern day yokai as we know it. His knowledge and passion about yokai can not only be seen in his manga, but as well as his role as consultant on films and anime. It must have been great for him to see a reinvigorated love for yokai in his country thanks to things like #youkaiwatch being so popular.
