2013 Project Mask
Quite a symbolic piece rather than very literal. I was quite into working symbols and symbolism with a hopefully clear message.
I made this back in 2013, Check it out below! : D

2014 Short Film Trapped
Based on Hal from Space Odyssey; this neat little film plays with the main characters mind, and has a secret need for humans. But where does it end..... or lead?
I made this film back in 2014 for a Media Studies project at High School, enjoy : D

Poem #3
I sit to watch a plant
I feel the breeze blowing
I sense a kind of enchant
A sense of peaceful flowing
But Ballarat falls through a
chill calls new crucifixion
A tasteless touch of wind a
A bitter sea affliction
Why cant all days be better?
Why cant all days bring a letter?
The simple solution of a sweater?
When im happy to be a debtor!?
A simple shaft of light.
But now does it smite?

"Buy Buy Baby" 2012
Created by Gervart
Clever, thought through, interesting to look at, and it tackles the classic tale of businessman vs father.
i just realised 8 minutes of my life just flew past me and I would spend my time thinking further about this cool, neat animation from the National Film and Television School. It even sports a retro song to close the piece.
The animation is nuanced and well timed, I believed in the characters I saw and found the style created a mammoth journey in a small amount of time. In this short you will see the top corner office gentleman travel through all the pipes and slides of the New York Trade Office. Chasing his child that his wife kindly dropped off with no more than a small note "look after Betty, gone shopping. Wife xx" I mean this guy didn't even get an 'o' as well.
I guess the only moment I thought they could have made more of or done differently, was the character's climax. I didn't feel the weight of his decision even though I saw it.
Its quirky, it's adventurous, it's fun, and it has a simple clear message. My time was well spent. Thankyou

"Marilyn Myller" 2014
Directed by MIKEY PLEASE
i found this animation to be quite thought provoking. I'm not quite sure about what I just watched yet am deeply satisfied. This clay animation took a year to create and it's style, though monochrome, is one of the most interesting I've watched.
The ending, which I won't spoil, left me in a state of realisation pertaining to what the whole concept is about and filled me with questions spitooning from my mind.
To give an overview of this piece is to say it's about the birth, judgement and emotion of art AND the artist. I don't think i could sum it up any other way besides recommend it to anyone whose curious to view it.

"Avoidance" 2014
Created by Erica Rotberg
i found this short left me spaced. I wasn't sure what to make of it. But then I realised that this is in face what the aim of this piece is for. It is a little comment of being spaced. On being dull. Or, perhaps just avoiding life's great excitements.
I found the visual style simple and effective. It wasn't detailed nor was it of super high quality but it didn't need it. It was watching this I came to a realisation that it is possible to create a short animation by yourself and have it A: look good in a style and B: have a cohesive message.

Poem #2
The lantern sits
The lantern waits
The lantern floats
The lantern burns
Coils create,
What does it take?
To fly up high
And say goodbye.
But may hello
Give new what old?
Cycle though that
Which was foretold?
The simple light
Of a fathers
Hand, stretched across
Forgotton land.
See that the light
Burns bright and clear
With all of might
With all hold dear
Let it guide you,
Let it be glue.

"Jinxy Jenkins, Lucky Lou" 2014
Created by Michael Bidinger and Michelle Kwon.
i love this animation for its contrasts and clear story. Put simply, this story tells of two opposites that literally attract together, for mutual benefit.
The animation is of high quality visuals and the characters are alive in their realm. I didn't find myself distracted at all by some of the unlikely circumstance as they weren't played too heavily, the focus remained on the two main characters. Each obstacle was overcame by the characters finding a way through them.

"Stellar Moves" 2015
Created by Millivette Gonzalez, Tabia Lees and Valerie Sattazahn
This compact little short truely shows how a larger story can be simplified into a bite sized 3 minutes.
It covers the common storyline of aspiring to be something new and the question of who we might leave behind.
The visuals are of high quality and for a trio to have created the short and assests is a welcome feat to the audience.
The animation never distracted me for a moment and i invested in the characters to a heartfelt teary chuckle at the climax and resolution.

Poem #1
I sit i sparing silence,
I watch as weeping willows plot.
The sun shines, but in compliance.
I wonder will i through in with that lot?
My coffees hot, my coffees worms
I don't like coffee, but chocolate...
Chocolate sits, chocolate burns,
Fire burns, -burn the bonnet.
Can i see, this coffee-chocolate?
Is it far? Is it near? Will it adhere?
Will it turn? Will it grate? Will it profate?
Ill profiteer and bombardier!
To scate and mate with chocolate new;
To barge and sail seas a-view.
To take up arms and best a foe;
To challenge them and deal a blow.
So I guess my course is set,
With open arms to all I met.

"Spellbound Short Film"
Created by Ying Wu & Lizzia Xu
I found this short to be heartfelt. It holds the old story of jealousy between siblings. Except, a hurdle and subsequent relisation occurs quite quickly. I found the story to move at a trmendous pace but not once was i startled by character or plot development. I enjoyed the action camera angles though it felt like there was the subtlest thing off in them.
This short doesnt have amazing textures but neither does it need them. Especially with such a small team. The animation was there when i wanted it and the story developed quickly but kept its audience following.
