Barty signing up for some advanced science class specifically because Evan did, and it ending up being one of the best decisions he’s ever made because of the way Evan’s eyes light up whenever they’re talking about things he’s particularly interested. Which in that class is like 75 percent of the time, so Barty spends more time staring at Evan than he does actually listening to the teacher.

I’m actually pretty tired because I got up at like 5:30 this morning even though I stayed up late watching the NFL draft. But it was worth it :)

Barty having a lopsided smile is something that I don’t think I’ve mentioned before but is very real to me. And for a while Evan wanted to strangle someone whenever Barty smiled, because he just wanted to kiss him so bad in those moments. But now, just because he can, Evan simply… kisses Barty whenever he smiles in that way that gives Evan butterflies. Because he’s allowed to <3

The Rosier twins are the best at telling lies. Him and Pandora could have you doubting your entire existence if they wanted to. One time I think they halfway convinced Barty that Pandora was actually adopted, and it was only “halfway” because they were just joking and therefore not trying very hard to be convincing. Barty felt kind of dumb after that, though, because they look pretty much the exact the same even though they’re fraternal.

There’s one secret about Evan that no one, and I mean no one, but Barty knows. And it’s that Evan is extremely ticklish. And sometimes, if Barty want to win an argument or is just in the mood, he’ll tickle Evan and it’s always hilarious for him to watch Evan go from being his typical self to being this blushing adorable person who’s straight up giggling. Evan hardcore gaslights him about it though if he ever dares to bring it up.

One of my favorite tropes (?) to imagine/read about with Rosekiller is Barty casually flirting with everyone, including his friends, so when he actually starts flirting with Evan for real in order to give him a hint, Evan has no idea and just thinks he’s joking. Which is extremely frustrating for Barty, but on Evan’s end is painful because yeah, Barty’s flirting with him, but he thinks it’s fake and just a joke to Barty.

Gotta love that type of misunderstanding <3

Like I may not post about asexual Evan a huge huge amount but I love him and he means a lot to me <3

Also I loveee seeing the complications that creates between Barty, who’s like… hypersexual (is that a word?) and Evan, who’s obviously not like that. It just makes for such interesting headcanons and fics and I love it

“Evan,” Barty begs, taking his hand. “Please, talk to me—“

“I won’t have sex,” Evan snaps, his face falling into a hard mask. “I can’t — I don’t — I’m not normal, okay? I don’t like to do any of that, and you do, but I can’t, not even with you.”

He swallows roughly, fresh tears rolling down his face as he looks away. But he doesn’t take his hand out of Barty’s grasp.

“I don’t care,” Barty breathes, and Evan’s head snaps around to glare at him. “Wait, no — I mean, I care, of course I care. I care about you, you idiot. I don’t need sex.”

Evan sighs heavily. “You will eventually.”

“Hey,” Barty says sharply. “I’ll decide what I need, alright? I need you. I’ve been going fucking crazy, Evan. You have no idea.”

Evan stares at him for a long, long moment. “Tell me. I don’t fucking believe you, you have to tell me.”

Barty feels like his entire mouth has gone numb, it’s detached in some way. He starts speaking before he even really thinks about what he’s going to say. “Evan, I think about you all the damn time. From the moment I wake up until the moment I go to bed. I spend every minute of every day wondering if you’re okay, if you’re thinking of me, if you even like me, if you find me annoying, if you’ll like what we’re having for dinner, if you like the lesson we’re learning in transfiguration, if you’ll give me one of those smiles that means I must have done something right. Whenever I’m not with you, there’s a physical ache in my chest, at the center of my being, and I feel it until I can be with you again. It’s all horribly dramatic and gay, and I’m sorry if you don’t feel the same way. But if you do, and you’re afraid that I need you to do something you aren’t comfortable with doing, then I need you to know that I will never do that.”

Barty finishes his speech, gasping for breath by the end. Evan blinks once, twice, and then his hands come up to gently cradle Barty’s face as if it’s the most precious thing he’s ever held before. Barty, of course, promptly melts into him, and Evan doesn’t waste another second before pulling him into another bruising kiss. It doesn’t last nearly long enough before Evan is pulling away again.

“You really mean all of that?” He asks Barty, and the other boy nearly collapses under the amount of exasperation he feels. “You really don’t need sex in a relationship with me?”

“I don’t know how I can make this any clearer, Evan,” Barty huffs. “The only thing that I need in a relationship is you.”

Evan’s dark cheeks are dusted in a delightful shade of deep red that Barty wants to press his hands against to feel the warmth. “Oh,” he says.

Evan who’s the cute library employee who barely says a word to anyone and when he does it’s in a monotone voice that’s really kind of off-putting and Barty who wandered in one time to get a book for school and saw Evan and was immediately captivated, so he now has read more books than he ever has at any other point in his life just because he wants to see Evan again and again. At one point he finally gets the opportunity to ask for book recommendations and Evan suddenly transforms and gets this light in his eye and starts talking (probably still in the monotone but you can definitely tell he’s excited) and Barty falls in love a little and goes home that day with twenty books that are all Evan’s recommendations. And so now they talk every time Barty goes in about the books Evan recommended and they start getting closer and closer and ahhh i just love them so much

Imagine this: Barty doing that stupid cliche thing where he’s like “Let’s compare hand sizes!” and so he and Evan compare and Barty just wordlessly interlaces his fingers with Evan’s and goes back to doing his schoolwork or something and meanwhile Evan’s blushing because what just happened but also mad because Barty tricked him into being all soft and hand-holdy.

I’m currently imagining Barty refusing to sleep for like a week straight because he’s so stressed about studying for his OWLs and stuff. And then one day he finally falls asleep on Evan’s lap in the common room. And Evan is so thankful because Barty’s finally asleep and getting the rest he needs, and so Evan full on glares at anyone new who comes in until they either scurry up to their dorms or they get the hint to stay quiet.
