The difference between a Trad Cath and a Neo-Trad Convert is when a traditional Trad Cath goes to Hell they will be forced to attend a never ending youth group service with a rapping pastor and his wife who is also a rapper and a pastor.
When a Neo-Trad convert goes to Hell however they will be stuck in a time loop in 1968 where they will be attending a Tridentine Low Mass forever and they begin to realize that while the High Mass can be quite solemn and majestic with its singing and music the budget-friendly Low Mass which the vast majority of Catholics would be attending in this era is... in fact... the most boring thing ever. Not only do they wish to claw their eyes out from boredom but they slowly realize everyone else is also bored out of their minds and people can be seen dozing off, theyre having trouble recognizing the Latin the priest is speaking because he's just mumbling the words together to get it over faster because who's gonna tell the difference to is bored and there's men that just get up to have a smoke break and chat for a few minutes outside like during the of the mass and everyone treats the priest's homily as a bathroom break or smoke break #2 oh dear god that Vatican 2 actually did happen for a reason

And this, among other reasons, is why I am against the word “grief,” which in contemporary culture seems to indicate a process that has an end point: the sooner you get there, the sooner you prove yourself to be a good sport at living, and the less awkward people around you will feel. Sometimes people ask me where I am in the grieving process, and I wonder whether they understand anything at all about losing someone. How lonely the dead would feel, if the living were to stand up from death’s shadow, clap their hands, dust their pants, and say to themselves and to the world, I am done with my grieving; from this point on it’s life as usual, business as usual.
I don’t want an end point to my sorrow. The death of a child is not a heat wave or a snowstorm, nor an obstacle race to rush through and win, nor an acute or chronic illness to recover from. What is grief but a word, a shortcut, a simplification of something much larger than that word?

How I would like to engrave this great idea on each one's heart: Christianity is not a collection of truths to be believed, of laws to be obeyed, of prohibitions. That makes it very distasteful. Christianity is a person, one who loved us so much, one who calls for our love. Christianity is Christ.
St. Óscar Romero, The Violence of Love

just saw someone call christianity a cannibal cult, I can't believe people are unironically regurgitating roman anti-christian talking points in the year of our lord 2025

If I ever knit, tat, or crochet something for you, just know that not only are you getting the item I made, you are also getting a piece of me. I mean that in the grandiose metaphorical sense and, unfortunately, also very literally. I apologize for the hair.
