October, November and December Empties!
TOTAL 2018 Empties: 124 EMPTIES AND DESTASHES. YEAH GIRL! GO MEEEEEE.
Ok so I have slaved real hard here on updating , but I have been emptying away ok ok ok.  Really happy to say that I have started 2018 with a makeup and cosmetics collection that I actually use, and is at a size that I feel good about! Its been way easier for me to destash stuff I dont actually use, and to enjoy the products I have! My goal for 2018 is to just NOT BUY STUFF. I do not need more stuff, and I want to save money, not spend it on SPARKLE POWDER!!!
List below the CUT! snip snip binch.
1) Ulta Q Tips
2) Shea Moisture Dragons Blood & Coffee Body Wash x2 - this shit smells so good, definitely got it on super sale at Ulta with stacked points and coupons, but I cant really justify the price per oz on the reg. MMM it smelled so good though.
3) Shea Moisture Dragons Blood & Coffee Conditioner - again, smells like heaven. But it just DOES NOT WORK for my hair. I literally had to use so much conditioner every time I washed my hair, cause it just doesnt detangle. AT ALL.
4) Old Spice Fiji - stay fresh my dude.
5) Cerave SA Daily Cleanser x2 - the true HOLY GRAIL of face cleansers. Bless.
6) Glo Skin Beauty Phyto Active Cleanser - I got this for free from Influenster, and Honestly, HONESTLY, I was not impressed. it kinda made my skin angry, but more importantly, WHAT THE FUCK DOES “PHYTO ACTIVE” mean? IT MEANS LITERALLY NOTHING. The packaging was heavy which felt really nice to like hold, but the branding and the very obvious BULLSHIT marketing speak, along with a $FORTY DOLLAR price tag would make me never ever actually buy this. And like, it didnt really do wonders for my skin.
7) Toothpaste x4 - stay fresh, my breath.
8) Dollar Shave Club x2- stay smooth my dude, and fuck a pink tax.
9) Crabtree & Evelyn travel size body washes x3- I actually decided to stop using my hotel travel size products, and to donate them to homeless shelters instead, as the travel size toiletries are appreciated by shelters!
10) Nivea vanilla body lotion foil sample- I actually really enjoyed this! Wasn't overpowering!
11) Loreal Infallible Paints Felt Tip Liner - Got this free from Bzz Agent a while ago, and it was great. It did get a little fuzzy at the tip after a few months but it was really easy to use and I never say that abut felt tip liners!
12) Hourglass Deluxe Sample Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light- I got this for myself for my bday w a Sephora 20% off coupon. OK, IT REALLY DOES LIVE UP TO THE HYPE.  I definitely would like to buy a full size in the future.
13) IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer in fair deluxe sample- yo, people fucking RAVE about this concealer, and I HATED IT. I am soooo happy I didnt buy a full size of this concealer. it was so creasy, and just like, would not set. UGH. AWFUL. replaced it with with Maybelline Age Rewind, which is way cheaper and the best concealer I have used to date!
14) Jo Malone samples - didn’t like these at all.
15)  CVS Sheet Mask- im not sure how I really feel about sheet masks, but I got this for free from CVS, they randomly sent me a coupon and I was like SURE. I would not pay $4 for a CVS brand sheet mask though.
16) Shea Moisture Dragons Blood + Coffee Spray Body Lotion - OK, I do not understand why they felt the need to put a spray top on a body lotion, it just got really clogged, or would spray all over the floor, BUT I got it for 50% off, and I L O V E the smell.
17) Yes to Coconuts Micellar Water- I really like this stuff, but the jury is still out on if I prefer wipes or micellar water. I feel like I end up using way more makeup remover than I need to when it isnt in wipe form.
18) Nail Polish Remover
19) OGX Marula Oil Conditioner - I really like OGX’s products- I feel like I didnt pay much attention to them in the past, but with Ulta’s basically constant BOGO on their products, I figured I’d give it a proper try. Glad I did!
20) Essence Lash Princess Mascara- I loved this when I first got it, but it didnt age well.
21) Clarisonic Radiance Brush Head
22) Sonicare brush head
23) Cerave AM Daily Moisturizer- I prefer the PM version w/o SPF, but I am an adult so I protect my skin.
24) Contact lens solution
25) Probiotics- stay poopin’
26) Cerave PM Daily Moisturizer - I swear you wake up the next day after putting this on at night and your skin is BRAND NEW.
27) Ole Henriksen Exfoliating Makeup Wipes- got these for $4 at TJ Maxx, and I liked the one side that was scrubby.
28) Makeup brush I never use - destash
29) UD Naked Basics Pan - this was from the like white shade. Used it as a base shade!
30) Nature’s Gate Herbal Shampoo- this was my HG for a while, but it started to weigh my hair down :/
31) UD Afterglow Highlighter - this arrived broken from ultra and I have tried to re-press it so many times- I repressed part of it in a circular pan and I use that in my Z Palette  but I decided to destash the rest of it before it crumbled sparkle powder all over my life.
TOTAL: 37 empties.

September Empties
I have been doing quite a bit of traveling, and have also managed to collect way too many hotel size toiletries. I also tried out some korean skincare sheet masks, only because i got them all for like $1-2 on sale at Urban Outfitters and TJ Maxx. Sheet Masks are nice, but i really cannot imagine spending more thant $2 on a sheet mask. $5+ on a sheet mask sounds insane to me!!!
Not much in terms of makeup here- I have a couple of items I thought FOR SURE i would finish this month...but they just won't quit!
137 total empties since January 2017!!
Travel & Mini/Sample Size:
1. 2x Crabtree & Evelyn travel size body washes
2. 2x Crabtree & Evelyn travel size body lotions
3. 2x Paul Mitchell travel size body lotions
4. Re-Nu travel size contact solution
5. 2x travel size mouthwashes
6. Mac Strobe Cream sample (I want to like this stuff, but it makes my skin bumpy, like i have sand underneath my skin :/)
6. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream - Deluxe Sample
7. Olive Branch Botanicals travel size body wash
8. Diptyque sample of Eau Duelle EDP - I love this scent, but i ended up with a full size of the Oud EDP because i got it in a set w/ a full size candle for $75 at Nordstrom Rack. I wish Diptyue made the Eau Duelle EDP in a travel size/rollerball size, cause i would definitely buy that, I just can't justify owning two $150+ perfumes at once (even if i did get one of them way below retail value haha)
9. Jane Carter frizz free serum sample - this is definitely for textured hair, was heavy and sticky on my hair.
Full Size Products:
10. Cerave Renewing SA Cleanser - find me a better cleanser...I’ll wait.
11. Target store brand hand soap
12. Re-Nu full size contact lens solution
13. Viviscal Hair Tablets- PSA THEYRE 50% OFF AT ULTA ON OCT 16th!!!!
14. Surgi Wax facial hard wax
15. Ardell trio lashes
16. Beauty Blusher - its like the medium size BB.
17. Clarisonic amazon dupe brush head.
18. 3x TonyMoly sheet masks (one is not pictured idk why)
19. Pig Nose 3-step korean skincare mask

Three Months of Empties: THIRTY ONE PRODUCTS + 2 destashes!!! Read below for the full list.
February:
Simple Makeup Wipes- I like these! They have a scrubby side which is nice!
ReNu Contact Lens Solution - yup
Old Spice Fiji Deodorant- my HG deodorant. AND I FINISHED A FULL SIZE DEO. WHAT?!
Loreal ProGlow Foundation- This is a GREAT $12 foundation, however, i went through it in like 4 months, whereas any higher end/mid range foundation has taken me 8-12-16 months to use, so the value isn't reallllllllly that much better than Mac.
Toothpaste- sure.
Sonicare Toothbrush head - yep
Optimum Nutrition Women’s vitamins- repurchased. theyre just vitamins but the packaging makes me feel powerful so sure.
Max Factor Mascara- good enough. it was free from Influenster
LaMer *french voice* face cream sample- YO WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO COST LIKE $100? IF THIS WASNT SO EXPENSIVE I WOULD BUY IT. MADE MY SKIN FEEL LIKE MAGIC.
Chanel Blue Cream Sample- smelled like old people
Foundation Samples: Tarte Amazonian Clay (loved it but too heavy), NARS Sheer Glow in like 6 colors
March:
Nature Made Vitamin C - $5?6?
Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Dry Shampoo- Free from Influenster. Best Dry Shampoo I’ve ever used!!!!!!!! For real tho.
Baby Wipes
Colourpop Brow Pencil in Bangin’ Brunette- $5 + $5 shipping. This was fine. Did the job, and was cheap, but the not free shipping from Colourpop makes it SO hard to want to try any of their product. I won't rebuy this bc there is a WORLD of brow pencils out there for me to try. Also, color was kinda too dark.
Mac Sample Mascara
2x Maison Martin Margelia Replica Perfume Samples
DESTASHES: Hair Repair stuff- I got this from someone else’s destash. I filled up an empty Cerave moisturizer bottle, and chucked the rest. It’s good, but I'm not like losing my mind over it. I’ll use it until i finish the bit i decanted.
Dove Hairspray- got this from someone else’s destash too. Honestly i rarely use hairspray and this packaging is so ugly it made me bummed to even hang on to it...and i hadn't used it in the 9 months since it was given to me. BYEEEEEEE
April:
Dr Bronners Patchouli Lime Body Lotion- my jam. but I'm ready to try something new.
Advil- i hate migraines.
Kiss lash trios- ok im a real girl now, gonna try and wear lashes y'all.
Burts Bees Makeup Wipes
Toothpaste
Fresh Sugar Scrub- Freebie- was nice but not nice enough to spend money on.
Clarisonic Brush Head
Jeffree Star Lip Scrub- YO I HATED THIS. It leaves an awful glycerine film on your face.
Clarisonic Mens Cleanser- This was actually pretty good!
Whole Foods Probiotics- gotta keep ur gut goin’
Makeup For Ever DS Lipstick from the Sephora 2015 Bday Gift- i was like 90% finished  w this and then i accidentally threw it in the wash. The perfect color, but ugh toooo slippery.
Dollar Shave Club - 4x razor blades- YO DSC is great. I got so tired of spending like $20 on razors every month, and this is just cheaper for 4 blade razors.
Arnica Homeopathy Thingy- sure.
Cotton Rounds- I am going to try and stop using cotton rounds and just use microfiber cloths bc waste.

Gotta love a freebie. TY influenster and Bite Beauty for the lipsticks and lip pencils!
This is the first influenster freebie I have been truuuuuly thrilled to get.
Now for a review:
Amuse Bouche Lipsticks in Whiskey & Honeycomb:
I love the packaging and colors of these! The formula leaves something to be desired however, as it is NOT transferproof at all. Application was a bit pull-y, moreso in the dark Whiskey color than the nude Honeycomb, but the citrus scent was really nice, and the one-swipe opacity is a+. I don’t think I would buy a full size of these, as they aren’t transferproof. They do last 6+ hours which is great, but I’m still a bit scared to get dark brownish purple on my cheek and not realize it!
The Lip Pencil:
I received the lip pencils corresponding to the lipsticks, 44 and 20. These pencils are indeed great! They really do stay in place all day, and they create an amazing barrier to keep your lips nice and hydrated! My only complaint is that the caps fall off fairly easily. However, you won’t need to reapply so there’s not much of a need to carry a pencil around in your purse.
WOOO LIPSTICK

January Empties: I finished quite a few products at the end of 2016, that this month's Empties aren't all that exciting. But I did finish a lip balm, which feels like a FEAT!  - 11 empties
1.NYC brow pencil- I was really impressed with this! Trying new brow products but for $3 I might rebuy!
 2. NYX micro brow- too hard, didn't apply product all that well
3. Vaseline lip balm- loved the cocoa butter smell. Just a lip balm though.
 4. Burts Bees wipes x 2- tried & true. I like cucumber better than the "cotton" scent
 5. Aveda deep conditioner- this lasted me over a year. Good product! Would rebuy.
 6. Gold Bond hand cream- NOT GREASY! Which rules! Smelled great. Would rebuy.
7. E.L.F. Bubbling moisturizing mask- I haaaaaated this packaging so much!!! Clunky & awkward & you never knew when it was done! The mask itself was...JUST fine. Nothing special. Got this as a freebie from Influenster. I don't think I will be investing in ELF's skincare. Doesn't seem worth the price ($12), and i prefer trusted drugstore skincare brands like CeraVe.
8. Contact solution
9. Toothpaste
10. Tape (for eyeshadow)
11. Cotton rounds

WNR, just because there are so many nudes to try 7. Lavender essential oil - MR 8. Lush bath bomb-WR so yum 9. 4x Maison Margiela perfume samples- I thought I really wanted to MMR "primer oils" but after wearing each of them under my Jazz Club perfume I realized I didn't really like them. I did love the "Lipstick On" scent. Didn't love "Lazy Sunday Afternoon" 10. Herbal essence dry shampoo- WNR 11. Essence brow mascara- already repurchased. $3 can't beat it 12. Nivea hand cream- loved the small packaging 13. Max factor mascara- received this free from Influenster. I actually quite liked this! MR 14. October Empties & Destashes! I finished quite a few body/hair products this month that I have just had FOR EVER, and laid to rest some makeup items that were officially past their shelf life. Beauty: 1) ELF Gel Eyeliner- de stash- WNR. This stuff sucked. I got it for free using $3 in CVS extra bucks just to give it a whirl after seeing so many good reviews online. It's thick, hard to be precise with and just...NAH FAM. If I ever use gel liner again I'm going back to Mac Blacktrack. 2)ELF "eyeshadow guard"- destash- WNR-$3 This idea is great! However, the guard is made of silicone which makes it a sticky ish eyeshadow magnet...which seems like a good thing...EXCEPT YOU HAVE TO FLIP IT OVER TO USE ON EACH EYE....so you use it on one eye, it catches all the eyeshadow, then you flip it over to do your other eye, AND COVER YOUR CHEEK IN EYESHADOW IT JUST CAUGHT. And it's weird and floppy like an eye dildo. 3)Burts Bees Cucumber Makeup Wipes-$4-WR $4 at Nordstrom rack and they don't irritate my skin. These are my holy grail budget makeup wipes. 4)Maison Martin Margelia Replica "Lipstick On" perfume sample- full size is $125- WR I LOOOOOOVE this perfume line. I own "Jazz Club" and I am lusting after "By The Fireplace" as well as the two new "perfume primer oils" from the line. Lipstick on is a lighter scent, which is why I wanted to try it, since I always gravitate towards heavy woody perfumes. This scent is ever so slightly powdery, but in a way that smells like fresh makeup and not an old lady. 5) DIY sparkle mascara- destash I tried to make my own sparkle mascara using clear mascara and superfine cosmetic glitter. It works...kind of...but flakes off in a gross crumbly way throughout the day. I had to stop trying to make it happen. 6) Stila liquid lipstick in Patina (I think?)-$18 WR THE BEST LIQUID LIPSTICK FORMULA EVER. Seriously. I've had this lipstick for 5 or 6 years now and it was almost empty and starting to get a little gunky so I decided to destash. But up until recently it was the most comfortable, transfer proof, long wearing, great smelling liquid lip I owned! WOULD REBUY(when I finish my other liquid lips) HAIR SKIN N BODY: 1) Garnier Fructis "hair & body dry oil" -$7- WNR It took me almost 3 years to finish this, and it was a STRUGGLE towards the end. This stuff is just...greasy but dry at the same time, and doesn't really ever soak in to your skin or your hair, making your hair piecey. I've started using the Pravana Hydrapearls hair oil capsules, and they make my hair sooo much smoother and softer and alive without the greasy factor. 2) Hello toothpaste- $5-WR I got a sample of this at SXSW and was a big fan! It's not overly minty as a toothpaste, but leaves your mouth feeling clean, and the packaging is so cute. 3) vitamins - duh I'd rebuy STAY STRONG LADIES 4)Aussie heat protectant spray $4- WR lasted me almost 2 years and I guess it works? I never know if these sprays really do anything but it smells good and is cheap and I liked the sprayer on the bottle a lot. 5) bio true contact lens solution- $7 WR I'll buy this over other contact lens solution if it's on sale because the packaging is cute. 6) Sonimart clairsonic brush- $8 - WR these knock off clarisionic brushes work perfectly, and I LOOOVE my clarisionic face brush. 7) Sonicare diamond clean brush head. I always go name brand for the Sonicare toothbrush heads. The work really well, and make my mouth feel brand new*~ WELP that's all folks

BEST: Mac Fix+ : This stuff is amazing. Really brings my face together and is so refreshing. Burts Bees Cucumber Wipes: These are $4 at Nordstrom Rack and theyre great. Best bang for your buck on a high quality makeup wipe. NARS Goldmember Eyeshadow: Legit had this eyeshadow for 6 years. The pan was H U G E and i had to repot it into a smaller pan. My favorite gold eyeshadow since forever. Buttery, beautiful, pigmented. Worth the $.
WORST: Water Wipes: These were recommended on reddit as makeup remover wipes, but they don’t remove anything. ELF Lip Exfoliator: OMG ITS SO GROSS TASTING. THE TASTE, IT GETS IN YOUR MOUTH AND LIIIINGERS Nivea Mens After Shave Balm: This is raved about as a primer but it makes my foundation separate on my skin. Ended up using it as body lotion to finish Lavender Body Butter: pretty sure this is made out of real butter because HOLY GREASY, my legs were like a slip n slide.
MEH-EST: NARS Cassiopeia Eyeshadow: It’s supposed to be wet or dry, but once I wet it a few times, it cause it to get chunky and almost perm damp. Beautiful color though. Formula is meh. Bought as a dupe for Pat McGrath highlighter. Yes To Carrots Tinted Lip Balm: BEAUTIFUL color, but the thing smells VERY strongly of crayons. Goof Proof Brow Pencil, Kehils Midnight Oil& Mac Strobe Cream: I liked these but I don’t think theyre worth the $$.
Most of the others are either solid staples, or just items that I’d like to try other versions of.

May/June Empties:
1. Sephora brand pressed banana powder -$13- WNR Got this to replace my ABH banana powder. A lot more product for less money, but I’ve realized that a translucent powder looks better on me than a yellow toned one. Will not rebuy.
2. Q TIPS cotton rounds - Free from Influenster- Maybe Rebuy. These work great for removing makeup. However I currently have a huge bag of cotton balls that I will use to remove makeup. When I run out of the cotton balls, I may rebuy these.
3. Ole Henriksen Sephora 500 Point Perk. -$65+ value. WNR    1. African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser OMG NO. I wanted to like this stuff. It smelled good, and the idea of a foaming cleanser seemed really fun. The deluxe sample size also lasted me over a month…BUT HOLY BREAKOUTS. I never have gotten acne before, and while using this cleanser I consistently had breakouts on my cheeks, chin, nose and forehead. ABSOLUTELY NOT. The full size is $40+ I think, and absolutely NOT worth it!    2. Truth Serum Vitamin C + Collagen Serum I loved the smell, but I don’t know if it really did anything for me.     3. Pure Truth Youth Activating Oil Again, I liked the smell, but I don’t know if it did anything for me. Also, the oil is a red/orange color, and I was worried it would stain my clothes if I accidentally got any on clothing.     4. Truth Sugar Glow Polishing Mask This was the ONLY thing in this kit that I liked. The mask smelled amazing, and would heat up when it came in contact with water. However, the price tag for a full size is very high, and not something that I really need in my skincare routine.
4. Dr Bronner's Patchouli Lime Body Lotion - $9 -WR This is my second purchase of this lotion. Love it. Will be repurchasing.
5. Andalou Meyer Lemon Creamy Cleanser - $8 WNR Got this at TJ Maxx, as I was curious to try a new cleanser. It was OK. Did the job, but I still like my Biore charcoal face bar 100 times more.
6. Cerave PM Facial Moisturizer- $15 - WR HUGE fan. Love the gel like consistency. Super lightweight. Repurchased, using the $2 off coupon from Cearve’s website + a 30% off coupon from CVS, saving myself $5!
7. Bliss Travel Size Lemon+ Sage Soapy Suds & Body Butter- WNR The smell is not my favorite, but I loved the body butter formula.
8. Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil- WNR Got this from a fried’s destash. It is technically a hair product, but I used it as a makeup remover. Did the job, but I have so many other hair oils that will take me forever to finish.
9. Love Oil Lip Balm - $3- WR This stuff is very very slippery, but if you have SEVERLY chapped lips, or are on a desert trip, it is a MUST. It healed some really dreadfully chapped lips I had at Lighting In A Bottle…and It smells delicious.
10. Benefit Watts Up Deluxe Sample Highlighter- WNR UGH. I hate cream highlighters. I find that they are very hard to blend and end up shifting my foundation underneath. Finishing this was seriously a chore.
11. Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Highlighter Pencil - WNR I love the concept of this, but it is almost too thick, and difficult to blend if i apply it over foundation. It was given to me from a friend’s destash, and after trying to make it work, i just gave up.
12. Mac Mineralize Time Check Lotion - $44 (I paid $27 w/an employee discount) - WNR Not a fan. This stuff is too sticky/tacky for me. My friend who worked at mac recommended it as a primer, but I found that it did not make my foundation sit nicely, and was a bit too textured for me.
13. Mac Sheer Pressed Powder in NC 25- $26- WR My go-to pressed powder. Will continue to rebuy.

March & April Empties
I’ve recently become fully obsessed with the r/makeuprehab subreddit, and thus have been inspired to start 1) finishing products before buying new ones, 2) not buying cosmetics that i DONT need, and 3) keeping track of my empty and finished products.
Finishing products has become a REAL thrill for me! It’s almost like a journey, like a relationship with a makeup or skincare product. When I got to the end of my Fresh Cannabis Santal perfume, it was like a final goodbye to all of the things that happened to me during the year that i wore this perfume! The last spritz was almost a letting-go experience.
Wow. That was WAY too romantic. Anyways, here is is a list + mini reviews of everything I finished!
MAC Face & Body foundation
ABH Banana Powder pressed powder
Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black body lotion + rollerball
Aveeno daily moisture lotion
Dr. Bronner’s Patchouli Lime body lotion
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser  + Fresh Rose Mask
Biore Charcoal bar facial soap
Fresh Cannabis Santal perfume
Biore ice blemish fighting cleanser
Bliss lemon + sage body butter
NARS The Multiple in “Orgasm”
Dr Haushka Lip Care Stick
MAC Face & Body foundation in C3 ($27). WNR
It took me two years to finish this bottle! I definitely did not wear this every single day, but TWO YEARS is a long time, so I feel good about the longevity of it!
I will say, this was my first liquid foundation. I used to wear the powder studio fix foundation, but I found that I needed something more moisturizing, so I went with Face & Body as it is a very lightweight formula. The lightweight formula was great at first, as someone “getting used to” wearing a liquid foundation, however, about a year into using this product, I became very frustrated with the sheer-ness. As my interest in makeup and makeup application developed, my desire for something with fuller coverage grew.
This product almost is like a very liquid-y tinted moisturizer. It leaves a very dewey finish and is super moisturizing/made my skin feel great...but coverage is indeed minimal. - Would not rebuy, simply because I need a more opaque formula.
Anastasia Beverly Hills highlight powder in Banana (part of the ABH powder contour kit $45 / as a single $12). WR
I purchased the ABH contour kit right when it came out in December 2014. This is the first and only pan in the kit that I have finished...and it lasted me over a year. So value wise, I’m happy with this pan. The rest of the kit however, I don’t think I needed- I should have just purchased one bronze contour shade and the banana highlight shade. I think it will take me a few years to actually finish this entire kit.
This was my first banana powder, and my first foiree into contouring. I love this shade, and the formula. It is a superfine powder, and makes my skin feel smooth. Doesn’t crease under my eyes, and wasn’t too yellow, or too white. Blends well, sets concealer well, it’s a great product. The fact that it is a pressed powder is a huge bonus for me, and the magnetic back makes it easy to stick in a z palette.
I replaced it with the Sephora brand pressed banana powder, as it is 2-3 times the product for about the same price, and while I like the Sephora brand powder, I like ABH better.
I would definitely rebuy this product as of right now, but I want to try other banana powders first. Ben Nye has been on my list forever...I just hate that it is a loose powder. I love the convenience of pressed powders. SIGH.
Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black rollerball & body lotion (part of the 1oz perfume gift set $70) WR
Nirvana Black feels like it was my first *~sexy*~ perfume. I first started wearing it in mid 2013, as part of my new years resolution to be one of those people that always smells “GOOD”. Not just a non-stinky person, but a “GOOD SMELLING” person. Whatever, 22 was a weird year for me, ok?
After finishing a rollerball in 2014, I got the 1oz gift set, as it was only $15 more than the 1oz perfume by itself.
I LOVE this as a lotion, and actually didn’t use the lotion except for special occasions or date nights up until this month, when I realized i should just enjoy it!
Obviously I'm a fan of the rollerball, and it’s a rollerball, so what more is there to say about it?
Bummer though, there is no Nirvana Black body lotion available anymore. Since purchasing this they released a body oil and a hand cream, but an actual body lotion was only available in the 2015 gift set. So, if it was for sale, I would rebuy it, but it isn't. RIP sexy body lotion, R. I. P.
Aveeno daily moisture lotion ($4) WR
I use this for my tattoos, and had TWO half full tubes lying around...and bucked up and decided to finish them. After a bad experience with aquaphor, I put on my tuff tattoo’d girl pants, and now I stick to this exclusively when it comes to tattoos.
Because it is a scent free hypoallergenic lotion it is great for tattoo healing, and does a great job of moisturizing your skin without making you feel sticky or greasy.
When it comes to a day to day body lotion, I like scented products, but this stuff does the job, and the small tube size is great for travel, throwing one in your purse.
I’ll rebuy this next time I get tattooed, but I wouldn’t choose it or rebuy it for day to day use.
Dr Bronner’s Patchouli Lime body lotion ($9 on Amazon prime) WR
YO. I FUCKING LOVE THIS LOTION. I sampled it at a Dr Bronner’s demo in August, and literally asked the lady if there was any way she could give me her tester bottle. It doesn’t smell super patchouli-y, or super citrus-y; the overall scent falls in the perfect middle between the musky and citrus smells, so it isn’t overpowering one way or the other, and just makes you smell AMAZING.
The formula is all organic hippy-dippy (don't act like you've never read the batshit crazy lizard people nonsense on the Dr Bronners bottle), and because of that, it errs a little bit on the liquid/oily side, and can take a bit longer than something like the Aveeno lotion to soak in.
My ex boyfriend also would freak the fuck out anytime I wore this lotion because he just LOOOOOOVED it. Like jump on top of me type of loved it.  So I guess that’s cool, even though he’s not .
ALSO- can we talk about how this is one of the only FULL SIZE body lotions i have ever actually finished in my life? I didn’t get bored with it, and have another one on its way to me from Amazon.
The only big downside with this is that it is hard to find it in store- my local whole foods doesn’t carry it, so when I realized I ran out, I had to wait for Amazon. 9/10 already re-bought.
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser + Rose Mask Sephora B-Day Gift WNR
Everyone loves free stuff right! For the first time Sephora offered two birthday gift options, a skincare or a makeup option. I was stoked about this, because another red lipstick and another eyeliner, even if they *are* Marc Jacobs, sounds BORING AF.
I really liked both of these products!
The face cleanser had a slight rose smell, and paired wonderfully with my Clairsonic. HOWEVER, a full size of this retails for $38. $38 for a face wash is WAY too steep for me. If this was $20 or less for a full size I would definitely rebuy...but $38? NOPE.
The rose mask has *~*actual rose*~ petals in it, which is a cool idea, but kind of makes the mask look like a bloody booger. But whatever, its a face mask. The package says it is meant to tone and refresh your skin, and I 100% agree that it did what it was supposed to. I love the rose smell, and I loved how my skin felt like it was reborn after using this mask....however A FULL SIZE OF THIS IS $62. IM SORRY BUT,  WAAAAAY too expensive for me.
As I have gotten more into skincare over the last few months, I find it truly hard to believe that there is *that* much of a difference between a $10-$15 tried and true drugstore brand face wash or mask (like cetaphil, cerave, neutrogena, etc) and a $40-100 high end face wash or mask. I can understand spending more on special oils or something, but for your run of the mill wash, scrub, or mask, I really don’t see what more you’re getting other than nice packaging, and a different smell. WOMP.
Biore charcoal bar soap ($6) WR
In March, my skin on my chin decided to to royally freak out for the first time in my life. I think it was a combination of using baby wipes to wipe my face off, and hormones. I am as shocked as you are at the idea of baby wipes breaking me out, but for some reason, they set off this terrifying reaction on my chin, where my face felt like it had sand lodged underneath my skin, that then decided to crack almost like a scab. It was a NIGHTMARE.
In this freak out, I decided I needed to completely change my skincare regimen, and decided to go for a bar soap rather than a liquid. I had heard that Charcoal would suck the impurities out of my skin, and this item fell into both categories, so I grabbed it.
Honestly, this again was another big win! It cleared my face up completely in about 5 days, and it foamed up well on my Clairsonic brush, as well as in my hands.
The only downside with bar soaps, is that they require some extra care so they don’t turn into mush-balls. I would just wrap mine in a washcloth when i was done with it and store it outside of my bathroom in a place that was not humid.
I would buy this product again, however, I’m interested in trying other charcoal bars, to see how they compare in terms of price, and results.
Fresh Cannabis Santal perfume ($45) WNR
Totally impulse bought this perfume after one of my friends posted about it on instagram and I thought it looked *~edgy*~ bc cannabis. *rolls eyes at my former self*.
I really enjoyed this perfume while I had it, as it was a lighter scent that still had the woodsy/dark qualities I love in fragrances...however I have since discovered the Maison Marginal Replica line, and I am now obsessed with all of it, and had to struggle through the last few pumps of Fresh Cannabis Santal perfume. Might rebuy, but not anytime soon.
Biore ice fighting blemish cleanser ($6) WNR
I didn’t actually finish this product, because when I opened it up to see how much was left, THE INSIDE OF THE CONTAINER WAS MOLDY. NOPE NOPE NOPE.
Bliss lemon body butter (travel size) WNR
I love the formula for this product, and the smell is pleasant! it’s not too thick or greasy like some other body butters I've tried, and it soaks in to your skin quickly, while being incredibly moisturizing. A full size retails for $28, but I see it at TJ Maxx and Marshalls all the time for $10 or less. The lemon scent wasn’t anything revolutionary so I likely wouldn't rebuy, however, I see that they have this same formula in vanilla bergamot flavor and THAT is something I’m adding to my wishlist.
NARS The Multiple cream blush/highlighter in “Orgasm” ($39) WNR
I’ve had this multiple for a few years now, and while I LOVED it when I first got it, my interest in it has definitely waned. I’m not a huge fan of cream blushes, although I will say that a stick packaging is better than a tub for cream blush products.
NARS says that The Multiple can be used as a blush, sculptor, highlighter, lip color, and eye color, and that it is a cream to powder formula. While in THEORY that sounds great, in practice, this formula is really only useful as a highlight, and in the case of Orgasm, it’s really only a good blush color. I also find that this formula kind of makes the foundation underneath in move, and never fully becomes a powder.
I’m just not a huge fan of the multiple formula, and much prefer Orgasm in the pressed blush form. There are also no actual contour shades in the multiple, only pink toned shades, so IDK how this could be used as a contour/sculpting product. Would not rebuy.
Dr Haushka Lip Care Stick ($13) WR
I bought this lip balm in an emotional frenzy when I went the the Downtown LA Whole Foods for the first time. That Whole Foods is so fancy and amazing that I just *had* to treat myself. I love Dr Haushka products, but they are SUPER expensive, so I bought the cheapest one...the lip balm.
This is probably the only lip balm I have ever totally finished haha. This is definitely due to the fact that it is a very very soft chapstick, and the product goes very quickly. However, I didn’t mind finishing the entire thing in 6 months, just because I usually lose chapsticks by then.
It has a kind of herbal rose smell, and it makes my lips feel luxurious. I am a big fan of hippie-ish products, and this definitely has a hippie-ish scent so if you aren’t into herbal smells it is probably not for you...but I am a fan.
Once I finish or lose the other chapsticks that I currently own, I plan to rebuy this one. It makes me feel *~*so adult*~.
The cons of this though, are that it is a fairly oily, rather than being waxy like your standard blistex, so I don't recommend putting this on or underneath a liquid lipstick, because it prevents the lipstick from drying down properly.
WOW really proud of myself for 1) getting this blog up and running again and 2) spending the time to think about all of these products, and what their value really is to me!
