Comfortable in Your Own Skin
Growing up had always been difficult for me being a Back Girl living in a society who continuously promote the white girl, with blue eyes and blonde hair image. Everywhere on TV you would see the advertisements, TV Shows and Movies with the white girl with straight blonde hair. All the toys in the stores would have the dolls with the blonde hair blue eyes (Barbie). Majority of the kids at school where white. To make things worse i used to feel that society only catered to the white race. I remember picture day and them fixing up the white girls hair, brushing it making it all nice. Me, i had braids and when my pictures where printed and given to my Mom my braids where all over the place one sticking up. They couldn't even make sure the braids where all in tact before putting me in front the camera.
Its sad to say that going through all this and seeing all this around me made me wish i was white. The thought of that thought now makes me sad and laugh at the same time but that the honest truth. I actually remember saying to my Mom “i wish i was white. I remember being so eager to relax my hair so it was straight and that is all down to what i seen around me and known.
I’ve learnt now, i’ve grown. I would be no other colour than Black and i feel blessed every single day that i was born with this amazing dark chocolate melanin colour.
If there is one thing i would like to promote to the younger generation of Black girls out there is that the colour we possess is special. We are royalty, we are unique, we are goddess.
It is vital to educate the younger generation of black girls so they know this, that’s why i made this made this page. Teach them about their history, all the unique hair styles we can do with our natural hair, promote all the black female and male influencers of today so they can be inspired by these positive black influencers.

Absence
Hey guys,
You may have noticed that the posts have been put on hold. While i am so tempted to continue to post frequently and i will start again, i am now spending my time trying to building up another platform which is so important to me.
This platform is dedicated to all women to help them get through the hardships we face on a day to day basis.
Growth, forgiveness, self love, healing, relationships, depression, anxiety and more.
Within this platform i will be blogging, doing book reviews, podcasts, live chats and also opening up my DM for those who are going through stuff and just want to talk.
Please stay tuned for more information on this platform. I am always looking for people to get involved whether its to give a testimony, book review, recommendations the more support the more people we can help get through hard times.

Good Bye 2017.. The Year of Growth!
And as the year draws to an end and once again Christmas is approaching, i reflect on 2017 which has been nothing but great to me.
This year i have grown to the woman i have always wanted to be, the woman i was destined to become. As 2017 ends and we draw closer to 2018, i know deep down this is just the beginning.
For years i have battled with confidence and anxiety issues. Afraid to get to know people, afraid to let my true self come out, afraid to be myself. I would stay quiet when meeting new people, not make eye contact as i was afraid what people would think about me and what people would say about me. All i wanted to do was make people happy, at the expense of my self happiness and joy. It got to the point where i was lost, i didn't know who i was anymore or what i wanted in life. Days started to become a blur and that was not the person i has visioned to be or the life i wanted to live.
I remember, it got to a point in 2016 where i had time to myself to reflect, to remember what I wanted to do in life, where i wanted to be in 5 years and how to make myself happy and not depend on happiness sourced from someone else. I wanted to travel and embrace all aspects of the world and life. Not having to limit myself to one country getting caught up in the robotic life of waking up every single day, going to work, coming home and cooking. I wanted to go build a legacy for my future so that in years to come when i have my own family, they are secure and have something to fall back. I wanted to enjoy life and make the most of each and everyday.
That’s why i say 2017 has been amazing to me. I enrolled in university and decided to study part time alongside working full time and I passed my first year with flying colours. I made myself a goal to travel at least once every three months and was able to able fit that into studies and work. I was able to secure a new job within a month of setting myself that goal but the best thing i was able to do was become the woman i was always meant to be.
Confident, independent, bright, determined and totally in love with my self. I am so happy with the direction my life is going and i owe it all to my ancestors and the journey with Black Excellence that i have taken this year. By remembering who I am, what i possess in my blood, how special my ancestors are and all that they have been through. With all this knowledge i am able continue to use my presence in this world to show excellence, to make my ancestors proud and to continue to show people that happiness starts with self love and self love starts with knowing exactly who you are and where you have come from.
My point of this blog is to show people that life has its ups and downs. This year has had its downs but i continued to use my strength to overcome any negativity. I am a Queen, I am a warrior and I am a goddess and I continue to use all those attributes every single day to keep me going.
For those reading this blog... please remember that you are special, you are wonderful and you are amazing. If you want something it is yours. As long as you have the confidence, patience and the determination nothing good is impossible.
Claim each day as yours....
I hope 2018 brings you all your heart desires and more.
Happy New Year xx

In 1923, Rosewood was a primarily Black town in Florida. One day a White woman living in a nearby town had been beaten and robbed. Afraid they would find the real attacker who was her husband, she told police and her town residents that it was a Black man. Immediately a mob of White men and women took to the streets to find the so called attacker. The first Black Man they ran into was Sam Carter. He was tortured relentlessly until he admitted to participating in the White woman’s attack. After being forced to admit something he did not do, they shot him in the head in front of his wife. This was not enough and they continued their reign of terror. The mob traveled across town killing and burning down any and everything they saw in their sight. They burned houses, stores, and almost all the BLACK CHURCHES. Eventually the Black town residents had enough and they began to fight back but this did not amount to much because the Mob had grown too big. The most disturbing event of the entire standoff was the murder of a 4 year old Black girl. As the little girl lay over her mother’s dead body crying, two members of the white mob grabbed her by her ankles and threw her into a nearby burning building. Days later after the town was deserted and things calmed down, the mob returned to check for survivors and burn anything else they had missed. The Rosewood Massacre is something that is rarely spoken of these days. Over 150 Black Residents were killed; many of their bodies found hanging from trees. Very few of the Black Residents managed to escape and others would never return to the land they had spent their whole lives developing.

Today
As i sit here thinking about my heartaches in the past.
I don’t think of them as regrets but as lessons learnt.
I cherish those moments and take in those situations that once broke me.
I see them as my battle wounds and remember I am a warrior.
I have overcome tough times, i have seen many tears and felt many pain and yet today i smile.
Today i laugh, today a jump for joy.
Today I am amazing.
I am a warrior, i am a queen, i am a goddess.
I am me.
