Bruce doesn’t turn to look at Dick, but he hears his throat clearing and can plainly picture the blank look that falls over his face the moment he’s decided a fight’s no longer worth having. He’s a sorry father and a sorry partner and a sorry field commander, sending Dick into a hostile situation wholly unprepared. (the hostile situation is a parent-teacher conference where Bruce and Dick are seeing each other for the first time in eleven months)

Beyond Batman and Nightwing

Summary:

There is a new Batman in Neo-Gotham City. Who does he call when he needs to save one very specific, very obstinate life? Nightwing, of course. A short Bruce and Dick romance in the Batman Beyond universe.

I made this for the 2024 Brudick Summer Exchange and had a great time with it. @brudick-summerexchange. I love these because they're a bit more of a creative stretch for me than my typical smut.

Unknowing, Unwilling, Unmade (BruDick): Bruce loves him. He’d do just about anything for him. Anything except, of course, letting him go. And so, his replacement is truly a pitiable creature. Not many would envy a fate such as his, would they?

Prompt: A story where Bruce creates Dick in one way or another (to substitute Dick in a universe where he died, for example) and Dick is fully unaware of this. Could be interesting told from Bruce's perspective (guilty that he cloned Dick, or maybe obsessed with how the clone's behaviour matches up with the original Dick Grayson). Could also be interesting to see Dick figure out that he is not the original.
