Me: No. No. The fun video game. You know, the one we spent 8 hours looking forward to? Put the phone down and get the computer!

Me: why cant i put my phone down? Just set the phone down!

*remembers autism comes with task inertia that makes it hard for me to end an activity dispite actively wanting to do other things.*

*Messages roommates to tell me to come out of my room to break me out of my task inertia. They do so. The external pressure to stop the task is able to break the inertia and I put the phone down and leave my room.*

*Comes back in and does the fun thing I had looked forward to doing*

Me: wow! Im able to do all the fun tasks i had wanted to do. That was easy. Im glad I knew that this was a symptom of autism and not just me being lazy. Knowing my symptoms allowed me to find ways to deal with situations like this.

Also,if you are an actor in modern america, you need to know that people will ship your character with practically anyone from any fandom ever. You are playing a charcter in a show that you hope will become popular? Look at every single other actor/actress in the show and know that a somewhat significant number of their characters will be shipped with yours. Fanart, fanfiction and smut will be made about your character. Honestly if no one ships your character with another same sex character, thats a sign your show or movie SUCKED and no one went to see it. And even then you may have 50 fics on ao3 with that ship.

And theres nothing you can do. It will happen. Your character being siblings with another actors character will NOT stop the shipping. Being enemies wont stop the shipping. Not having any scenes together won't stop the shipping. Hell, you and the other actor being brothers wont stop your characters from being shipped. You will be shipped and if you don't know that when you sign up, you have no understanding what fandoms are.

i’m all for wincest but it’s actually insane that people discuss it openly at spn conventions where jensen and jared and other fans of the show can hear them. like not everyone is comfortable with it (i am but i guarantee you jensen and jared are not) and it’s generally something that should stay in spaces where it can’t harm anybody

Had a dream that Tumblr staff, for April Fools, added a new kind of 'note' info. It showed you how many times a post had appeared on a dashboard. Everyone went crazy. Post metrics went nuts. One post had 1.02 billion views. Then the next mornign, the view metrics were gone. No sign of then. All the numbers were back to normal. Tumblr staff tried to pretend it had never happened. Unless you took a screenshot, you had no proof it happened. People went fucking nuts trying to determine if it happened and screenshots of viewposts became precious and rare. Tumblr staff gaslit us.

Im so sad this didnt happen.

Because he was talking to Loki and Lokis allspeak translated the German for him. And we hear whatever Loki and Thor hear as English.. therefore if people talk to Thor or Loki, we hear it as English. But Steve would not have the luxury of hearing what we hear. Steve would hear a german man speaking German.

I just realized something vital:

The Asgardias have Allspeak. Its makes it so other people hear them speak in the language of the listener. Thor and Loki never once speak English. They are both speaking Asgardian. Its just that the avengers are hearing English.

Now, Allspeak relys on the intent of what the speaker is trying to communicate when choosing the exact words.

Thor talks formal and Shakesperean because he is the Heir Prince. He represents the royal family of Asgard. He likely was trained in formal diplomacy and really wants to make good impressions.

Loki however, has a more casual speech pattern because he doesn't care about formality. He's cares about being convincing.

Btw, Loki first meets Steve in Germany, Steve (and us the viewers) is hearing their dialogue in English, but the German people around them are hearing Loki speak fluid German and Steve speak fluid English. That must have been trippy af.

I was at a party yesterday and someone mentioned eating rocks and i said "average person eats 3 rocks a year is just statistical error. Average person eats 0 rocks per year. Rock Georg, who lives in cave and eats over 10,000 rocks each day, is an outlier and should not have been counted."

I was worried everyone would think i was weird for saying that, but luckily, like 5 or 6 people started laughing and we discussed Rock Georg and who in the group would be most likely to be rock Georg.

A stetson. Specifically a medium warm brown stetson with a light teal ribbon around it. Even more specifically, since i bet if you posted asking people about goats and hats then you want to know this sort of stuff, the goat is the muted brown kind with cream/grey beard. Its ears poked through the stetson from what can be assumed were slits, like hats for cats or dogs.

Breaking News!

An old woman is suing the hospital and doctors for saving her life. (Skip to the bottom for important context)

Katie Bell, age 73, had finally managed to pay off the last of the debt from her late husbands cancer treatments, making her debt free for the first time in decades. That was when her car was hit by a drunk driver. Paramedics arrived and found her unconcious with fatal injuries. However thanks to the quick actions of responders, nurses, doctors and surgeons, she lived, now $75,000 in debt and in need of years of physical therapy.

In a shocking turn of events, she is suing the medical team, claiming she did not consent to having her life saved, that she would have had a quick and painless death but now has to live with debt and pain from her surgeries

She is seeking a cancellation of debt, for the hospital to pay for her therapy, plus 20,000 in physical and emotional damages as she now as to live with the trauma of the accident instead of dying from it.

This is not true, to my knowledge, but what does it say about our world that you probably accepted it as true?

I'm going to ask a question and hope you believe me when I say I am not trolling but honestly want to know.

I read your "welcome at pride" list. People in revealing clothing are welcome. People who are there to perv on others are not. But... are revealing clothes not designed to attract loaded looks? Why else dress like that?

I haven't been to any pride but I've seen pictures and some participants wear in-your-face sexually revealing clothes. It's one of the reason I don't want to go tbh. Cause it makes me feel uncomfortable, like I would be perving on them just be being there while at the same time making me see things I would rather not.

Reasons to wear revealing clothing that are not to an attempt to sexually attract others:

Its hot and they will be at a parade and they dont want to suffer heat stroke or become sweaty and gross.

in their conservative household they were not allowed to wear revealing clothing, therefore, wearing revealing clothing is a rejection of the opressive culture/family/religion they grew up in.

they spent their whole life hating their body due to gender dysphoria but due to transitionaing, they now love the changes in their body and want to celebrate that new found self-love.

they spent years being told their body is a commodity owned by others and 'what they wear' is proof that they deserve to be used and abused and assaulted. surrounded by safe people, they want to prove that their body is their own.

They love their body and are proud of how it looks. Like any other pretty thing they love and are proud of, they want to show it off to other people. If I put abeautiful glass blown vase on my mantel, Im not asking my guests to take it or pick it up and break it, Im just showing off that I own a beautiful vase.

They are with a person they love and want to show their love. They want to revel in the public affection that they arent allowed to show or admit any other time of the year.

Pride is about personal freedom, expression, and rejection of the norm. It is almost never about what other people think of them. that happens every other day of the year. So many people bottle up their feelings, hide who they are, and lie about basic facts of their life to keep themselves safe from abuse. On Pride, that all bubbles over and they try to cram a whole years worth of self expression into one parade. Its messy. Its crude, sometimes. Its everything it cant be every other day. But one things its definitely not is about anyone else. Not about sex. Not about attracting other people. Its about doing what they cant do and being who theycant be and celebrating all of themselves, even their body.

Its more that in most fandoms Im an All-TP(I ship everyone with everyone), BUT I have a single *character* I hate and I hate all ships that contain that person, all fanfics that show them as a person and generally the entire idea of them ever achieving happiness in any metric. Any other ship, no matter how unusual or unlikely will be at least tolerated. I just don't like that character.

At a certain point, it was just hard to keep up. They seemed to fall from the sky like fizzing raindrops, soaking everything in pure wildness—memes, that is. 2022 had an absolute bumper crop of memes. The fertile field of this year’s chaos was sown freely, resulting in some impressively widespread phenomena. Most of it remained pretty contained within the dashboard, but at the end of the year the biggest meme of them all broke containment…We’re getting ahead of ourselves here. 

Cast your mind back to January 2022. We kicked off the year with Horse Plinko, which soon joined forces with Eeby Deeby in a frenzy of flaming gifs in which the poor horse plinko’d its way to Super Hell. Nothing has ever summed up the mildly deranged meme generation process on Tumblr so perfectly. 

This era of memes merged smoothly with the Month of Blorbo. Can you believe blorbo from my shows is more or less purely a 2022 phenomenon? Granted, the original post happened in late 2021, but it was the new year by the time “blorbo” secured itself in our vocabulary. How did we even live our lives on Tumblr without the word “blorbo”? It’s impossible to even imagine at this point. 

Springtime dawned with the rise of Live Slug Reaction, which dominated the dashboard as everyone rushed to plop that shocked slug in the corner of their favorite gay moments from TV and film. And in May came a very important event that would define the rest of the year on Tumblr: the launch of Dracula Daily, Affectionately dubbed “tumblr book club,” the serialized email newsletter found a hugely involved following on Tumblr and spawned an infinite variety of memes, beginning with the iconic paprika recipes. 

The Summer of Morbius dominated Tumblr from June onwards, with everyone going bonkers with Morb-based puns, jokes about the film’s most ridiculous moments, and reblogging a single GIF somehow containing the entire movie that would crash your browser when it played on your dash..

The i love you x i love you y text post meme saw us to the end of the summer, and autumn came with the rise of the GOUGER. Or is it GOUGAR? Regardless, the strange but harmless creature took over everyone’s meme palette for a while, getting involved in increasingly silly scenarios. 

This free-for-all was interrupted by the death of Queen Elizabeth, an event that was solemn everywhere else. . But on Tumblr, of course, users swamped the dashboard with Queen Liz-related memes and commentary. And crabs. There were quite a lot of those.

Later, in September, the Try Guys saga unfolding on Twitter and YouTube filtered over to Tumblr in the form of the “lost focus and had a consensual workplace relationship” meme, with Tumblr users casting various favorite co-worker ships in the roles of the controversial real-life pairing. 

And finally, closing out the year, the meme you’ve all been waiting for: the one and only Goncharov (1973). Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, Goncharov is a movie borne out of the magic combination of a misprinted shoe label and Tumblr’s fertile imagination. Thanks to a fake movie poster by user @beelzeebub, which gave names and faces to the characters, Tumblr ran absolutely wild, churning out analysis, fanart, and even fanfiction at an astounding rate. This was by far the meme to win 2022: it gained coverage all over the internet, including the freaking New York Times, and even Scorsese himself acknowledged it. You did that, Tumblr. Goncharov forever, all hail the power of the Tumblr meme!
