Twenty. Student. Fantabulous. Speak of my lameness, and I straight will halt. [unlikely.]

Quote
You think ‘Okay, I get it, I’m prepared for the worst’, but you hold out that small hope, see, and that’s what fucks you up. That’s what kills you.

How to heal yourself.
1. Cry. Cry a lot. Big, screaming sobs that leave you gasping for breath and quiet, choked ones muffled in the damp of your pillowcase. Cry until you feel better. Cry if you don’t.
2. Destroy all evidence. Burn the photographs. Rip the books. Break the jewellery and destroy the memories. Try to see it as catharsis and find yourself in the debris instead.
3. Turn on yourself. Tell yourself you didn’t deserve them. Tell yourself you’re worthy of nothing but the worst. Tell yourself people like you are born to be alone. Tell yourself that none of that is true. Believe it anyway.
4. Turn on them instead. Bring all your hurt and channel it into hatred. Let all the sweetness in your heart turn sour in your mouth. Try to hate them instead of hating yourself. Still remain unable to erase the cracks in the mirror.
5. Hurt yourself. Picture slicing your skin open and letting the poison seep out from your veins. Picture ending yourself for ending it for you. Break down and tell yourself that you’re better than this, that you deserve more. Crumple and seek that hurt even though you know you shouldn’t.
6. Try hurting them. People call you girly like it’s an insult but turn it into your strength. Imagine stabbing them with a nail file. Girly. Stupid. But effective. Imagine splitting them open and making them scream. Imagine wrapping your fingers in the roots of their hair and bashing their faces repeatedly into solid concrete walls until you get bloody and deformed and destroyed and maybe even dead. Picture killing the memories like they insist on killing you.
7. Try not to care. Try being the biggest and baddest around, all leather and scars and apathy. Still feel like a shadow of yourself inside.
8. Try to be okay again.
9. Mostly fail.
