having another dyke call you a dyke is like hearing a chorus of angels sing your name. it’s pure joy wrapped up in one word. you see me and i see you. there is nothing like the community and connection you can have with another dyke.
on the other hand, someone who isn’t a dyke calling me a dyke should be punishable by death.

Bit of Irish Witch Lore
Ireland’s list of horrific witches is short. Witches in Ireland were still considered wicked, but their activities to their other European counterparts differ. Don’t think that they couldn’t do the things the others could. They were said to make life wither with corn cobs and cursed kisses, raise storms, and steal milk. Their malefic power was palpable. However, modern Irish folklore says that their witches are simply not angry with them. They didn’t threaten them with torch and noose, so the witches didn’t retaliate with their horrors. Ireland accepted the witches as another part of life, even if it was a bitter or strange one.

I got curious about what the deal is with pronouns and LGBT terms as gaeilge so I did some googling and HOW COOL is it that the word for transitioning comes from ‘a new springtime’? SPRING! A NEW BEGINNING! REBIRTH! love it!

needed this today :”) anyways off to the barbers now I LOVE BEING BUTCH
If you’re butch, your body is butch. Your boobs are butch, your hips are butch, your narrow shoulders or short stature are butch. Butchness does not have to be about passing as a man or achieving that lanky teen boy androgyny that’s pushed on us. Just being as we are is butch. It’s about us making and taking our space in the world, not fitting into a narrow standard of masculinity.

butchfemme dynamics aren't beautiful simply because of the aesthetic, they're special due to the vast, rich history and politics behind them. because of the generations of lesbians that have taken on these labels with pride. i don't call myself a butch because i'm masculine, i call myself a butch because i connect so deeply to the identity that has been carefully built and fought for by those that came before me.

I've decided if people are going to call male characters babygirl then I can do it the other way around for female characters. She's my man now. That woman is my boyfriend. My boytoy even.

have this cool idea for an irish poem about this mountain in my local area (An Earagail/Errigal) and how the mountains a he/she butch .. now HEAR ME OUT!!!
in irish all of our words are gendered much like other languages and Errigal is feminine in some areas and masculine in others which is so fucking cool to me ??
like ok blah blah miscommunication blah blah grammar … what about the queerness and butchhood that’s rooted in nature? growing up as very isolated butch lesbian im taking this mountain as my elder butch and my first real representation of he/she pronouns lol goodnight oíche mhaith
#butch lesbian#gaeilge#he she it#trans experience#queer nature#ireland#donegal#this mountain is butch
