Never-before-published model sheets for canned Amblin Cats movie 🐈‍⬛✏️👁️

Hi all. As promised, I am sharing a comprehensive .PDF of model sheets that were created for the Amblimation Cats movie that never saw the light of day. Most of these model sheets have not been published or posted anywhere on the internet as far as I'm aware. I'm going to get ahead of some questions for the good of the order:

Are these real? I certainly didn't sit and create all 117 pages myself for the sake of an elaborate hoax!

How did you get these? I work in the animation industry. A senior coworker caught wind of my cats obsession and said he had the Xeroxes and asked if I wanted him to bring them in. Internally, I flipped my shit. And then I digitized his hard copies.

How did your coworker get these? They were found in the library of the university he used to go to. (Not super unusual at an arts school in southern California.) He made photo copies back then and has been holding onto them. The thing is he knows nothing about CATS; isn't a CATS fan, never seen it, etc. I guess he just felt it was something worth holding on to!

Can you upload better quality? Unfortunately what you're seeing as good as the quality gets. These are scans of photocopies from the 90s. There is nothing to be done for the crunchiness.

What about (missing characters)? I'm showing you everything I was personally given!

Which character is (nondescript drawing of a cat)? If the image isn't labeled, your guess is as good as mine! I put all the misc./unlabeled cats in the back of the PDF. The only exceptions are ones that I felt were abundantly obviously supposed to be a specific character.

Who are the artists? Unfortunately, there's no way I can tell for sure. None of the sheets are signed. I wouldn't even go about guessing because many concept artists can perfectly emulate more "well known" illustrators whose styles were sought after. My coworker said he might be able to figure out who the draftsmen were; until then it's a mystery! If I find out, I will come back to this post and update it with that information.

Are these all the model sheets ever? No! In fact, there are model sheets that have been posted online that are not in the bundle I was given. I have no idea of the sum total of model sheets in existence.

I feel like this is an unpopular opinion, but more people should read incomplete/unfinished/in-progress fanfics.

I've noticed this huge trend where creators on tiktok and tumblr who will be explaining how to use Archive Of Our Own to new users and they always say "and make sure to scroll down and click completed only" or how people will go out of their way to mention they only read completed fics 'because they were traumatized when they forgot to check the dates and didn't realize this fic hadn't been updated since 2012'.

The thing is - I think by not engaging with and/or actively avoiding writer's WIPs readers are potentially adding to the aggregate of abandoned works. Now this obviously isn't the case for all abandoned fics, anything from major life events, to loss of interest, to getting busy can be a reason for a fic getting abandoned - but at least on some level I just know that writers are quitting while they're ahead when they aren't garnering any response or feedback because reading WIPs has become unpopular. If you're worried about reading something that hasn't been updated since 2012 then you can use the date updated function to sort out old fics.

Anyways, support your favorite fanfic writers by engaging with their WIPs.

My Hero Academia Pokemon AU, aka Pokemon Hero Acdemia part 4: Inko Midoroya as an Espeon! Been a while, but I finally had the free time to finish up this, haha.

Of course, since Izuku is an Eevee in my AU, there was only one logical choice of Pokemon for Inko~

(Also, yes, that is a cameo of Hisashi Midoriya as a Missigno. Because what else was he gonna be, haha)

Part 3 of me drawing the My Hero Academia cast as Pokemon, featuring Endeavor as an Arcanine! Crazy how I had never actually drawn this guy before now despite the fact that he went through a whole species change (I had originally planned him as an Emboar, but since the rest of his family has to be Vulpixes/Ninetales for rather obvious reasons I ultimately decided that a canid Fire-type would be more suitable), which is part of why I tackled him next.

Anyway, sorry that this has less drawings than the previous two, but I have been rather busy and I was tired of not being able to finish this, and if I want to actually cover as many characters as humanely possible I do need to finish these guys faster...

Also, yes, it is very darkly ironic to post a drawing of Endeavor of all people on Mother's Day, I swear that was not on purpose...

Himiko Toga as a Zorua, redesigned!

My original design of this girl gave her an all-blonde fur color, but I got a few complaints from people (albeit not here on Tumblr) that it was a little bit hard to tell that she's supposed to be a Unovan Zorua, so now the only blonde parts are the paws, facial markings, and hair fringe. I also gave her darker pupils, as her eyes being yellow makes it easy for them to blend in too much otherwise.

Other than Izuku, whose redesign I've drawn and posted already, Himiko was the one other character I felt was in real need of a major design overhaul, hence why I got her out of the way second.

Next up is a MHA character who I haven't even drawn yet! Can you guess which one (hint: he's a very love him or hate him kinda guy)?
