Wanted to give my try at designing Jack's parents and his grandma! (This is not a headcanon. I didn't even bother giving them names lol)

Jack's grandmother is a world-famous inventor who used to be on the Heylin side (basically Gru from Despicable Me). She managed to amass wealth from patent licensing her inventions. Once Jack was able to walk on his own, she became the boy's primary caretaker.

Jack's father is a smarmy investment banker who's also a black market dealer in cultural artifacts. Although he is half Chinese, he chose his mother's surname and continued to build on the Spicer family's wealth.

Jack's mother is a corporate lawyer (Lawful Neutral Elle Woods). She's a little more present in Jack's life than his father, but still oblivious to what goes on in Jack's life and dismissive of his grievances.

You were so big-brained for pointing out that Jack's "freakish" white skin would have been seen desirable in East Asian cultures so I raise you this, it was love at first sight for Chase and hate at first word. Jack, from looks alone (ignoring his fashion sense) would be the perfect feminine fenghuang/phoenix (the symbol of Empresses) to his masculine dragon (the symbol of Emperors) but the boy genius' personality is just so bad that Chase would rather eat cement than admit that he finds him beautiful.

1. Strange, too, since sickly pale skin was also a beauty standard in Europe as a symbol of high social status at one point.

2. I had to look up the wiki for fenghuang/dragon pairing: [X]

The fenghuang originally consisted of a separate male feng and a female huang as symbols of yin and yang...However, since the Qin dynasty...the feng and the huang merged into a single female entity. ...the Chinese considered the dragon-and-phoenix design symbolic of blissful relations between husband and wife, another common yang and yin metaphor. 

The whole page is an interesting read! It's giving me ideas...

3. I'm a strong proponent of a headcanon that Jack is attractive until he opens his mouth. Afterwards, the entire package is an acquired taste lol.

I've been contemplating about Chack, trying to understand why it clicked for me a decade ago (besides being stereotypically 2k seme/uke)

It all boils down to:

Because it's funny.

Jack adds cracks to Chase's cool facade and the warlord's self-image just by being himself, and Chase HATES IT.

Prince of Darkness is haunted by the realization that he holds more positive feelings towards the goth than he should and OH GOD why HIM?!

Jack and his sad attempts at trying to "hang out" with an immortal John Wick. The audacity. The balls of steel. Is he gonna stop? NO.

I just wanted to say your reverse comic had absolutely rewired my brain and I never really got over r!Chase x Jack (reverse or original) and the hidden potential of r!Omi x r!Jack, God bless. The original Xiaolin Showdown series just makes me want to eat asbestos over the huge wasted potential it had, (it would have been so good if it was good!) but your comic (and Jack) had cursed me with a lifelong fixation that comes out of nowhere every blue moon.

Oh god, yeah, Xiaolin Showdown left a lot of unanswered questions, and even after over a decade (I got into the show a bit late), the untold stories still frustrate me.

The show is ridiculous and goofy, but it still has serious moments to keep us engaged. I still love how colorful and culturally diverse the casts were, and how they were more than their backgrounds.

tbh it's not the worst show to have a lifelong brainrot over.

I'm finally understanding why my past self loved Chack. The subconscious appeal of its full potential. You see, all of my major ships form a Venn diagram, and Chack is at the core of it. The foundation.

Turns out I've been essentially eating the same food for decades. Variation of the same relationship dynamic. My brain permanently rewired, unbeknownst to its master.

While watching Chase Young compilation videos on YTube, I noticed that his mannerism oscillates between a wise old man and a delinquent.

It's subtle, but a fitting portrayal of a 1500-year-old immortal who's perpetually stuck as a young man.

Spicer Tech company CEO and lead engineer, Jack Spicer (23), and his regular associates. His hobbies include hunting for ancient artifacts and casual villainy.

I want their relationship to evolve into something like Team Rocket as Jack grows older: Jack regularly invites Wuya and Chase for business trips or luxury vacations. Chase and Jack enjoy challenging each other with puzzles and strategic board games. Wuya and Jack enjoy more frivolous activities/shenanigans together.

(Jack treats the monks regularly too, basically spoils Omi, but if you ask him about it, he's gonna look at you like you're delulu.)

It's a fun read with lots of love for all the main and side XS characters! (Chack is more on the side as the main focus is 'Jack' trying to adjust and survive) 💯

Has anyone made a headcanon that Chase is obsessed with Omi because Omi is Dashi's reincarnation? (Chase missed Dashi but also wants his power)

I was thinking about the reasons behind Chase's distaste/disinterest in Jack (besides the obvious ones like lack of martial art skills and cowardice).

Chase was a xiaolin monk. Chivalry, compassion, discipline, integrity, humility, simplicity, etc. were the core values of a xiaolin warrior.

You know what stands pretty much on the opposite side? A merchant/noble.

Jack is technically a mega rich merchant's son, a social status akin to nobility in modern capitalist society.

While Chase has diverged from following the values of a xiaolin monk, he still seems to respect them and anyone who upholds them.

I don't think Jack understands that yet (It would be interesting to see him mature and get to know Chase as an individual, and vice versa)
