Next Story of Kingdom Come

I am writing the next story of Kingdom Come, and I am HOPING that it will be some sort of advent story that I can post in completion.

I am writing this here in case the interwebs sees it and want to hold me accountable.

The next story of Kingdom Come will be focused on Coen. Vesemir has asked him to do something unforgivable, but he has to do it to help the new witchers. Tel has been conscripted to join as well. I am LOVING writing so far and it delves a bit deeper into the culture of the northern fay.

Part 2 of my Kingdom Come series is COMPLETE! 

It’s not as long as the first, but I love it just the same. It is setting up for so many more stories to tell. I have so many ideas, I just need to start writing them rather than dreaming about them.

It's been awhile

It's been almost two months since I updated, but I had not written in longer than that. I wrote the first chapter right after I finished the first part of Kingdom Come (Once Burned is the first 'book').

I hoped that releasing the first chapter would put a fire under me and make me write but it turns out that didn't work.

BUT I AM NOW WRITING AGAIN.

Ideas are flowing and it feels GOOD.

I am hopeful to get a second chapter of High Water out by the end of the week.

I read From Ashes on ao3 earlier this year and loved it. It had some of my favourite drarry tropes (Draco being friends with Hermione, Draco as a healer, Draco suffering (sorry, not sorry)) and I wanted to ask if you were alright with people printing and binding personal copies for themselves.

I saw a tiktok of someone's self-bound versions of their favourite fics and I thought that would be a fun project for this summer since I'm on break now.

I just wanted to ask bc I heard some authors aren't okay with personal prints, so just let me know please, I'll always love the story regardless.

I would say if you do print and do a self-bound version, go for it. Just make sure you tag me in a photo if you could? I just selfishly want to see a photo of it. No worries if not!

Evolution of Fanfic IRL

So this tumblr account turns six today, which to me is just wild. I started writing fanfic before this account started, but launching a tumblr became a huge part of growing. And, arguably most importantly, it expanded my ships into other fandoms.

But how much has changed in the six years? I do credit TikTok for this, but how much more fanfic has been accepted in the 'real world' has been incredible to be a part of.

When I started writing fanfic, I was in college. I didn't tell a soul I was reading fanfic, let alone writing it. The only reason I even started writing is because I had to for a class. Isn't that crazy? The shame of it was so intense I used a CLASS as an excuse to start.

I would read on tumblr other people talking to their friends or spouses about fanfiction and I just couldn't imagine it. I thought I would take it to the grave.

But I didn't.

The first person I told was my therapist. It was the first time I had uttered the words out loud.

It seems so ridiculous now, and I am not sure why I cared so much.

I have now told a few people. Not everyone handled it well, but most people have been kind.

And some wanted to know my pen name. Which I thought I would FOR SURE take to the grave, but that didn't last either.

I'm not sure other people have struggled with this, but I just wanted to let people know that you can say that you write or read fanfic, and the world will not end. In case you needed that reminder.

My writing has slowed down because of responsibilities, but I wouldn't give it up for the world.

So here is to the next six.
