Finally! Some pride month art! (You know, now that it’s almost over…) I think I’m just gonna do these two this year because I’m not happy with how the others have turned out. But here they are folks! Elis and Alistair all dressed up for pride!

Little baby Finn! (Technically he is seventeen but I count anything under like twenty three to be little for him). I tried a new art technique here too but you can’t really tell. I didn’t hate it but I probably won’t do it often. Just for fun sometimes.

One year of progress. I think I’ve gotten a lot better. But wow. It’s been a whole year since I first drew Alistair and started to think about this story. It’s changed a lot and likely will continue to change as I develop it. I can’t wait to be able to share the final story in a few years. It still has a long way to go but I’ve stuck with it this long. I’m not giving up now.
(And, in case you couldn’t tell, the first one is from June sixth 2025 and the second is from June sixth 2024)

I have been waiting to draw Shadow in this shirt for three whole months. Anyway, it’s pride month so I’m here with all my queer ocs to be super annoying and gay and stuff. Enjoy.
(Also, I’ve decided that any time I need graffiti for a background I’m gonna hide all sorts of fun little references in it)

Do you know. How many colors. There are. On a Cecropia moth? (They are really pretty though…)

Did a sun god the other day, here’s a moon god. I think I’m going to hit this one with the Moth Beam too and give him luna moth wings. I think those would fit better.

This started out as a scribbled note that was “The Sun God would have glowing orange/gold freckles.” And now it is this. I love drawing Ryan. Ze’s so freaking cute. Also, fun fact, zer wings are based on the wings of an io moth.

Animation frame sketches with words here. Also, a girl saw me drawing this in class and said that it looked really good. Which, since they are just quick little sketches, I find hard to believe. But it still made me feel good.

Anyway, have a Ryan.

Chapter 11 first try parts 1 and 2
Sooooo…
I’ve been working on this. It’s kinda a rough draft of what is currently chapter 11 of The Clockwork King. But, I can’t think of anything else to write so here it is. This is part one and two of what’ll probably be twelve. Sorry if the tenses and stuff are all messed up. I hate writing in 3rd person. I don’t know why I do it.
Anyway, some warnings: Character death, fighting, and Derek. Let me know if I should add anything to that list.
Shadow stumbled out, blinking in the sudden bright light. It felt more disorientated than it had when waking back up, which was saying something. It also had a massive headache. Because of course it did.
As it took in its surroundings, the headache increased. It could feel Alistair slamming forward wrapped in layers of panic so thick it almost choked. What had him so aggravated? Almost as soon as it thought that, memories that definitely weren’t its started pouring in.
Two boys circling each other in this same arena. A crowd cheering for blood, their blood, as that king smiled darkly from his seat. A show of loyalty to a corrupt king. Entertainment to those watching. his fear, their fear, turned into something fun to watch. Turned into a show.
The roaring of the crowd dragged Shadow back into the present. It looked across the arena to where another boy had come out, sword in hand, smiling and waving at the audience. Great. It knew this boy. Derek, the king’s second in command. How exactly a seventeen year old boy had gotten control of an entire army it didn’t know.
Alistair was freaking out even more, so panicked that he actually caused Shadow to stumble. It took a second to figure out why the strange being stuck in its body was losing it. Ah. Yes. Derek. From its very short time of awareness in this body, it had figured out that those two had a history. And they'd fought before. And Derek was ruthless.
”Alistair…” It hated this. Hated the quiver in its voice. Hated that it had to talk to the strange creature whose body it should own. But it had to because said weird creature was holding it back. Alistair was guarding its magic, not letting any through. And now it had to fight. It can’t fight without magic. Alistair is going to get it killed. It can’t die again. It won’t.
”Get your hands in front of your body. That’ll give you the best chance.” Alistair’s voice sounded from within its head, somehow both certain and terrified at the same time.
“And how,” Shadow questioned, bouncing slightly as it looked for a weapon, cover, anything, “do you suggest I do that?” Across the arena, Derek was also looking antsy. The fight would start soon and it really did not want to lose.
A part of it wanted to just let Alistair take control for this. He wanted to, he’d been fighting for control for days now. And he knew how to fight without magic. He’d been part of this horrific guard. But, letting him take control would make it weak. Make it look weak. And if Alistair somehow stayed in control… no. It was better for it to say and risk death or injury than let Alistair in.
But, that didn’t mean Alistair was useless. He was still giving instructions. “When he comes at you, roll to the right. He won't be expecting that because of your stance. As you roll, get your hands to the front. It isn’t hard. If you can, find a way for him to cut the ropes. Don’t worry about getting hurt. I heal fast.”
Shadow growled, glaring at the ground. “This would all be so much easier if you just let me have my magic.” It hated that he had that advantage. He shouldn’t. He shouldn't even exist. “I could fix all of this and we could run off to find another city to terrorize. Hell, I’d even let you stick around.”
“No.” Alistair’s voice was annoyingly firm. “I’m not letting that happen. I’m not becoming a monster.”
Shadow wanted to scream. This stupid boy. “You are already a monster. That’s all they’ve seen you as since you showed that you weren’t human. And you know what? I’m fine with being seen as a monster. I’d rather be a living monster than a dead monster. How you fight here won’t magically change how they see you. You’ll always be a monster.” It ground out anger tugging at its chest.
Alistair started to respond but was cut off when the king struck a bell, the ringing shook the ground, signaling the start of the fight. Derek flew at it.
Predictably, everything that could go wrong did so in the first five minutes.
——————————————————————————————————
Elis had been waiting patiently for the bell. He was good at that part, the waiting. Lots of practice. While they waited, Elis went over the plan. Disarm the guard, steal her keys, unlock the door, grab Alistair and get out. Even if it wasn’t Alistair. Elis wasn’t sure how much of his friend was still there but he would save him anyway. No one deserved this fate, demon or not.
If everything had gone to plan, Alice would be waiting at the gate to let them out while Ria and Finn brought down the fury that only pissed off guardians can bring. Or at least, that was the plan. Predictably, it didn’t work out.
He’d managed to knock out his guard, a woman about Finn’s age whose name was Eliza, with only a few seconds of struggle. She hadn’t been expecting an attack from behind and since the only way to really stop them was ripping off all of their limbs, Elis easily won.
He knelt down next to her and dug through her pockets to find her keys. Unlocking the heavy metal door that stood between him and the rest of the world was probably the most important part of Elis’s job. So, naturally, that was when the first problem presented itself. She didn’t have any keys.
Elis checked through her pockets again before rocking back on his heels and running a hand through his hair. Okay. This was fine. Everything was fine. He looked again, praying he had just missed them, horribly aware of each second that ticked by. This was fine. They could figure something else out. They wouldn’t let such a small flaw keep them from their mission.
He stood up and walked over to rattle the handle of the door. Nope. Still locked. They listened carefully, trying to gauge the thickness of the door. Could they break it? Maybe. The door was pretty thick, even the roar of the crowd was dulled to just a low murmur. But at the edges, where the door connected to the frame, it was a lot louder. Maybe…maybe he could break the hinges instead of the actual door. That could work.
Elis stepped back, preparing themself. After one last check to be sure that all of their feeling was off, running into a door with full feeling wasn’t something he wanted to experience, Elis ran. And hit directly into the door, the thump of their body was accompanied by the horrific sounds of metal grinding together. That didn’t sound good. That sounded expensive.
But that could be a problem for future Elis. Right then he needed to focus on the task in front of him. They stepped back again, trying to get a running start. He bolted forward, slamming into the door. He had intentionally turned so that his left side hit first, a decision he regretted immediately after because his whole upper left side went limp. Great.
But again, they couldn’t worry about that right then. They had bigger things to worry about. They ran at the door again. Then again. He had lost count of how many times he’d slammed into the unforgiving metal at this point. It didn’t seem to be working. Alistair couldn’t stay alive for long, though whatever he was doing seemed to be working. Elis needed to be out there.
They ran at the door again, hearing one of the hinges creak and snap. One more time. He backed up, braced himself , and ran forward. That hit did it. They slammed into the door and it burst forward, sending a cloud of dust into the air as it landed. They stumbled into the light, suddenly aware of the fact that only about half of their body worked. How would he get Alistair out now?
He didn’t get much time to think about it because he was still blinking in the sunlight as the crowd cheered. They looked up just in time to see Derek’s sword finish its arc. Just in time to see Alistair’s blood splatter the ground and his lifeless body fall to the floor.

I swear I’ll post something here soon. I have a bunch of stuff I’m working on. However, theater took over my life for three weeks and I am at least two assignments behind in every one of my classes, largely due to theater taking over my life. But, I’m catching back up and I’m working on some writing that should be done by this weekend. Also art. Sorry this isn’t anything fun. Just wanted to explain that THINGS ARE COMING. I’ve not forgotten about this. (Also, I’m really excited for the writing. I have half of it written but I need to edit it. It’s gonna be cool.)

Oh look. A phoenix. Huh. I was sad recently so I killed a character to see what happened. He is on fire now. And in crisis mode. His name is Flint btw. He also has four wings. Both his wings and hair are fire. He’s cool.

I’m back! Not had the best few days but I have returned with a little mini comic! This took me nine hours. Nine. Hours. There’s still things I wish I’d worked more on but I was starting to get bored. Oh well. I tried stuff I’m bad at like perspective, backgrounds, and hands. And wow. I need work. Anyway… enjoy one of my favorite oc couples.
