Huh ... Driving = loss of virginity?  Only extremist religioids can come up with utter bullshit on this scale.
Tumblr media
Say What Now of the Day: Members of Saudi Arabia’s highest religious council, the Majlis al-Ifta’ al-A’ala, have submitted a report to the country’s legislative body claiming that allowing women to drive would ultimately result in there being “no more virgins.”
According to the Egyptian publication BikyaMasr, the Majlis, working with former King Fahd University professor Kamal Subhi, have concluded that changing the law to give Saudi women the right to drive would “provoke a surge in prostitution, pornography, homosexuality and divorce.”
They estimate that, in as little as 10 years, the country would run out of virgins.
Women in Saudi Arabia have been actively challenging the kingdom’s status quo in recent months, engaging in drive-in protests that have resulted in several arrests
Saudi’s ruling monarch, King Abdullah, has been flirting with women’s rights reforms, allowing women to participate in local elections and even serve on the royal advisory council. A woman sentenced to be lashed after she was caught driving had her sentence personally revoked by the king.
Though the country is far from a liberal mecca, all these factors have likely contributed to hyperbolic exaggeration on the part of Saudi’s Muslim scholars, who see their influence over the Shura Council waning.

TW: CISSEXISM AND BRUTAL VIOLENCE
… imagine a 19-year-old girl being dropped off at an acquaintance’s home by a taxi on a Sunday night and finding three men on the lawn waiting for her. Imagine them kidnapping, torturing, decapitating, dismembering and burning her alive for sport, as young, raucous boys would to a Barbie doll. Imagine them chucking her torso on the side of a highway, with absolutely no regret or sense of immorality. Imagine being the mother called into the morgue to identify a defiled torso as your daughter. Swallow that bitter pill of reality and tell me that marriage is the most important issue for the LGBT community in 2011. For several in the transgender community, it might as well be 1969 all over again, because nothing has changed for them.

considering this could be me one day, gay marriage really needs to get fucking legalized. this whole marriage debate is fucking stupid and it needs to end. fislkfjsfjsafljfm sd,fadsa.
This. Just this.
swear to fuck if this ever happens to me
i will
not be a happy camper
My mom always talks about how same-sex couples should “get over the fact that they can’t get married”
hey mom
guess what
screw you
It’s back. ;A;
This makes me so sad.
can i just cry
omg im choking on tears right now
hehe showing this to my mom in an effort to make her stop being a bible-driven idiot
I think this nicely and easily sums up why gay marriage is an issue that cannot be ignored and swept away under a rug because conservative religious people find it uncomfortable.  Marriage comes with specific rights that couples sharing their lives should be entitled to!

The 'Weakness' of Transgens
Something that has always baffled me is the bias of the General Public (TM) towards seeing transgens as 'weak' or 'confused'.  Dare I even say 'brainwashed by those touchy-feely psychologists'.  Wait, I do dare, since I just did.
I don't propose to go into an immense diatribe on the subject, but I do want to ask one question, if I may.
Do you honestly think that someone would willingly put themselves through a process that is chemically invasive, exhausting, mentally fraught, that leaves them wide open to public ridicule, humiliation and insults, that makes them a target for murder, abuse and backwards treatment, that may push them out of a job market, that will make them the butt of ignorant jokes in television, radio and film ...
IF.  THEY.  WEREN'T.  STRONG?
Just think about that, okay?
Transgens are the strongest people I have had the privilege to meet and talk to.  It takes courage to take the necessary steps to achieving your own happiness and tolerable life.  It takes courage to see how dangerous the road is, but to walk it anyway.  It takes more guts than the average person will ever need to find to step out of your house in a form of dress that defies societies expectations of your perceived gender.
A "man" in a dress, learning to walk in high heels is a thousand times stronger than the man strutting around in the gym working on his biceps.
I'm sorry, cisgens, but you don't get to call transgens weak.  Because they aren't.
(I have used transwomen as my example, because the jokes and abuses aimed at them are more blatant and stemming from cis-men's fear that their own manhood is being threatened)

Some fan trolls I'm sure I've uploaded a few of earlier.  A few friends and I decided we would make fan trolls based on the Nordic runes.
My personal favourite in this bunch is the Perthro troll "Hunter".  I tried to get his facial features closer to Adam Baldwin (who he has the voice of) but it wasn't a great attempt on my part, XD.  Creatively I also like the Fehu troll "Aurumo", the first in this sequence, he has a more distinct costume.
The Thurisaz troll at the end is the most dull design.  Bleah.

The Solar Sentry I'm not sold on her face, but anyone meeting Solar in game will discover why I don't know what her face looks like. Her player came up with the concept that nobody DOES know what she looks like, facially, because she eternally emits this solar glow. Her costume in the game is not this distinct, it's based on the justice set, but since this is original art, I thought stuff it. I gave her shield designs with a sun motif for obvious reasons. The only thing I haven't put on is her backpack, which all rangers carry. My inspiration for rangers, in the Anomie universe, always comes from the smell of waxed canvas. My father and a lot of the men one generation up in the family were in the Armed Forces, so big green backpacks, stout, waterproof boots and the smell of that waxed canvas was very much a part of my childhood. The rangers are tough people, they walk everywhere, usually ahead of their mounted counterparts, the Riders. Kejsa is the District Commander of the Rangers in Albany and Erin. She is never seen without her sword. Not seen are the many knives she has hidden in her coat, sleeves and boots. Kejsa Lavtfjord copyright Matt Benedict-Calico

Been thinking out clothing and cultural elements for my novels, and one thing that stood out to me was how weak a grasp I had on how Kejsa, a central character to plot, looked. She's one the greatest, if not THE greatest, swordsmasters in the world. I've never really been able to stop drawing her as puny though. So I went to find some pictures of naturally muscled women (not hyper-muscled body builders) and found a few good pictures of a swimmer showing off her six pack. The back's giving me some trouble but I think I've gotten to grips now with how built Kejsa should be from a life of hard exercise and hard combat. I'm a lot happier with her build now. I can SEE her strength, and her great sense of balance. Kejsa Lavtfjord copyrighted to me, Matt Benedict-Calico
