I just finished Rafayel's new myth story, Tears of Romirro, and I'm currently processing the angst that went down. Way to stab my heart 💔. In any case, because I'm still not over it, here's some angst with my named MC Muirenn.
We'll Meet Again...
Being locked back in the tower by Hawkern was most certainly unpleasant. He only kept her alive for her to interact with the tome. Muirenn hated him with every fiber in her being. He was a truly despicable man, obsessed with reviving Lemuria. He was no longer able to be considered human.
Meinrad had shown up and tried to save her earlier, but the former castellan had prepared for the scenario that someone would come. Hawkern had killed the man he believed to simply be a person who adored the bride of the Sea God while hatred grew in Muirenn's heart as she watched her father be killed by this despicable man.
Hawkern would burn in hell for the crimes he had committed against her. He would die.
The hatred didn't lessen when her missing memories were revived. If anything, it only added a new emptiness to her heart. When Hawkern told her to kill the Sea God, Muirenn only cursed Hawkern in her heart.
When she was freed, her blade did clash with Rafayel's trident, but their killing intent was focused on Hawkern. After having a conversation with Rafayel, Muirenn turned towards where Meinrad lay unmoving, the light in his eyes lost. Muirenn went to him and her throat closed up as she spoke.
"He tried to save me... He tried... Hawkern killed him..."
Rafayel watched her silently before speaking to her in a soft voice. "Lord Meinrad was an honorable man and a perfect match for Lady Arianrhod. He deserves to be buried with the utmost honor."
Muirenn held back her tears as she knelt beside the father that she had to love in secret. Before she could move to pick him up, Rafayel beat her to it.
"Let's take him to the shore. Knowing Lady Arianrhod's customs as a leviathan, she will wish to bury her husband in the ocean."
Muirenn nodded as she rose to her feet and followed Rafayel, feeling numb as she stared at the cold corpse that was her father. They made it to the shore where a humanoid woman with draconic features waited for them. Muirenn had to stop herself from sobbing at the sadness in her mother's eyes.
"Lady Arianrhod, your husband was an honorable man and gave up his life trying to save my bride. I regret not being there in time to stop Hawkern from committing such an atrocious deed."
Muirenn watched Arianrhod take Meinrad's body in her arms and carefully smooth his hair out of his face. The tenderness nearly choked Muirenn as the tears welled up in her eyes.
These were the parents who she had been forced to love in secret, who gave her every drop of love that they could despite circumstances, and now her father lay dead in her mother's arms because he had tried to save her from a fate worse than death.
Muirenn hadn't realized that she had fallen to her knees until she heard Rafayel's voice calling for her through the ringing in her ears. Muirenn hadn't even realized that the tears had started flowing until she felt his thumbs brush them away.
"Muirenn! Muirenn, come back to us."
Muirenn finally acknowledged the words coming from Rafayel and turned her head towards him. Rafayel was wiping away her tears, his eyes wide as though he was seeing her for the first time.
"Rafayel..."
Rafayel looked at her. "I've never seen you express sorrow to such a profound degree... Was Lord Meinrad important to you?"
Muirenn swallowed before she let the secret in her heart be shared with one person. "He was... my father..."
The air almost seemed to freeze as Rafayel inhaled sharply. "Your father...?"
Muirenn felt her throat close up again. Then, she heard footsteps approach her. Muirenn turned to see her mother in front of her, still holding her father's body. Arianrhod stroked her hair.
"You're allowed to weep. If only for tonight... You should give yourself the chance to grieve..."
Muirenn felt the tears rise again as she looked at Meinrad and how still he was. Her hands trembled and quaked before she embraced the body of her father...
... and let herself wail for the first time.
...
Arianrhod knew all that was to come. Having inherited the gift of foresight from her great great great great great great great grandparents, the first of the sea dragon leviathans, Arianrhod saw many paths that often stretched out before her. She had foreseen the death of her husband.
It was an unavoidable future. With how attached Meinrad was to his daughter, it was no surprise that he'd run to her rescue despite the danger that awaited him. All Arianrhod could do was make peace with that.
It had been hard though, seeing Muirenn wail as she grieved the father that she had to love in secret. All Arianrhod could do was grieve in her heart as she let her daughter express her grief. No mother wanted to see their child in pain, no matter what sort of circumstances there were.
The Sea God Rafayel had let Muirenn grieve, though Arianrhod saw the way he looked at Muirenn as though he wanted to make those tears disappear. He was probably unknowingly smitten with her, even after everything that happened.
When Muirenn finally stopped weeping and wailing, she only sniffed and hiccupped. That was when Rafayel went to her and picked her up, holding her against his chest. "Let's go back to the temple. Your mother will want to bear your father in peace."
Arianrhod watched as Muirenn only nodded against his neck. Rafayel gave Arianrhod a nod before he carried Muirenn back to the temple. Arianrhod watched them go before she dove into the water.
Meinrad would be buried under the ocean in the sand. That way no human could disturb his burial site. Arianrhod dug a deep hole in the sand before laying her husband to rest, covering his body with the sand. Then she waited.
Arianrhod knew what would come next. Her daughter's selflessness would lead to her giving Rafayel the heart he required through her death. It was the only way for Rafayel to regain his power.
Still, nothing had prepared Arianrhod for watching as Muirenn used the covenant between her and Rafayel to make him stab her, giving her heart, her love, and her life to the Sea God. Arianrhod watched as her daughter dissolved into nothing in Rafayel's arms. The immediate future was completed.
Arianrhod exhaled before she swam towards the bottom of the ocean, transforming into her true leviathan form. This was not the end. Of that, she was certain.
Arianrhod had looked far ahead in the future and had seen them. Her husband, Meinrad, reincarnated as a selkie who would become her husband again and her daughter, Muirenn, reincarnated as a perfect mix of the two who would be her daughter again.
It was with this future in mind that Arianrhod closed her eyes...
... and fell into a deep slumber.
...
Muirenn woke up with a startled gasp, panting as her entire body trembled like she had just fought a horde of Wanderers.
A groan at her side startled her before she turned her head to see Rafayel's bleary eyes staring at her. Why was he...? Oh, right, Muirenn had spent Ebb Day with him and-
... that certainly explained the pain in her lower half and the fact that the bed wasn't her bed. Muirenn sighed to herself.
Rafayel sat up, still sleepy. "Cutie, why are you up...? Go back to bed..."
Muirenn looked at him. He was surprisingly blurry for some reason. "I'm fine... I just feel like I woke up from a bad dream..."
"That's fine. It's just... Are you crying?"
Muirenn blinked before she wiped at her eyes, feeling the tear stains on her face. "Oh... I guess I was... Strange... Why was I crying...?"
Rafayel embraced her, pulling her close. "It doesn't matter right now. I want to get some sleep with you. It's 5 am and we were up nearly all night."
Muirenn nodded before she relaxed, shutting her eyes. Her parents were alive and well. Her father wasn't dead. Rafayel was his usual self. She wasn't dead.
It was just a dream.
...Some Sunny Day

Adding lore to the parents I made for my LADS MC Muirenn. So, some lore for Meinrad and Arianrhod and a few crumbs for Muirenn:
Arianrhod is a leviathan, specifically a sea dragon (because the definition of a leviathan is basically a sea monster so I just went with dragon). She's actually one of the last of her kind (leviathans as a whole) due to humans slaughtering a lot of her kin (she got out of that fate by being asleep for centuries at the very bottom of the ocean).
When Arianrhod went up to the surface in her humanoid form at night (because she wanted to), she saw a seal turn into a man and short circuited. That seal was Meinrad, Muirenn's selkie father. Arianrhod was also so very curious and so approached Meinrad.
Meanwhile, Meinrad had just noticed Arianrhod stalking towards him and was about to make up some kind of excuse about his seal skin before Arianrhod started sniffing him. Meinrad also ended up short circuiting because barely anything was covering Arianrhod and he didn't want to be disrespectful.
Arianrhod liked Meinrad after their first meeting and kept finding ways to interact with him. Then they started courting each other without even knowing they were courting. They only found out after they tumbled into the sea together and saw each other as mates. Then it clicked for them.
Muirenn is currently the only child they have. They've discussed having more kids, but they've ultimately decided to wait until Muirenn consents to having a sibling. And Muirenn does want a sibling, it's just that she also knows she would be overprotective. She's still juggling that option.
Meinrad and Arianrhod both wear necklaces with a tooth as the singular charm. The teeth came from a shark that Arianrhod killed in one blow while she was carrying Muirenn. Meinrad fell in love with her even more when he saw that.
Muirenn was born from a literal egg that Arianrhod's body produced during her cycle that Meinrad fertilized. Except she didn't tumble out a leviathan and instead tumbled out as a little seal. Both of her parents are still questioning how that was possible, but they love their little hybrid baby anyway.
... Except for when they had the sex talk when Muirenn was 14 and Muirenn wondered if her body would make eggs or if she'd have live young. Meinrad and Arianrhod were just as stumped as she was and forbade her from fucking around and finding out. Muirenn kept on badgering them until Arianrhod put her in her seal skin and then tossed her in the ocean (Muirenn was unscathed).
When Muirenn was taken by EVER when she was 4, Meinrad and Arianrhod went apeshit and collapsed several districts to the point where many thought that dozens of cities would be wiped out overnight. Thankfully, both parents had more restraint, but that didn't stop them from destroying a lot of districts. Both Arianrhod and Meinrad became known as the "Harbingers of Calamity" due to their rage and strength.
The reason Muirenn recognized her parents when she saw them again was because of their scents that she knew intimately. So, Muirenn recognized her parents and clung to them for a bit before meeting Josephine again and dubbing her 'Grandma' (she didn't remember Josephine, but there was a pull). Her parents tolerate Josephine.
After training Muirenn to be a war goddess, Meinrad and Arianrhod left Linkon when Muirenn was 18 with promises to keep in touch, choosing to settle in the N109 Zone. Anyone who attempted to stop them was taken down immediately. Nobody could really stop the "Harbingers of Calamity" after all.
The two behaved as enforcers in the lawless zone, paving their way forward. Arianrhod and Meinrad were a neutral part in the grand scheme of things. That was why some people came to them to form a group, wishing to be on the neutral side. Meinrad and Arianrhod trained all of the members of the group themselves, putting them all through hell to make them grow stronger.
Arianrhod was the one who eventually named their syndicate "Silver Hydra" and no one opposed her. Everyone knew that she was the boss and Meinrad was the boss that followed the lead of his wife. All of their subordinates know how faithful Meinrad is to his wife. They have seen him worship the ground she walks on.
Meinrad eventually appointed five of the elites of Silver Hydra to slip into the Hunter's Association to monitor Muirenn. He doesn't tell them to monitor her constantly, but he does tell them to help her out if she's ever in a bind and someone else can't help her. So five of Silver Hydra's elites are lurking in the Hunter's Association because Meinrad is worried about his daughter.
Arianrhod's blue hair is natural. The reason why it's a darker blue is because of how long she spent sleeping at the bottom of the ocean with no sunlight. Muirenn's blue hair is dyed. At least that's what she tells people. The truth is that her hair started turning blue when she was younger and she had Caleb dye her hair to cover it up. The dye was a temporary one, but others plus Caleb thought it was permanent due to how it never faded out. Because of how long she spent in the sun on the surface, Muirenn's hair is a brighter blue. Her hair was black before it turned blue.
Silver Hydra as a whole acts as an enforcer group that keeps other groups in line. They are the most neutral group but are also one of the more dangerous ones. They have very few allies and most are unknown to others. The only known ally they have is Onychinus, who they've given information about enemies to. Meinrad and Arianrhod trust Sylus as an associate and nothing else, but they are willing to cooperate with him unless he crosses the line. Then they kindly refuse. Sylus never pushes them to help because they are far more dangerous as a pair.
The exact number of people in Silver Hydra is unknown to the public and everyone else, but everyone knows that there are two bosses that are a dangerous pair. The Hunter's Association never wants to try their luck against them. Except for Muirenn who knows she'll come away unscathed because the bosses are her parents and their fights are usually just sparring matches.
Meinrad and Arianrhod aren't exactly hands off parents, but they don't try to get involved in everything their daughter does. They give her the freedom to explore what she wants to do while also taking care of her when she's sick and making her stay in bed when she's sick. Though Arianrhod does get a little intense, aiming an unloaded gun at Muirenn's chest and raising a brow whenever Muirenn tries to tough out her sickness. Muirenn has just stared before laying back down. Muirenn knows its unloaded, but never wants to try her luck.
Everyone in Silver Hydra knows about Muirenn being the daughter of their bosses and they often refer to her as "Madam Falkenrath" because the titles of "lord" and "lady" belong to her parents. The five elites that are hiding out as hunters in the Hunter's Association don't call her that, but they do bow to her on occasion when addressing her by name. Muirenn just raises a brow and then goes on with her day.
Meinrad definitely grew his hair out for his daughter and wife to play with. Arianrhod still braids his hair for him.
And that's about all I can think about! If there are any more questions, please let me know. Below is a picture of Arianrhod nuzzling her face into Meinrad's hair (the only time she appears relaxed) while Meinrad relaxes (he's in a blissful state of mind).

So, you all know how the Love and Deepspace MC is technically an orphan because of EVER? Well, I decided to throw canon out the window and gave my LADS MC Muirenn parents.
Her father's name is Meinrad Falkenrath. Meinrad is a Germanic name derived from Old German elements megin ("power, strength") and rat ("counsel, advice"). Her mother's name is Arianrhod Falkenrath. Arianrhod is a Celtic name that means "silver wheel". The last name Falkenrath is derived from Middle High German falke ("falcon") and rat ("counsel, advice").
Muirenn's parents kept their daughter safe until EVER took her for their experiments. Muirenn was 4 when she was taken. Meinrad and Arianrhod collapsed several districts looking for her as a result and eventually found Muirenn after the lab explosion. Muirenn remembered them perfectly due to her imprinting on her parents.
Muirenn's parents are not human. Meinrad is a selkie and is considered a fae being. Arianrhod, by comparison, is a leviathan that can take on a human skin (which is how she met Meinrad). Muirenn is a hybrid being that her parents lovingly call a "selthan".
Meinrad and Arianrhod settled down in the N109 Zone after spending plenty of time with Muirenn due to the reputation the two of them had after collapsing several districts. The two of them eventually started leading a group of their own called "Silver Hydra". It's considered a high level syndicate that acts as an enforcer group that's highly neutral.
Muirenn uses a shortened version of her family name so that people don't immediately make connections. She introduces herself as "Muirenn Falken" on paper when her real name is Muirenn Falkenrath. So far, people are stupid and haven't made a connection yet. Muirenn is astounded by how dumb people are.
Below are Muirenn's parents and also an image with her. Might add lore on the parents later.

Had an idea that was too funny to pass up. Do any of you know the "Can I have my sweater back?", "Can I have my virginity back?", skit? Well, I decided to make that scenario with my named MC Muirenn and the 5 LIs because it was too funny to pass up (They haven't had sex. Muirenn is just being a little troll). Enjoy!
Xavier
Muirenn hummed to herself as she put the white sweater on and smiled to herself. She managed to raid Xavier's apartment and take the sweater he wore so much at home. It covered her body in a way that made the red shorts that made the bottom half of her relaxation clothes peek out just a few inches.
It was warm. Muirenn chuckled as she made herself dinner. Ah, she loved stealing other people's clothes. She did it all the time with Caleb to mess with him and now she had new victims–sorry, friends, to steal clothes from. God, she loved messing with people so much.
A knock at her door brought her out of her reverie just as she finished dinner. Turning the stove off, she went and opened the door.
Standing on the other side of the door, dressed in hunter gear, was Xavier. His eyes widened as he looked at her and Muirenn spoke before he could.
"Hey, you. Did you come here for anything?"
Xavier's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at her, taking note of her attire. "You're wearing my sweater..."
Muirenn smiled sweetly. "Stole it from your apartment. Don't leave soft, comfy clothes where I can snatch them up."
Xavier's eyes seemed to glitter with mirth as he approached her. "Can I have my sweater back?"
Muirenn's smile grew teeth as she replied. "I don't know, Xavier. Can I have my virginity back?"
Muirenn delighted in the way Xavier froze so suddenly. She giggled. Muirenn knew that she and Xavier had never done it, but it felt so satisfying to see his eyes widen and his mouth open and close the way it did.
Xavier looked down at her body before he closed the door behind him and scooped her up. Muirenn squeaked out of surprise. "Xavier?!"
Xavier stared at her with an intensity that made her shudder. "Muirenn... If you're going to tease me with such words, then I might as well act on them."
"Wait a minute! We've never-!"
"I know. We've never done it. But if you want to tease me about taking your virginity after stealing my sweater, then I have no choice."
Xavier gripped Muirenn's hips tightly. "I might as well take your virginity while you're wearing my sweater."
"Wait wait wait wait-!"
Muirenn squeaked as Xavier kissed her with an intensity that made her knees buckle. His eyes gleamed with an intense glow.
"You can only steal my clothes now. Keep my sweater on so I can ruin you in it."
Muirenn was trying to think of an escape when Xavier nipped her neck. "Do you understand? You can't steal anyone else's clothes once I'm done with you."
Muirenn averted her eyes. "I understand..."
"Good."
Xavier descended on her then.
Zayne
Muirenn whistled as she traipsed through Zayne's home, searching for something. Zayne was sleeping on his couch, so Muirenn hunted in her relaxation clothes. No point in staying in her gear when she didn't have to be at work immediately.
Muirenn eventually found the white coat Zayne wore when he went to work and giggled as she put it on. It was big on her, but Muirenn didn't mind. That was part of the reason why she loved stealing the clothes of other people. The big clothes surrounded by the scents of others soothed her.
Stealing clothes wasn't beneath her. She had done it all the time when she was younger, stealing the coats and sweaters that belonged to Caleb and Zayne. It became a habit as she grew older and her two main victims had remained Caleb and Zayne for the most part.
Muirenn was adjusting the coat on her and buttoning it up, giggling all the while. That childish, playful part of her had never truly left her no matter how many years it had been. She nuzzled her face into the collar of the lab coat, inhaling the faint scent of jasmine.
"It seems that I have a thief in my home."
Muirenn nearly jumped as she turned, locking eyes with Zayne. Zayne was staring at her. "Is there a reason that I'm dealing with theft?"
Muirenn hummed. "Maybe I'm just in the mood to steal your lab coat."
"May I have my lab coat back, Mui?"
"May I have my virginity back, Dr. Zayne?"
Muirenn blinked innocently at Zayne and took delight in the way Zayne froze with a slight twitch of his fingers. He seemed to calculate something before he frowned. "We have never engaged in sexual acts before."
Muirenn giggled. "I know, doctor~. I was just teasing you."
"I see. Then allow me to retaliate."
Muirenn was about to ask what he meant by that when she felt Zayne grasp her hips. "Someone needs to be punished for filling my head with nothing but making that question plausible. I'm not in the mood for jokes at the moment. But I am in the mood to make your words true."
Muirenn felt her heartbeat race as she looked at Zayne. "Zayne... I..."
Zayne brought one of her hands to his lips and kissed her knuckles. "Will you let me take it? Do I have your consent?"
Muirenn squeezed his hand before she nodded, face flushed red.
"Thank you. Now lean back and let your doctor take care of you."
Muirenn nodded to Zayne and got on the bed, leaning back as he followed her, kissing her knuckles.
Ah, what bliss it was to feel so loved...
Rafayel
When it came to the artist, it was always easy for Muirenn to break into Mo Art Studio. It didn't help that Rafayel left his door open. It was like he was asking for someone to come in and rob him blind. Except Muirenn had no interest in robbing Rafayel of expensive things.
No, Muirenn's goal was a more grand one. She knew that Rafayel had gone out earlier, so she, dressed in nothing but a tank top and shorts, went for the artist's bedroom to raid his closet. She was in the mood for clothes theft.
Muirenn's clothes stealing ways came from a habit she acquired in her youthful days that never left with age. Since then, she was always finding new victims to raid the closets of, mostly close friends since her family was... not around. Not that Muirenn minded.
Once she reached her destination, Muirenn dropped her bag and went for Rafayel's closet, rummaging through it while humming. She eventually found a sweater and pulled it out, throwing it on with a giggle and flapping the sleeves before inhaling the faint scent that clung to it. Smelled like the ocean.
Muirenn flopped on Rafayel's bed with a sigh, stretching as she burrowed her face in the fabric. Lost in her thoughts as she was, she didn't realize Rafayel was home until the bedroom door opened. She sat up quickly, only to lock eyes with a stunned Rafayel.
Rafayel's shock seemed to fade and he smiled as he looked at her. "Well, well, well. It looks like you've got a proficiency for clothes theft, miss bodyguard."
Muirenn chuckled. "Not my fault you leave your door open. If you didn't want me to steal your things, you would've had a proper security system."
"How cute. So, can I have my sweater back?"
"Can I have my virginity back?"
Muirenn almost regretted saying that, but it was worth it when she saw Rafayel stumble before he looked at her with wide eyes. His mouth opened and closed like a fish's mouth. "Wha...? But we've never...?"
Muirenn laughed at his expression. "I was joking! Stars, your face!"
Rafayel pouted at her while she laughed before he approached her, pinning her down on the bed with his body. "You're getting very bold, cutie. Should I take what you're doing as a cry for me to touch you?"
Muirenn immediately stopped laughing. "Wait just a second-"
"Why should I? You look too perfect to resist. Keep my sweater on though. You'll look pretty ruined and it'll just accentuate you."
Muirenn felt her heart racing. "Rafayel, please-"
Rafayel smiled down at her. "Mm, keep begging. It suits you."
"Bastard-"
Muirenn made a surprised noise as Rafayel kissed her hard enough to bruise.
She had work tomorrow damnit!
Sylus
Muirenn hardly trusted Sylus at all moments. Despite her efforts to be cordial with the leader of Onychinus and the twins (the twins were surprisingly growing on her), there was something about him that always rubbed her the wrong way. Maybe it was just the fact that she was more lawful.
Still, Muirenn had arrived at Sylus' place on a mission. She had greeted Luke and Kieran like normal, even said hi to Mephisto. Then she went hunting through the house for her mission objective. It was a tad bit surprising that no one followed her, but it was good for Muirenn's mission.
Muirenn slipped into Sylus' room and closed the door. Then she prowled through the room and started rummaging through the closet. She pulled out the comfiest sweater she had ever touched and grabbed it, slipping it on with a giggle.
Muirenn loved stealing the clothes of others. It was a habit from her youth that extended to adulthood, starting with Zayne and Caleb and now including some of her closest companions. While Sylus was semi on that list, Muirenn could honestly care less. That wouldn't stop her act of theft.
Muirenn flopped on Sylus' bed, burying her face in the comfy sweater with a giggle. She smiled as she did so. Though she was too distracted to notice how the twins had taken a picture of her and sent it to Sylus, she did sense them and looked up just as they scattered like the wind. Muirenn only sighed.
She stayed where she was before feeling arms around her waist. Muirenn nearly jerked violently, but an unmistakable chuckle sounded from behind her. Sylus was back. Sooner than she had expected. Didn't the twins say he was busy?
"It looks like the kitten does have a taste for things that are expensive."
Muirenn turned her head to look back at him. "I thought that you were busy."
Sylus looked at her with a smug smile. "I was busy. But then Luke and Kieran decided to snitch on you by sending a picture of you wearing one of my sweaters. I had to come back home and see you for myself."
Muirenn huffed. "Figures..."
"So, can I have this sweater back, sweetie?"
"I don't know, Sylus. Can I have my virginity back?"
Muirenn nearly regretted her impulsive words, but she nearly snickered at the minute shock on Sylus' face. It was subtle, a slight widening of the eyes and a slight parting of the lips. Muirenn only saw it because she was close to him.
The shock only seemed to last for a few seconds before Sylus chuckled, pulling Muirenn closer to him and then moving so that he now hovered over her.
"How cute, kitten. You think you can say that and get away with what you did?"
Muirenn looked at Sylus, surprised. "Sylus?"
Sylus took one of her hands and kissed her palm, yet the hunger in his gaze made Muirenn freeze, her breathing hitching.
"May I, sweetie?"
Muirenn wanted desperately to struggle and get away, but her heart betrayed her, pounding against her ribs. Words failed her as she turned her head away, not wanting to imagine how red her cheeks were.
Sylus was patient though. Muirenn could feel his eyes on her. After a while, she murmured. "I will bite."
Sylus chuckled and Muirenn felt his lips on her cheek. "I would have you no other way, sweetie. I expected sharp claws from you. It only makes me desire you more."
Muirenn blushed harder. Damn that smooth talker. She huffed. "You may... have me..."
"Perfect. Keep the sweater on though. If you want to joke about me taking your virginity after I asked for my sweater, then I might as well take it while you wear my sweater."
Muirenn shrieked as Sylus descended on her with a burning hunger in his eyes.
Meanwhile, Luke and Kieran looked up from their game and blinked in unison at the sound of a loud shriek coming from their boss's room.
"Do you think Miss Hunter needs help?"
"... No, she can handle herself."
They were not getting involved with what their boss was doing.
Caleb
Going to Skyhaven was often a challenge for Muirenn due to her work, but she had recently gotten an approved "vacation" from her captain, Jenna. So, Muirenn skipped along humming while dragging her suitcase behind her.
Since she had recently found many a way to break into Caleb's place, Muirenn simply broke in while carrying her belongings for her stay. After checking the time on her phone, Muirenn went to Caleb's room to go hunting for what she wanted.
Muirenn had mostly stolen Caleb's clothes while they were growing up, always coming up with one reason or another to get out of being scolded. Since no one bothered to have her change her ways of clothes theft, it became a habit for Muirenn to steal the clothes of her closest friends. Nothing beat stealing Caleb's clothes though. Mostly because she liked his clothes most.
Muirenn eventually found the DAA jacket Caleb had worn a lot before the explosion and slipped it on. It was cool to the touch, an emphasis on how little it was worn since the explosion, but Muirenn could care less. It faintly smelled like home. It was nearly enough to make Muirenn weep, but she settled for fidgeting with her star accessories instead.
So much had changed for her and Caleb. Their relationship... Did they still have one?
Pull yourself together, Muirenn. You're going to make yourself depressed again if you keep thinking like that.
Muirenn took a few deep breaths before she moved her suitcase into Caleb's room. Then she climbed into Caleb's bed. The bed was cold. Caleb hadn't been home for a long while then. Muirenn pulled the blanket over herself and settled into the sheets, falling asleep in almost an instant.
Muirenn slept fitfully for a long few hours before she felt the bed dip next to her and a thumb brushing over her cheek. Muirenn opened her eyes, finding her surroundings unnaturally blurry. And then she realized that she had been crying.
Ah... More nightmares then. They were, unfortunately for Muirenn's very unstable mental state, very common.
"Caleb...?"
A soft chuckle reached her ears. "I'm right here. I've been waiting for you to wake up so you can explain your crimes to me."
Her crimes? Muirenn blinked at him. Caleb pinched her nose. "Breaking and entering. Theft. You've gotten crafty, haven't you, pips?"
Muirenn wrinkled her nose before swatting his hand away. "I just missed you... What, am I not allowed to miss you now?"
Caleb looked at her with a fond expression. "You are. I'm just wondering how you managed to break into my apartment."
"You left your windows open."
"Pips, my home is-"
"I scaled the wall."
"... With your luggage?"
"Yes."
The two of them had a long staring contest before Caleb shook his head. "You're determined to give me grey hairs, aren't you?"
Muirenn smiled at that, chuckling. "Maybe."
"So, can I have this jacket back, pips?"
"Can I have my virginity back, Colonel?"
Muirenn was mostly saying the words to tease Caleb, but seeing his dumbfounded expression as he got deep in thought made her chortle.
She had laughed a little bit too soon though, because Muirenn felt Caleb grab her and roll her until she was underneath him. His eyes were blazing with hunger.
"You know that I haven't touched you like that, pips. Now you joke about me taking your virginity? Should I take that as a sign that you want me to take it? Because I will, pips. I'll do it."
Muirenn was caught off guard by Caleb's possessive words, but then she felt her heart race. God, of all the things that could've changed... And Muirenn was the catalyst.
Caleb's hands gripped her waist tightly. "You better speak up now about what you want. Because once I start, I'm not going to stop. And if you want to tease me with my title, then you better be prepared to use it."
Muirenn felt many things at once, but some part of her made her smile viciously. "I'm afraid I've always had a tendency to disobey orders, Caleb."
Caleb's eyes narrowed at her. "Trying to be a brat, huh? I think it's time you had some correction from your Colonel. And you will be calling me by the correct title later."
Muirenn's vicious smile only grew teeth. "Do your worst."
Thank everything she had the foresight to extend her vacation to two weeks.

How my named MC Muirenn got her moon markings in the "Tomorrow's Catch-22" event. This story is centered around Caleb's card "Tainted Cuts". Finally did this, thank GOD.
The Tainted Moon
Muirenn had known Caleb for years now. They both survived together in the lawless Southern District, trusting each other with their lives. At least, Muirenn certainly trusted Caleb. She shared her food with him and let him watch over the places where they slept while she rested. That required trust.
Muirenn had joined Caleb one night while he was keeping watch and fell asleep against him, trusting him with her life since it was necessary. In the Southern District, where lawlessness ran rampant, trust was a commodity that couldn't be used sparingly. But there was something about Caleb that made Muirenn trust him. Maybe it was simply his aura.
Caleb was Muirenn's strength, her eyes, and her chaos. Muirenn was Caleb's brains, his planner, and his balance. In her eyes, the two of them were most perfectly matched and she didn't say that about just anyone. Then again, not many people could be trusted so much in such a lawless place.
Whenever the two found a safe place during a cold night, they always huddled together for warmth. Caleb was warm and Muirenn loved feeling his body against hers because of that warmth. It made her feel safer than she ever knew. And that was a rare feeling that she savored. Who knew how long these days would last after all?
When Caleb showed up one day with what looked like tattoo supplies, Muirenn blinked. "Why do you have that kind of stuff? Are we selling it?"
Caleb laughed as he ruffled her hair, making Muirenn flush and scowl. She batted his hand away while he smiled. "C'mon, pips. I thought that we could get a good use out of this. Took me a lot of effort to get it after all."
Muirenn stared at him. "Neither of us know how to do tattoos, Caleb."
Caleb hummed. "Yeah, true, but what if I want to make you my first canvas? Ink your skin with a reminder of our time together. Remember that blue moon we saw together?"
Muirenn's spine straightened as she nodded. That moment was one she remembered well. Caleb had confessed to her that he wished they could always stay the way they were. But Muirenn knew something was changing. She and Caleb weren't kids anymore. They were getting close to adulthood and they were changing, both in body and in mind.
Still, Muirenn looked at Caleb calmly. "And what about you? Will you let me give you a tattoo as well?"
Caleb smiled sincerely at her in a way that made her heart constrict. "I would be honored to bear a mark from you on my skin, Muir."
Muirenn stared at Caleb as her pulse raced dangerously fast. She cleared her throat. "Alright then. Let's do it."
Caleb lit up at her acceptance and got the tools ready. Muirenn pinned her bangs back to have her face clear. She already knew that Caleb would want to put her tattoo where it could be seen by others.
Muirenn closed her eyes and put her faith in Caleb as he tattooed her face. She held very still and kept her face from twitching, not wanting to ruin the tattoo. Caleb had steady hands as he tattooed her face, making Muirenn relax. He was very confident about this, so she had no reason to worry.
When he pulled away after finishing, Muirenn opened her eyes and met her own eyes staring back at her as a mirror (that Caleb doubtlessly stole) reflected her face back at her. A full moon tattooed in the center of her forehead, a rhombus between her eyes on her nose, and a crescent moon on each cheek, their points facing each other. She had to admit, it looked nice.
When Caleb passed the tools to her, Muirenn was hesitant about putting a tattoo on him for fear that she'd end up doing a horrible job. Still, Caleb didn't relent and guided her hand to grab the tools. Muirenn swallowed before she grabbed his arm and started tattooing his forearm.
Muirenn focused hard on making the shape she wanted to make, trying her hardest not to screw up. Caleb just smiled and watched, but she did bite his hand when he tried to pat her on the head before continuing her work. She didn't want to mess this up.
When she was finally finished, she pulled back to reveal the final shape, two intricate daggers crossed together, one with a flower and vines on the hilt and the other with splatters on the blade. Muirenn made it to symbolize them. Caleb was her protector, allowing flowers to bloom in her heart that had once been sharp and cold, keeping her blade clean by dirtying his own blade.
Muirenn exhaled a sigh of relief upon seeing it. It looked perfect. Caleb looked absolutely starstruck by it. Then he smiled. "I love it, Muir. It's perfect."
He then kissed the tip of her nose before they cuddled up together, making sure not to ruin their new tattoos.
If only these moments could last forever...
...
Muirenn had joined the LCBI years later, but she never forgot Caleb. When they had gotten separated, Muirenn had fallen into a depressive slump. She blamed herself, always thought about what she could've done differently. Then she just threw herself into work because there wasn't anything else she could do.
Muirenn never told any of her colleagues about Caleb, nor did she tell them anything about her life with him. But whenever anyone asked about the tattoos on her face, she would grow distant as she touched the tattoos fondly and offered a faint explanation.
"They're from the other half of my heart."
None of her coworkers asked again, something Muirenn was grateful for. No doubt they were assuming that they had come from someone she lost. It was better that way. It would stop any more questions.
It was after another late night that she was leaving with some of her coworkers. A couple of them were rambling. Something about a new councilman? Muirenn could honestly care less. So what if he was young, handsome, and an eligible bachelor? The only person Muirenn really cared about was Caleb.
"Ooh, there he is!"
"The new councilman really is handsome!"
Muirenn looked up, ready to drag him down so that her female coworkers would shut up-
-and froze in place when her eyes landed on the incredibly familiar figure of her past.
Caleb?! What is he doing here?! He's the new councilman?!
Muirenn stared at the councilman, who she recognized as Caleb. Then her surprise faded into burning rage. She was going to bite him for leaving her alone to pick up her broken pieces.
It seemed that she had been staring for too long because Caleb noticed her. He did a slight double take before he focused on her and grinned like an excited puppy. Muirenn cursed inwardly and scowled at him, but he was already running for her.
Muirenn tensed like she was ready to fight as Caleb approached her, sweeping her into his arms. Muirenn yelped and tried to struggle, but Caleb had always been more muscular than she was.
"L-Let go of me, you bastard! Get your hands off of me!"
Muirenn was flustered, heart racing in her chest. Caleb rubbed his cheek against hers. "Oh, pips, I'm not letting you go right now. Not when I've waited ages to see you again."
Muirenn averted her eyes, pouting. "Shut up."
"I love you too."
Muirenn stared at Caleb's shamelessly happy expression and bit his neck hard, hoping to get his jugular and make him bleed.
The bastard had the audacity to moan in response. Muirenn pulled away while cringing. "Caleb, what the fuck-"
Caleb only grinned at her. "That was so kinky, pips."
"I was trying to kill you."
"That's hot. Do it again."
Muirenn punched him while blushing.
"Shut up, you bastard!"

How my named MC Muirenn got her moon markings in the "Tomorrow's Catch-22" event. This story is in Zayne's card "Immediate Disorder". I hope you all enjoy.
The Warden's Moon
Being in prison wasn't too bad, all things considered. Sure, Muirenn was locked up and had to restrain herself from biting all the Praedators that looked at her weird, but at least she wasn't dealing with her colleagues who wanted her indisposed.
Being an informant for the warden, Zayne, was probably way better for her soul than dealing with the LCBI who wanted to get rid of her. Muirenn had already weighed the pros and cons and had already made estimated guesses on how long she'd last in several scenarios. None of the ones that involved releasing her early favored her well. So, with that in mind, Muirenn accepted being an informant for Zayne instead of getting out of prison.
It was actually working out well in her favor being here. Sure, she had already thrown a few Praedators around for stress relief (and then promptly fought with the guards who tried to stop her, much to Zayne's exasperation and amusement), but none of them seemed to mind. In fact, she had received friendly slaps on the shoulder from some of the Praedators she had slammed into the ground.
So, prison life was going well so far with very minor hiccups. She had a way to release stress and keep from getting bored to tears, and she recently started venting to some of the other prisoners who were eager to hear what was on her mind. She even took out the ribbon that held her hair in its ponytail to allow some of the people she vented to the opportunity to play with her hair while she vented.
Muirenn didn't really care much about her hair being played with. But when Zayne came over to her one day while she was venting, most likely to find her for a report, he had looked at the Praedators hanging around her and promptly growled at the ones playing with her hair. Muirenn heard them squeak as they stopped what they were doing. Muirenn sighed.
"Alright, guess he's impatient today..."
Muirenn stood up, moving to put her hair back into a ponytail. Her ribbon was snagged out of her hands by Zayne though and before she could protest, he was already leading her away, running a hand through her hair. Muirenn looked at him with a withering look.
"May I have my ribbon back?"
Zayne only spared her a glance. "Later."
Muirenn growled. "Zayne, I swear to every living thing-"
Muirenn could tell that Zayne was pretending not to listen to her as she tried to threaten him. She was so caught up in getting onto him that she hardly realized that he was distracting himself from her lecturing by playing with her hair. But some of the prisoners took notice of it.
By the time Muirenn got out of Zayne's office and back to her usual group (thankfully with her ribbon safely stowed away, they were all murmuring about something. When Muirenn caught their attention, one of them greeted her. "Hey, Mui-mui! Glad you survived. I was worried that with how jealous the warden was, he might've locked you in his office."
Muirenn stared at them. "What do you mean? He wasn't jealous."
Her group stared at her for a few seconds before one of the others spoke up. "Sweet mother of everything, you're an idiot."
"... Excuse ME?!"
Another fight was reported to the warden in the span of several minutes after Muirenn left his office.
...
Muirenn learned that thinking too much in a place like the prison was dangerous. But she couldn't help but drum her fingers against her cheeks as she stared at Zayne as he talked with one of the prison guards. Ever since her group brought up the possibility of him being jealous, Muirenn had been watching him to disprove that claim.
"Watching the warden again?"
Muirenn watched her usual group as they joined her, undoing the hair ribbon to let the two who usually sat next to her play with it. Muirenn hummed in response. "It's hard to tell what he's thinking. He looks quite impassive."
One of the girls raised a brow. "Are you watching his face or his body?"
"Does it make a difference?"
"Girl, really?"
One of the guys snickered. "C'mon, we all know that she has a low emotional intelligence. Of course she doesn't know where to look. When it comes to emotions, she's stupid."
Muirenn glared at him and opened her mouth to say something, but the temperature dropped several degrees before she could. Her eyes flitted to Zayne, who had clearly finished his conversation due to his lack of a companion, and noticed him staring intently at the Praedator male who had spoken.
Muirenn waved a hand, making Zayne take notice of her instead. The temperature eased up as his face seemed to relax. Zayne nodded to her and Muirenn nodded back. A couple of the people in her group chortled.
Once Zayne was dragged into another conversation, some of the Praedators in the group started to laugh. Muirenn was impassive throughout it all.
"Did you see that?!"
"The warden looked so angry!"
"Who knew that all it takes is insulting his female to get his attention?"
Muirenn's head snapped towards the male who spoke. "I'm sorry, his what now?"
The male tilted his head. "His female? We figure that the warden likes you and wants you to be his female."
"That's not it."
"Defensive."
"Shut it."
One of the other girls lit up. "You should get a tattoo!"
Muirenn was confused. What did the warden have to do with getting a tattoo? One of the other guys explained. "It's a ritual in the prison to get tattoos as a mark of strength. Most of the time, it's weaponry. And more often than not, we can hide our tattoos from sight."
Muirenn nodded. "I see. What does that have to do with the warden though?"
"Yours is going to be visible."
Muirenn was silent for a good few minutes as her expression became withering. Then one of the ladies piped up. "Visible tattoos are marks of high strength. And when they're on the face, it's likely an allusion to a connection with a SSS-class Praedator. An intimate connection. And considering what the warden is..."
Muirenn stared. "I'm not getting a tattoo."
Her group only smiled before carting her off while Zayne wasn't looking. No amount of cursing could dissuade them. They only dropped her off in a cell with the person who did the tattoos in the prison before they ran off.
So, Muirenn got her bangs pinned back and was struggling not to bite the person who patted her face and spoke comfortingly to her while going over different designs with her. Muirenn made her choice after several minutes.
Muirenn was silent for the entirety of getting her tattoo, mostly just contemplating her life choices for the entirety of the moment. The tattoo was pretty when it was done though. A full moon on her forehead, a rhombus between her eyes on her nose, and a crescent moon on each cheek, their points facing each other.
She had to stay put for a while, needing to let the ink dry before she let anyone touch her face. Not that she minded, the tattoo artist in the prison was good company.
It was the day she was set to leave her spot that the tattoo artist ran and hid. Muirenn was about to hide with him, but the sight of ice on the walls made her breathing hitch.
It wasn't long before Zayne, in full Praedator gear, entered the threshold of the impromptu tattoo parlor. He looked absolutely furious as his eyes trailed over her.
"So this is where you went."
Muirenn's brain finally caught up and she darted out of the chair she was sitting in, Zayne intercepted Muirenn's attempt at dodging him, freezing her wrists to one of the icy walls. Muirenn attempted to struggle, but Zayne growled.
"You're not avoiding me."
His fingers traced the lines of the face tattoos with a calculating touch. Then, before Muirenn could sputter out an excuse, Zayne nuzzled his cheek against her pulse point with a grumble.
"You're staying in my office for the duration of time you were with that tattoo artist."
The icy shackles released Muirenn's wrists, but she was dragged into Zayne's arms and carried off before she could attempt bolting again.
The warden was acting strange... Was this really over a tattoo?

How my named MC Muirenn got her moon markings in the "Tomorrow's Catch-22" event. This story takes place in Sylus' card "Innocent Birdcage".
A Mark of Loyalty
When Muirenn had first met Sylus, she had been a scared, homeless teenager who was desperate to survive this cruel world she lived in. Ducking into a building with a bleeding wound hadn't been ideal, but meeting Sylus and getting out of her current situation had been.
Of course, she felt bad for imposing on Wolfe, Sylus' contact, but the man took good care of her and didn't let her remain idle in the house. Wolfe gave her errands to run and even had her tinkering away making useful things for survival. Muirenn learned to never question Wolfe.
Her never asking questions certainly made it easy for Wolfe to ask questions instead. He asked her about her name, anything she knew from being on the streets, and about how she felt about Sylus. Muirenn did her best to answer Wolfe honestly, feeling that she owed him that much after he graciously accepted her as a ward after Sylus had practically dumped her into Wolfe's lap.
When it came to his question about how she felt about Sylus though, the question gave Muirenn pause. She didn't know how she honestly felt about Sylus, but she knew a couple things about him. So, she put together the best answer she could.
"Sylus is a strong man. Anyone can tell from looking at him that no matter how banged up he gets, he'll still get back on his feet."
Wolfe had given her a strange look when she said that before he spoke. "That's nice. But I asked how you felt, Falkenrath."
Whenever Wolfe addressed her by her last name, Muirenn knew that he desired a more direct answer. So, she gave one. "I admire his strength and keen eye. I find that his intelligence is also admirable. He could certainly give everyone around him a run for their money what with how he succeeds at manipulating the games everyone plays. And I'm grateful to him, of course, for saving me."
Wolfe stared at her when she finished speaking, but Muirenn ignored his staring in favor of the project in front of her. She was so close to finishing what she was working on, after all. It was only when she was applying the finishing touches to her pocket knife that Wolfe said something that made her choke.
"Is it finally time for me to fulfill my duties as a guardian and give the birds and the bees talk?"
Muirenn nearly dropped her knife as she whirled her head to look at him with wide eyes. "W-Where did that come from...?! What birds and bees?!"
Wolfe stared at her. "Muirenn, when two people hold feelings of lust for each other, they often want to engage in certain acts. I'm now going to tell you all about that so that you don't do anything stupid down the line."
"What would I be doing?!"
"Sylus."
"No!"
"You're still getting the talk, young lady."
And that was the day Muirenn suffered endlessly as Wolfe gave her the dreaded "talk". Muirenn forced herself to listen to the talk if only because Wolfe would give chase if she tried to run from talking about it.
The next day, when Sylus came by, Muirenn had vaulted over the table she was working and ran off because she was embarrassed about being given the talk and the fact that her guardian was hinting at something about her feelings for Sylus. Which there were none except for gratitude and admiration!
She heard Sylus ask Wolfe about her odd behavior and she heard the amusement in her guardian's voice when he spoke.
"I told her about the birds and the bees. She's now very embarrassed when it comes to others. Don't worry, she'll get over it."
Muirenn only groaned at that response. Of course her father figure would be instigating things like this. Wolfe loved embarrassing her.
And it turned out that she could only avoid Sylus for a week before he dragged her out of her room and threw her over his shoulder like she was just a sack of potatoes. And her cursing only made both Sylus and Wolfe amused.
Men...
...
Life seemed to continue on as normal for a bit and Muirenn settled into her routine as she grew into a young woman. Working with Wolfe was good for her and doing errands for Sylus had their perks. Still, nothing good lasted forever. Not in the Southern District.
The day she lost contact with Wolfe, Muirenn didn't sleep easily. It didn't help that there were watchers prowling around. The day she noticed them was the day she bolted every entrance to her room and locked everything dangerous away. If those watchers got in the house, she wanted nothing dangerous to be in their hands.
The day they busted in, Muirenn hid in a closet with a gun that she kept under her pillow. Muirenn was tense as she poised herself to attack. Luckily, she heard Sylus take care of them outside of where she was hidden. Then she heard him walk to the door and test the handle. Oh, right. She locked and bolted it.
"It's just me. You can let me in."
Muirenn slipped out of the closet and to the door, unlocking it and unbolting it, but she kept it firmly closed when Sylus tried to come in.
"How long did I run from you after Wolfe gave me the talk about the birds and the bees before you decided I had done enough running? How long was it before you threw me over your shoulder and dragged me out of hiding?"
There was silence from behind the door before Sylus answered, tone amused. "A week. You ran from me for a week because you were embarrassed about getting the talk."
Muirenn was silent before she let the door crack open as she raised the gun. "Can't be too careful."
Sylus looked at her. "A good skill to have. And that question was quite the interesting one. Nothing an impersonator would know, certainly. I'm impressed you remember that."
"It's not that impressive to remember."
Muirenn looked around Sylus and past him, her eyes landing on the watchers. "I thought Wolfe's enemies came looking for revenge."
Sylus was quiet for a moment before he said what needed to be said. "They didn't find this place, but they did find Wolfe."
"... Then..."
"He's not coming back."
Even though Muirenn had been preparing for every eventuality, hearing those words was still a punch to the gut. It was never easy to lose a father figure after all.
Still, Muirenn wasn't going to let herself be idle. She offered to be Sylus' contact in Wolfe's place. Sylus had stared at her.
"Are you certain this is something you're prepared for, Muirenn Falkenrath?"
Muirenn only nodded, determined to help the only other person who gave a damn about her.
Sylus accepted her that night, but only if she got a tattoo from him that marked her as his contact. Muirenn agreed easily.
The next night, Sylus came over with tools for doing the tattoos. He pinned her hair out of her face and got to work, making sure she kept still. Muirenn made sure to be very still while Sylus worked.
Once he was done, Sylus showed her the tattoo with a mirror. A full moon in the middle of her forehead, a rhombus between her eyes on her nose, and a crescent moon on each cheek, the points facing each other.
It was odd that Sylus had asked her to get the tattoo right on her face since she was certain that Wolfe had his tattoo on his upper arm and usually had it hidden more often than not.
Not that Muirenn minded what was going on. These were marks of her loyalty as Sylus' contact.
That was all. It was nothing more than that.
So why did Sylus look so pleased with himself?
Men...

How my named MC Muirenn got her moon markings in the "Tomorrow's Catch-22" event. This story will be in Rafayel's card "Extreme Dose". I hope you all enjoy.
The Moon and Her Tide
The first time Rafayel had brought up Muirenn getting a tattoo, the blue haired enforcer waved it off as a joke. Rafayel was aloof and calculating, but bringing up Muirenn getting a tattoo? She had nearly rolled her eyes skyward at the insanity of Rafayel's words.
The second time Rafayel brought it up, it was in front of Winona. Muirenn had received no warning, just Rafayel's fingers brushing her cheek while he remarked about how her face was perfect for a tattoo. Muirenn gave him a 30 minute lecture while Winona had looked amused, looking at Muirenn like she knew something Muirenn didn't.
The third time Rafayel had brought it up, it was after a training session. Muirenn had felt cold watching the session happen and deflected when Rafayel asked about how cold she was. So, Rafayel had rubbed her cheeks while remarking about how a tattoo would make her face stand out more. Muirenn lectured him the whole way home, barely noticing how smug Rafayel seemed at the familiar banter.
The fourth time Rafayel brought it up, Muirenn was still convinced it was a joke. At least, the joke wasn't a funny one. Seriously, who joked about something so permanent like that? It was at home and Rafayel had been watching too many romance films, so Muirenn dismissed it as that without lecturing him. Ignoring the way Rafayel cocked his head in her direction curiously.
The fifth time Rafayel brought it up, Muirenn had decided to humor his little joke in the comfort of home. She asked him what kind of tattoo she should get. His eyes had lit up, probably happy that she was playing along now, and he said that she should get a full moon tattoo in the middle of her forehead. Muirenn humoured him for the evening as she made dinner, unable to see his excitement.
The sixth time Rafayel brought up her getting the tattoo, it was before she had him fake his death to get him out of the clutches of others. He had smoothed her hair out of her face and kissed her forehead, then told her to get the tattoo for him. Muirenn had been surprised by the kiss, but she waved it off, acting as an enforcer of the LCBI would when he faked his death.
The sixth time he brought it up was when Muirenn questioned to herself if he hadn't been joking from the start.
Muirenn tried not to think about the empty space in her life too much.
...
Six months had passed after Rafayel had faked his death. Muirenn worked herself to the bone, throwing herself headfirst into work without anyone stopping her. She ignored the way some of the other enforcers looked at her oddly and she especially ignored when a rare few enforcers looked at her with pity in their eyes.
Nothing had happened to her that would require pity from her coworkers.
Winona seemed to look at her with concern as she found Muirenn overworking herself, but Winona did nothing to stop the young enforcer. Muirenn was grateful for that. The last thing she needed was a ban from work.
The most annoying thing that happened was when her coworkers looked at her and asked if she was using work as a coping mechanism after the Praedator she had supervised died. Muirenn only looked at them like they were crazy and pretended not to hear their talks of an intervention and finding someone better for her to obsess over.
Muirenn could hardly think about others when work was all that was on her mind.
... And maybe Rafayel was on her mind too, but Muirenn didn't find everything weird. It was her coworkers making things weird.
The six months after the faked death felt long to Muirenn though. Even with work drowning out most of it, Muirenn still felt out of sorts. She didn't understand why Rafayel was on her mind more often than not. She knew he was fine. He was! He could survive without her just fine!
So why did thinking about Rafayel elicit such an ache in her heart?
Realizing that the overtime work was going nowhere, Muirenn stood up and left, actually clocking herself out first and then leaving. The faster she got home, the faster she could get to bed and ignore her unprovoked heartache.
Something made her pause though. The sight of a small shop in an alleyway. A tattoo place, if her coworkers and their rumors were to be believed. Muirenn looked at the shop for a moment. She should've left and gone home, but something made her pause.
"Get that tattoo for me, yeah? So that I can be drawn to my moon."
Muirenn pursed her lips, sneaking a hand beneath her bangs to rub her forehead. She shouldn't entertain Rafayel's jokes...
... but something inside of her wanted to entertain it. To get the tattoo Rafayel had wanted her to get.
Muirenn was hesitant before she let her feet carry her into the tattoo parlor. She opened the door and was greeted by the sight of a young man.
Upon noticing her, the young man smiled. "Oh, welcome! You're a new face. Here for a tattoo? You know they're permanent."
Muirenn nodded. "I know. I'm here to get a face tattoo."
"That's not the sort newcomers go for at first. Still, business is business. I'm not one to tell you how to live your life. May I have your name, miss?"
"Muirenn Falkenrath, sir."
The young man typed it out with Muirenn helping with spelling her name out. Once her name was put in, she was guided to a chair as she explained the design she wanted.
Rafayel had just wanted her to get a full moon on her forehead, but she added onto it. A rhombus between her eyes on her nose and a crescent moon on each cheek with the points facing each other.
The young tattoo artist nodded along with her explanation as he sat her down and got his tools ready. Muirenn took the opportunity to pin her hair out of her face. Then he got to work.
Muirenn had her eyes closed while the tattoo artist did his work, barely twitching at times. She had to keep her face steady because of the work the tattoo artist was doing.
It was while he was finishing up that the door opened. Muirenn stayed still until the tattoo artist was done and only opened her eyes when an older, feminine voice rang out through the shop.
"Baby, what are you doing?"
A middle aged woman was approaching them. The person who had done Muirenn's tattoos seemed to jolt. "Oh, l-love! You're back!"
The woman crossed her arms. "And you're not supposed to take customers without my supervision. I know you're eager to test out your skills on your own, but remember that you're still learning, baby."
The man seemed to slump as he muttered an apology to which the woman, who Muirenn realized was a Praedator, kissed him on the forehead before turning to Muirenn and inspecting her face.
"Huh... Not bad. You actually did good, baby. Still, remember that I have to be in the room next time. You're still learning how to do this."
"Yes, love..."
The Praedator woman gave Muirenn a mirror for her to see herself. The sight of her tattooed face gave Muirenn a sense of comfort. Like a missing piece that had finally been restored.
The pair gave her advice on what to do and what not to do with the tattoo while the ink settled which Muirenn listened to. Then she left.
Once she was gone, the pair looked at her name again.
"Muirenn Falkenrath... He's going to love this..."
"Love, are you going to tell him about this...?"
"Hm... No. Let him figure it out himself. He'll find out about his human if he decides to interact with her again. I'm certainly not getting involved further."
"Understood."

How Muirenn got her moon markings in the "Tomorrow's Catch-22" event. This first story will be in Xavier's card "Deluded Fiction". I hope you all will enjoy this.
Marking His Moon
"You want me to do what, Xavier?"
Muirenn stared at Xavier like he was proposing something insane. Who wouldn't after you figure out that your subordinate is an SSS-class Praedator?
This was truly something else that he was asking of her though.
Xavier looked at her calmly. "I want you to get a tattoo on your face."
Muirenn loved Xavier. Really, she did. But she was five seconds away from kicking his soft behind. Muirenn crossed her arms and glared at him with a look that screamed angry superior.
"Can I have an explanation as to why?"
Xavier was quiet as he looked at her. Muirenn snapped her fingers. "Chop, chop. I'm waiting for an explanation."
Xavier seemed to shrink slightly. "Please stop glaring at me..."
If Muirenn were anyone else, the sight of Xavier's wide, sad eyes might have worked on her. Sure, Muirenn was considering loosening up, but ultimately knew that wouldn't help her case. So, she only glared harder.
Xavier was silent for a few moments, squirming slightly (how Muirenn could make an SSS-class Praedator squirm in front of her wasn't something she herself understood), and then finally spoke up.
"Tattoos are used to mark prey..."
Muirenn was silent for five seconds before she practically growled. "Excuse me?"
Xavier shrunk away (wow, she must be a master at threatening people) and spoke again. "I'm not saying you're prey... I'm saying that tattoos are a good way to ward off other Praedators. Tattoos show off prey that belongs to someone else. Different classes choose different places to mark prey."
Muirenn was silent as she listened to him, staring at him. "Go on. There's more to it than that."
Xavier seemed surprised, but he nodded. "It's also a way for Praedators to stake a claim on their favorite human, one that's close to them, to say 'this is mine'."
Ah.
Well, that was certainly interesting. Muirenn sighed as she looked at him. "I see. And where am I getting this tattoo?"
Xavier lit up faster than she could blink. "Your face."
"... What?!"
...
Muirenn wished she could've gone back in time and delivered a stern refusal. But after Xavier heard what must have sounded like an invitation to him, he had dragged her off to get the tattoo. No amount of cursing from her had dissuaded him.
So now she had pinned her bangs up while the tattoo artist, a Praedator, did her face tattoo. Luckily, Muirenn had a high pain tolerance. It still didn't feel pleasant.
The Praedator doing her tattoo seemed to notice her displeasure and snorted. "What are you frowning about? I know that enforcers from the LCBI and Praedators don't mix well, but give your man some credit. He's really happy about this."
Muirenn wanted to argue with the Praedator, wanted to say that Xavier wasn't her man, wanted to say several things, really. But something about it made her stop just before she snapped. Maybe she was just growing soft with her subordinates. Maybe it was just Xavier being a pain in the behind.
She was brooding while her tattoo was finished up and then a mirror was placed in front of her once the Praedator was done. Muirenn looked at the face tattoos.
A full blue moon in the center of her forehead, a blue rhombus between her eyes on her nose, and a blue crescent moon on each cheek, the points facing each other.
Despite her hesitance, Muirenn was in awe of her face tattoo. It was pretty.
When Muirenn looked up from the mirror, she noticed that Xavier was asleep in a chair opposite of hers. An apprentice of the tattoo artist, a human with a daisy on the back of his hand, had put away the tools.
Muirenn was confused for a second until she spotted a tattooed star underneath Xavier's ear. A clearly new addition to his appearance. Muirenn stood up and walked over, eying the star tattoo.
The tattoo artist walked over to his apprentice, slinging an arm around him yet addressing Muirenn. "It's not often that a Praedator gets a tattoo from me or my apprentice while they get their human tattooed, but when it does happen? That's how we know it's a serious relationship."
Muirenn looked at Xavier, watching him crack open an eye before he sat up. Xavier's eyes went all over her face before he sighed. "My moon is marked."
Muirenn felt her heartbeat quicken slightly before she spoke. "My star is marked."
Xavier's lips quirked up in a soft smile, making Muirenn nervous in a way she had never felt before.
Then Muirenn remembered work and groaned. "How am I going to go into work tattooed like this?"
The way Xavier lit up so fast made Muirenn suspicious. Her suspicions were confirmed when Xavier spoke. "Can we skip work then, Captain?"
Muirenn gave Xavier a withering look. "No."
Xavier looked at Muirenn like a kicked puppy when she said that. Muirenn was trying to resist Xavier's puppy eyes, trying to remind herself that this was an SSS-class Praedator and that she shouldn't be submitting to his will.
It took a two minute long staring contest before Muirenn finally relented. "... Ugh. Fine. I'm making you work harder once we get back to work though."
Xavier lit up immediately. "Of course, Captain."
Muirenn had to sigh, but she and Xavier had to leave the tattoo place to get back to the safehouse, so it was on the walk there that Xavier looked at her.
"Complimentary marks suit us. I'm glad you got the tattoo. They look pretty on you."
Muirenn looked straight ahead as she continued walking. "Thank you. Why did you get one?"
Xavier pouted. "Because I wanted to show you that I was serious about you. Not as simply prey, but as an equal."
An equal...
"How magnanimous of you, making your captain feel special."
Muirenn would deny the fluttering in her chest for as long as she could.

I realized that I forgot Muirenn's moon markings with her outfit as an enforcer, so I added them.
There's a story behind how she got them in each story where the guys are Praedators. I'll post the stories soon.
Someday I'll come up with a last name for my MC.

Here's a Caelus/Anaxagoras incorrect quote because the idea came to me and was too hilarious.
Anaxagoras: Let me confirm something with you, Caelus. Tomes have said that hidden galaxies consume living matter. Going off of that, may I assume that you eat humans?
Caelus, in his clouded star form and speaking in the human tongue: We do. If it's living matter, we consume it.
Anaxagoras: I see. My thanks for your honest answer.
Caelus: Of course. But I must ask...
Caelus, who is now smirking with all eight of his eyes pinned on Anaxagoras: What brought on that question? Were you hoping to be my next meal?
Anaxagoras, who is learning the definition of scaroused in his mind and is internally making Windows error noises:
Cerces, who was slightly concerned at first but now recognizes it as homoerotic flirting from Caelus and is now wheezing: Oh, Mnestia... They're so gay...
This was too funny for me.

You guys know those Love and Deepspace memories where the guys are Praedators? Well, I made a little uniform for Muirenn. Below is enforcer Muirenn from the LCBI.
Muirenn is a lot more covered than the MC was because she refuses to be left vulnerable. She leaves her stomach open because she doesn't give a shit. Have fun punching her abs.
Her hair is dyed in this universe, the main universe, and every other universe because I said so.

Me, after writing a 10k word oneshot: Ok... I finally did it.
My Brain: Wanna hear a fanfic idea?
Me: Nooo... Don't you dare...
My Brain: Too late.
Does anyone else struggle with this sort of thought process when writing or is it just me?

Alright. Part 2/2 of my LADS MC Muirenn waking up in Caleb's apartment, having a panic attack, dealing with Caleb, and now Zayne is here. See the post below this one for part 1.
"I'm Sorry..."
Silence reigned in the apartment as Muirenn looked between her two childhood friends nervously. Both of them were drinking some tea she had made as a way to get out of their way for a minute. She was even drinking her own cup of tea, fidgeting slightly.
"So, you were alive."
Muirenn looked at Zayne when he spoke first, drinking some of her tea as she noticed his eyes on Caleb. His gaze was steely, and he definitely didn't look pleased. Caleb wasn't doing much better, frowning at Zayne.
"What? Pissed I didn't tell you anything?"
Zayne narrowed his eyes. "I'm displeased because Muirenn was not informed of this. She deserved to know that you were alive and well. Because of your "death", I-"
Zayne cut himself off, gritting his teeth slightly. Muirenn busied herself by taking another sip of tea. Tensions were already bad...
Caleb looked at Zayne as though challenging him to say something. Then he sighed and relaxed his facial features.
"So, Zayne, why are you in Skyhaven? And why specifically my apartment?"
Both of them stared each other down. Muirenn was about to interject when Zayne spoke.
"I called Muirenn again after getting nothing but missed calls from her. Yet the one time she does pick up, it's while she's in the throes of a panic attack. She was deeply convinced she had been kidnapped by someone who looked like you, and I couldn't ignore something like that."
There was silence from everyone as Caleb seemed to process the news. Then he growled and Muirenn stiffened.
"Has she been kidnapped before?"
Oh, dear. Caleb sounded like he was out for blood. Muirenn was very quick to interject before Caleb tore into Zayne for answers.
"Caleb, I haven't been kidnapped before. Not by someone who looks similar to you. I swear I'm fine."
Zayne gave Muirenn a very pointed look that made Muirenn stiffen before she turned her head away. Caleb looked between the two of them, brows furrowed.
"What's going on? Is something wrong with her?"
Muirenn was quiet while Zayne's expression became cold and professional.
"I'm afraid that as her primary care physician, I can't disclose anything due to doctor-patient confidentiality."
Caleb seemed antsy about that and kept probing. It was like an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object as Zayne sat there with a cold look on his face. Muirenn looked between the two of them before she inhaled and then exhaled.
"You can tell him, Zayne..."
Both of them paused and turned to Muirenn. She looked at them, seeing mild shock from Zayne. Her eyes met his.
"Zayne... I don't know if I'm strong enough to say anything without sobbing..."
Muirenn kept her eyes locked onto Zayne. He seemed hesitant for a minute before he sighed and turned to Caleb, who was straightening up.
"When paramedics first found her, she was in a state of shock and clutching onto your dog tag necklace while trembling. Apparently, if they had arrived any later, her heart might've stopped and they would have had to resuscitate her."
Muirenn blinked in surprise at that, having not known that, but when she looked at Caleb, she saw something in his expression that she hadn't seen before. He looked honest to everything horrified, to a degree that she hadn't seen before, like someone had actually killed her. Zayne continued.
"When she woke up, I was there. I gave her your dog tag and she looked hollow. Like someone had torn her apart from the inside. Even when she went back to her work she was torn apart. She was far easier to anger if someone touched her star accessories and she had several breakdowns in a week. Her captain finally had to make her take a break because she was becoming more of a danger to herself and was risking her job."
Zayne took a sip of tea as silence reigned over the room before he continued.
"I had to visit her in her own home because she lost the strength to do anything. I had to make her eat and drink. All she ever did was sob about how nothing tasted the same as it did before. I could only assume that in her grief, she was starting to lose her sense of taste or it was starting to morph. The only things she could eat without sobbing were ice cream and frozen fruits. I assumed that the cold helped her tongue adapt."
Zayne took another sip of his tea. Muirenn didn't dare look at Caleb to see what his expression was as Zayne kept talking.
"Muirenn pushed away everyone she didn't trust and grew an unhealthy attachment to those she did trust out of the fear that she would lose them. Whenever she heard fireworks or sounds similar to explosions, a panic attack would follow. She's been brought to me several times because of her unstable condition."
Now, Muirenn could see he was making direct eye contact with Caleb.
"But do you want to know what tore me apart the most? It was seeing her clutch the star accessories you gave her while she was having nightmares and hearing her wail for you. I felt helpless because no matter what I did to help her, she would have the same nightmare again and again. And every night it happened, she'd wail for you in her state of slumber. She was shattered without you. And you were just focused on your duties as a colonel."
Zayne leaned back, having said his piece apparently. Muirenn finally looked to Caleb, lips pursed.
Caleb's head was lowered, but Muirenn felt her heart constrict as she saw his expression.
He looked like someone had destroyed him.
Muirenn set her teacup down and reached out, placing a hand on his shoulder. That seemed to set Caleb off though because the second Muirenn touched him, Caleb dragged her into his arms and held her tightly. His face pressed into her neck.
Muirenn was hesitant before she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him back.
She wasn't sure how long they stayed like that while she engaged in small talk with Zayne. Eventually, he did have to leave, so he excused himself, leaving the apartment and shutting the door behind him.
Even after Zayne was gone, Caleb kept Muirenn in his arms. Muirenn was about to ask him if he was ok when Caleb finally spoke.
"I'm never going to leave you like that again. I'll chain myself to your side if I have to. I'd rather die than let go of you again."
Muirenn's expression softened and she stroked his hair.
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, pips..."
Muirenn tightened her arms around Caleb.
"I already forgive you, you big dum dum..."
Muirenn let herself relax in Caleb's arms as he refused to let her go.
She was finally home.
~Extra~
"Oh, Caleb, I almost forgot to ask, but why did you check your closet?"
Caleb looked up at Muirenn for the first time in a long time.
"I was going to grab one of my hoodies for you and then I was going looking for you. Considering what you were wearing, I had to make sure you were covered up properly."
Muirenn looked down at her red top that didn't cover most of her abdomen and her red shorts before she looked back up at him.
"You thought I would go out in this?"
"Hey, I didn't know where you were! Give me a break, pipsqueak!"
Muirenn only sighed. "You're lucky I love you so much or I'd beat you up."
Muirenn then felt the familiar sensation of Caleb's Evol weighing her down while Caleb looked at her with amusement.
Muirenn grew flustered, but that flush quickly became an angry one while he was chuckling.
"Caleb, you bastard-!"
Muirenn was going to strangle him later.
AN: Finals week is hard on me. Why do I have to be so busy? 😭

Since my brain keeps on cooking, here's my LADS MC Muirenn waking up in Caleb's apartment for the first time while he's not there. Except she's not thinking rationally. This shall be a part 1 out of 2.
"Um... Oops?"
Muirenn remembered the interrogation room, seeing someone who she thought was Caleb, finding out it was Caleb, strangling him for a few minutes before clinging to him, biting anyone who tried to get her off. She remembered sobbing until she was unconscious...
... But waking up in an unfamiliar apartment alone, in her relaxation clothes, had terror filling her heart. Muirenn sat up in bed, looking around wildly for someone, anyone to tell her where she was.
Before she realized it, Muirenn was hyperventilating, unable to breathe properly. Oh, gods, what if the person that looked like Caleb had tricked her? Used her grief to trap her wherever this was? That Colonel...
Her phone ringing made her jolt just as tears streamed down her face. Muirenn grabbed it, a choked noise escaping her as Zayne's name became visible on the screen. Muirenn answered the call immediately. And the first thing she got was Zayne's cold yet worried voice.
"You finally picked up. Do you know how many times I called you? I was starting to think you were-"
"Zayne..."
Muirenn didn't mean to interrupt him, but hearing Zayne's snippy tone only made her cry. It was honestly a huge relief to hear his voice.
There was silence on the other end of the line before Zayne spoke again, his tone softer now.
"Mui... What happened? You sound like you're crying."
Muirenn was trying her best not to, but sobs left her as she let words spill out.
"I... I don't know where I am... The Colonel of the Farspace Fleet... He... He looked like Caleb... His Evol... Zayne, I think he tricked me... He made me believe that he was Caleb... And now I... I don't even know where I am...!"
Muirenn continued to sob as Zayne shushed her calmly on the other end of the line, like he was comforting a child. This was the price she had paid for trusting a man that looked like Caleb.
It took her a few minutes to calm down, but once she wasn't out of her mind with grief, Zayne spoke up.
"Send me your location. I'll go get you."
Muirenn nodded, texting Zayne her location. Then she put the phone back to her ear.
"Please come quick..."
"I will try to be there as soon as I can."
It was hard for Muirenn to hang up the phone, but Zayne eventually did so. Without his voice in her ear, Muirenn dropped her head in her knees and sobbed.
She stayed on the bed for who knew how long before the sound of a door unlocking made her head shoot up, terror gripping her heart. Before Muirenn could think, she was already slipping into the closet and shutting the closet door, enveloping herself in darkness.
Her hands went to her star accessories which were thankfully still on, and that was a relief because she would hate to fight a colonel over those. She definitely believed she would lose.
Then the bedroom door opened and Muirenn seized up, holding her breath. The footsteps paused before they approached where the bed was.
"Pipsqueak?"
Muirenn tried not to cry. His voice was like Caleb's. He was so much like Caleb that it hurt. The footsteps went closer to the bed and she heard the sound of the sheets moving.
"Hm... Still warm... Maybe she's in the bathroom... Then again, the shower's not running and I don't hear the sounds of water from the tub... Maybe she's just doing her business..."
It took everything in Muirenn to just stay quiet and stay still. After a few minutes, she heard the sound of the Colonel knocking on a door before opening it. There was silence for several minutes before she heard that door closing and rapid footsteps entering the bedroom again.
"Where the hell could she have gone? She's not in the bathroom and she's not in bed. Not in the living room or kitchen either... Damnit, did she leave the house? If anyone saw her the way she was..."
Muirenn kept herself quiet and still before her phone lit up, not making any noise after she put it on silent. She looked at the text message from Zayne.
"I'm a few minutes away from where you are. Stay safe, Mui."
Thank everything. Now all Muirenn had to do was wait for Zayne and hope that the Colonel would leave. She could hear him pacing around, clearly frantic. Before she realized it, the closet door was being thrown open-
-and frantic violet eyes met fearful, teary gold eyes.
There was a moment of pause as the world seemed to hold its breath. The Colonel, who had been frantic seconds before, was now shocked. Muirenn whimpered as she tried to make herself smaller. Then the shock from the Colonel bled into relief.
"There you are, pipsqueak. I was about to send a squadron out to find you. Why are you hiding in my closet?"
Muirenn was dragged out of the closet easily by the Colonel and taken to the bed. Muirenn tried to get out of his arms, but then her body felt weighed down. Right, she forgot that his Evol was just like Caleb's.
Caleb...
Muirenn started to sob again and the Colonel held her, soothing her. Muirenn didn't feel soothed though. She didn't want him. She wanted her Caleb, but she wasn't even sure if he was alive or not since the Colonel was clearly fucking with her head.
"Pips, can I have an explanation as to why you were hiding in my closet now?"
Muirenn looked at the Colonel who was looking at her patiently and rubbing her back. Muirenn hesitated before speaking.
"I woke up alone... I was terrified that everything was a dream... Besides, I... I thought you weren't my Caleb... That it was a cruel joke..."
The Colonel's expression softened. He held her closer and kissed her forehead.
"Muirenn, I would never leave you again. I know how much losing me and Gran hurt you. I would have stayed with you, but work called. Otherwise, I would have stayed in bed with you and held you."
Muirenn wanted to sob more. Why was he being so... sweet to her? Why? She felt a hand adjust her star accessories.
"I remember when I put these on you for the first time on your 15th birthday. You looked at me like you were mystified by me and all I could think about was laying the heavens at your feet if it meant seeing that starry eyed look again."
That was what did Muirenn in. Only Caleb would know about those star accessories. Her Caleb. The floodgates opened again and Muirenn was clinging to Caleb while wailing.
Caleb rubbed her back soothingly, shushing Muirenn as she wailed. Muirenn only focused on the fact that Caleb was actually there with her. Against all odds, he wasn't dead.
Eventually, Muirenn managed to stop wailing and only sniffled softly while still holding onto Caleb. He just had that way of tearing her walls down and wrapping himself around her heart like he was meant to possess it.
"Caleb... Caleb... Caleb..."
"Shh... I'm here, pips... I've got you..."
Muirenn continued to cling to Caleb as the tears dried on her cheeks. Silence reigned for a minute and then...
... There was a harsh knocking at the door.
Caleb sighed before he stood up. "I'll be right back, pipsqueak. I'm sure it's just some asshole."
Muirenn refused to let him go and so was dragged out of bed as Caleb went to go answer the door. When the door opened, Muirenn looked up-
-and was met with the sight of Zayne's shocked face as he took in Caleb. He then looked at her.
"Mui...?"
Caleb also looked at Muirenn and he also seemed shocked at the situation
"Pips? Why is Zayne all the way in Skyhaven?"
Muirenn looked at both of them before chuckling nervously.
"Um... oops?"
AN: Muirenn, this is not an "oops" situation. Oops is a distant speck off in the rearview mirror. You are diving headfirst into "oh fuck" territory and both of them are expecting you to act like it.

How my LADS MC Muirenn feels about the 5 current love interests:
Xavier: She respects him as a hunter and has a tiny crush on him. Muirenn mostly pushes aside her personal feelings for him in favor of working with him on missions. Overall, she does like Xavier but pushes her feelings aside in favor of simply working with someone she respects.
Rafayel: She holds respect for his work as an artist, but doesn't really favor the actual person. Mostly because of his personality. Muirenn will work for and with Rafayel due to their agreement since she's a woman of her word, but she has the most deadpan face ever. A lot of Rafayel's fans have asked her if she feels lucky working with him and the only thing she did was wrinkle her nose slightly. She said nothing. Just that. Overall, she respects his artistic work, but doesn't really respect the artist himself due to his personality.
Sylus: Muirenn absolutely despised Sylus at first. She did not like what he did nor did she like him as a person due to his attitude. Her hatred for severe lawlessness came from one person in her childhood (cough Caleb cough), so Muirenn despised Sylus and was much more snippy with him than the MC was in game. If he so much as touched her star accessories, she was already roundhouse kicking him and throwing in several punches for good measure when she would normally only glare at others. She does warm up to him eventually, but it is a very slow process. Overall, she hated his guts at first and is now extending the proverbial olive branch very slowly.
Zayne: Muirenn trusts Zayne with her life. She's more attached to him than the three mentioned above because of them being childhood friends. Muirenn actually trusts Zayne as a doctor the most because she knows how hard he's worked to become an expert in his field. Zayne is also one of the few people who can fluster Muirenn by teasing her. Muirenn is very frustrated about it, but she knows that she does it because she trusts Zayne with her emotions. Muirenn doesn't fluster easily with others. Only three people can easily do so: Josephine, Caleb, and Zayne. Muirenn also took to Zayne as a figure of comfort after the house explosion, finding it very hard to let him go to Mt. Eternal since she feared losing another piece of her heart. Overall, Muirenn trusts Zayne as a doctor and has some romantic feelings for him, but her trauma has twisted those feelings slightly.
Caleb: Dear god, where do I start? Muirenn is a very guarded person when it comes to strangers (due to a lingering fear from the past memories that she forgot about Ever but still retains in her subconscious) and when people first met her, they thought she trusted no one and would snap at everyone. Then Caleb would throw an arm around her and she would give him a small smile, her walls falling down easily. Muirenn sees Caleb as safe, she associates him with safety, and when they were children, Muirenn had to know where Caleb was or she would have a breakdown. Josephine recognized pretty early on that the two had to stay together as children or Muirenn would have a breakdown. Then Caleb would glare at Josephine while comforting Muirenn as though their sweet grandmother had made her cry. Muirenn eventually grew out of it, but she still feels lingering anxiety when she doesn't know where Caleb is for lengthy periods of time. After Caleb's death, Muirenn was in a bad state mentally. She clung to her star accessories from him and refused to part with them and if anyone tried to touch them while she was still grieving, she'd blow up at them without warning. She'd have several breakdowns over the course of a week and it got to the point where Jenna had to make her take several weeks off and threatened to force therapy on her if she didn't take her time off to recuperate. Muirenn also wore Caleb's dogtag that she gave him and simply refused to take it off afterwards. Muirenn pushed out those she didn't trust completely and grew almost unhealthily attached to those she did trust completely (Zayne), fearing their loss. The moment she found out Caleb was alive, she strangled him for several seconds while sobbing before hugging him tightly and refusing to let go of him. The moment Fleet soldiers tried to get her off, she bit them while clinging to Caleb.
Now I give you two images of Muirenn. One does depict her flustered while the other depicts her RBF.

Love and Deepspace, my beloved. How you give me the most delicious stuff to work with. This is going to get into the "Eternal Aurora" part of the main story from the section "Under Deepspace".
Do you all know how hard it must have been for the MC to let Zayne go do his business on Mt Eternal? Yes, he has a guide and yes, he's competent, but remember that she's already lost two people close to her heart.
The MC must know that if something happens to Zayne while he's there, it will destroy her. Zayne was part of her childhood, he was there and he's a person who's closest to her heart. He's the only thing of the past that she still has and she doesn't want to let him go, but she knows that it's for his work. That's the only thing that stops her from calling for him.
~And Now I Will Use My Girl Muirenn to Act It Out~
I asked him if he wasn't coming back with me. He said that he came here for a reason. Like it wasn't obvious to me in the first place.
I didn't want him to go there, didn't want him to leave me. But he was still going to do so. He was still going to walk to Mt Eternal... So I could only say one thing.
"Take care of yourself... and Pie."
"I will."
Zayne said those words with such certainty that I almost believed him. But when he turned to leave, I found myself reaching for him. I caught myself though and instead grasped onto the accessory around my neck.
Caleb...
"Protect him... Please... I don't want to lose another piece of my heart..."
I had to fight to choke down the tears that threatened to overwhelm me and instead went to go leave. If I stayed, the floodgates would open.
So, with a heavy heart, I left Snowcrest.
