[A/N: I know this chapter is short, only around 2k words, but I promise next one will be longer and updated as soon as possible as my schedule is almost stabilized now]

Chapter seven

“I’d rather not know.”

“so this is where you guys are. such a drag.” 

Yui has never been happier in her life until now to see Shu. what a right timing! 

“Shu-san!” yes she was very happy. 

“drop it, you guys left me alone to deal with all that troublesome nonsense, I had to use my precious stored energy to wave them off. how are you gonna compensate for it?” Shu glared at them, but too lazy. He really had to go around the circles to dodge those noisy girls. 

“well the girls targeted you, so as you said, just remove the root of the problem, we ran away.” Shin hmphed as he was feeling tired, maybe because he felt relaxed after a really long time. 

“Let's go home Yui, I'm tired. We can buy the dress another day” Shu said as he had enough. It was a long day for him.

“hmm what is that?” Shin ignored Shu and asked Yui, as he pointed at a ice cream van having a poster of ‘new nuts & crunch scoop’ 

the word nuts always attracted him.

“oh… looks like a new flavour of ice cream containing nuts. it looks delicious” Yui answered. 

“of course it will, after all it's nuts. I’ll go get it” Shin ran to the van before his favourite flavour got sold out. 

Yui watched how his strawberry hair bounced as he happily ran away like a child. 

‘Does a wolf eat cereal? That also nut flavoured?’ She peeked at the animal as her eyes softened when she noticed it’s fur color. At first it was dark so she didn’t notice but it’s pink at a near glance. Baby pink? No strawberry pink? No, it's ginger pink, just like Shin. What’s weird is that the wolf also has an eye-patch like him.

Over and over again she has been ignoring the signs. 

Why are founders suddenly quiet? It's been a little while since their last attack.

‘I'd rather not know’

“Let’s go Shu-san” without waiting, she left. 

– Yui's room, Sakamaki mansion:

This is so unfair… just when she was finally happy… or maybe she is just overthinking it. Maybe the founders are planning something big that’s why they suddenly went quiet. 

Yui tremblingly hugged her wolf plushie resembling Shin to ward off all the negative thoughts and fall asleep in this mess.

She thought she’ll at least be at peace in her dreams, but no, she suddenly found herself in school infirmary with the same ringing noise like in those other dreams. But this time there was someone standing in front of her. 

“No need- bother- it’ll be unnec-sary- to return ‘home’ -anymore”

“now- my pro-rty

“Don’t compa- to them- i’m a founde- **i* **u****mi” 

the ringing noise was starting to become louder and the cut off sentences were beginning to disappear. Even the unknown man faded into thin air. 

She was now totally surrounded by darkness, alone, with the ringing noise…. and an inaudible echo.

“Eve.. are y**- rem****ring?” 

– Dungeon, Tsukinami mansion:

Waking up in the dungeon after a long time was not in Shin’s to-do-list after having a good time with Yui.

It was hazy and all he remembers is coming home to his angry brother and ending up in the dungeon. 

“You are finally awake, Shin?” 

Speak of the devil. The word Shin was highlighted coldly and he knew what it meant. Taking a deep breath, he slowly looked up.

“....”

Carla narrowed his eyes and put a hand over his forehead, sweeping the bangs, while looking at his younger brother.

“Over and over again you had enough opportunities to capture her and bring her here, yet you decided not to. Are you waiting for the eclipse to get over?”

Low angry voice. Shin isn't surprised. 

“Nii-san I… I was trying to win her trust so that she won’t be a nuisance initially-”

“It's not needed. Her trust is not needed, she’ll be a nuisance anyways. We bring her here, cleanse her blood and continue our lineage.”

“5 days. I’m giving you 5 days to bring her here before I myself decide to interfere in this troublesome matter.”

Without giving Shin a chance to speak, Carla left the dungeon to let his brother continue his punishment.

5 days… the prom is also in 5 days, what a coincidence or not. His brother is smart enough to know that the prom party will be the perfect time to take her away. The vampires won’t be able to notice immediately among a bunch of students as their senses are weak.

It’s frustrating. Maybe he should have caught her on day one. 

“Thank you Shin-kun for protecting me”

Shin still remembers how she thanked him for protecting her in the dispute with the abusive boy at the rooftop on day one. During the whole tour she was down and numb. Her words were void of emotions when explaining the school layout. It felt off, even though he shouldn’t have cared, it still bothered him. What hell has she been living in with those vampires?

How ironic… that’s what he and his brother were gonna do to her, they were going to put her through the same hell and just like he said previously he shouldn’t have cared about her well being. Their only goal was their lineage.

Empathy doesn’t exist in demons.

but…

“cause… I wanted to be alone with you.” 

The way she blushed from those simple words. Her ears and cheeks red, just like a tomato. It was cute. Every single time they met and were alone, he started to see improvement in her complexion. At first he viewed that as a good point as it’ll be easy to conceive with that healthy body of hers but soon he forgot his own purpose. He just wanted to be with her. It has been so long since he felt genuinely alive. 

But it was all going to end soon.

–Rooftop, Ryoutei Academy:

Unknowingly, the rooftop has become a safe spot for Yui. the cool breeze calmed her as she sat on the floor, hugging her knees and looking at the full red moon. Everybody has their own secret spot and for Yui, it’s the school rooftop. It might not be a secret like other’s spot but it’s her comfort.

This place holds her memories with Shin. 

And right now she is too deep down in the hole she has dug herself. It was from day one. She had a chance, a chance to take Shu’s hand while she fell in the shallow pit, but instead she took the shovel called Shin and kept digging more like an idiot thinking another path will open which will be safer, unknowingly caging herself the deeper she went as the light slowly disappeared above her. And now, the reliable shovel is broken too. 

There was… a cracking noise within her. 

There’s gotta be a fix. Every problem always has a fix. Right?

“What are you doin’ here?” 

Her ears perked up from the voice beside her and she saw Shin sitting beside her in the same way she is.

“J-just enjoying the view” 

Silence befell between them. Unlike previously she didn’t strike up random conversation to waive the awkward air around them. 

Shin glanced at her complexion from side eye and it looked paler. 

“Why are you here?” without even looking at him, she asked. She was too exhausted. 

He hesitated for a moment, his throat feeling dry, like he was scared.

“I came to ask if you want to… bunk the school to go out with me?”

“What?!” His words brought her back to her senses as she looked at him bewildered while he gave his signature smirk.

disclaimer: whatever I'm gonna say is based on my memory so if anything is misjudged, feel free to correct me. if you are reading this post thinking whatever I'm typing is with 100% guarantee or with full knowledge in DL, then you are making one of the biggest mistakes of your life.

I'm writing from whatever I remembered.

one thing I'm grateful to Rejet for, despite many neglected and unexplained plot points, is maintaining Laito's character development pace.

he is one of the most complex characters in DL and his trauma runs really deep. he was once a sweet boy ruined by Cordelia, further, trying to paint himself black in the horrible reality, thinking it's the right thing? by drowning himself in pleasure? to hide his loneliness? to hide his pain?

by the timeline in the dark fate game, every boy of the sakamaki household has warmed up to Yui and were in the lover's phase, but laito... ah, yes he was also already close to Yui and was lovey dovey but at the same time he was disoriented, even Carla wasn't able to predict him.

he tried to push Yui away, built up a wall again, tried making her hate him to protect her.

in case of his trust issues, don't remember if it was mentioned or not, but he never blamed Yui, it was him that he wasn't able to trust due to his past after all was he ever thought the correct way of love? no more than that, 'why will a vampire be taught love?'

laito is quick witted so is Reji, so is Shu. as much as I can remember these characters were the less likely ones to use their strength in Sakamaki DF, and only used their brains.

but they kept Yui to themselves and protected her under them. But Laito, conflicted. he wasn't able to trust himself on her, how was he supposed to protect her from Tsukinamis?

This is why I'm glad, despite his lover phase, he wasn't truly suddenly sunshine and rainbow with Yui because he was still dealing with his trauma. I mean as per DF timeline it wasn't that long since Yui came into their life, also, knowing Laito, there's no way they both sparked for each other at first sight so to me it was the perfect pace.

considering it was like a month or so between HDB & DF, and how it might have taken Yui a few weeks to get closer to them, Laito's DF route was understandable.

butttttt when Laito does overcome it little by little, and starts trusting himself on Yui, he is a clingy boyfie. I mean just look at his Lunatic Parade CGs

there's not even one CG where he hasn't kissed her or tried to get an opportunity/opening to kiss her.

i don't remember his LP route at all, so I need to re-read that once again. but until then, I'll just end this post here. anyone wanna add/correct something, feel free to comment/tell me/send me an ask, I'll happily edit my post. i won't be offended if there's something i wrote wrong and you come to correct me.

What if Yui was Carla and Shin's childhood friend. Like she was a part of founders family but in a war with Karlheinz everyone thought she is dead. Then Carla and Shin found her after many years in Sakamaki house.

Omo it's smth I thought about way before I even have imagined yui as founder like her being carla and shin cousin. Can yall belive it I am turning 18 this year and I had this idea when I was about 15-16 thank this person for making me remember @nerdywerewolffart 😭💞

💎Founder Yui headcanons:

🔴The ideas I currently have on this scenrio are :

🌸Yui is carla and shin blood relative basically they are cousin.

🌸Menae/Krone has a brother and yui is his daughter. Yui mother died while giving birth to her (my bbg is always without mom).

🌸Founder yui has big golden eyes that are very bright that's something that turns head of everyone whom sees her as they look like sun and on top of that her blonde hair she is nicknamed as sunshine because of her bright features.

🌸Founder yui has pale shin like carla and shin and she posses same power as them but they are weaker cuz her mother isn't from a strong background like Krone.

🌸Founder yui actually had a loving dad and a good childhood. Since they are relatives yui visited them alot as kids sometimes staying in bandmaden castle.

🌸Yui used to play alot with shin she and shin used to run around castle and play hide and seek.

🌸Yui didn't played much with carla as carla from young age was matured because of the immense pressure from his father and his mother illness.

🌸Carla took care of both shin and yui as he developed soft spot for the blonde girl whom is same age as his younger brother.

🌸He treated them as if they are his child and he wanted to protect their innocence and childish mind.

🌸Carla sometime played hide and seek with them but since he can easily sense them they decided to play in castle as its big and it will make game fun and they are allowed to teleport.

🌸When yui started baking she always made some cookies for them and always visited to deliver it.

🌸They had a very strong bond however when they turned teenagers their bond got strained because of founder situation and war.

🌸They all still had soft spot for each other but yui visits and their interaction got less as time passed.

🌸They barely met each other during their teenager phase because whenever yui visited they both are either training or out for work.

🌸When carla and shin relation got strained when carla plugged shin eye out, yui couldn't help but get angry at carla she immediately visted to comfort shin and yui provided the emotional support shin needed.

🌸When yui met carla she scolded him for being hard on shin, carla didn't tell her why he did that and what will happen if he didn't do it as it will harm founders in future he remained silent throughout her whole scolding.

🌸Yui expressed her worry for him too as she noticed giesbach off behaviour but carla dismissed her saying that it's not something that should concern her as she is a princess and she shouldn't put her finger in men works.

🌸Yui frowned at his cold behaviour and expressed that she is concerned about him she also expresses that she is worried about him about Giesbach but carla again gave her a cold shoulder and said her to leave him as he don't want her to worry.

🌸When yui decided to leave room carla called her and told her to stop visiting Krone, yui ran out in tears thinking he dislikes her when she is just worried about him.

🌸Yui wants carla to open up to her so that she could comfort him but he always rejects her. But carla only stopped her from visiting Krone because he doesn't want her to caught Endzeit.

🌸Shin bitterness towards carla was something yui was aware off as Shin always rant about it infront of yui.

🌸Yui always tries to mend the ties between two of them by telling carla to talk to shin but carla only ignores her saying" it's all for better" and when yui tried to make shin understand carla, shin lashes out on her in return and expresses that he doesn't need explanation as he isn't kid.

🌸He also tells yui to leave with a heavy heart saying that he doest need her lectures yui just silently stood up opened her mouth to say something but seeing the way both brothers told her to leave decided to back away.

🌸They didn't see each other for a long period of time for about years and shin regrets it as hell but he is too proud to go up to yui and apologise as it's always been yui whom came to them not other way around.

🌸Carla did miss yui presence as he haven't seen her for a long time but he had to surpress his feelings for yui as someone might use yui as carla weakness to expoilt him. He is aware of the fact that yui is strong but she is a female so he worries people might target her to black male him.

🌸A talk of marriage of yui starts going around as yui turns 18 and it didn't take long for her to be bethored to carla its something that pissed shin off. Shin immediately lashed out and destroyed things in his room.

🌸That was something that made shin actually go up to yui after some time of avoiding each other he asked her if she really want this marriage.

🌸This marriage was arranged and it was done by Giesbach. Yui expressed the fact that she is neutral she likes carla but not that way and that she isn't sure if she wants to get marry this early considering she just turned 18.

🌸This made shin smile as he realized that there is no love between them. He promised to her that he will free her from all this. But didn't tell her how.

🌸Carla on other hand finished giesbach off and took the throne, officially as King Of Founder while yui and shin were having this talk. Carla did plan on marrying yui as she was always someone he liked and he consider her as a good partner for himself.

-The plot of my scenrio follows original story line -

🌸Menae took yui along with her. Menae was like a mom to her during her child hood so yui didn't hesitate to obey menae and agreed to leave with her.

🌸Menae took yui because she wants to make sure that if she died while making cure yui could be the one whom will volunteer after her and it all was something that Karl suggested.

🌸A fight broke out and yui castle was attacked and yui father during all this got killed a rumor started circulating that yui died too as the castle was lit on fire killing everyone in castle no one survived.

🌸This news broke shin and carla whom went berserk and started killing all vampires whom assassinated yui and during this commotion it gave Karl opening to imprison founder.

🌸Menae was than married to burai she wanted yui to live normally so Karl decided to seal teenage yui whom was 18 and he putted her to sleep.

-The scenrio than follow original story line all events than take place-

🌸Karl woke yui up when his own kids turned adult. Karl than sended yui to his mansion with his children and introduced yui as sakamakis long lost cousin and he removed her memories and sealed her founder power and making her appear as vampire before sakamakis that's when yui life with all sakamakis started all of them were enraptured by her blood scent and her unique looks.....

Pairing : Subaru and Yui / Ruki and Yui

Subaru is a prince whom has his own harem of girls.

Subaru has this likeness towards innocent and pure looking girls so most of his harem is filled with such girls.

Subaru recently lost his mother so he is in his emo phase where he spends most of his time alone as his mother was his comfort.

Subaru once recieve a gift ( painting) that caught his eye painting was off yui holding flowers and giving her cute smile in a white dress and subaru really like the way she looked as she reminded him of his mother so he kept the painting to himself in his room.

Yui is a normal village girl whom already was in a relationship /fiance of ruki and ruki is a guard of borders so he sometimes is away for work. Karl upon seeing how subaru liked the girl in painting decided to find that girl and give her as gift to subaru who is going to be crowned.

Yui whom kisses goodbye to ruki who is gonna return in 2 months after that they will get married she is than abducted by shin like shin is right hand of Karl (don't ask why but he is i wanna make story on him that's why he is here ).

Shin brought yui to harem against her will and separated her from her family . (Yui is 17 year old and subaru, shin and ruki are in 20s.)

Yui is than gifted to subaru. In Subaru harem, all girls want to get his attention but yui among them is the one whom receives it alot compare to others.

Subaru finds comfort in yui presence basically he finds peace with yui after losing his mother.

This causes harem girls to get jealous and in fit of rage they harm her face like scars her face which causes shin to feel guilty as she is treated like toy. Shin feels guilty as she is away from her family and now is gonna get used by prince for his amusement on top of that she is bullied by harem women.

Subaru at start had attraction towards her but it develops into deep love for yui.

On the other hand, Yui's only purpose was to get out of here and go home to her family. Shin at first stops her but than comply's with her and helps her to get out but subaru being more powerful doesn't want yui to go so he tries to make yui life peaceful but again yui is determined to go but subaru doesn't want to let go of her as she is his comfort in the lonely castle deep down he does feel guilt for keeping her here forcefully.

This is the main conflict between subaru and Yui as subaru gives her everything she wants but refuses to accept her one wish and that is to go home. That's what yui hates about subaru.

She gets angry at subaru for thinking of her like a gift instead of human subaru reassures her by saying he loves her but yui remains reluctant.

Yui develops hatred for Subaru and is quite expressive about it and this is what that causes others to develop dislikness towards her.

Yui and Subaru relation starts getting better when subaru saves yui multiple times and takes care of her this cause yui to develop soft spot for Subaru, after knowing about how much depressed he is after his mother death she will start sympathising him.

She will start thinking that subaru only has her in this world he feels as if he is alive in her presence that's what guilts yui whenever she tries to escape subaru deep love for her and his dependence on her always create mixed feelings in yui.

Yui whom is disliked by others and is mistreated will find comfort in Subaru. Yui will start feeling secure with subaru she at start will deny any feelings for him as she wants to remain loyal to ruki but ruki absence will cause her feelings to shift.....

Twist: Ruki returns and upon learning about the news of yui abduction he will start searching for her frantically he spends 2 years to find her.

Ruki will then find out she is abducted in castle he already has a background of soldier so he applies for a post in castle and he will be accepted in castle as a security guard.

Both ruki and yui reunite at a garden like place and when yui sees ruki, she will immediately hug him and starts crying he will also hug her back and says that he will save her and take her back to village where they will live happily.

Ruki will notice some scars on her to which she will tell she is abused shin than sees them talking and he connects dots as yui once told him that she had a fiance back at home.

Shin than sees subaru coming towards them he will immediately go and push yui unfortunately subaru will see only yui falling to floor because of the push and subaru will than get angry on shin and from corner of his eyes shin will see that yui is still not concious and is still trying to get back at ruki by approaching him.

As he is being scolded by subaru he will apologize and will mention about yui being pregnant and that he feels bad for pushing her as it could hurt her and all,that's when yui will realize the situation she will immediately stop her advances towards ruki.

Ruki whom still is stunned and will look at yui astonished and surprised but he will regain his composure and will hurrily get away from them as he isn't stable.

Later on, Ruki wont give up and ruki will confront yui by pushing her in nearby room and right now he is not cool he will loes his calm due to their argument ruki in fit rage will slap yui and than shin comes to beat some senses in him

This vulnerable state will cause yui to go into isolation allowing no one to see her, she will eventually lose child ruki after hearing it will be happy and will decide to reconcile with her during all this subaru and her relation will be strained.

After all this subaru just want yui affection seeing that she is doing this he will search for it in other concubines in his harem during all this shin isn't innocent he is the one who will manapulate yui into thinking that she is at fault and her decision is making people messy yui will fall into depression.

Subaru-yui relation will get strained and there will be ups and down as yui refuses to see or meet him this will cause subaru to go after other concubine and that's when yui will realize how much she loves subaru and want to be only one for him.....
