throughout their partnership, despite his flirting, she keeps stressing that she is married. so later when he, in his fake persona, confesses his love for her in a dramatic way, he also stresses that he knows she's married, doesn't expect anything to change, but just wants her to know. she is very overwhelmed and is like no one has ever done smth like this for me. she rejects him in the moment and they go their separate ways. but later she decides she actually loves him and that bc he made her feel a way she never thought she'd ever feel again, she decided to run to the fake persona's workplace (mechanic shop) in search of fake him and asks him to take her away. so basically confessing her love for fake! him. now this is a little blurry for me but in short, they decide on a rendezvous point but she never shows up bc she realizes that real! him is a great person and she can't hurt him like that. (there is a running theme of seeing god in someone which im personally Obsessed with and she finally ends up seeing god or "rab" in him and decides to stay) the competition comes around and she goes fully expecting fake! dude to not show up. he doesn't and instead real husband dude shows up and knows the choreo and that's how she finds out. and she's upset at him and we're supposed to think it's bc of the deceit but it's actually bc she cannot believe he would put himself through so much torture by her selfishness and it's just 😭😭😭🥰🥰🥰

the movie has such a strong theme of duty in love which im such a sucker for :)))

the plot is insane for how sweet and charming it is. socially awkward dude is invited to his old teacher’s daughter’s wedding and he attends. falls for the daughter at first sight because bollywood but hes respectful just like damn thats the bride? sucks to be me i guess. then the groom dies in a bus crash en route. teacher is dying an indeterminate amount of time later and on his deathbed asks dude to marry his daughter so that she’ll be taken care of. they do it but she is like super not into it (’my fiance died and then also my dad died and left me with this dude i dont know’). he is kind of into it (cause he did already fall for her) but definitely understands her discomfort keeps his distance. after some time she requests money for dance classes because she loves dancing and he gives it to her because he just wants her to be happy (id like to note the adorable scene in which he debates if leaving a rose with the money would be too much, he decides against it) dude decides that hes going to stop by the dance studio the first day just to observe because he would like to see her dance. he tells this to his hairdresser friend while hanging out at his salon after work, who decides to give him a cool guy makeover to surprise his wife and hopefully help her fall for him. the makeover results in him being practically unrecognizable (but now looks like the actor playing him usually does lol). dude goes to the dance studio after and is mistaken for a participant and is randomly paired with his wife who does not recognize him. he panics and gives her a fake name and acts boistrous and flirty (unlike his usual self) and the rest of the film is them training for a dance competition while dude keeps up a double life as his real self and his Dancing With Wife self. he is also courting her as if he were another man because there is no way this could backfire. wife does fall in love with this persona. while his initial plan was to eventually reveal the truth, dude thinks that theres no way she could be in love with the real him and decides to end the charade. right before the competition dude decides hes just gonna put the house and everything in her name and then leave. I forget what convinces him otherwise but he changes his mind goes to the dance competition and meets wife on stage as his normal husband self, they do the routine together and she realizes who shes been dancing with the whole time. the movie ends on a sweet note before she gets the chance to ask any questions about What The Fuck
