I was drawing Hermes, then I realized I don’t actually have a set design for him.

Which would normally be fine, but I want to give him more animalistic features and I need a reference of my own to do that. Not just wing it the first drawing from other references.

But imma probably give him rabbit feet, one of his sacred animals being a rabbit, so, probably rabbit feet. For the hawk I’ll do my usual and give him feathers on his face and wherever he has body hair. Snakes are pimples through his little staff but he has a tattoo of them on his back.

Also, yes the hair in his face like “Emo Hermes” is based off wolfys Hermes but I like to think my Hermes keeps his hair in his face cause he’s like a copy and paste of his father.

Yk that scene in the Owl House where Hunter looks at himself in the mirror and sees the bad dude/his brother (forgot his name it’s been so long), but it’s like that. And this was even before Hermes despised his dad, so he just kept his hair in his face his whole life.

I believe at one point when he was really depressed cause he got his wings clipped, he grew it out, maybe.

But also I like to think hair in your face or covering part of your face also can look “mysterious”. How I have my version of Nyx so far, she covers her face with a veil, I like the think Hermes was reading about her when he was younger and also wanted to be mysterious in a way where no one truly knows what he looks like…so he’s just edgy.

I’m experimenting with a few new art styles, I’m gonna try and learn backgrounds and anatomy more along with clothings. Like folds, designs, etc. Might do commissions or smth over the summer if I actually put in the effort to grow a following. I do need the money though, so, that’s a motivation!
