Rebuilding What Was Erased – A Message from Abedmajed in Gaza

My name is Abedmajed, and I live in Gaza with what remains of my once large and loving family.

In a single missile strike, we lost over 25 members of our family. They were not just names. They were mothers, daughters, sons, grandparents — people we shared meals with, laughed with, and built dreams with.

The missile hit our family home — the heart of everything we knew.

I find it stupid how people assume Pansexual either means “has s-x with cooking pans”, “an alternate term for “Culinarphilia” or, when you describe it to them, assume you “like to have s-x with everyone and everything”.

The thing is, the prefix in pansexual, Pan, may mean “all,” but it does not mean WE HAVE S-X WITH EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING. Simply put, it means:

- we can hold a place of romantic, intimate, platonic and amicable interest or admiration for those who are Straight, Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Non-binary, Demi, Ase/Aro, and in the Queer and Questioning crowd.

-we can hold a place of admiration or interest for anyone regardless of skin color, race, creed, ability or religion

-we can hold a place of admiration and interest in those who we truly relate to

What it DOES NOT mean, however, is:

-“we have s-x with children” (no, we don’t, it’s disgusting, pedantic and clearly anyone who uses the excuse of “but PaNsExUaL” to weasel their way out of being pegged as a pedo (because that is a HELL of lot more different than a Pan), needs friggin psychological therapy and counseling cause they definitely have something wrong upstairs (and at worst, they need to be dragged by their toes in cement waiters in to a deep lake)

-“we have s-x with animals” (NO THE F-CK WE DO NOT! Again, it is disgusting, pedantic and it’s just wrong on so many levels, and that is also animal abuse. That is also how you get zoonotically transmitted and s-xually transmitted diseases). -“we have s-x with corpses” (again, that is a dead body, THAT IS FU-KING DISGUSTING! And clearly that must make you part penguin, because penguins would only think that way. That and, once again, that is how you get diseases, and that is also a form of r-pe because, even if they aren’t alive, you’re still defiling someone)

-“we have s-x with objects”(unless it’s an “adult toy”, no the f-ck we don’t. Again, PAN DOES NOT MEAN “ANY AND EVERYTHING”. Pan means “all within reason”.

-“we love everyone” (not the case. On the contrary, many pans do have the same sense of morals and justice as anyone else with common sense. If you come across as rude, arrogant, close-minded, egotistical, self-righteous, narcissistic or otherwise just nasty, that’s not ok)

-“we are sexual deviants” (no, we’re not. Again, we don’t have intimate or romantic relationships with everyone and their uncles and cousins. We also do not sell our bodies for “sexual favors”. And no, we don’t have familial relations on an intimate or romantic level)

-“we love cooking” (while there are pans in the culinary fields, there are many in fields outside of the culinary field (I know some who are in the architecture and paleontology fields)

Again, Pan, when referring to Pangender or Pansexuality, means “all within reason”. Within reason being “any consenting adult regardless of sexuality, gender, race, creed, religion, or ability”.
