More Unhinged Kimetsu Academy Headcanons

My demon slayer days are mostly behind me—at least until the next movie and the Hakuji backstory drops—but unfortunately these goobers never seem to leave the back of my mind. And so: 

-Many of the teachers went to the same school, including Kagaya, who was in his third year with Tengen while Giyuu, Sanemi, and Obanai were in their second, and Kyojuro was in his first.

-Tengen was the star of the school theatre club all throughout his academy days, all the way up until his senior year musical. Kagaya decided to try out, mostly on a whim, and was praised by the directors for his hypnotic voice. He was given the lead role. To this day, Tengen is still furious that Kagaya “stole his grand finale”.

-Being a history teacher, Kyojuro is extremely involved with current events. He is especially scandalized by global politics, and believes that if the world was led by people who lit their hearts ablaze with passion and vowed to protect those below them, it would be a much better place. He secretly hopes some of his kindhearted students get into politics and go about making a change for the better.

-Giyuu is VERY confused by all of the slang the young people are using nowadays. He isn’t that old, is he? He tried to use some slang in front of the students once in hope it would help him to connect with them better, and received such a world-shattering side-eye from Shinobu that he never tried it again.

-Gyutaro and Ume get to school on his motorcycle. One time, Tanjiro tried to suggest they wear helmets out of concern for their safety, and in return, Gyutaro nearly ran him over.

-Yushiro is a shockingly excellent student in Tengen’s art class. He especially excelled in the portrait assignment, in which he made a very beautiful painting of nurse Tamayo. The problem with this is that every single assignment end up with him finding a way to include her—even the landscapes.

-Koyuki is still under the impression that Douma is a very kind man who is a friend of Hakuji’s. Hakuji is deeply uncomfortable with this. She insists on going to say hi to him whenever they run into him on the street, and Hakuji has to call upon every calming technique he knows (learned from an anger management course he took on the tail end of his Akaza phase in junior high) to avoid punching Douma into next week.

-Speaking of which, Hakuji’s martial arts skills are topping the charts in competitions. There’s rumors going around the school that he might be heading to nationals soon. He’s trying very hard not to get his hopes up, but the thought of proving himself in front of Keizo and Koyuki and then bringing home a trophy to show the school that he’s a reformed man…it makes him a little lightheaded.

-Recently, Kagaya and Amane got a call from the elementary teachers to inform them that Kuina slapped her brother across the face during recess. They were both horrified—where did their children learn such violence from? However, when they sat her down to talk about it, they were surprised to discover that she, Kiriya, and Kanata had been playing a game pretending that they were saving the world from an evil demon king. They had all gotten a little too in character, and Kuina had pretended to smack some sense into Kiriya—but she, too, was deeply invested in the game and accidentally hit him for real. Their teacher was NOT a fan of this explanation. Kagaya thinks it’s hilarious. Secretly, Amane does too.

But tonight has been a lot, and he’s not sure that he has any strength left in him to get tipsy on Jayce’s couch and still swallow down the urge to taste the wine on his lips.

Yes, please, Says Viktor’s heart. I love you. Let’s hang out tonight. Viktor gives Jayce a little smile. “Maybe tomorrow.” —— Heyyy everybody!!! Here’s the Caitvi wedding fic I’ve been working on!
