My haunting stories

Something is with us in our home and it is not alive. Before I get into the stories, I understand that many people do not believe in the supernatural. I also know that a few of the things I'm going to talk about could be explained away with logic. These are just the events I can remember off the top of my head. I'll do another post if I remember any others.

•I saw ghosts a lot when I was a child. Mainly animals, but a few people too. However I've grown up hearing them more than seeing them.

•My maternal grandfather lived in a house with a basement and that's where the laundry room was. Every person who went into the basement felt that they weren't alone. My mom tells stories of walking up the step and feeling something pull at her ankles through the gap in the stairs.

•When my younger sister was a baby, she would wake up with finger bruises on her arms and legs and one night my mom went in to check on her and she was not alone. Something very much not human was standing over my sisters crib. To this day she swears it was a demon.

•The ghost that stands out to me the most is a little girl. She has been with our family for over 10 years. She's connected to a little dress that my mom has kept.

•The only time I can remember seeing her was when I was about 7 or 8. I was sleeping in my moms bed one night and heard someone go, "Shhh!" And when I opened my eyes a little girl with blonde hair was standing in front of me. I was terrified and pulled the blanket over my head. I think that might be why she's never shown herself to me again.

•There was a game I used to play with my sisters and friends where someone would lay on the top bunk and everyone else would uses their feet to push the mattress off the metal bars. We stop doing it the first time I woke up to my mattress being pushed up while sleeping. I had my own room and could hear both of my sisters sleeping in their room. The pushing didn't stop. It still happens sometimes.

•Then there was the writing on the wall, literally. My mom was helping me out my laundry away one afternoon when I was 11. I was asking her if a few friends could come sleepover and mentioned my friend Kaylie. That night when I went into my closet I noticed the pencil writing on the far wall. It said "Kailey". This is one where it could have been my sisters or someone else who had been to my house, but it was just weird that not only was it misspelled, but also that it showed up the same day that I was talking about wanting to have her spend the night.

•My family lived on a navy base for like 9 years. 6 or so of those years where spent in Georgia. I don't think anyone died in this house, but something strange was there. Every morning there was this man who would descend the stairs and walk down the hallway and then through the front door. What we always figured was that this was an imprint and that the man who we kept seeing, had mad that exact trip to leave for work and he left almost like a footprint when he moved out.

•I also always felt like someone was watching me when I showered in that house, but that could have just been my mind messing with me.

•I was walking home on Halloween some time during elementary school and saw a deer standing in a field and as I watched it, the deer faded into mist and disappeared.

•I loved to Texas and we rented a house. I had two types of experiences. The first was the door to my closet opened during the night, even when I put things in front of it. I would put my backpack full of books in front of the door and when I would wake up, the backpack would be moves forward and the door would be open.

•The second may have been because of raccoons. Every night for about an hour or so there would be scratching on the ceiling above my room and my grandmas. Either ghosts or critters where in my roof.

That leads me to the house we bought. I've lived here for nearly 3 and a half years. We smugged the house with sage twice.

•When we moved in, my bed was in the middle of the room and it just felt off. I couldn't sleep through the night until I moved it against the far wall.

•One of the first nights I spent in the house I saw something moving in he dark on the landing of the stairs. I could have been one of our dogs, or a demon, take your pick.

•I'm going to say not a dog, because several times after that,my mom, grandma and I had seen blurs of people running from the room where our attic is, down the hall into my sisters room.

•I also want to mention that my closet has sliding mirror doors that I spent two days covering with posters and pictures so I couldn't see anything but my feet. My worst fear is seeing something scary in the mirror.

•Now I want to talk about the room leading to the attic. My uncle slept there for close to a year before moving into the room next to it. He is a sceptic and says he didn't notice anything.

•However, everyone else who has slept in that room says there is something terrifying about it.

•I don't know if it's because it connects to the attic, but it is SO hot in that room. Even with the door and window open, it's a good 15 degrees hotter in there than anywhere else.

•My maternal grandfather stayed the weekend and after the first night he slept on the couch. He said he had a horrible nightmare (he never remembers his dreams) and refused to enter again.

•That same night that he had the nightmare, my mom did too. And I had my first ever case of sleep paralysis.

•I decided to move my bed back into the middle of the room around a year ago. I did this so I could have more room. The day I moved it, things started happening. First there was this feeling that something was stepping on my feet. It was always just a feeling until one night when I actually saw the blankets around my feet being pushed down as if some thing was there.

•My theory is that one of the former occupants had either a cat or a small dog (chihuahua because this is Texas and they are everywhere) and that it died and was looking for a place to sleep. I have learned to ignore it when it happens.

•So I only have one small window in my room. It's in the left most corner of the room and it leads out onto small stretch of roof that connects with the room next to mine. For months every night around 2 o'clock I would hear persistent tapping on my window and walls around it. Raccoons, my sisters, ghosts, demons? Who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

•For a while my mattress sat on two box springs because I didn't have a bedframe. I have a rotating fan to my right side (remember that fan for later). So one night I was awoken as something shoved my mattress nearly a foot off the box springs. It knocked my fan down and I didn't sleep during the night for a few days.

•This is small, but a few time my sage has moved around my closet and I hear things fall in there all the time. I've grown to love with it.

•Three nights ago I was awoken at 3 o'clock at night by my rotating fan stopping, like the motor wasn't making noise, but the blades moved as if someone was gently moving them. After 5 minutes or so, the motor started back up and ran fine for 24 hours. Again at 3 o'clock the fan stopped, moved slowly with no sound and then ran fine. It had woken me up again. However, last night when I didn't fall asleep until 7 in the morning, the fan didn't stop once. Spooky right? I'll have to see if it happens again tonight.

So if the both of my parents have two quirks that they got from their parents, what will I get?

So for example:

If my dad can control fire and water, and my mom can control earth and air, can I control all the elements?

Or would I be able to control like Lava and Mist?

I'm not sure if anyone else has questioned this or if anyone knows. But what do you think? Could you get 4 different quirks or would they combine to create an all new one?
