I really wanna watch Steven universe but no matter where I searched, there's no closed captioning. :(

Hi anon! 

I don’t watch Steven Universe. BUT. I do stream a lot of shows that don’t have subtitles. So I figured out a while ago how to download subtitles and use a subtitle player over the video. 

First I would recommend finding a good subtitle player. I know a lot of people like Greenfish. I personally use SRT player for mac.  Once you get that, then I would download subtitles. I like Addic7ed. But you can also google “Steven Universe Subtitles” and download subtitles that way. 

Once you’ve downloaded the subtitles. Open them through the subtitle player. Then you can put the box that holds the text of the subtitles over the video and watch. :D

I have a question: is everyone, like, 'allowed' to caption videos, or is that for these kind of blogs only?

Anybody is definitely welcome to caption videos on their blogs! The more people caption videos, the more accessible it makes Tumblr and other platforms for d/Deaf/HoH people so they know what is being said in the videos.

This blog is just an easy way of having all captioned videos in one place so people who visit CR (or other captioning blogs) can search for or look at only captioned videos.
