Genuine question: what is the concern when castiel is getting choked out?? Like not to sound like Dean Winchester but does he even need to breath??

dean loooooves to hold castiel’s face in his hands but he’s only allowed to do that in the most dire of situations like when castiel has been stabbed to death or possibly turned into a rabid dog by a witch

when you realize cas never got a chance to see dean mourn him. to see what his death did to dean. how it broke him completely. SHATTERED. he never saw dean's utter despair. anger. complete hopelessness. he only ever saw dean's joy when he came back. and so cas figured that his death simply didn't affect dean all that much. that dean could be happy with Cas gone. that Dean could go on. Move on. cas never understood that this joy, this hope, this smile on dean's face after he came back was ONLY BECAUSE HE CAME BACK. CAME BACK TO DEAN.

Cas was the REASON.

This probably isn’t new or groundbreaking but I’m rewatching season 8 of Supernatural and I’m sitting here thinking “what was so different about the real Dean that stopped Cas?”

Like obviously it’s supposed to be their friendship and deep connection (also they’re in love but that’s not the point right now)

My new headcanon is that Naomi forgot about Dean’s soul. Cas is connected to Dean on the deepest level and he sees Dean’s soul when they are together (it’s one reason why Cas loves Dean so much but that’s not the point either)

None of the Dean clones were completely Dean so when Cas killed them, it didn’t matter. But when faced with the real, true Dean Cas could see the part of Dean that he met first. The first part of Dean he fell in love with, and it broke through the brainwashing

If I had a nickel for every time Dean Winchester breaks Cass out of a mind spell that makes him unwillingly violent I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s GAY that it happened twice.

i’m gonna be so real, before i was in the fandom when i saw the scene back in november i genuinely thought “that actor must be homophobic and that’s why he’s acting like that” but i have since seen the light
