I'd say it's the interaction, the events that inspire creativity and diversity, the kindness and receptiveness of people in this fandom💕 it's my first time being in a place where a status of a fan is not about constant gossiping and online stalking of the actors, but actually about being a part of a beautiful community, nurturing your talents and sharing your creations and ideas with open-minded, friendly people✨

have you ever gone on a trip with a friend? if so, how did it go: does one day spent on a river bank counts? It was a great experience, a hot sunny day spent swimming, sunbathing and eating nice food

I don't know if I ever shared this thought with all of you. But have you ever thought about how much of a shock Mickey must have had literally every time he left and came back to Ian looking complete different? Like... look at this (under the cut)

S1, he last saw Ian looking like this:

S2, he comes back and this is what greets him:

ok, so then we get through S2, right, and this is the last time he sees Ian:

He's gone for a few months.... comes back and finds THIS:

well damn, his not-boyfriend had a bit of a glow-up, huh? But ok, then S3 they Ian walks away from him looking like this:

S4, he goes searching for him, and finds THIS:

so this time they manage to stay together for a little bit, Ian grows and changes a bit more as teenage boys do. S6, this is the last glimpse he has of Ian:

he's kinda looking like a grown-up now, huh? But skinny and pale from the meds and everything he's been through. So, Mickey, understandably concerned, eventually breaks out of prison and goes searching for him... to be met with this:

And it just doesn't stop there! They have a few great days together, another heartbreaking separation, and Mickey last sees him looking like this:

Time passes, Mickey hears his man is in trouble, so he comes home... and this is who he finds:

I mean, come on.... no wonder he kept coming back. Every time he left, Ian grew and got hotter somehow.

I've got more, look!

They've been together only for 3 days and they've spent almost all this time play fighting, but today this happened and I'm currently going insane about them cuddling ✨

It's been a wild ride getting the black kitty (Mickey, of course) home to his Jan/Ian, but they are finally together and I couldn't be happier to see them play and snuggle with each other💕 and now I can't stop taking pictures of them... (You can tell, right?😂)

Hi! Thanks for asking me!💕

2. Do they have a regular Friday night ritual?

They absolutely do! I'm sure they work their asses off to earn money, save up for their own place or for travelling... So they definitely need the-end-of-the-week ritual of some kind. I think they have a bath together (Mickey 100% enjoys it because it helps him unwind), order takeout from somewhere, grab a few comforters, settle down on the couch in front of the TV and binge watch some shows until they fall asleep cuddling ✨

5. What kind of music playlists do they have?

Mickey is the type of guy to listen to Led Zeppelin, Metallica, AC/DC and stuff - classic rock, heavy metal, that kind of thing. All of it is jammed into one playlist for all purposes. Ian, on the other hand, I'm convinced that he has a lot of playlists for different purposes: morning runs, workouts, cooking/cleaning (or other chores), relaxing, car rides. He digs the kind of music Mickey listens to, while also vibing to pop stars. Mickey, of course, teases the hell out of him for it, but ultimately sings along to some hits when he's in the mood😄

24. Does Ian ever get Mickey to go stare at the organic fruit with him?

Absolutely! The moment Mickey makes peace with living on the west side, they go shopping and stop by Whole Foods to indulge in Ian's obsession with healthy meals and fresh greenery. Ian's super excited about it and Mickey is so unamused, but they agree on one thing: the food is waaay too overpriced and they settle on buying fresh fruit and vegetables from the street market down the street🌿

15. How messy is their apartment?

Hehe, I stick to the headcanon that it is fairly clean thanks to Ian. He might have to nag Mickey about the socks left somewhere on the floor or an excessive amount of dishes in the sink every once in a while though.

Idk why, but I often catch myself imagining their apartment spotless, almost too clean, when in reality I'd like it to be full of little meaningful things they buy or get from their siblings or other sentimental shit Mickey would bitch about (affectionate) and Ian would adore. And that may come with having a few things out of place just for the vibe of it.

So I'll go with relatively tidy. Definitely without cigarette butts and beer cans all over the place😄

27. What random/dangerous/stupid things did they get up to that we didn’t see in canon?

They absolutely, definitely, undoubtedly went skinny-dipping in that west side pool. And idk about pissing in it, but I'm 100% sure Mickey wanted to jump Ian's bones in it the moment they started to finally get used to the place. That reminds me, there's this fic that I absolutely loved featuring this moment - nevermind the audience. It's awesome and it's exactly how I imagine it to go!

Talking about earlier seasons, I wholeheartedly believe they've been on so many dates (like the subtle kind because come on Mickey Milkovich doesn't go on dates duh🙄😂) and these dates included sneaking into different kinds of places: to the movies, Sox games, up the roof with a bunch of snacks and joints to just hang out, watch the sunrise and stuff... And I have a fic reference for this one as well - Mickey Milkovich's Guide to Flirting - it's got perfect examples of various random stuff they got up to and we didn't get to see💕

Here thinking that Ian was the first person to treat Mickey with kindness and affection, and that was what made Mickey fall in love.

I believe that the lust was there since their first scene together in the fight in the bedroom (Mickey's repressed lust in this case), but when Ian goes after Mickey and says 'I need to see you' when he goes to look for Mick at the Milkovich house. And when he says 'I miss you' when he goes to visit Mickey at the reformatory, something falls and surrenders in Mick.

Knowing the life Mickey had, Terry was horrible, and even those who loved Mickey (like Mandy and Iggy) always treated him like a piece of shit, not out of malice, it's just the chaotic way they were raised, being rude and taking offense for no reason, because they were taught that's how to treat people.

So when that soft, gentle redheaded boy, besides giving Mickey great orgasms, looks at him with need, makes him feel important by needing him and missing him? Oh my god. Mickey's world must have spun in his chaotic head, disillusioned with anything resembling love. How precious my dirtiest white boy in America must have felt, for the first time in his life. I can only imagine he tried to convince himself that that fucking softness was just another fag thing, and not something about him, exactly.

But damn, it's hard to be treated kindly and resist letting it get to you for too long.

In my mind, between the 'I need to see you' and 'I missed you' scenes, Ian must have been kind in other ways. I imagine conversations like 'Which cigarette do you like best?' or 'I saved you some Barbecue Pringles before I ran out' or even 'It's cold in Chicago, I brought you a pair of gloves because I saw yours are torn'. Yes, to me, Ian was probably kind to Mickey in a casual way, just to care, like the Gallaghers do to each other, and that changed everything.

I wonder how Mickey must have avoided thinking about that. How coming close to elaborating on any thought about how someone is just kind and gentle, without wanting to get something out of you in return or laugh at you for it, must have made him sweat and feel ashamed, so he avoided any trace of it in his mind.

For me, that's how Mickey fell in love.

I believe that other people may have been kind to him later, perhaps. Maybe in Mexico. I don't know. But I believe that no matter who came after, no matter how well anyone else may have treated Mickey (or slept with him), the framework for what he wanted, for what it felt like to be loved for the first time, was entirely created and ingrained in his brain, body and heart by Ian Gallagher.

Mickey clocks out of his Old Army shift at 7:02 but doesn’t make to the back door of the Gallagher house until 8:18. His movements are slow and stiff as he brings his key to the lock and twists.

Long. Fucking. Day.  He thinks to himself.

Thankfully, no one is in the kitchen to make note of his arrival. But, he can hear that the living room TV is on. He hopes that it’s Ian sat in front of the screen, and not any other members of the family.

When his stomach growls, he groans in annoyance.

He hasn’t eaten since his lunch break early in the afternoon, but he also can’t remember the last time he sat down. 

He’s pretty sure his feet will fall off if he stays on them any longer.

He decides that his stomach will have to wait. 

Ian turns his head at the sound of his boyfriend’s footsteps. He flashes Mickey a brief smile, but it quickly falls away when he takes in Mickey’s demeanor. 

With a groan, Mickey flops onto the couch beside him. His eyes close almost instantly.

“You okay?” Ian asks, as he picks up the remote and pauses the screen in front of him. 

Mickey shrugs. 

“Tired.”

Ian’s hand finds its way to Mickey’s thigh and he gives it a loving squeeze. 

“Ready for bed?”

Mickey shakes his head.

“’Hungry,” he answers through a yawn.

“Debbie made chicken and rice earlier. You want that?”

“Sure.”

Ian’s quick on his feet as he heads towards the kitchen. The bowl of food that he set aside for Mickey earlier is on the counter waiting for this very moment. 

It spends 2 minutes in the microwave spinning slowly.

When he comes back into the living room, he turns on the lamp beside the couch. 

Mickey winces even though the lamp’s light is dim.

“I’m sleeping,” he complains. 

“Nope, not yet. Baby, you gotta eat.” 

Ian sets the bowl down next to Mickey’s feet that are resting on the coffee table. 

Mickey still has his work shoes on, and Ian can’t help but let out a small laugh at the style of them. They’re nothing close to what Mickey would ever choose to wear.

“You gonna sit up to eat?”

“Can’t.”

“You can’t sit up?”

Mickey shakes his head. His eyes are still closed.

“’My fucking feet hurt.”

And even though Ian doesn’t quite understand the correlation, he still nods his head in understanding as he goes to reclaim his spot on the couch. 

“Bring your feet here,” he says. “Let me take your shoes off.”

Mickey cracks one eye open. He looks at his boyfriend incredulously. 

“I’m not a fucking baby. I can take my own shoes off, man,” he asserts.

 Even though he makes no attempt to do so. 

“I never said you were,” Ian shoots back. “Let me do this. Let me take care of you,” he pleads.

The 6 words do the trick and Mickey turns toward Ian. He brings both of his legs to rest in his boyfriend’s lap and Ian does his part to take off the offending shoes. 

“Don’t forget your food,” he says softly. He lets Mickey lean over to grab the ceramic bowl and begin eating. 

“Thanks for saving me some,” Mickey mumbles around a mouthful. 

“’Course.”

With that, Ian presses play on the old Jason Clarke film he was watching before Mickey came home. 

It’s all enough for Mickey to begin to feel the stress of the day leave his body. Enough for him to swallow away complaints of bitchy customers, and focus in on Jeffery Dean Morgan running out of a burning building. 

When Ian’s hand wraps around his foot, he’s caught off guard. 

Initially, he squirms at the contact, but his hesitation quickly morphs into realization and his entire body relaxes.

Ian’s giving him a foot massage.

And while he hasn’t asked for one, he’s already feeling relief from it.

He feels the love in the gesture, too.

He pokes Ian’s belly with his big toe.

“You trying to get laid or something?” 

Ian rolls his eyes. His lips twitch into a smile.

“Laid by the guy that just worked a 9-hour shift?”

As if on command, Mickey yawns in response. He laughs a bit at the irony.

“Man, who am I kidding? I’m so fucking tired.”

And the way he says it makes Ian’s hands go still.

The last couple weeks have been a whirl wind for the both of them. Getting readjusted to everything has been exhausting. And while Ian didn’t exactly have a choice when it came to coming back to the only home he’s ever known, he knows that Mickey doesn’t have to be here with him if he truly doesn’t want to be.

After a beat, Ian speaks again. His voice is timid. 

“Are you still happy to be home?”

Mickey’s face screws up. What kind of question is that?

“You think I’d rather still be locked up?”

Ian blows out a tense breath. The agitation in Mickey’s voice is clear and he internally kicks himself for being the reason behind it.

“No, I just know you’re stressed with work, and parole, and being back here with all of us,” Ian lists off. “I don’t want you to re-”

Mickey cuts him off then. 

“Stop,” he whines, uncharacteristically childlike. “Massage my feet and take me to bed. Don’t start with all that shit.”

Ian does what he’s told. They’re both silent for an awkward moment. The movies still playing. Mickey’s bowl still sat on the coffee table. 

His feet not feeling so bad anymore.

“I want to be here with you,” Mickey promises eventually. “I want everything with you, man. You gotta know that by now.”

Ian sighs.

“I didn’t think it would be this hard,” he confesses. “I wanted you here with me so you could fucking relax for once. Not work yourself to death at some shitty teen clothing store.”

Mickey chuckles. He hears the concern in Ian’s voice.

“Hey man, don’t shit on Old army."

Ian cuts his eyes over to him. He’s got the nerve to look so relaxed despite it all.

“You know what I mean.”

Mickey shrugs.

“It’s not all bad,” he says with an ease that surprises Ian. “It’s been a Hell of a lot worse, don’t you think?”

Ian finally lets himself laugh. 

“Yeah, it has.”

“You gotta stop worrying about everything,” Mickey tells him. “Shit will figure itself out.”

Ian nods in agreement.

 If he’s being honest with himself, he’s scared of how things will settle out. But with Mickey sounding so sure about everything, he doesn’t let that fear have too much of a say.

When Mickey yawns again, Ian smiles. He grabs the remote and cuts the movie off without a second thought. 

“C’mon let’s get you to bed. Tomorrow will be here before we know it.”

“Do you think I’ll graduate?” Mickey asks

“You’re repeating sophomore year for the second time” Mrs Goldstein doesn’t even bother looking up from where she’s grading papers.

“I know but, like, eventually”

“I’ll ask you something better” she finally looks up and stares at Mickey. “What’s the point?”

“Jeez” Mickey huffs, trying to play off the hurt he feels deep down “Thought you were meant to inspire me or whatever”

“Mickey” she sighs “You’re smart, incredibly smart but the school system is targeted against people like you and you know it”

Mickey goes to speak but is interrupted.

“In an ideal world, where you can pass high school without attendance effecting anything. Yes, you’d pass easily but this is the real world and the real world is saying no”

“So what, am I just here on my own free will?” Mickey slides down from where he’d been perched on the backrest of the chair. “What’s stopping me from going home right now?”

“You’re guess is as good as mine” Mrs Goldstein replies “But here you are, in my classroom, during lunch for the fifth day in a row”

“Well” Mickey doesn’t know how to respond to the call out “Whatever”

“You could get your GED instead”

“You think so?” Mickey asks

“Sure” Mrs Goldstein says, pulling out a sheet of paper from a stack on her left “Your brother did it instead of graduating and even he passed”

“Colin took his GED?” Mickey asks incredulously before the rest of what she said caught up “Hold up, Colin PASSED his GED?”

Mrs Goldstein graces Mickey with a rare smile. She’s been Mickey’s teacher for two years now and Mickey could probably count her smiles on one hand.

“Look” She stands up and walks over to where Mickey’s sat. “Fill this in and we can pick a date, you’ll pass with flying colours”

“Is that a fucking gay joke?” Mickey raises an eyebrow

“You tell me” she says turning her back and walking back to her desk “You were the one arguing that every book has gay undertones so us teachers can’t mark you wrong without looking homophobic”
