Honestly one of the reasons I'm confused that it seems like I'm the only person who came out of season 1 more or less convinced that Vander was/would turn out to have been almost entirely in the wrong w/r/t this whole premeditated attempted murder thing
Hello today i was collecting references for sketching purposes and,,, i just-
Look
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at his face… in such a short moment you can see so so much, the abject terror of the moment, the desperation of breah and what gets me the most is like,, to me at least, he looks heartbroken.
God and the fact you can see the nerve damage has already set in where his face is injured bc his eyebrow isnt moving. The detail of that is insaaaane, like they rlly dont miss a trick with the animation.
this is genuinely one of the reasons i struggle to characterise Vander because how can you see this!!! ^^^
And go back and grab him again

I don't mind it only because it so very clearly does not apply to any version of the character that actually made it into the show that I can only imagine that this was a very early character concept that they put as some kind of did-you-know sort of thing
Like. C'mon.
That is not the bearing of anyone fitting that description in any way. You don't make a character you want to convey that look like that
‘dirty little thing’ my beloathed
how do people like this addition to the character that came out of nowhere and is still not established anywhere in s1 or s2 canon but solely in interviews. like if this was about Mylo or Vi I’d understand, but when does Silco not ooze confidence and self-assuredness and superiority complex anytime he’s on screen. it's not only baseless to think this guy had some inferiority complex but I also don't know how you reconcile that with how he actually behaves like on screen

Is it bad that I'm secretly enjoying even Inquisition fans not particularly liking the New New (New) Dragon Age, as someone who's been slowly breaking up with the franchise ever since "elf-blooded humans"--for which I will, for reasons that should be obvious to anyone who knows me, never ever forgive them?

Nope.
Honestly I think at this point this nonsense isn't even making me mad anymore, it's just funny now.
If I see one more person shopping Vander and Silco I'm going to lose it. THEY ARE BROTHERS

I guess this is pretty close to my assessment too.
Would I have liked to have continued with the political thread more? Absolutely, yes. Do I recognize that this show is literally called Arcane and so that was probably never in the cards? Well. Y'know.
Hadn't personally connected it with the Jinx stuff but that makes sense too.
for the record, i agree with the criticism that the zaun-piltover conflict kind of fell to the wayside in the last act. they definitely prioritized the arcane storyline over the political aspect that was so central to the first season and i would've liked to have more closure on that. but i also think that jinx's storyline wasn't the right place to do it. i think that given the conversation she had with her hallucination of silco in the jail cell, she came to the conclusion that he wouldn't have wanted for her to be the face of his revolution like sevika thought
violence has ruled jinx's life for so long and to continue to remain there would have perpetuated it. in season 1 she was emotionally unstable and hallucinating constantly because of the stress she was under. and we've seen when she's happiest, and it was when she was free from that violence with isha or in the commune with vi. silco's last words were reassurances that the whole revolution wouldn't have been worth it if she wasn't there with him. he used his dying breath not to tell her to continue it without him, but to reassure her that she was still perfect in his eyes. i don't know if he understood the harm he was doing to her by forcing her to continue that cycle of violence. but in the end leading the revolution would have eventually made her miserable. her leaving gives her a chance to finally be free

Absolutely not, nothing will ever convince me that the self-admittedly--hilariously--shitty letter would have totally worked if [biiig "if" to be fair] found in time
(But then again I prefer to think it was not actually the letter that did it)
It's not that in gay love universe Silco found Vander's letter, you know? It's that I'm hoping Vander wrote a better fucking letter.

Vander : I've seen too much death on that bridge. Nobody should die for this cause any more.
Vander : I'm feeling fucking awful about my close friend dying there. Your mom, yeah.
Vander : I mean yes I organised this revolt too but like... I didn't throw any molotovs. Yeah I killed people with mining gauntlets, but like I said, no more death now.
Vander : so anyway, I'm going to go kill my boyfriend, then we can make dinner. Brb, children.

I finally watched this movie yesterday and ngl I wonder how long that poor ump let the whole... thing go on for until he was like, Okay, guys? Do you... want to continue this tiebreak any time soon, or...?
(Maybe he was too stunned/mesmerized to call the point for a looong time, lmao)
My favorite part of Challengers was the referee at this local tournament in New Rochelle who is just trying to call a game of tennis while a fifteen-year throuple situationship implodes in front of him. Like you know after the movie ended he went to Chili’s down the street and had five glasses of wine while he attempted to unpack what the hell just happened

Well, then
That's me reassured for suuure 🫠🫠🫠
Yeah, so, uh,,, that ITT last year was difficult to take, and tbh it already shifted my sympathies, but you know what I find truly unbelievable?
That a guy who spent 12 days in hospital a few months ago, is now doing this. If he has his own "I'm gone, I'm dead" moment in a few days, sure, maybe, but so far... 🤐🤐

See, I could see that angle working in general (I strongly feel that having been raised by Sabertooth is very worthy of sympathy, y'know? 😂) if not for the fact that we already know GC freaks out at the mere sight of him [sidenote: Graydon, dude, therapy would have been cheaper and probably more helpful].
Weirdly, at the same time I wonder if, like, his old friends could actually be running the show with him on a very, very tight leash?
Or maybe it'll just actually turn out to be Mystique lol. IDK either but I'm really curious to see where they're gonna go with this.
I'm surprised to hear that Graydon Creed is running for any sort of office since the fact that he's the son of mutants was revealed and he was ejected from the Friends of Humanity at least at one point because of it. Also, if I remember right, the last time we saw him, he was about to get a dose of the only kind of "fatherly love" Victor Creed knows (X-Men TAS has the actually good Sabretooth backstory, as a reminder).
Well, the apple didn't fall far from the Sabretooth/Mystique tree in terms of personality, so I guess it's not that surprising.

Yeah, like I'm having some trouble understanding him both surviving and escaping dear old dad, and how this campaign of his could possibly have any legs because we know what his old pals (who you'd expect would have to be the backbone of his support?) think of him and uh, some leopards ate his face already.
I'd be very interested to see where this goes (especially as someone who's unduly fascinated by that guy's Whole Thing)

This is the least important part out of anything but... is that guy's actual literal given name actually, for real, "Sebastion" with an O??

Yeah alright, I guess this works too. Like, I don't think I would've accepted any other variation of Magneto actually surviving--those weren't death lasers but knockout lasers in this one instance, sure, whatever; clearly there's a plan of some sort unfolding here I will accept it because Cartoon Logic--but this one, specific scenario?
Sure!
Sooo I think all the deaths from the episode should stick.
You know, for now. Until the inevitable time travel fix via Cable and/or Bishop fixes everything ("everything" 👀)
