Summary: Learned helplessness; a theory in which, when subjected to uncontrollable stressful stimuli, you eventually believe you cannot do anything to improve your circumstances, even when given the option. An experiment that Byeong-chan sees replicated in his son and in his students which he had once hoped to break. Unfortunately, as much as he fights it, that may not be enough to render himself immune. Jae-ik has never heard of the theory but he knows that they're going to get out of this damn apocalypse together- no matter what.
