Hallie and Matt's final few episodes were reminding me so much of Evan and Violets

Hallie and Matt reconnect after a few months apart - the same happens to Violet and Evan. Both are better than ever and happy. A tragic accident occurs that kills one of them. Matt and Violet both have devastating scenes where they try to bring their loved on back to life.

Having to watch Matt during that final scene broke my heart. The sobbing - Jesse went all out on his acting choices and I respect that. Then Peter being the only fucking person to come forward to comfort him BROKE ME EVEN FURTHER.

I really wish we had some sort of scene where Matt talked to Violet about how he got through the death of Hallie. As this is more relatable than Severide and Anna (no offence, Anna had cancer - her death wasn't a tragic accident)

Would have loved to see them bonding over losing their loved ones too early.

i whole heartedly, 100%, believe that had evan not died, he and violet would’ve gotten married.

i think evan completely changed relationships for her, she knows she’s worth more than just casual hook ups with guys who act like boys (gallo🙄), she’s worth having an actual relationship where they talk things through and plan out their lives together.

i don’t think she’ll ever love anybody like she loved evan. her talk with the heckler proved that she’s still deeply grieving his loss and waking up without him every day is the worst kind of pain for her. there will come a day when she’s ready to move on but i’ll always wish that he was still around :(

Nightmares, Healing and New Beginnings

In the weeks after Hawkin’s funeral, Violet has a nightmare about him while Stella has a nightmare about Severide and both women try to deal with their nightmares in their own ways. Later Stella, Sylvie and Chloe pay a visit to Violet and the three women all help Violet with coming to terms and healing from the loss of Hawkins.

Elsewhere, Boden asks to meet Severide and both men talk about the changes that have happened at Firehouse 51, the losses they’ve had and the possibilities of the future. Boden then ends up giving Severide a surprise offer.
