Not an ask, but a comment: I love this blog. I am super behind, and am currently writing for all the previous prompts (under my side blog dedicated strictly to writing @thekeeperandthechaser). But just letting you know that I have a blast challenging myself with these!

The prompt I wanted to suggest was "because I love you, you idiot!"

It comes from girlmore girls and I had this line in my mind for a while but I haven't (yet!) wrote a fic with it. If it can serve as an inspiration to others, then great!

Dark and Deadly

Prompt: “You’re impossible!” “I know. But you love me anyway.” – @challengingwords​ #55

Pairing: Lee Jihoon x female reader

Genre: fluff

Warnings: mildly suggestive at the end, and some male insecurity

A/N: After reading a lot of books over the past year, I wanted to bring up a common theme I’ve found in them and how men all see to have the same height lol.

Word count: 1156

“Honey, I’m home!” you called out cheerfully, leaning against the entryway wall to unzip your ankle boots, kicking them off and moving into your slippers before stepping up into your apartment.

You knew Jihoon was home, given the neat arrangement of his own sneakers in the doorway, and bounded through the house towards the living room. Smiling brightly when you spotted his feet dangling over the side of his favourite armchair, you made your way to his side. “What are you doing?”

He didn’t bother glancing in your direction and grunted out, “Research.”

You frowned, dropping your gaze to what he held in his hand. For a moment, you didn’t put it together. But that brightly covered case belonged to your kindle, not his. You gasped. “What are you doing?!”

“I told you, research.”

Monthly Challenge - January 2022

How it works:

Every second month we’ll release a list of 7 prompts. They will currently be of prompts we’ve already released but in the future, we will create a different set of prompts for this challenge.

How you use the prompts is up to you. You could create a oneshot and challenge yourself to put them all in, or make it a series / a couple parts long. Whatever sparks your interest, so long as you use at least 5 of the 7 prompts in the group.

The prompts have been randomly generated together. You can order the prompts however you feel it suits your story best. It’s up to you to create a vision for how they work together.

You can alter the prompt wording slightly to suit your story if needed.

There is no time frame to get the challenge done, but admin will aim to release their content within the same month as the challenge.

Please use the tag #cwmonthly within the first 5 tags for this challenge. When participating with a series, please make sure to tag each part so we can find it and queue it to the blog.

Conveniently Yours - Part 7

Summary: You knew better than to enter a marriage of convenience with your boss’ grandson. But you wanted that senior partnership, and it wasn’t as if Jaebum was a stranger - you knew him rather intimately. It was only a year together, and then you could divorce him and achieve your biggest career goal. But would it be as simple as that?

Author’s note: This story is a drabble/mini series. It covers over an entire year in just eight short parts. It’s not as in-depth as this world could have been done, but I hope you enjoy it all the same.

You stared at Jaebum before a hoarse coughing fit took over, your hand thumping on your chest to dislodge it. You wondered if you could remove the lump that was forming in your throat with how hard you were coughing too.

Sitting up, Jaebum reached over you for the bottle of water on the nightstand and handed it to you. Nodding in silent gratitude, you took a couple of harsh gulps before the desire to cough eased. You gripped the bottle in your hands, unsure of what to think or say.

“Y/N,” Jaebum started, and you willed your eyes to look at him. He looked nervous momentarily before squaring his jaw. “Do you want to divorce me?”

It’s A Date

Prompt: “Whoa. That’s not how it happened.” – @challengingwords​ prompt #53

Pairing: Yoon Jeonghan x female reader (ft. Woozi)

Genre: fluff / brother’s best friend trope

Warnings: light cursing, protective brother, Y/N has a nightmare

Word count: 1321

“You’re back earlier than expected,” your brother Jihoon announced as you stormed into your shared apartment, the sound of the front door slamming shut behind you rattling both men on the couch.

You drew up short when you saw Jihoon’s best friend Jeonghan next to him, groaning out loud at the cruelty of the universe. On the one evening where you wanted to throw a shit fit and be uncaring of how you did so, of course, Jeonghan was here.

And because he was your longest crush, you swallowed down the excessive nature of your rage. You were still simmering, however, and threw your bag down on the entryway stand. “I got stood up.”

“Y/N was on a date?” Jeonghan enquired, looking between you and your sibling for clarification. You wanted him to look disappointed, not interested.

Jihoon’s eyes narrowed. “I thought it was a study group.”
