Heyyooo due to social media migration, I’m back on tumblr! A lot has changed since I used this platform last, so here’s a brief overview of projects in the last year or so. Been busy working on commissions and cleaning after the mad scramble before #C2E2. Check out my work so far on #Rey's belt from #TheForceAwakens for @ali.fatality I did several washes of dyes and inks on the belt, sanding some layers off in between each layer of dyeing, and then finished it by adding all the sweat stains on the borders of the belt. After it dried, I rolled the belt in on itself a bunch to get it to that worn texture on top. I also took the rings and sanded most of the finish off of them. After that I added them so a small bath of vinegar, salt, and small copper pieces to slowly rust/copper plate them to make them look worn and old. I am very pleased with the outcome! So since I've been busy as all he'll trying to finish remaking/ making stuff for Legolas by tomorrow, I fail at my delivery of promised spams of what I'm working on. Instead, here's one really cluttered collage of everything I've been working on this week. Top row left to right: 1.Wood grain paint on Knife handles (one is the actual replica, the other two I'm working on) 2. Scabbards for the new knives 3. Sculpting of new belt buckles 4. Molding of new Elf Ear sculpt Bottom row left to right: 1. Industrial 2 part silicone and fiberglass molds of the replica knives I own 2. Resin casts of the new belt buckles 3. Resin casts of the replica knives. Now they are con safe, but still look like they are real metal >:) 4. Sculpt of the new elf ear prosthetics I'll make more detailed posts about each individually at a later date. I will also be making tutorials on how all this was done. Old quiver vs. new quiver. This one is more accurate, lighter, and the gold detail looks more like metal. I could not be happier with how this one turned out. I will be selling my old quiver off to anyone who would be interested. Pm me with an offer. Serious offers only. This is highly detailed and fiberglass construction with over 10 hours of work. Finally done with the sculpt of this.... just gotta let the epoxy cure and then the best part, PAINTING!!!!! Waaaaaaay lighter, slightly smaller, and like 10 x's more accurate than my last one! Revisiting old costumes is something I'm sure we all think about sometimes, but rarely get the chance to do. Especially when cosplay plans start building up and you more likely would make something new than remake something old. As I have entered Legolas into C2E2's crown championship cosplay competition, I decided to put my new cosplay plans aside to fullfil my ever wanting need to remake some things on my leggy. New opportunities make way for wish fulfillments! Here's the start of my new Legolas quiver. As you can see by the first one, my proportions slipped away from me a bit and I ended up making it a tad too large in some areas. For this new one, I made sure to sit down and draw drafts and do math to get the correct proportions. This one will be smaller, lighter, and 100% screen accurate! #C2E2, get ready, Legolas is coming back, and this time he'll be competing for a shot at the #crownchampionshipsofcosplay Am I nervous? So remember that Judge Dredd Helmet I was working on? Well I delivered it to my customer at #dragoncon already and totes forgot to post it up here. I was pretty busy last weekend. Anyways here it is, fully finished and weathered to match Dredd's Helmet seen on screen!
