EVERYONE HAS SAID IT BEFORE BUT DAMMIT IM SAYING IT AGAIN
Friendships are everything. Connecting with people is everything. Telling a friend "I love you" because you love them and you want them to know leaves the warmest feelings in your heart. And girl friendships??? Unparalleled. I (a girl) never found it easy to connect with other girls my age but when I do??? Like, saying "I love you" to my best friend from high school before ending a weekly phone call, holding my friend's hand while we walked through the mall on her birthday, sharing poke with the girl I've known since we were in diapers and always being able to pick up where we left off, I don't know... it's just something else, man.
TLDR; Friends good, should be cherished, heavy emphasis on girl friendships

Hack to picking up a new hobby?
you know how sometimes it's hard to pick up new hobbies if you aren't good at it right away? I've had that problem and a problem that stems from that which is, if you become good at a certain level of a new hobby, you get too scared to level up.
I'll use learning bass as an example (bc that's what I use this hack for): I will learn a new bass line at a slow bpm, but if I perfect it at that bpm, I'll have a hard time moving on to a faster speed. It feels like 'it was hard enough perfecting it at 90bpm now I gotta do it all over again at 100bpm? and then 150bpm??'
This is the hack: I don't practice until it's perfect at 90bpm. I practice until I have like, an 80-90% success rate at 90bpm. Once I think it's manageable (manageable! not perfected!) at 90bpm then I move up, and practice it at the faster speed again until it's 80-90% perfect. I keep doing that until I get to the actual speed of the song, and then I work to 100% perfect.
Personally it has helped me not be complacent and I wanted to share for that reason and also to see if it's applicable to other disciplines.

am i just paranoid?
For Context: the family i babysit for are planning on selling their house so they’ve had a lot of open houses. Their office is a little alcove that you can only get to through the garage and it is pitch black even if the garage lights are on.
my ward: what if some guy just came into our house during one of the open houses and was just... living in the office? wouldn’t that be messed up?
me (who has seen The Open House (2018)): why... did you have to say that
