𓆌 The Eclidites

Hailing from the marshes of Nirvisi in Everance, the eclidites are a species of large crocodile-like humanoids skilled at navigating both land and water. Their terrain being unsuitable for Everance's other intelligent life means these swampland natives are often isolated from members outside their own species and spend most of their time interacting with other eclidites. Communication between eclidites and other species is fairly difficult, anyway, as the eclidites have a notoriously difficult-to-learn language that can vary wildly from clan to clan.

The featured eclidite in the picture is Zeikrinn'daan, a warrior-healer from the marshes whose clan often finds itself in war with their neighbors. Ze is well known for his prowess in battle as well as his efficiency when it comes to recovering and rehabilitating the wounded.

🐉 The Drakoura

Born from a curse that doomed dragons into a humanoid form, the drakoura have a rocky history as a species. From the oppressed in Adraveth to the Oppressors in Aerovul, this species has spent its fair share of time in the roles of both the abused and the abusers, and many aware of their pasts won't let them forget it. Still, they are one of Relarus's prouder species, and they take great joy in their remaining draconic features, spending hours grooming their tails and sharpening their horns and antlers in turn. Featured drakoura is Kaida Sholman, the leader and general in the civil war for the reterra's and drakoura's reedom in Adraveth, as well as the later founder and queen of Aerovul.

to Arden's South, Aerovul sits cold, silent, and divided, yet protected by The Great Silver Mist that shields and isolates them. The reterra, Relarus's reptile-folk, and the drakoura, descendants of dragons themselves, remain in conflict, teetering dangerously on the edge of second civil war. Amidst this rising tension, Rin and Viridis, an unlikely reterra and drakoura pair, must confront an even greater threat, one that may harm not only Aerovul, but the entire world. Unpredictable magic is now working to transform their protective mist into a consuming force, and unless they release its deadly prisoner, Relarus as they know it could never survive.

Petrichor, far north of Aerovul, is also burdened by fragile politics and volatile magic. The elite, a controversial superpowered police force, faces ethical scrutiny amidst chaos, and struggles to juggle the weight of it. With a false god rising, Kai and his team must protect their home from a recurring calamity, or face execution at the hands of a kingdom not even their own.

Across the seas, Everance battles a mysterious, centuries-old sickness, its origins tied to unstable magic. And without a navigator, Marin struggles to rebuild a town ravaged by this magic, all while a war-torn Kaydori struggles with its sudden absence.

Magic, once the glue of their lands, now threatens to tear them apart. They must reopen the spirit gates and uncover the foreboding secrets behind its closure, for here, ignorance is deadly, and the gullible are already dead.❞
