I had the same experience. We’ve had police come to our house because my dad had my brother, who has autism, pinned onto a cement floor and was threatening to punch him. I once went to school with toothpaste in my hair because my dad had gotten angry and squeezed it out on my hair. The teacher had to scrub it out with the sponge she used to clean the fishtank. I’ve had shoes, books, and a fucking mattress thrown at me by a man who is double my weight and a foot taller than me.Several of my teachers and psychologists have expressed concern, and there are lots of witnesses to his abuse, but it doesn’t fucking matter; we go into the hospital covered in fucking bruises, scared shitless of what will happen to us when we get home, and the organizations that are supposed to protect us don’t do shit. They tell us to go to family therapy or “learn coping mechanisms,” as if deep breathing is going to stop a kid from having the shit beaten out of them by their parent. CPS is corrupt, evil organization. They don’t give a shit about kids who are suffering. 

CPS Failed Me

When I was 14, I went to my school counselor to report that my dad grabbed my sister’s arm and dragged her down to the floor all because she said she would feed the cat when she was done eating. This wasn’t the first time…

CPS came to investigate. Me and my sister were interviewed and my sister revealed this happened before. We have also been mentaly and psychologically abused since I can remember. Not to mention he sits in the living room and openly watches porn and is very perverted.

We were ignored. They said they were “isolated incidents” and we have nothing to worry about. My claims were dismissed since I’m a diagnosed schizophrenic.

This isn’t the first time I was ignored. I was hospitalized twice by that point from suicide attempts and I was in therapy. When we had a family meeting in the hospital he showed his true colors, insulting me and telling me how I’m such an idiot and a burden.

CPS failed me and dear god I’ve been living with the consequences. My dad is still around since we don’t have enough money to leave so I sleep with a knife by my bed every night. I’m 19 and I get yelled at for trying to get a job (I just graduated high school). He doesn’t want me to leave since I’m the ass end of every joke and every outburst.

So thank you Pennsylvania Child Protection Services for ignoring us.
