BOSSMAN HERO returned a quivering sigh, before chuckling, then laughing maniacally, as CAT BUTLER turned to look at him. “Then why is it, the INSTANT I find out the Truth, you…” He points at OMORI, who furrowed his eyebrows. “…you trio try to take me back in.”

Tightening his tie, shaking his head. “THE HERO YOU REMEMBER? IS RIGHT. HERE.”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!

“Now, do us both a favor, and skedaddle again.”

AUBREY raised her mailbox, as OMORI raised his knife, and KEL dribbled his basketball, until…

A holy choir from above the group, as all five looked up. “Children, boss, and butler… This scuffle has gone long enough.” PERFECTHERO said, landing, turning to BOSSMAN. “Your business is required at LAST RESORT. As is yours.” He said, looking at CAT BUTLER.

OMORI slashed at PERFECTHERO’s back, before he raised a hand, and the cut on the back of his suit disappeared. Turning around. “You really don’t want to do that, children.”

AUBREY turned to swing her mailbox, before KEL stopped her. “WAIT!” OMORI and AUBREY turned to look at him, as KEL looked at BOSSMAN HERO, leaning past PERFECTHERO.

“…What… what did you see?”

His heart dropped. CAT BUTLER’s neck snapped to look at him, before putting a gloved paw on his shoulder.

“It really doesn’t matter, KEL… let’s go.”

PERFECTHERO nodded, and the trio took off themselves. OMORI’s group watched them disappear into the purple starlight, as OMORI stared with fury.

Before exhaling. They turned back to BASIL’s house. OMORI had to do this himself.

Everything felt frozen once OMORI entered BLACKSPACE. BOSSMAN HERO couldn’t move a muscle. Frozen in place, on his desk, unable to move, unable to look, he immediately started panicking.

SOMETHING leaked through the ceiling, floating above, and then her eye opened, staring at him. He could barely contain his fear, although he had no method to express it.

It morphed into a black and white MARI, who looked into him, setting a hand on his chest. Tightening his tie.

“Oh, HERO… Whatever did you do…”

“It’s okay… This isn’t really you, is it…?”

“That tie…”

“You should keep it. It suits you for how much you’ve grown.”

HERO began to calm down.

“OMORI won’t be coming back to HEADSPACE.”

And then he started panicking again.

“But… I know where he will be.”

“STRANGER told you, his heart wants to admit the truth.”

“To the other you, out there.”

“But he’ll have to face himself… and you.”

“It was silly to go to BLACKSPACE alone, HERO, you… you weren’t…”

She looked at CAT BUTLER, whose eyes were shut, interrupted from thinking about his misjudgements of OMORI.

She walked over to him, and pet his fuzzy head. “I know you never liked MEWO. She broke your old master’s rules. But you’re just like her… cute, inside.”

She nodded, stepping back, and returned to her SOMETHING form, turning to BOSSMAN.

Welcome to WHITE SPACE.

You’ve been here for as long as you can remember.

HERO opened his eyes, sitting up, and cricking his neck. CAT BUTLER was standing just outside. “Good afternoon, Master HERO.”

Looking up… in the white abyss, a dangling wire. Barren, with no light.

Across from him, was SUNNY and OMORI.

The dark lightbulb, shattered.

MEWO, missing.

Sketchbook, empty.

Laptop, nothing.

He got up, and treaded no man’s land. CAT BUTLER following suit.

You tell yourself you don’t want to burden others… But the truth is that you are selfish. You just don’t want people to depend on you.

HERO stopped, and CAT BUTLER stood by his side.

SUNNY raised his violin, striking a chord against OMORI, as he returns with a trio of slashes.

When do you think about others? How long are you going to let people take care of you?

SUNNY took a deep breath…

HONEST DEPTH: Deals heavy damage. Makes a FRIEND AFRAID, except for OMORI, instead making him ANGRY.

TWO WEEKS NOTICE: Deals light damage. Reduces DEFENSE and SPEED.

MOCK: Similar to OMORI’s MOCK. Makes FRIENDS ANGRY, but becomes less effective the ANGRIER a FRIEND becomes.

BOSSMAN HERO SKILLS:

GATOR AID: Calls upon a GATOR GUY, returning HEART and JUICE. 50% chance for one to attack as well, dealing light damage.

COOK: Returns HEART. Always go first, unless a FRIEND has an action that outspeeds him.

HOMEMADE JAM: Rises one of his FRIENDS. Heals for 25% HEART.

BLANK CHECK: Returns a FRIENDS JUICE, and pays a FRIEND 200-750 CLAMs.

ACT 2: CAT BUTLER

“…What?” HERO blinked a couple times at CAT BUTLER, before looking at MEWO. She blinked at him. CAT BUTLER analyzed the bossman across from him, before reaching into his coat, and pulling out a scalpel. “You are not Master OMORI, but, as you are here, you shall instead take his place in administering judgement.”

HERO scoffed. “Judgement, huh? I’d rather save that for ROBOHERO. I don’t like getting messy.” He took the scalpel anyway, pocketing it. It could come in handy, considering how volatile BLACKSPACE was.

CAT BUTLER sighed. “Abstaining from judgement is nothing but kicking a bucket down the road, mister.” “HERO. Please.” He extends a hand. CAT BUTLER looked at it, then at him. He looked deep into HERO, which unnerved him, but eventually, CAT BUTLER accepted his hand.

“HERO. It is nice to make your acquaintance.” “Same here.” “CAT BUTLER, is my name.” He drops the handshake. “I serve under Master OMORI, in his absence, I make enforcing his rule easier.” He looks at MEWO, his scowl growing. “Especially with the mistress here.”

MEWO looked at CAT BUTLER, tilting her head. Meow…? (What did I do…?) “Her escapade from WHITE SPACE… it could have dangered HEADSPACE’s flow. She knew the rule she would be breaking, HERO.”

He turned to look at MEWO. She doesn’t understand what’s happening. “…What if,” digging into his coat, pulling out a pen, and a check. Writing a few hundred thousand CLAMs, he tears it off, handing it to CAT BUTLER. “You instead worked for me? Full benefits. Ends your dead end contract with OMORI.”

CAT BUTLER hesitated, staring at the check. Were he to leave PUNISHMENT AREA… it would turn to nothing. But, if BOSSMAN HERO knew a way out… It would all be… so much easier to bare…

…He took the check, and gave him the key. A dark purple door faded into visibility. “Lead the way, Master HERO.”

Appearing back in BLACKSPACE, CAT BUTLER immediately had his paws to his head, wincing. HERO looked over, concerned, before CAT BUTLER fell to his knees, as HERO caught him.

A silent exchange, as CAT BUTLER slowly opened his eyes painfully, locking eyes with HERO, nodding. Easing him up, and arm around his shoulder, they treaded toward another door.

Key in,

fitting through.

…

And almost suddenly, after both of them yelp in pain after an image of SOMETHING’s eye seared into their mind… slowly opening their eyes… was the crossroads of the VAST FOREST.

HERO breathed a sigh of relief, wiping sweat, as CAT BUTLER slowly stood taller, retracting his arm. A mutual stretch and cracking of joints, they sigh, and look at each other.

“…This… is where you have come from, Master HERO?” BOSSMAN chuckled, before charming, and flashing a grin. “You know it, BUTLER. Welcome back.” They chuckle together, before BUTLER’s ear flicks, and turns to OMORI, stepping towards them.

“HERO! What are you doing here-“ KEL said, before looking at CAT BUTLER, who was growling. AUBREY walked in front, pulling out her MAILBOX. “Not this time, HERO! We’re going to get you back to our side in no time!” BOSSMAN winced.

“Well, if we’re going to fight,” BOSSMAN started, raising his fists, as CAT BUTLER extends his claws. OMORI raised his knife, cutting to his side, lowering to his side.

What will OMORI and friends do?

Most I have had, is MEWO, who, as you know... is under my jurisdiction, and Master OMORI.

ACT 1: BLACKSPACE

BOSSMAN HERO exited HUMPHREY, as he sank once more. Tightening up his tie, he had a deep sigh. Walking back out of DEEPER WELL, he waited by a PLUTO station. And eventually, PLUTO arrived. "Greetings, and welcome to PLUTO'S SPACELINE. Where will your journey take you today?"

"VAST FOREST. I have some business there." HERO responded. "You got it. Now... Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride." HERO climbed up onto his shoulder, as PLUTO took off.

On landing, HERO climbed down, and pulled out some CLAMs, before PLUTO raised his hand to stop him. "No need, BOSSMAN. Your work alone is payment. No journey deserves to be stopped for payment." HERO put his CLAMs back into his coat, before nodding. "Thank you for your work, then, PLUTO."

Turning to his left, as PLUTO took off again, he came eye to eye to STRANGER. Silently, STRANGER turned away, as BOSSMAN felt uneasy. Suddenly, he felt like getting the KEYs was a very, very bad idea, but he peristed.

Following after, passing by the watered plants, despite BASIL's absence, he came across BASIL's OLD SHOE. The lake of red, the hands of BLACKSPACE emitting from it. Even moreso, BOSSMAN felt more fear, if not, regret. But he walked inside.

The gigantic hole, down below...

He looked down. It looked endless.

"That place is not meant for you, HERO." HERO turned around, STRANGER standing at the exit. He passed through HERO, as HERO shuddered, panic beginning to grow. "If you do not control your FEAR... you will fall further into nothing, in this world below."

As HERO steadied, he looked back at STRANGER, who disappears into the hole.

With a deep breath...

The landing was rough. There was no MARI. There was no DOOR. Against the cold, dark, floor, all there was, was a white BASKET, sketchbook, and a key.

HERO picked up the key, and immediately felt a sharp pain in his head, as he fell to his knees. His mouth was open, his mind, swelling of anguish, he could not hear his own screams of agony.

Before he stopped, quivering, and stood back up. He has a mission to do. Find OMORI. Limping, pained, walking towards the first door, and sticking they key inside, he twisted to unlock, and opened. Walking through, he immediately felt easier.

Although the PAIN AREA was not any better, for his mind, treading through the AREA was an easier feat than dropping in. There were red footsteps, and, as HERO looked up, and locked eyes with STRANGER.

"These rooms... are full of broken things... but at least in here, I can see who you really are."

"You aren't the DREAMER, but... you are here, and you are walking, breathing."

"However you do it, MANIFESTED DREAM, you are more welcome than the DREAMER."

STRANGER turned away, and treaded into nothing. HERO followed the footsteps, and took the key at the end. It all hurt, but, he was beginning to understand, and get used to the suffering.

After all, BLACKSPACE wasn't HEADSPACE. How he was moving, and thinking, it was by will.

And then, a RED HAND grabbed his ankle, as he jumped.

...

He stood in the center again, a deep breath, as he prepared for another spike of pain. Yet, it did not come. There wasn't pain. It was still unusual, uneasy, but, his sharp agony was fading. He looked up. There was no HEADSPACE.

How was he going to get out?

...The more he thought, the more concerned he got, before chuckling. Walking to the next door, he put the key in, and walked through the open door.

...

The colorful aspects, similar to HEADSPACE, though, horribly distorted, hurt HERO's eyes, as he squinted.

STRANGER stood across from him.

"Lost in this confusion lies the root of everything."

"The DREAMER locked everything away... but in his heart, he seeks to find it again."

"If you were to find it for him... would it be the same?"

Again, turning away, and disappearing.

Following the red footprints, he stops beside a very blue cat.

"HI IM LOQUACIOUS CAT ASK ME ANYTHING"

He paused.

HERO thought. What would he want to ask this creature, left in BLACKSPACE? Does it have a thought?

"...Why did it hurt to come down here?"

"TWO YARDS OF LEATHER"

That wasn't even understandable, forget about helpful, or insightful. HERO turned back to the trail, and picked up the key. He looked into it, and suddenly, a RED HAND extended from it, grabbing his coat, as he yelped.

...

Saving no time for potential for pain, he went to the next door. Key in, and through he was.

...

There was no STRANGER here. Just red footprints, and a key. Saving no interruption, he treaded down and through it, picking up the key. With a deep breath, another RED HAND emerged from his mouth, pulling him back to the center.

Key in.

Through.

...

The scribbles of a town, of a world. HERO looked up and around, seeing gray clouds, before noticing the STRANGER across from him.

"When you hid the truth, you sealed a part of me with it."

"Hiding the truth... I can barely understand why the DREAMER would."

"This world, and the world above, horrendous to face, compared to the beautiful landscape, it was better not to lie to one's self."

STRANGER turned away, and disappeared.

Key in.

Through.

...

A dark grassland. SOMETHINGs all around, as HERO treaded lightly.

And then, a thought into his head. Liar.

What is this fear?

This fear of hiding the truth from himself, although, this was not his truth?

This isn't HERO's truth. This isn't my truth. This isn't...

Is this... OMORI's truth?

It all made sense.

He stopped across from SOMETHING, who looked down at HERO.

And then, HERO frowned. Solemnly, he looked down.

He knew he wasn't real, he knew...

...He felt a warm embrace.

Opening his eyes, a key in front of him, as a familiar voice was in his mind.

It's okay, HERO.

It wasn't your fault, nor BASIL's, nor SUNNY's...

It was an accident... and I love you for being strong enough to explore.

A kiss on his cheek.
