These gorgeous silver and titanium plugs are the creations of Ryan Holandes of  Meriken Metals.
Working with only reclaimed silver refined to 99.9% purity in the US, Meriken Metals proudly manufacture fine body jewellery, taking many design inspirations from the natural world.
Ranging from a simple landscape in their "Terrain" Flares (Top) to the infinitely complex patterns of the night sky in "Dense Starfield" (Middle Right) and "Andromeda," (Bottom) their collections combine simplicity and luxury in an unprecedented way.
Aside from their main website, Meriken Metals' tumblr is great for keeping up with new products, updates, and extra photographs.

If I had the option, I would gladly fill my house with these beautifully realistic skeletal details were hand-carved by artist Maskull Lasserre.
Although an entirely skeletal piece could have easily been created, the decision to limit the carving to certain parts of the piece creates interest through contrast between the everyday object and its anatomical addition. The impeccable placement of each carving also draws the attention of the viewer by accenting the shape and flow of each object.
While some of Lasserre's  pieces are purely decorative, I would absolutely love to see those skeletal coat hangers become available for sale.

In my pursuit of featuring beautiful body jewellery manufacturers on this blog, I seem to have completely missed one of my favorites.
Flaming Bones (tumblr) produces some of the best-looking pieces I have ever seen, ranging from their distinctive septum clickers and filigree-decorated plugs to their amazing hand-cast, tiny threaded ends that are just as detailed as their larger pieces. Working in a range of materials too long to fully list, their pieces include wood and horn, brass, steel, silver and gold, as well as many stone inlays.
Flaming Bones can be appreciated by all lovers of bodily decoration, and even those who are not heavily pierced will be happy to know that bracelets, necklaces, and earrings for non-stretched piercings can be found on their website.

These beautiful wood plugs are a welcome new addition to BodyArtForms' selection. Available in Curly Maple or Katalox wood, these plugs feature rose quarts or goldstone with bronze accents.
These plugs are some of the best I have seen in the inlay style, as the fine bronze swirls create a frame that draws closer attention to the stone. Although each pair has a great appearance, my favorites are the darker Katalox wood pair in the center. The dark-colored wood contrasts well with the quartz, creating the appearance of a stone mirror surrounded by a swirling metal rays.
Since each set is a one-off design. at only $59.95 a pair, they may not last long, so place your orders while you still can.

I have wanted to try a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte ever since they started advertising them, but my caffeine sensitivity combined with my hatred of the taste of coffee has made this almost impossible.
Luckily, I was able to find something similar in the world of tea in the form of David's Tea's Pumpkin Chai. This blend of black tea, cinnamon, cloves, lemon peel and squash, sweetened with caramel bits and pumpkin candies has proven to be the perfect alternative. The intense spices are perfectly balanced out by the squash, with the candy sweeteners making sugar almost unnecessary. Despite this being black tea, the caffeine content isn't very high, and while I wouldn't drink this before going to sleep, this tea is ideal for a morning burst of energy.

One of my first posts was a compilation of interesting septum jewellery I have found on etsy, and in my search for pieces to showcase, I ran into several by aprilsblissed.
After running into her tumblr today, I think that her jewellery deserves another mention. Working with gold and silver, her store is full of cute and elegant pieces which are made with each order.
Unfortunately for those with larger gauge piercings, most of her pieces are available in 20-18ga, with the option to upgrade the size of the gold jewellery to 16ga for an additional $30.
However, the cheaper prices of her gold work, in comparison with other manufacturers such as BVLA make her store perfect for gold-lovers on a budget.

I am really surprised to see that shredded shirts are apparently no longer in style, since they would fit in absolutely perfectly among the current trend of loose and layered clothing.
Although I give little attention to whether or not something is currently trendy before wearing it, sadly, my body type prevents me from wearing shredded clothing, leaving me on the sidelines to appreciate it on others from afar.

currants (by Artrian)
When I was living in Russia, my grandfather grew a huge variety of fruits, berries, vegetables and flowers on our Dacha, and one of my favorite berries were currants. Even if nothing else turned out right that year, we would always have buckets of both red and black currants to bring home for my grandmother's jellies and jams.
I have only seen currant jam for sale once since I moved to Canada, and I was very excited when I smelled the aroma of my childhood emanating from the tea cup of a woman who sat next to me on the bus.
She told me that she was drinking David's Tea's Currant Affair, and I knew that I had to try it.
The tea itself is a mix of rooibos, blackberry leaves, blackcurrant and artificial currant and cream flavoring, and features an incredibly strong and natural currant smell. Although I dislike fruit and berry teas, this one is perfect on its own or with just a small touch of sugar.
This tea is new to their stores and website, and with my feeling that it might be a seasonal item, I am planning on stocking up for the entire winter.

These photos from Trelise Cooper's collection shown at New Zealand Fashion Week are one of my favorite examples of piercings on the runway.
Although it would have been quite easy to take this look over the top into mall goth territory, the lighter coloured, messy hair, and almost nude eyes helped balance out the bold mouths and make the piercing jewellery look natural on the models' faces.
I think that when it comes to studs, its either go big or go home. Studding should be edgy, which exactly why I fell in love with the jacket in the last photo. The contrast between the sporty, Varsity-style piece and the intense spikes covering its body perfectly reflects the dark intensity of the model's make-up, and makes me seriously consider decorating my own jacket in a similar fashion.

Black and red have been my favorite colour combination for almost as long as I can remember.
However, I have admit that seeing countless t-shirts, hats, arm warmers, and other items of clothing in the generic bright red and black stripes marketed to mall goths has shaken my faith in those colours more than once.
Seeing these sweaters by Yigal Azrouel and Raf Simons is a pleasant reminder that the right shades, (such as the incredibly rich red of the first sweater) and an appropriate, minimal pattern can keep this often-misused combination still looking fresh and grown up.

These mannequins from Boris Bidjan Saberi's Autumn/Winter 2010 show completely stole my attention from the models.
Their rail-thin bodies combined with their creeping, looming postures were perfect at darkening the mood and were absolutely perfect for displaying this kind of clothing.

When I was around seven years old, my mother bought me a cat candle. I refused to burn it because I thought that doing so would destroy the "essence" of the cat that it contained, and often wondered why anyone would ever create something so beautiful just to be melted and ruined.
Although I no longer believe that cat candles are somehow connected to real cats, these Devil's Pet Candles by Thorunn Arnadottir appeal to me immensely as an adult.
This clever design takes advantage of the inherent transformation that occurs within a burning candle, leaving the viewer with a permanent souvenir once it is complete.
While I am uncertain that having one of these would have convinced me to burn it as a child, I am now looking forward to seeing these candles, (and perhaps ones featuring other animals) becoming available for sale.

One of the most important things about fashion as an art form is its ability to challenge the stereotypical visual constructs of gender through the expression of its fluidity.

One thing I like about tumblr as blogging platform is that sometimes finding new artists is as easy as scrolling through one's dashboard. This is precisely how I discovered Jessica of jmbdrawings.
Although these flower and butterfly and moth designs are much lighter imagery than most art featured on this blog, I enjoy seeing pointillism used for almost any subject matter. The clean, bold lines, dotwork shading and two-tone geometric patterns of her butterfly drawings make them ideal inspirations for tattoo design.
Prints of Jessica's work are available for sale at jmbdrawings.bigcartel.com.

As someone who is perpetually freezing cold throughout autumn, winter, and a good portion of the spring and sometimes summer, I have learned to become incredibly adapt at layering clothing.
However, despite their necessity, I have never really liked hoodies, making a few exceptions, such as for these sweaters from Juun J's A/W 2012 Lookbook.
The lack of zippers, kangaroo pockets, and the addition of a tight hood to an otherwise classic turtleneck sweater solves the issue of looking too casual, and the complete coverage of the neck looks like it would ensure the wearer's warmth.
As shown in the photos above, the thinner, knit material also makes these shirts great for layering with items like blazers, sweaters, and even dress shirts, opening up a huge variety of options to the wearer.
