Happy 1 Year, Cherry Blossoms!
It’s officially been a year since my first fic on Tumblr! What a wild ride it’s been.
I’ve reposted my first fic, and I saw that it has 144 likes on it. That’s insane! Thank you all so much for supporting me in the last year (even though I’ve been on hiatus for the last month due to college graduation/classes).
I’ve also noticed that I have 298 followers now, and that fact that all of your enjoy my content that much brings tears of happiness to my eyes. Thank you so so so much for everything.
Unfortunately I’ll still be on hiatus for a little while longer as I am graduating a week from Saturday (YAY!). Finals are coming up and I’ve got to sprint to the finish line now. I’ve worked so hard for the last 5 years on both of my degrees, and I’ve got to make sure I finish strong.
Thank you again for all of the support in the last year. I will be returning to my blog soon, I promise. There will be new one-shots, series, and hopefully new challenges popping up.
In the meantime, check out my other content in my masterlist tagged below. And keep it coming with some asks! My ask box is open and I’ll be getting back to that soon.
My second blog will have some content coming to it as well after my hiatus, so go follow @cherryblossomflowersstory
And to all my CherryBlossoms on my blog...
Tumblr media
See you all soon!

“Hey, Dad. I want to talk to you about something.”
Dean turns to the kitchen entrance and smiles at his daughter, “Sure, sweetheart. What’s on your mind?”
YN crosses the kitchen over to Dean and sits across from him at the table. As she sits, Dean notices her shaking frame and the nervous look in her eyes. YN keeps her head down, looking at the table and playing with her hands.
“YN, you okay?” asked Dean. YN looks up at Dean, but avoided his eyes.
Dean’s eyes are more sympathetic the more he worries about his daughter. “Sweetheart, you know you can tell me anything. I know there’s something bothering you. Just tell me, it’s okay.”
YN took a deep breath and sighed, “So, I’ve been in college for 3 years now right?” Dean nods as YN continues, “And you know how I’ve been a History major for those 3 years?” Dean nods slowly as he squints his eyes at his daughter. “Well, you see. It’s not that I don’t like History. No, that not what I mean. Um, okay sometimes people grow…no that’s not it. Look, Dad, I-”
The front door slams shut as footsteps could be heard coming near Dean and YN.
Just as YN looks up at Dean, Sam walks through the kitchen door with bags in his hands. “Hey, I’m back from the store. I thought I’d make dinner.” Sam notices YN and Dean staring at him. He smiles at YN, “Oh are you finally telling him you changed your major?”
YN gasped, wide eyed in panic as she turned back to Dean. Dean’s eyes were in shock, and he was obviously mad.
“You changed your major?!”
“Dad-”
“When did this happen?”
“Dad, listen-”
“Did you even think about talking to me about it?
"I talked to Sam the day I did-”
“Oh, so now Sam gets to know everything that happens in your life?!”
“Dad, please-”
“Stop it, both of you!” Sam yelled over YN and Dean. They looked at him, YN with fear and Dean with anger. “Dean for once in your life just shut up and listen to what she has to say. YN, I’m sorry I assumed you had already mentioned it.”
“It’s okay, Sammy. I was actually having trouble finding the words to say. I guess just being abrupt helps.”
“Speak for yourself,” Dean says as he stands from his seat and makes his way out of the kitchen.
YN looks up at Sam, tears forming in her eyes. Sam walks over and bends down to hug her. She hugs back and lets out a sob. “Shh, it’s okay. It’s okay. Relax, it’s not the end of the world. I know you know what that actually feels like.”
YN let out a small chuckle, “You’re right Sammy.”
Sam pushed her back to look in her eyes, “Go talk to him. Explain everything. Be calm, and if you need me just yell.” YN nodded, stood from her seat, and left the kitchen. ——————— YN walked up to Dean’s bedroom door. She raised her hand to knock, but hesitated for a moment. She sighed, speaking to herself, “You can do this. Sammy took the news better, but this is your dad. He can be understanding…sometimes. Just take a deep breath, and knock.” She did just that.
There was no noise from inside after she knocked. So she knocked again. Still nothing. She knocked a third time when the door swung open revealing a very pissed off Dean.
“What do you want now? Come to tell me you dropped out of college all together?”
“Dad, please. Just let me explain.”
Dean ignored his daughter and walked back into his room. YN walked inside, shutting the door behind her.
“Dad, there’s a reasonable explanation for this I promise.”
Dean sat on his bed, facing the wall, and crossed his arms, “Yeah, I bet.”
YN sighed again, feeling the tears coming back. She walked over to Dean’s bed and sat down next to him, “I’m sorry. You’re right, I should’ve told you as soon as the thought crossed my mind. But I was scared. I didn’t know what was going on. I thought I was going through a slump. Turns out, I just didn’t get to explore as much as I thought in college.”
Dean closed his eyes, “I’m not mad at you, YN.”
“What?”
Dean turned to YN and sighed, “I’m not mad. I’m just…I don’t know, I guess I just feel left out. I know you and Sam are close, especially because he can help you with college stuff. He went to college, I didn’t. I have know idea what either of you are talking about half the time. I guess I…I just don’t want to miss anything in your life. You’re my daughter, my only daughter. I want to know about the big decisions in your life.”
Tears fell from YN’s eyes, “Dad, I had no idea you felt like that. Why didn’t you tell me?”
Dean chuckled, “I should be asking you that, kiddo.”
“Well, I didn’t change majors exactly. I just added one, so I’m a double major now. I’m almost finished with one degree, but I found a passion for something different, so I just added it.”
“Yeah, you lost me after ‘Well’.”
YN giggled, “Okay, I’ve been a History major for 3 years, yeah?” Dean nods as she continues, “But 2 months ago, I found something I love so much more. So I decided to try it for myself, and I fell in love with it. Yeah, I like History but I don’t think it’s my calling. I’m not changing to something completely different, I’m just adding something new.”
“Oh, okay. That makes sense. I think,” Dean looked towards the wall again, “So does this mean you won’t graduate next year?”
YN shook her head, “No, I’ll graduate the year after. I’m only set back one year. And now I’m getting scholarships for both majors instead of the one, so now I don’t need to take out anymore loans.”
“I’m okay with that.” Dean smiled at his daughter. “I’m sorry for getting mad.”
“I’m sorry for not discussing it with you before just jumping to it. I promise, next time a big decision like this happens, you’ll be the first to know.”
Dean leaned over and hugged YN, and she hugged him back. “I love you, YN”
“I love you, too, Dad.”
Dean pulled back to look at his daughter, “So, what major did you add anyway?” “Drama. I really think I want to be a costume designer.”
Dean sighed and shook his head, “Wow, that was so not what I expected to come out of your mouth. Maybe you can make Sam and I a few disguises.”
“It would be my pleasure. You two can finally look like proper FBI agents, instead of just two weirdos in suits.”
“Hey now, I rock that suit and you know it.”
YN rolled her eyes, “Mhmm, totally, you old fart.”
“Excuse me, young lady? Does somebody need a visit from the Tickle Monster?” Dean had a grin on his face as his raised his arms towards YN. “Don’t think I forgot you’re still ticklish.”
YN’s eyes were wide in fear, “You wouldn’t dare.”
Dean laughed, “Oh, I totally would dare.”

As he pulled into his driveway, Jensen looked down at the clock on his radio, "Okay, she should be here in about an hour. That's plenty of time to get everything set up."
Today was YN's birthday and Jensen was determined to make it an unforgettable one. After all, the two have been dating for 3 years now.
And Jensen believed it was time to take that next step.
Early that morning, he called a local flower shop to deliver a bouquet of roses to YN's office as a surprise for her birthday. Then he made a plan and got ready for the day.
His first stop was the jewelry store in town. It took some time to find the perfect diamond, but after 3 hours of careful looking, he had found it.
He didn't even flinch at the price when he swiped his credit card, especially since YN's happiness was worth more to him than any amount of money he ever had.
His next stop was the floral shop that he had the roses delivered from. He decided to buy a couple more bouquets of roses and use the petals as a romantic decoration around the house.
Finally he popped into the grocery store to pick up ingredients for YN's favorite meal: chicken parmesan. He also grabbed a chocolate cake mix, frosting, and candles, deciding that a semi-homemade birthday cake was better than having someone else make it in a bakery.
After he purchased everything, Jensen climbed back in his truck and drove to his house. He pulled into the driveway, checked the time, and got to work.
Jensen managed to get everything inside, including the ring, and into the kitchen before setting up a plan of action, "First things first: I need to get that cake made so it has time to cool. Then I need to get everything decorated. I should probably get dinner at least put together while the cake bakes."
In his entire life, Jensen had never been this nervous. He wanted YN's special day to be memorable, but he also needed this proposal to be perfect. She was the love of his life and he wanted her to always be happy.
So everything had to go right and be perfect.
After a half hour of mixing ingredients, Jensen popped the cake in the oven and got to work preparing dinner. Since he's made chicken parmesan several times over the years, mainly at YN's request, it was second nature to him.
He set the dish aside and started decorating the living room and kitchen for YN's birthday. He put one bouquet of roses in a vase and set them on the counter, then he set the table for himself and YN.
A little while later, the timer for the cake went off and he pulled the pans out of the oven. He set them on the cooling rack and slipped the chicken parmesan into the oven.
As he was cleaning up the kitchen, his phone started to ring on the counter. He picked it up and saw the picture from his and YN's first date at the water park.
He smiled as he answered, "Why hello, birthday girl."
Her giggle on the other end made his heart skip a beat, "Hello, love. Guess who got off work a half hour early?"
Jensen pulled back his phone and noticed the time, "O-oh, wow that’s...great," he had to think of something to keep her busy a bit longer, "Um, hey why don't you stop by the store a grab a bottle of wine? I spaced getting it when I was at the store earlier."
"But don't you have like rows and rows of wine in your house?"
"Y-yeah, I do. But I want you to have your favorite and we drank the last of it a week ago."
"Oh, uh, okay then. Sure, I'll stop by the store. Is there anything else I could grab?"
"Nope, that should be it. I'll see you in a bit my love," Jensen sighed in relief.
"I love you, Jay."
"Love you, too," he hung up and set his phone back on the counter, "Great, that bought me some time, but not a lot."
After grabbing the ring box from the kitchen counter, he jogged into the bedroom and swung open his closet. He looked around until he spotted the royal blue dress shirt that happened to be YN's favorite on him. He also grabbed his black slacks and dress shoes to match.
He set the ring on the nightstand by his side of the bed and changed rather quickly before walking into the bathroom to fix his hair, spray some cologne, and make sure he looked as handsome as the first time YN fell in love with him.
He took a long look at himself in the mirror and sighed, "You're all right. You can do this. You're Jensen Ross Ackles. Just a simple question: will you marry me? It's not that difficult. Just take a deep breath and relax."
He walked out of the bedroom and back towards the kitchen. As he stepped into the kitchen, he heard YN's car pulling into the driveway and he panicked.
"Shit!" he whispered, "Nothing’s ready. What do I do?"
He had to think quick on his feet, so he bolted out the front door and over to YN's car. He yanked open her driver door, which startled her.
"Jeez, Jay. Are you trying to scare me to death?" YN sighed.
"N-no, sorry. I...um..." he trailed off, trying to figure out what to say.
YN stepped out of the car and shook the bottle in her hand, "I got the wine."
"Oh, right," Jensen nodded, "I'm sorry I scared you."
"It's okay, love," she kissed his cheek, "Let's go inside and chill. I had a long day and I just want to have a nice relaxing evening with my love," she started walking towards the house.
Jensen panicked, "YN, wait!"
"What for?" she turned to him, "Awe, are you wearing that shirt because it's my birthday? Or just because it's my favorite?"
"Both, I guess," he walked up to her, "But you can't go inside."
YN rolled her eyes and smiled, "Why not?"
"Because...because..." Jensen stood behind her and covered her eyes, "It's a surprise! No peeking, okay?"
"Okay," she chuckled, "You know I'm not one for surprises, Jay."
"I know, but...trust me," he breathed, "This is a good surprise."
He kept his hands covering YN's eyes as they walked into his house. He guided her away from the kitchen and living room and towards his bedroom. He kicked the door closed behind himself, took his hands off YN's eyes, and spun her around to look at him.
"Whoa, okay. Now that I can see, what do you have up your sleeve, Jensen?" YN asked.
"Whatever do you mean, my love?" Jensen smiled, "Now, why don't you get out of your work clothes and take a long, hot bath?"
YN sighed, "That does sound nice."
"And while you do so, I'll get dinner ready."
"What's for dinner?"
"Your favorite."
YN smiled, "You're the best."
Jensen turned her around and walked her towards the bathroom, "I'll take that title for sure, but since it's your special day, I think you should take it back. All I've done is put chicken and sauce in a pan. You, m'lady," he kissed her cheek, "do more for me everyday just by breathing."
YN sighed in content, "You're going to be the death of me, Ackles."
"I love you, too," he smiled, "Now, go take a bath and meet me in the kitchen when you're done. Take as long as you need."
YN nodded as she walked into the bathroom and shut the door behind herself. Jensen let out a long sigh of relief as he walked out of the bedroom and back to the kitchen.
The cake had to be cool enough to ice by now, so he took them out of the pans and layered them on a plate. He grabbed the frosting and a spatula, and got to work on the cake. It wasn't the prettiest thing in the world, but Jensen made it himself.
He added the candles to the top then stood back to look at his handy work, "Not bad, Ackles. Not bad at all."
After setting the cake on the counter next to the vase of roses, he walked over to the dining table, picked up the last bouquet, and started pulling off the flower petals. He scattered them around the dining table then started walking back towards the bedroom while scattering more petals as a path.
When he reached the bedroom, he could hear YN's music coming from the bathroom. He smiled as he thought of how the rest of the night was going to go.
First, she'd walk out of the bathroom, her towel around her body and hair, and relaxed from her long soak. Then she'd get dressed and notice the rose petals around her feet. She'd walk out of the bedroom, down the hallway, and towards the kitchen. She'd see dinner on the table, her birthday cake, and more roses waiting for her.
And Jensen would be there, knelt down on one knee with the ring in his hand. He'd pop the question, she'd say yes (hopefully), and they'd live happily ever after.
It was perfect. Well, hopefully it would be that perfect.
Suddenly, a beeping could be heard coming from the kitchen and Jensen could smell smoke. He went into a panic as he ran out of the bedroom and towards the kitchen.
He abruptly came to a halt when he saw black smoke pouring out of the oven, "Shit! I forgot to set a timer for dinner!"
He ran into the kitchen and pulled the oven open, causing more smoke to pour out of it. He blindly reached around for something to douse the small fire and rolling black smoke.
Unfortunately that thing happened to be the vase of roses. He grabbed it and tossed it on to the flame, which ruined the flowers but extinguished the fire.
When he realized what he had done, he felt himself panic more, "Oh, no. No, no, no. This is bad. The flowers...dinner...they're both ruined."
He took a few steps back from the oven, trying to figure out a quick plan to fix this. When he moved backwards, he ended up bumping into the cake and knocking it to the ground.
He whipped around and gasped at the sight, "No! Not the cake too! What am I going to do now?!"
Just then, he heard the bedroom door squeak open and footsteps approaching the kitchen.
"Hey, uh, Jay?" YN's voice echoed in his head, "Do you, um, do you want to tell me what this is that was sitting by your side of the bed? And why there are rose petals all over the floor?"
She walked down the hallway towards the kitchen, but paused when she saw the devastating sight in front of her.
There was Jensen on his hands and knees trying to somehow salvage the cake that had dropped. YN took a few steps towards him before he looked up at her with tears in his eyes.
She gasped when she saw his face, "Jensen? Honey, what happened?"
Jensen wiped his eyes, "I-I messed everything up. The chicken parmesan is burnt to a crisp, the flowers went up in flames, a-and I knocked over the cake," then he noticed the box in her hand, "Oh, no. Y-you didn't...open that did you?"
"No, not yet," YN shook her head, "I assumed it was a birthday gift that you wanted me to open with you."
He sighed, "Well, the entire night is ruined anyway. You might as well open it."
She glanced down at the box then back at Jensen, "Honey, the night isn't ruined. So dinner got a little burnt and the cake is on the ground and the flowers are toast. So what?" she knelt down next to him, "It doesn't matter."
He blinked up at her, "But your birthday-"
"Is just another day, love," she interrupted him, "You could've just popped in a movie, ordered a pizza, and we could have cuddled up on the couch. Just the fact that you tried to hard to make it perfect let's me know how much you really care about me. I love you so much."
Jensen smiled, "I love you, too, YN. And I'm sorry about all of this."
"Don't worry about it," she kissed him, "How about I help you clean up all of this then we'll watch a movie, drink some wine and relax?"
"I like that idea," he nodded, "I'll handle the cake if you want to try and get the pan of food out of the oven."
YN and Jensen stood from the floor and got to work. After YN placed the ring box on the counter, she walked over to the oven, grabbed potholders, and pulled out the dish. She placed it in the sink and started running water on it to cool it down enough to clean it.
Meanwhile, Jensen pulled the trashcan over to start cleaning the cake off the floor. He grabbed cake by the handful and tossed them in the trashcan.
It took roughly a half hour or more to clean up the mess in the kitchen. Jensen and YN had to change their clothes once they finished as Jensen was covered in cake frosting and sweat while YN was covered in burnt chicken parm and soapy water.
Once back in the living room, YN collapsed on the couch with a heavy sigh, "I could use a glass of wine."
Jensen chuckled, "I think I can handle that."
"You sure?" YN asked.
"Hardy har har," he rolled his eyes as he walked into the kitchen, "That was so funny."
He poured two glasses of wine and moved to walk out of the kitchen when the ring box caught his eye. He had completely forgotten about proposing to her after everything had happened.
Jensen grabbed the box and took a breath, "It's now or never."
He walked back into the living room and handed a glass of wine to YN. She took it from him and immediately took a satisfying sip.
"Wow, who knew wine was the key to your happiness," he chuckled as he sat next to her and put his glass on the table.
"Well, not exactly. Just a long day," she sighed and took another sip.
Jensen took a breath and held out the box, "YN, um-"
"Oh, my birthday present," she set the wine glass on the table.
"Sort of," he smirked, "Look, I know that I'm not a perfect guy. I know that I mess up from time to time, and it's mainly from my nerves. Things like tonight, I know it won't be the last time they happen. But out of all the things I know, there is one that tops them all: I know for a fact that I love you and that you love me back."
YN felt tears welling up in her eyes, "Oh, Jay."
"I've done a lot of thinking lately. And I've come to 3 conclusions: 1) I am a huge dork who's dating the most beautiful and amazing woman on the planet. 2) That amazing woman has had me wrapped around her finger from the first moment we locked eyes. And 3) The finger needs a little something more to make it official," Jensen opened the box to reveal the ring.
YN gasped, "Jensen..."
He smiled at her with tears in his eyes, "I love you, YN YLN. Would you do me the incredible honor of becoming Mrs. YN Ackles?"
"Oh my gosh, Jensen. Y-you're being serious, right? This isn't some prank o-or some cruel joke, right?" she was shaking from shock.
"No, baby. This is real. This is 100% real," he took her hand, "So, what do you say?"
YN chuckled, "What do I say? What do you mean 'what do I say'?" she leaned forward and kissed him, "Yes, Jensen, of course I'll marry you."
"Really? Yes?!" Jensen smiled his mega watt smile as he took the ring out and slide it on her finger.
YN took a long look at the ring, "This is gorgeous, honey."
"I couldn't find the exact one that you wanted, but I hope you'll love it just the same," he kissed her hand.
"It's perfect," she reached for her wine glass, "To my handsome fiance. He has his quirks, but he always keeps a smile on my face."
Jensen lifted his own glass, "And to the birthday girl, my gorgeous fiance. There's not a single flaw about her, well maybe except her small phone addiction-"
"Hey, now," YN interrupted him, "I am the owner of a company. I kind of have to be on my phone from time to time."
"But regardless of that," Jensen chuckled, "she's always there for me no matter how clumsy I get."
"To us," YN clinked her glass against Jensen's.
"To the future Mr. and Mrs. Ackles," Jensen nodded.

Jensen took a deep breath and let out a long sigh as he leaned back in his seat. He had just pulled into his apartment complex in Toronto and it was just after 2:00am.
He'd been on the set of The Boys since 8:00am, filming scenes for the upcoming season. They had him working all 18 hours, minus the one hour for lunch and the quick 30 minute nap he took in his trailer.
Needless to say he was exhausted. And starving.
He ran a hand down his face as he yawned and stretched in his seat. He could almost sleep right where he was at, but his bed was calling his name.
Luckily he could sleep all day tomorrow since he had a couple days. His plan was to fly home to Texas and see his girlfriend, YN. She mentioned how she had a big day planned for his birthday, but obviously wouldn't tell him anything about it.
If he was being honest with himself, however, he'd much rather just sleep his birthday away. To him, 43 wasn't that big of a deal anyway.
He could lie to YN and just tell her he missed a flight or that he was sick, but that would just make her worry. He could tell her the truth and she'd probably understand, but then again she could be upset that all of her plans went to waste.
Jensen yawned again as he pushed open his car door and stepped outside into the cool air. He shut the door behind himself, locked up the car with a push of a button, and stumbled up the stairs to his apartment.
As he got to the front door, he noticed a faint light coming from his front room window. He slowed his step as he looked around the area, wondering if his apartment was being broken into or if he simply left the lights on when he left this morning.
Either way, he was skeptical as he put the key in the door and unlocked it with a twist. Almost in slow motion, he pushed it open and took a step inside.
"Surprise!"
Jensen whipped his head towards his kitchen when he heard a feminine voice. He stood in the doorway in shock when he saw who it was.
"YN?" he whispered.
She stood in his kitchen wearing her fitted black dress and matching black heels, her hair was curled and falling over her shoulders, and her red lipstick and smokey eyeshadow tied everything together.
Needless to say, Jensen was shocked but also pleased at the sight of his girlfriend.
YN picked up two glasses of wine as she walked out of the kitchen and over to him, "Happy Birthday, Jay."
Jensen took a glass from her hand, "What are you doing here? I thought I was flying to Texas, not you flying to Canada."
"Well, I got a call from Jared earlier today," YN took his hand and guided him to the living room, "He said you texted him and mentioned it was going to be a long day of shooting. So I decided then and there that I'd come spend your birthday up here with you that way you can get as much rest as you need."
Jensen sat on the couch, "Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"
YN chuckled, "You clearly don't understand the word 'surprise', do you?"
"How did you get in here?"
"You keep your spare key in the light box outside."
"What about the dogs back home?"
"Jared said he'd watch them for a few days."
"And what about your job? Won't they need you at the office?"
YN laid her finger on Jensen's lips, "Shh, honey. Don't worry about it. Just relax and have some wine," she held up her glass, "To the birthday boy."
Jensen scoffed a laugh as he brought his glass to YN's, "And to the best girlfriend he could ever ask for."
The two leaned closer to each other as their eyes closed and their lips parted. Jensen nearly missed, his lips a tad too far left and his nose bumping against hers.
YN's giggle brought a smile to Jensen's face, though he was a bit embarrassed. She pulled back a bit and looked at his eyes.
"You really are tired. You've even forgotten how to kiss me," she whispered.
Jensen shook his head, "No, no. I'm fine. Let's go again."
He could hear the crinkling of her smile as she maneuvered her mouth into position, tilting her head so that their lips could meet firmly and happily at last. As he pulled back sheepishly she nibbled on the tip of his nose, then kissed it, and his eyes opened to see hers shining bright.
"I missed you, YN," Jensen smiled.
YN felt a blush cover her cheeks, "I missed you, too, love," she gestured to the kitchen, "I assumed with how busy you were, you didn't get dinner. I made lasagna from scratch if you want some."
Jensen's stomach growled at the mention of food, "Yes, please."
YN stood from the couch and walked over to the kitchen. Jensen quickly followed her, downing the rest of his wine glass as he walked.
She got two servings of the lasagna and brought them to the dining table while Jensen grabbed the bottle of wine. He sat down across from his girlfriend, filled both of their glasses, then immediately dug into his food.
YN's laugh filled the room, "Damn, Jay. I didn't realize you were that hungry."
He walked halfway done when he looked up at her, "Sorry. I forgot how much I missed your cooking."
She rolled her eyes, "Just because I can cook doesn't mean I'll always be able to do it. But I know this is your favorite."
Jensen put the last bite in his mouth then gestured to YN's untouched plate, "Aren't you going to eat?"
YN swapped her plate with Jensen's empty plate, "Knock yourself out."
Just as fast as before, Jensen finished the second piece of lasagna in a matter of seconds. He stared at the plate as if contemplating asking for a third piece.
"Let's let that settle first. I don't need to getting sick from overeating or eating too quickly," YN commented.
Jensen nodded, "You're right."
"Besides," YN said as she stood from the table and walked back into the kitchen, "Then you wouldn't have any room for dessert."
Jensen's eyes went wide, "Don't tell me you also baked."
YN rested a hand on her hip, "Well I did need to occupy my time while you were on set now didn't I?"
"What is it?" Jensen said as he stood from the table and walked into the kitchen.
"What kind of dessert do you have on a birthday, Jensen?" YN said sarcastically.
She lifted the silver dome off of a platter to reveal a three layer cake. It had white frosting covering it with blue frosting around the edges. On the center, the frosting spelled out Happy Jensen Day in blue frosting with rainbow sprinkles.
Jensen wrapped his arms around his girlfriend, "Oh, wow, honey. You didn't have to do all of this. A simple box cake with canned frosting would've been fine."
"Nothing's too good for my love," YN stood on her toes to kiss his cheek," Happy birthday, Jay."
"Thank you, YN," he kissed her forehead.
YN reached over for the box of candles and opened it. She then placed all the candles around the cake and grabbed the lighter on the counter. After lighting the candles, she moved the cake closer to Jensen.
"Do you want me to sing?" she asked.
Jensen stifled a laugh, "No, I'm good. I had to listen to the crew sing at midnight. Kind of ruined the song for me after that.
YN chuckled, "Fair enough. Make a wish, love."
He turned to YN, "But I have everything I could want. My girlfriend is here with me, she made my favorite meal and had my favorite wine with it, and not to mentioned the fact that she totally surprised me today."
"So there's nothing you want to wish for?" YN asked as she laid a hand on his.
Jensen thought for a moment before closing his eyes and blowing out the candles. Afterwards he turned to YN and kissed her quickly on the lips.
YN turned towards the cabinet for a couple plates for cake, "What did you wish for?"
Jensen leaned on the counter, "Now if I told you it wouldn't come true."
"I guess that's fair," YN said while handing him the plates, "I figured we could eat a slice tonight then go to bed. I don't know about you, but after today I am absolutely exhausted."
Jensen smiled and scoffed, "You're exhausted?"
"Well, I did drop everything in Austin to fly up here. The flight was so long, then I had to run to the store and pick up everything, then I cleaned your apartment while cooking and baking, plus you know all of this," she gestured to her outfit, "took at least two hours to do."
"Well, I did film for 18 hours straight. I'm exhausted, too," Jensen crossed his arms.
"Oh, but you looking good for a camera is nothing new. You're already good at it," YN waved him off, "But all of this was to make you happy. Which I easily accomplished."
Jensen wrapped his arms around her, "Yes you did. And it was the best birthday surprise anyone could ask for. You're the best."
"I would think you take that title, Mr. Ackles," YN booped his nose, "I'd like to think I have the title of Greatest Girlfriend of All Time."
Jensen laughed, "Most definitely," he laid his forehead on her, "Do you really want a slice of cake or shall we take the bottle of wine to my room and relax a bit?"
YN glanced at the cake, "Or we could do both?"
"I like that idea," he smiled at her.

Cherry Blossom One-Shot Masterlist
It was a very late Friday night when Jensen parked in YN's driveway. She had gotten home only an hour ago with her boyfriend, and Jensen wanted to make sure she was all right.
After all, he was her best friend.
The two have been very close friends since since Supernatural started filming. YN was the newest makeup artist on the set when the series began. She and Jensen grew very close while working on and off set.
During filming days, YN was off the set ready to run on and fix someone's makeup. Normally it was Jensen, who kept touching his face during the scene. But she was always there with him.
They had late night movies in Jensen's apartment, complete with pillow forts and slumber parties. There were a few times when he would go to her apartment on their days off and just hang out.
Now that Supernatural had concluded, YN and Jensen moved their friendship back to Austin. She had a house roughly a half hour from Jensen's and they'd try to hang out as much as they could.
The two were inseparable, the best of friends. The 15 year long friendship had its ups and downs, but neither of them would change anything for the world.
Well, except Jensen.
Jensen had fallen in love with YN from the moment he first walked into the makeup trailer. In his eyes, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, inside and out.
She was perfect to him with the way she'd sing off key, dancing around when she thought she was alone, her love of books and music, her love of writing and creating, and most of all the way she was just down to Earth.
But he'd never have the guts to tell her that.
He might play a bold, strong, and independent hunter on TV, but in the real world, Jensen was one of the most shy people anyone would know. He avoids crowds, he would rather have someone make phone calls or talk to people for him, and he could never tell anyone how he truly felt.
Especially YN.
But as her best friend, he had always been protective of her. He disapproved of almost any guy that came close to her. He would always see a flaw in them instantly and once he told YN, she could see it as well and break up with them.
After the last relationship she was in, YN had begged Jensen to leave her relationships alone from then on and let her find love by herself. He couldn't say no to her, so he agreed to stay out of it.
Or at least watch from further away.
Which is the reason why he was currently parked in her driveway and watching her through her living room window. He wasn't stalking her or trying to be creepy. He just wanted to make sure she was safe and no one would hurt her.
Jensen pulled out his phone to check the time, "Past midnight and he's still here? He normally leaves way before that," he looked back up at the window, "What are you up to?"
He watched as YN and her boyfriend came into view in her living room. They sat down on the couch and her boyfriend wrapped his arm on her shoulders. She moved closer to him and laid on his chest.
Jensen made a face, "He better not be thinking what I think he's thinking."
Just then, YN's boyfriend lifted her chin to make her look at him. He bent down slowly to kiss her, but at the last minute, YN pulled away.
"Good, don't let him kiss you, YN," Jensen smiled.
She stood from the couch and walked towards the window with her arms crossed. The boyfriend followed her to the window and wrapped his arms around her. YN pushed his arms off of her once more.
Jensen could see her lips moving, but obviously couldn't tell what she was saying, "I hope she's okay. Maybe I should...no, I can't. I promised her."
But that promise flew out the window when he watched YN's boyfriend grab her shoulders and spin her around. Jensen instantly saw red as he pushed his car door open and slammed it behind him before sprinting up to the house.
He jumped up on the porch and pounded on the door, "YN?! YN, open the door!"
Suddenly the door swung open and YN stood in the doorway with an annoyed and pissed off look on her face.
"What in the world is wrong with you, Ackles?!" she screamed at him.
He was shocked at her yelling, "N-nothing. I just had to make sure you were okay. I...um..."
"You what?" she snapped.
"Is everything all right?" her boyfriend walked up behind her.
YN turned to him, "Yes, everything's fine. This is my best friend, Jensen. Jensen, this is Elliot, my boyfriend."
Elliot stuck out his hand to Jensen, "Any good friend of YN's is a friend of mine."
Jensen shook his hand and looked back down at YN, "Can we talk for a minute, YN?" he looked at Elliot, "Alone?"
Elliot chuckled nervously, "Hey, it's cool. I should get going anyway. It's pretty late."
"Elliot, it's okay. This won't take long," YN spoke softly.
"No no, it's fine. You two have fun, I'll see you later," Elliot walked past YN and out the door, "Nice meeting you, Jensen," he called out as he walked off the porch.
"You as well," Jensen nodded to him.
YN crossed her arms and stared Jensen down, "This better be good, Jay."
"Can I come in?" he asked.
She rolled her eyes and stepped back so he could walk inside, "I suppose."
Jensen walked into YN's house and stood in the entry, "Thanks."
YN shut the door behind him, "Now, are you going to tell me why you were banging on my door like a lunatic?"
He took a deep breath, "Listen, I know you're going to be mad-"
"Well that's not the best way to start this out," she interrupted him.
"And you told me not to get involved in your love life-"
"Get to the point, Jensen."
He closed his eyes and sighed, "I-I was watching you two from your driveway and I saw him put his hands on you."
"You what?!" YN exclaimed.
Jensen rubbed the back of his neck, "I thought he was hurting you, YN! I got worried. And when you wouldn't let him kiss you..."
"Jensen, we talked about this," she said in annoyance, "You promised me you wouldn't get involved anymore."
"I know I did. I just...I feel like I have to protect you," he said quietly.
YN stepped towards him, "Why do you feel that way?"
He shrugged, "I've felt like that for years, YN."
"But why?"
"I don't know."
"Well, you're going to have to get over that feeling, Jay," she turned her back to him, "And with Elliot, I wouldn't let him kiss me because his breathe smelled like garlic from our dinner tonight."
Jensen had to hold back his laughter, "Wow, what an ass. Did he not chew gum or something afterwards?"
YN rolled her eyes, "No, he didn't. I didn't even know we were going to hang out for as long as we did tonight. But when he was trying to come near me, his breath was just so bad that I had to walk away from him."
"What about when he put his hands on you and made you face him?"
"He was trying to figure out why I didn't want to kiss him. He thought he did something wrong and he wanted to know what. He wasn't going to hurt me, Jay."
"B-but...but..."
"But what, Jensen?" YN faced him again, "What? Because nothing you say will change the fact that I love Elliot. And he loves me back."
Jensen was speechless. He felt like all the air in his lungs was pulled out. He didn't know what to say to her in that moment.
Truthfully, he wanted to tell her about his feelings, but he was too shy to do so.
"You...you love him?" he asked.
YN nodded, "Yes I do," she paused a moment, "Why?"
Jensen shook his head, "N-nothing. Um, I should...I should go."
"Jensen? Is everything okay?" YN asked.
He walked towards the front door and put his hand on the doorknob, "I guess I should've said something sooner," he mumbled to himself.
YN stepped toward him, "Jay?"
He didn't know where the courage came from or why his confidence suddenly had a boost, but later on in his life he'd be grateful for it.
"YN, you'll never know how I truly feel about you unless I just say it," he kept his back to her, "I love you. I'm in love with you. From the moment I first walked into that makeup trailer, I knew one day I had to make you mine. I knew I had fallen for you."
"J-Jensen-"
"Let me finish," he interrupted her, "You have the most beautiful smile in the entire world. Your energy and your presence lights up a room. Hearing your laugh is like hearing a choir of angels. You love having fun and creating new things, but you also love your down time when you can just sit by a fire and read for hours and hours," he paused a moment, "But the best thing about you is how much you care for other people. It doesn't matter if it's someone you've known your entire life or someone you just met on the street. You want what's best for them even if that means sacrificing something of your own to help."
YN felt tears welling up in her eyes, "Oh, Jay..."
"And that guy, Elliot?" he turned to face her, "He's no good for you, YN. I can see right through him. He doesn't love you. He loves the idea of you and him in your bed. If I didn't knock on your door tonight, that's exactly where you would've ended up," he paused, "And I don't know if you truly love him or not. But I know this: He is your first love, I intend to be your last. However long it takes."
Jensen let go of the doorknob and walked over to YN. He wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly. She sobbed into his chest as he hugged her.
"Oh, YN, don't cry. Please don't cry. Pretty girls shouldn't cry," he spoke softly to her, "I didn't mean to make you upset. I just...I needed to tell you how I felt."
YN pulled back from the hug, "I'm crying because I feel like I should've known. We've been in each others lives for 15 years. You think my eyes would've been opened by now."
"Shh, YN. It's okay," he smiled through his own tears, "You couldn't have known. No one could've. I was just too shy to tell you."
YN wrapped her arms around Jensen's neck, "I'm sorry, Jay."
"What for?" he pondered.
She chuckled, "Because if I would've just taken the leap, I could've saved us a lot of time."
"W-what?"
"I love you, too, Jensen. I've loved you for years. But I just thought you wanted to be friends so I tried moving on. I tried to date and find other guys, but none of them could ever be half the man that you are. You're so special to me. You're the best part of my life. Without you, I probably wouldn't be who I am today."
Jensen thought for a moment, "YN, I...I, uh..."
"Shh, Jay," YN laid a finger on his lips, "Let me take it from here."
She leaned forward and closed the gap between hers and Jensen's lips. Her lips brushed his, softly, delicately, like butterfly wings, just long enough that he could inhale her breath, feel the warmth of her skin, and the taste of her lipstick lingered. He was gentle with her as he laid his hand on the back of her head and brought her closer to him
The kiss was like fireworks, so passionate and loving. Time stood still in that moment.
YN kissed him like she wanted to be kissed, like no boy had ever kissed her: soft and moist and hot and breathy, not trying to win a battle but seeking union and closeness and the sharing of one breath, one sensation, one timeless and passionate moment.
When the two broke apart from the kiss, they panted for breath. Their eyes were still closed as they stayed close to each other, noses and foreheads touching and arms still wrapped around one another.
Jensen's eyes fluttered open as he smiled at YN, "That was the most amazing first kiss."
"It was like a movie or a book," she agreed with a smirk.
"Maybe we should-"
"Way ahead of you."
The heat rose in YN's cheeks as her tongue touched Jensen's, quick and electric and delicious, then firmer, more determined, more curious about the heat that lay within, seeking to chase down that elusive liquid lightning that reached through both of them.
Jensen broke away for a moment, "This was so worth the wait."
"Agreed," YN nodded.
The rest of the night was spent with YN and Jensen on the couch, watching romance movies and making out during the kissing scenes. The two became more inseparable in their relationship than in their friendship. The love between Jensen and YN was stronger than they knew.
And Jensen was true to his word. He was YN's last love, no matter how long it took.

"He was heading back to the one place he hoped he’d never have to see again."
YN felt Jensen wrap his arms around her body during the night. It wasn't unusual for him to do this. He'd never admit to it, but he was a cuddler through and through.
But when she felt him shaking against her and breathing rapidly, she knew something was wrong.
"Jay, honey? You okay?" YN whispered to him.
He didn't respond to her, which made her worry more than she was. She tried to roll over to look at him, but he had a tight grip on her.
"Jensen, baby, tell me what's wrong," YN tried again.
Instead of a verbal response, she got a vigorous headshake from her husband. Though he was somewhat communicating with her, he still wouldn't allow her to move. She glanced up at her clock and saw it was 3:34am.
YN let out a long sigh of exhaustion, "Honey, I can't fix it if you don't tell me-"
"P-please..." Jensen whispered.
YN blinked a few times and tried to turn her head to him, "What was that?"
"P-please...just...don't g-go."
Don't go? What? "Jay, what do you mean 'don't go'?"
"Don't l-leave. Don't hurt m-me, please. Just..."
YN felt his arms loosen around her, which allowed her to turn and look at her husband. His face was covered in tears and sweat, his eyes were puffy, and he was breathing pretty hard.
She laid a hand on his cheek and whispered, "Was it a nightmare?"
He gave her a small nod while he rubbed his eyes with his knuckles. He moved away from her slightly and sat up in the bed, clutching a pillow in his arms. YN sat up as well and leaned to turn on the bedside lamp.
"Do you want to talk about it?" she asked calmly.
He shook his head, "Not right now."
"Must've been a bad one, huh?"
"Very bad. Very, very bad."
YN pushed the covers off of herself and moved to stand, "I'm going to go make some tea then."
Suddenly, Jensen grabbed her arm and squeezed hard enough to bruise, "No, no, no, no, no! Y-you can't leave. You can't go!"
"Okay, okay," she sat back on the bed, "I'm not going anywhere, Jay. I'm right here. I'd never leave you."
Jensen slowly let go of her arm, "I-I'm sorry."
She took his hand in hers, "It's okay. You're just scared, yeah?"
He nodded, "I just don't want to be alone right now."
She laid a hand on his cheek and tilted his head up, "Would you care to join me downstairs then? I'll turn on the fireplace and make some tea-"
"Can we have hot chocolate instead?" he interrupted her.
YN smirked, "Of course, baby."
She waited for Jensen to step out of the bed first to make sure he'd be all right. Before YN could step out of the bed herself, Jensen walked over and picked her up in his arms. He laid his head in her neck and walked out of their bedroom.
He must've had a good memory of the house layout and the stairs because not once did he move his head from her neck. He made it down the hallway and down the stairs without a single problem.
When they got to the kitchen, YN laid a hand on his check, "Honey, I can't make the hot chocolate while in your arms."
Jensen lifted his head and looked at his wife, "Can you try?"
YN rolled her eyes, "I don't want to risk pouring hot milk on myself, Jay."
"Okay, that's understandable," he set her down on her feet and held on her hand, "What about one handed?"
"Nice try," YN smiled, "Why don't you help me instead? That way you can stay right here."
Jensen nodded, "I can handle that."
YN instructed Jensen to get the hot chocolate packets from the cabinet while she boiled the milk. Once it boiled, Jensen added the hot chocolate to it while YN stirred the mixture.
"Can you grab a couple mugs from the cabinet?" YN asked.
Jensen nodded, "Sure."
He grabbed their 'Mr. and Mrs.' mugs and passed them to YN. She poured the hot chocolate into the mugs and put the other dishes into the sink. As YN reached for the mugs, Jensen stepped in front of her and took them.
"I can take them, honey," YN reached for the mugs again.
Jensen leaned away from her, "No, no. I can handle this," he looked towards the living room, "C-can we go in there now?"
"Sure, Jay," YN nodded.
The two walked into the living room side by side. Jensen set the mugs on the coffee table then turned to YN. He lifted her once more in his arms and sat on the couch with YN in his lap.
YN chuckled, "Well how am I supposed to reach my hot chocolate now, baby?"
Jensen leaned forward, grabbed his mug, and handed it to his wife, "C-can't we just share mine right now?"
"Of course," YN took a sip of the hot chocolate.
She then lifted it towards her husband's lips to let him drink as well. She kept the mug close to her as she absorbed the warmth.
"Do you want to talk about your nightmare now?" YN asked.
Jensen nodded and took a deep breath as fresh tears filled his eyes, "He was heading back to the one place he hoped he'd never have to see again."
YN blinked in confusion, "Okay, you're going to have to explain that one to me a little more in detail."
Jensen closed his eyes as he spoke, "You remember my ex, right? The...the abusive one?"
"Unfortunately, yes I do," YN nodded.
"S-she was in the nightmare. She was...still around, as in still my..."
"Still your girlfriend."
Jensen nodded, "Yes," he paused, "I-I don't want to go into a lot of detail b-because I don't really have the energy f-for a panic attack right now."
YN brought the mug to his lips for another drink, "Here, take a sip of this."
He took a small sip before nodding for her to take a drink as well. YN took her own sip then brought the mug back down to her chest.
Jensen took a breath and continued, "All I c-can fully recall is...she kept telling m-me...that you'd leave me...forever..."
"Jensen, look at me," YN laid a hand on his cheek, "You are the most amazing man I've ever met. You're kind and compassionate and loving and funny and smart and so very handsome. You know that I'd never ever leave you."
A tear fell down Jensen's face, "Do you promise?"
YN wiped the tear from his cheek, "I promise," she leaned forward and kissed him.
Jensen smiled, "I love you."
"I love you more."
"I love you most."
YN looked out the window, "Look, it started snowing."
Jensen turned and looked as well, "It's beautiful. Do you think we could stay here and watch for a while?"
"Well, I don't plan on going back to bed any time soon," YN lifted the mug, "And I'd like to finish the hot chocolate."
Jensen moved himself and YN to where they could see the snow falling better. He leaned back into the couch and laid his head on his wife's shoulder. YN smiled as she snuggled into her husband.
"You're the best thing to ever happen to me, Mrs. Ackles," Jensen whispered.
YN sighed in comfort, "And you, Mr. Ackles, are the greatest part of my life."

“What does this button do?”
"What's that?" YN asked her father.
Jensen groaned as he followed his daughter's pointed finger towards a sign, "A stop sign."
"And that?" she asked, pointing to a tree.
"A pine tree."
"And that?"
"A rose bush."
While Danneel was out with her friends, Jensen was babysitting his daughter decided to take her to the park for the day. After all, it was a beautiful and sunny spring day in Austin, which was very rare.
And being cooped up in the house with a 5-year-old who has ten times the energy he does didn't seem like a smart idea.
Once at the park, YN immediately ran to the playground to play with her friends. Jensen decided to walk around the paved path at the park, mainly to be able to keep an eye on his daughter but to also enjoy the fresh air.
What was supposed to be a peaceful walk ended up being a questionaire for Jensen and YN. It wasn't that Jensen didn't want to have the company of his daughter, but he could go without her asking question after question.
"Why is the sky blue?" another question from YN.
Jensen sighed as he closed his eyes, "Because the air scatters blue light from the Sun across the sky and down to our eyes."
"Why are you so tall?"
"Because I'm older."
"Why-"
"YN!" Jensen yelled, "For five minutes, can you not ask me some stupid question!? Jeez, kid, you're giving me a migraine," he groaned."
YN immediately shut her mouth and looked down at her feet. Her father had never yelled at her like that before. She slowed her step until she came to a stop and let go of Jensen's hand. Her head was still down as tears filled her eyes.
Jensen no longer felt his daughter's hand in his. He looked down and she wasn't next to him anymore either.
He turned around and saw her standing in the middle of the path. Her hands were at her sides and her hair covered her face.
He walked towards her cautiously, "YN? Are you okay?"
She didn't move or speak as Jensen bent down to her level. He moved her hair from her face and lifted her chin.
And he felt his heart break.
YN had tears pouring down her face as she sobbed. She was crying her eyes out, but trying her best to stay quiet.
Seeing his daughter cry was definitely one of the worst things in the world, right up there with any injury she has had or will ever have and any broken heart she'll get (as well as any boyfriend she brings home).
"YN, honey, what's wrong?" Jensen asked.
She shook her head, refusing to speak.
Jensen laid a hand on her cheek and wiped the tears from her face, "YN, why are you crying? Tell me."
Another head shake from YN let him know she wasn't going to tell him anything.
Suddenly, the realization hit him, "W-was it what I said?"
YN looked up and made eye contact with him. She didn't have to speak a word. Jensen knew the answer.
And he felt his heart break a second time.
Jensen felt tears spring up in his own eyes, "Honey, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you. That wasn't the way I should've said it," he sighed, "Daddy has been really tired and stressed out lately with his new show. And being home for a while doesn't make the stress go away. I shouldn't have snapped at you or taken any of it out on you," he paused as he wiped his eyes, "But you know what does make the stress go away?"
Instead of speaking, YN blinked at him, curious of what the answer was.
"Getting to spend time with you. Every minute I spend with you makes everything worth it," he smiled at her, "Getting to see your pretty face, hearing your voice and laughter, watching you play and have fun, and seeing your beautiful smile makes me so happy."
YN couldn't help the smile that formed on her face, "Really?"
Jensen chuckled, "Really really."
Even though she was happy for a moment, YN's face fell once more as she quietly spoke to her father, "I'm sorry if I made you mad, Daddy."
"You didn't, sweetheart," Jensen kissed her cheek, "You can ask me any question you want. Never be afraid to ask me anything."
The smile returned to his daughter's face, "Okay, Daddy."
"Why don't we head back to the house?" Jensen suggested, "And if you want, we can stop at the ice cream stand in town."
YN gave him a questionable look, "What kind of ice cream?"
Jensen laughed, "Anything you want."
"Anything?"
"Anything."
"Even a banana split with-"
"Extra cherries and whipped cream? Yes."
YN giggled, "Then let's go!"
Jensen chuckled as he picked YN up and sat her on his shoulders. He held on to her hands as he walked through the playground and towards the car.
Once at the car, Jensen buckled her into her car seat, tickling her sides and making her laugh as he did so. He jogged around to the driver's side and climbed in the car.
"Daddy?" YN asked.
Jensen turned the key in the ignition, "Yes, YN?"
YN quietly spoke, "You said I can ask questions, right?"
"You can ask any question you want, sweetheart."
"Okay," YN then pointed to the switch on the car door, "What does this button do?"
Jensen chuckled, "It rolls down the window. Why do you ask?"
YN shrugged, "No reason."
Jensen smiled as he pushed all four buttons on the driver door to roll all the windows down, "Was it for this reason?"
YN smiled and nodded, "Yeah."
Jensen put the car in drive and pulled out of the parking lot. As he drove towards the ice cream stand in town, he turned on the radio in the car. He was a little shocked to hear The High Kings through the speakers.
But it was not as shocking as hearing his 5-year-old daughter singing the words to Will Ye Go Lassie, Go?
"And we'll all go together To pluck wild mountain thyme-"
"When did you learn this?" Jensen interrupted his daughter.
YN giggled, "You sing it all the time, Daddy."
Jensen smiled and chuckled to himself, "That's my girl."

“The dog sniffed his owner's hand and then said to him, 'Hello, my name is actually Rufus, not Buddy...'"
While taking a nice Sunday drive in the Impala, Dean and YN see a dog walking down the side of the road. Dean pulls the car over to the shoulder and puts it in park.
"What are you doing?" YN asks.
"I just want to make sure it's okay," Dean says as he opens the car door.
YN watches him cross the street and calling the dog to him. She steps out and watches Dean whistle at the dog to get it to come to him.
Eventually the dog walks over and sniffs Dean's hand. Dean pets it a few times and looks for a collar. When he doesn't see one, he picks up the dog and walks back to the Impala.
YN chuckled, "Let me guess. We're taking the dog with us?"
Dean nodded, "You said you've always wanted a dog, YN."
"I'm pretty sure I said puppy dog. Not a full grown dog."
"But look at him. He's still pretty small for his size."
"So it's a boy?" YN smirked, "Congrats, Dean."
He rolled his eyes, "Hardy har har."
Dean opened the backseat and helped the dog inside. He and YN climbed back into the Impala and continued down the road.
Every once in a while, Dean would look in the rearview mirror at the dog. The dog laid perfectly still in the backseat. He seemed to be sleeping and would take long, deep breaths.
"You think he's okay?" Dean asked.
YN looked in the backseat, "I don't know. I've never seen a dog sit that still before," she turned back to Dean, "Too bad we can't just communicate with him."
Dean smirked, "That's what you think." -------------------- Once Dean and YN were back at the bunker, Dean carried the dog inside while YN looked for something they could use for a bed and a collar.
Dean laid the dog down on an old pillow and YN tied a piece of rope around it's neck. YN went into the kitchen and got him a bowl of water, hoping he'd drink something and feel a bit better.
Unfortunetly, the dog just laid still once more.
"If you can trust me, I have an idea," Dean suggested.
YN gave him a nervous look, "Okay?"
Dean ran off to the hallway while YN stayed with the dog. She sat down next to him and started petting him lightly.
She smiled, "You're a good boy, aren't you? We're going to have to think of a name for you."
"How about Buddy?" Dean said as he ran back into the library with a book and small box in hand.
"That's very ordinary, don't you think?" YN made a face at him.
Dean shrugged, "Well, it's better than nothing. We can't just call him dog forever."
He sat a rather large book on the table and sat down in the chair. When he opened the book, he scanned page after page, looking for a specific spell.
After a moment, he pointed at a page, "Here. An Inuit spell."
"A what?" YN asked as she walked over to him.
"It's a spell to be able to communicate with animals," Dean replied as he walked into the kitchen, "Like a human/animal mind meld. Or reading thoughts."
YN looked at the dog, "It won't hurt Buddy, right?"
Dean walked back into the library, "No, it won't hurt Buddy," he bent down and plucked a hair from the dog's fur, "Okay, that might've hurt a little. But the spell won't."
YN watched as Dean mixed together ingredients he grabbed from his room and the kitchen. Whatever concoction he was creating looked disgusting. She just hoped she didn't have to drink it.
Dean held up the glass, "Gross, right?"
YN nodded, "Nasty."
In one large gulp, Dean downed the disgusting liquid and groaned, "It definitely tastes as bad as it looks," he looked down at the book and read from the page, "Deila hér me. Dag eru nou rar vitur orum."
The two sat in silence for a moment, looking between each other and the dog. YN was starting to think the spell wasn't going to work.
"Give it time," Dean said as if he was reading her mind, "It takes a minute to kick in."
YN walked over to the dog and sat next to him, "I just hope he's okay."
Dean stood from his seat and sat next  to the dog as well, "We'll be able to figure out what's wrong with Buddy soon. I promise."
The dog sniffed his owner's hand and then said to him, "Hello, my name is actually Rufus, not Buddy..."
Dean stared at the dog wide eyed, "Whoa, that was quick."
YN grabbed Dean's hand, "What? It worked? What's he saying?"
"He said his name is Rufus," he answered.
"Rufus? Damn, Buddy was growing on me," YN crossed her arms.
"Really? You think Buddy is better than Rufus? I pity what you end up naming your children," Rufus said.
Dean chuckled, "Ouch."
"What? What's he saying?" YN asked.
"Nothing, nothing," Dean smirked.
YN grabbed the water bowl and moved it to Rufus, "Can you ask him to drink something?"
Dean turned to Rufus, "How about it, Rufus? You thirsty?"
Rufus shook his body, "Nah, not in the mood for it."
"He said he didn't want it," Dean told YN.
"See if you can figure out what's wrong with him," YN suggested.
Dean turned to the dog, "Rufus, you've been acting weird since we picked you up from the street. What's up?"
Rufus whimpered as he laid back down, "My best friend. He went off somewhere a while back and hasn't returned. I left my home to search for him, but I don't know where he is."
"He said his previous owner is gone. He's been looking for him," Dean explained to YN.
YN sighed and pet Rufus, "Poor thing. He must be so sad."
Dean scratched Rufus' head, "Judging by how skinny he is, I bet he's been searching for a long time. Who knows what happened to his previous owner."
YN thought for a moment, "Did you have a collar, Rufus?"
"No," Rufus answered, "My best friend couldn't afford one."
Dean shook his head at YN, "I'm starting to think maybe his previous owner was homeless."
That statement pulled at YN's heartstrings, "Rufus, you can stay with us if you want. If not, we completely understand. But we'll feed you and take you for walks and play fetch."
Rufus wagged his tail in response, "I do like walks."
Dean smiled, "I think you hit the nail on the head there, YN."
Rufus jumped up on YN and licked her face, causing her to fall backwards in a fit of laughter. Dean started laughing as well as he watched YN and Rufus bond.
"Who's a good boy, Rufus? Huh? Who's my good boy," YN said while scratching Rufus's stomach.
Rufus barked at her, "Me! Me! I'm the good boy!"
Dean smiled at the two, "Welcome to the family, Rufus."

"No it's just...I can't believe you are wearing MY clothes."
It was after midnight when YN walked down the steps of the Bunker. She was trying to be as quiet as possible as to not wake Sam and Dean.
She had just finished a solo hunt, a small vampire nest, a few towns over. Sam and Dean didn't see it worth their time, but YN thought she could handle it.
Fortunately, she got away with only minor cuts and bruises.
Unfortunately, the Winchester brothers weren't going to be too happy when they notice they're T-shirt and flannel took most of the blow from the vampires.
YN was covered from head to toe in blood and gunk from the nest. And since it was laundry day for her, she had to grab something to wear when she went out.
Sam's gray T-shirt and Dean's red and black flannel just happened to be the first things she saw from their clean laundry baskets.
Now back from the hunt, YN maneuvered quietly down the hallway towards her bedroom. She just wanted to shower, get into her pajamas, and get some sleep. But before that, she had to try and wash all the grossness from Sam and Dean's clothes.
She turned the door handle and pushed her bedroom door open. She walked inside and tossed her bag on the bed. As she was taking off her boots, she heard footsteps approaching her room.
"Well, well, well. Look who it is. It's way past your curfew, YN," Dean smirks with sarcasm.
"Hardy har har, Winchester," YN rolled her eyes, "What, were you just waiting up for me?"
Sam walked around the corner and stood next to his brother in the doorway, "Not just him."
YN scoffed, "Wow, you two are worse than my parents."
"What were you doing tonight, YN?" Dean asked her.
She turned to face them, "I just went on a simple vamp next hunt and-"
"Is that...my flannel?" he pointed at her.
YN looked down as a blush covered her cheeks, "Y-yeah. About that-"
"And is that my T-shirt?" Sam asked.
"Okay, listen. My clothes were still drying while I was researching. I had on just my pajamas at the time that I found the case. It was a simple vamp nest hunt I swear."
Dean walked into the room with his arms crossed, "And you wore our clothes on this hunt?"
YN rolled her eyes, "Would you chill? I was getting ready to wash them."
"But you didn't think to ask before taking them?" Sam questioned.
"I didn't think it was a big deal," she winced, "It's not, is it?"
Dean glanced at his younger brother before turning back to YN, "No it's just...I can't believe you are wearing my clothes."
"And mine," Sam agreed.
YN frowned, "I'm sorry for not asking. I won't do it again."
Dean's shoulders relaxed, "We're not upset, YN. Next time just wait a little bit longer for your laundry to finish. Then ask Sam and I for some help maybe."
"Thanks, Dean," she walked forward to hug them, but they retracted from her.
"Whoa, whoa, YN. Maybe, uh, maybe go shower first?" Sam suggested.
YN looked down at herself, "Oh, right."

"Oh my gosh," YN breathed as she covered her mouth, "I can't believe it.
"She had been feeling poorly all morning: nausea, mood swings, and exhaustion. Dean had suggested for her to stay home and sleep it off while he and Sam go on a hunt. She agreed and went back to bed.
While they were gone, however, YN went to the store and picked up a pregnancy test. She had a feeling that she didn't have a regular stomach bug, and she just wanted to check.
When she got home, she went straight to the bathroom and read the directions on the box. She took the test, set it on the counter, and sat in silence for 3 minutes while it processed. Her leg bounced rapidly on the ground while her anxiety made her mind race.
After the 3 minutes were up, she picked up the pregnancy test and gasped.
"I'm pregnant," she whispered as a tear rolled down her face, "I-I'm going to be a mom."
Suddenly she heard the Bunker door slam open. She knew she had to tell Dean the news immediately. And whether or not he'd be okay with it, she knew she'd be thrilled about starting a family.
YN ran out of the bathroom and down the hallway towards the library, "Sam! Dean! I have news!"
But when she got to the library, her heart dropped.
Dean was leaning against Sam, his hand pushing against his abdomen and he was covered in blood. Sam was trying to help his brother move quickly through the Bunker.
"YN, help me!" Sam yelled out.
She rushed over and helped hold Dean up, "What in the world happened?"
"Dean was stabbed by a vampire. We got here as fast as we could," he explained.
"Why didn't you go to the hospital?"
"He wouldn't let me. He said we had to get back here to you."
Sam kicked Dean's bedroom door open and he and YN helped him lay down on the bed. Dean groaned as he fell against the bed, his hand still pushing down on his abdomen.
"Babe, why didn't you just go to the hospital?" YN asked Dean.
Dean coughed as blood started to fill his mouth, "I-I had to...c-come see y-you."
She turned to Sam, "You could've called me and I would've met you at the hospital!"
Dean grabbed her arm with the hand not covering his abdomen, "N-no. Didn't...didn't w-want to risk it."
"Risk what?" she said through tears.
He stared at her, "I-I didn't want...to d-die without s-seeing you...one l-last time."
She suddenly remembered the item in her hand, "Dean, there's something I need to tell you."
"W-what?" he coughed up more blood.
YN held up the pregnancy test, "You're going to be a father, Dean."
Dean stared at her in shock, "Y-you're pregnant?"
She wiped her tears away and nodded, "Yeah. I had a feeling that the nausea wasn't from something I ate."
Dean sighed, "You're g-going to be...an amazing m-mother, YN."
"You can't die, Dean. I can't raise this baby alone," she laid a hand on his cheek.
"Y-you won't be alone...I-I'll always be w-with you," he smiled, "I'll w-watch over you...and the b-baby."
YN glanced at Sam, "There has to be something we can do."
Sam shook his head as a tear fell down his face, "There's nothing."
Dean squeezed YN's arm, "N-no, it's okay...it's b-better this way."
YN started to sob, "But Dean..."
"I love you, YN," he took a shallow breath, "I'll...always...love...you..."
She watched his eyes fall and the breath leave his lips. A gasped escaped her lips as she watched the love of her life slip away. She looked at Sam and saw he was crying as well.
She stood from the bed and ran over to Sam. She wrapped her arms around him and sobbed into his chest. He wrapped his arms around her and held her as she cried.
"H-he's gone, Sammy," she whispered.
"I know," Sam sighed.
She looked up at him, "What are we going to do?"
Sam looked at Dean then at YN, "Dean would want us to keep living. So that's what we're going to do."
That evening, Sam and YN gave Dean a hunter's funeral. They stayed outside until the fire went out completely and even a while after that.
After a few hours, the two walked inside the Bunker. Neither of them knew what to do. They sat down in the library and silently sulked.
At one point, YN looked down at her stomach and laid a hand on it, "Sam, how am I going to raise this baby without Dean?"
"Well, you have me. And I'll help you as much as I can," said Sam.
She smiled at him, "Thanks, Sam."
A few years later, YN pushes open the front door to the bunker. She groans as she runs down the steps and tosses her duffle bag on the ground.
"I'm back!" she yelled as she walked into the library.
When she heard small footsteps running down the hallway, she couldn't help the smile that appeared on her face.
Her daughter ran into the library, "Mommy's home!"
YN bent down and scooped her daughter into her arms, "Hi, baby girl. Did you have fun with Uncle Sammy?"
"We had lots and lots of fun. We played house and he did my hair and I did his hair and we play chef-"
"Playing chef and setting the oven on fire are two completely different things," Sam said as he walked into the library.
YN winced, "Was it bad?"
Sam shook his head, "Nothing I couldn't handle. How was the hunt?"
"Salt and burn. Easy as pie," YN chuckled.
Her daughter gasped, "Oh, Mommy, we should have some pie!"
Sam rolled his eyes, "Wow, that's the most Dean statement I've ever heard from her."
YN smiled, "She gets more and more like her father every day," she looked at her daughter, "I'll make you a deal, honey. I know you've been working on your spelling lately. If you can spell your name to me and Sammy, I'll make pie," she set her back on the ground.
Her daughter scoffed, "That's so easy. D-E-A-N-N-A, Deanna!"
"That's right! My smart little girl," YN bent down and kissed her cheek, "What kind of pie would you like?"
"What was Daddy's favorite?"
"Apple pie, especially my apple pie."
"Then apple pie it is! Can I help?"
YN looked up at Sam, "Do you have the fire extinguisher ready?"
Sam chuckled, "Yeah. It's somewhere in the kitchen."
YN took Deanna's hand, "Sammy's going to help, too, Dea."
"But Uncle Sammy can't cook," Deanna mumbled.
"Hey, I can cook just fine," Sam faked offense.
Deanna rolled her eyes, "Burnt mac & cheese isn't fine, Sammy."
YN laughed, "She's a mini Dean all right."

December One Shots Masterlist
Sam and Dean made their way into the crowded bar on New Years Eve. It was a little less than an hour until midnight, so the bar was packed with people.
Instead of their usual celebration on the holiday, staying in and drinking the night away at the Bunker, Dean suggested he and Sam go out and celebrate like normal people.
"Yes, Dean, because a crowded bar is a normal people thing," Sam yelled over the crowd.
Dean rolled his eyes, "Would you relax? Get a beer and socialize."
Sam crossed his arms, "Socialize? Hate to break it to you, Dean, but everyone here either with a group, in a relationship, or a lonely old man at the bar."
"Okay, you got me there. But why don't you mingle around at least. Talk to people."
"Oh like how you talk to bartenders until they get off work then go have sex in the Impala just for her to never call you again?"
"Ouch, Sam. My pride is a little bruised now," Dean glanced towards the bar, "Besides, none of them are really my style."
"What about her?" Sam pointed towards the bar.
Dean followed Sam's stare. Two men stood from the bar and walked away, giving Dean a clear view of a certain woman behind the bar.
The bartender was shaking two mixing glasses in her hands to the beat of the music that was blasting through the speakers. She was talking with a few of the guys at the bar while she mixed and poured drinks for the customers.
She was laughing, smiling, and dancing around while she was working. Her hair was wavy as it flowed down her shoulders and back. She was wearing a strapless black top and low-waisted jeans. She had almost no makeup on, which was a bit strange for a female bartender.
Dean didn't blink as he stared at the girl. Sam waved a hand in front of his face and snapped his fingers a few times, but Dean was frozen.
"Why don't you go get us a couple beers?" Sam suggested, "That way you have an excuse to talk to her."
"Y-yeah, I'll, uh, I'll get the drinks," Dean stutters as he pushed through people to get to the bar.
There was one spot at the bar where no one was sitting or crowding around, so Dean made a dash for that area. The bartender was talking to a customer while she poured him a shot of tequila, so she didn't notice someone walking up to the bar.
Dean cleared his throat to get her attention, "Excuse me?"
The girl turned to him, "What can I get you, stranger?"
"Actually, the name's Dean," he winked.
She rolled her eyes, "Okay. What can I get you, Dean?"
"How about your name, number, and couple beers?" he flirted.
He watched her reach under the bar and grabbed two bottle with one hand. He reached out to grab them, but she pulled back.
The bartender held the bottles behind her as she kicked up her back foot, popping the bottle caps off the top.
Dean stared at her wide eyed, "Whoa, cool trick."
"Thanks," she handed him the beers, "Just a little something I learned in college."
"Oh a college girl?" Dean smiled, "What's a smart girl like you doing in a place like this, huh?"
The girl leaned against the bar, "Well, I went to college for business. You try and figure out the rest, big boy. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got customers to serve."
"I mean...I'm willing to pay for service. If you catch my drift," Dean raised his eyebrows.
The girl slammed her hands down on the bar, "Look here, bud. I am not interested. Apparently you've never had a girl tell you no, and you sure as hell need it. I'm here to work, bring in the new year, and go home. Simple as that. Now if you'd be so kind as to fuck off, I'd be very grateful."
Dean was dumbfounded. No one had ever spoken to him like that before. He just simply nodded to the girl and walked away with some of his dignity still intact.
Sam looked up when he saw Dean approach, "Hey, how'd it go with the bartender?"
"Don't ask," Dean grumbled as he handed over a beer.
"Got shot down huh?" Sam asked.
"You don't even know," Dean drank a sip of beer, "There's being shot down and then there's that."
Sam winced, "Yikes. Sorry man."
Dean shrugged, "It's whatever."
The brothers sat down at a table to watch the New Years Celebration on TV. They drank their beers in silence while the crowded bar tuned everything else out.
Sam ended up drinking two beers while Dean had already downed 5 in the span of a half hour. While they watched the celebration on TV, a random girl walked up to Sam and asked him to dance.
Dean nodded for him to go, which Sam was happy about. He left Dean sitting at the table alone to sulk in his own misery.
While he was sitting and drinking, he felt a tap on his shoulder. When he turned to see who it was, he was genuinely surprised to see the bartender.
"Hey, um, it's Dean right?" she said while handing him another beer.
Dean took the beer and nodded, "Yeah."
The girl sighed and sat down across from him, "Listen, I wanted to apologize for snapping earlier."
"You think you should apologize?" Dean asked in shock, "I couldn't take the hint that you weren't interested. If anything, I should be apologizing to you."
She leaned back in the seat, "Yeah, but you haven't had guys grabbing your ass or your boobs all night. Or had people throwing drinks at you instead of simply asking for another one. Or had one of your workers quit on you because she can't handle the stress of the business."
"Wait, workers? Do you own this bar?" Dean asked.
She chuckled, "Well, duh! Just figure that out did you?"
"You said you went to college for business. I just thought this was like an extra job or something."
"Nope. Built this place from the ground up. But I don't want to be the owner that sits in the back at a desk all day and night. So I took some tricks I learned from college parties and my friend taught me how to mix drinks. Now I'm the head bartender."
"Sounds like you've got your feet on the ground pretty well."
"Eh, it pays the bills. There are perks to being your own boss, like kicking out a drunk piece of shit for dumping ice in your bra. But there are also set backs to the job, like a drunk piece of shit dumping ice in your bra."
Dean smiled, "You kicked him out by yourself?"
"Oh, hell no," the bartender laughed, "The guys at the bar that know me picked him up by the chair and tossed him outside."
"Nice," Dean laughed with her, "I still feel bad though for making your night worse."
The girl shook her head, "You didn't make it worse. If anything I made your night worse. You've been sitting here for a half hour, drinking your life away like every other depressed person in this bar. And I caused that."
"Could be worse, I could be doing it at home with my brother," he pointed over at Sam, "Normally I'm the one dancing with the girl. Looks like he finally learned the ropes from his big brother."
"It's sweet that you two are close," she smiled, "You're a really nice guy, Dean."
Suddenly everyone in the bar started counting down from 10, snapping Dean back into the reality that it was New Years Eve. The bartender smiled at him as she stood from her seat. She walked up to him and laid a hand on his cheek.
"What are you doing?" he asked her.
She winked, "3, 2, 1..." and she kissed him.
Dean was shocked to feel her lips on his, but soon he melted into her touch as their tongues began to dance. He wrapped his arms around her waist as she wrapped her own around his neck. The noise of the bar was a blur as the two continued the passionate kiss.
Slowly, the bartender pulled back from Dean's lips. Dean opened his eyes and stared at her for a moment. Neither of them moved a muscle as they tried to catch their breaths.
The bartender smirked and whispered in his ear, "I'm YN by the way. I get off at 2:30 if you're willing to wait."
Dean's face suddenly blushed as he looked up and down YN's face, "Um, s-sure. Yeah, I'll w-wait."
"Good," she stood up from him, "I've got to get back to work. Bye Dean."
He waved at her, "Bye YN."
Dean watched her walk back to the bar, flipping her air and swinging her hips as she walked. He leaned on the table and stared at her while she got back to work and made drinks for the bar. Since it was officially the new year, people were crowding around the bar for celebration drinks.
Sam walked back over to the table and sat down, "Happy New Year, Dean."
Dean looked up at his brother, "Huh, what? Oh yeah, Happy New Year, Sammy."
Sam followed his gaze to the bar, "Did I miss something?"
"Oh, yeah. You missed a lot. Which reminds me," he handed Sam the car keys, "You can sleep in the Impala tonight. I've got plans."
Sam took the keys and blinked, "What plans?"
"New Years plans, Sam," Dean winked, "Celebrating the right way."

"Okay, Ginger, you're going to stay right here and be a good girl while I try and find you some food," YN pet the dog in her room, "And hopefully we can talk Dean into keeping you."
She stood from the bed and slowly backed out of the room. Ginger took a few steps towards her, but YN raised a hand to hold her off. She stepped into the hallway and quickly shut the door behind herself.
She walked quickly down the hallway and towards the kitchen. When she got there, she opened the fridge and looked for anything she could feed the dog. She grabbed the last of the bologna, a package of hot dogs, and the leftover ham from the weekend.
Just as she was about to leave the kitchen, she heard the door to the Bunker swing open and her heart dropped.
"He's already back?" YN said to herself.
She heard footsteps coming down the stairs and started to panic. She looked down at the food in her hands and quickly ran back over to the fridge. She swung it open and tried to put the food back as quickly as possible.
And it would've worked if she didn't drop the leftover ham on the ground, causing a loud sound to echo throughout the Bunker.
In that moment, Dean walked around the kitchen corner, "What are you doing?"
YN turned around and dropped the hot dogs and bologna, "N-nothing!" she chuckled nervously, "You're, uh, you're home early."
"It was just a quick salt and burn, nothing too thrilling," Dean shrugged.
"Oh," she smiled, "That's nice. Glad you're home."
Dean crossed his arms and leaned in the doorway, "So, are you going to explain that?" he nodded to the food on the ground.
YN blushed as she looked down, "Oh, that? I, uh, got hungry."
"And you were going to eat an entire package of hot dogs, the smoked bologna, and the leftover ham?"
"I-I was really hungry."
Dean walked into the kitchen and stood in front of YN, "Really hungry, huh? Have you been...feeling okay?"
YN nodded, "Yeah, I'm great. Lots of energy."
"Energetic? Hmm, not nauseous or anything?"
"Nope. Perfectly healthy."
"Any mood swings?"
"Not that I've noticed."
"So, you're feeling just fine then? Just a little hungry?"
"What's with this sudden interrogation, Dean?" YN crossed her arms.
Dean held his hands up in defense, "Nothing, nothing. Just curious is all."
YN thought for a moment before it suddenly hit her, "Do you think I'm pregnant?"
Dean blushed, "Y-you're not?"
"No, Dean. I'm not pregnant," she glared at him.
"Oh, okay then. So you're just extra hungry?" he asked.
Before she could answer, there was a bark echoing through the Bunker. YN blushed as she watched Dean whip his head around.
"What was that?" he asked her.
"What was what?" YN smiled.
Dean gave her a confused look, "You didn't hear the bark?"
YN chuckled, "What bark?"
She whipped her head around Dean's when she heard Ginger bark again from the bedroom. Dean turned to YN and just stared at her.
"I know you heard it that time," Dean smirked, "What's going on?"
YN was suddenly panicked as she pointed and blurted out, "Look over there! Sam's keying your Impala!"
Dean turned around, "Wait, what?"
She took that moment to grab the food off the ground and bolt out of the kitchen. When Dean turned back around, she was gone. He could hear her footsteps running down the hallway and decided to go after her.
YN pushed the bedroom door open and quickly shut it behind herself. Ginger was sitting by the door wagging her tail and panting.
"You have got to keep quiet. Dean's already suspicious," she pulled the bologna out of the wrapping and handed it to Ginger.
Ginger took it from her and ate it as quickly as she could. YN laughed as she took out a hot dog and fed it to the dog.
"You're such a good girl, Ginger," she sighed, "I just hope Dean will think the same thing."
"Found you."
YN quickly turned around to see Dean leaning in the doorway. He had a smile on his face while he shook his head.
"You're not very good at hiding things, YN," he began, "And I told you having a pet in the Bunker isn't exactly a good idea."
YN pouted her lips as she pet the dog, "But Dean, look at her."
"It's a dog, YN."
"She was eating trash from the dumpster outside. She was starving."
"So you thought it would be a good idea to bring her here?"
"For some TLC? Yes, yes I did."
Dean groaned, "YN, I don't know about this."
YN bat her eye lashes and smiled at her boyfriend, "Come on, Dean. Look at her face."
He looked directly at the dog and slowly felt his heart melt. Ginger was whining and staring up at Dean. YN whined as well to try and seal the deal.
"Okay, fine! We can keep her," Dean rolled his eyes.
"Yay!" YN hugged the dog, "Ginger you get to stay!"
Dean bent down and scratched Ginger's head, "I'm totally going to regret this," Ginger took that moment to lick his cheek, "Okay, I guess you are pretty cute."
YN looked up at Dean before making a face, "Do you smell that?"
Dean nodded, "Yeah, what is that?"
The two stared at each other with wide eyes before they turned around and looked behind Ginger. And they're deduction was correct.
"Well, I'm definitely not cleaning that up," YN mumbled.
Dean scoffed, "You're really going to make me pick up the dog poop?"
YN shrugged, "We she is our responsibility now. And I've already fed her so you can clean up after her."
"I was right. I already regret this," Dean groaned.

"No, I said I need that file now," YN rubbed the side of her head as she paced, suddenly feeling a headache form from her secretary's stupidity, "It's a pink file with a yellow note sticking out of it. It's not hard to find."
On the other side of the room, Jensen was typing away on his laptop while on a Zoom call, "Sorry, my wife is talking with her secretary. Now like I was saying, I know things have been slow at the brewery with the quarantine, but that doesn't mean we just stop production."
Eliza was sitting in the kitchen with a puzzle box in front of her. Her parents had said they would work on the puzzle together as a family, but then they had to work. She had been waiting patiently for them to spend some time with her.
But ever since the pandemic and quarantine happened, YN and Jensen have just been too busy to spend time with Eliza.
"Are you actually braindead, Silvia? I said the pink file with the yellow note. It's on my desk in a pile of files," YN yelled into the phone, "See? I told you. Now if you would be so kind as to bring that by the house on your way home."
Eliza stood from the table, picked up the puzzle, and walked into the living room. She figured since her mother was actually talking at the moment and her father was glued to the computer, she could get through to YN first.
"Mom?" she said quietly.
"Shh, not right now sweetheart," YN whispered.
Eliza held up the box, "Can we put this together?"
YN shook her head, "Mommy's on the phone, Eliza. We can work on it...Silva!" she yelled in the phone, "I cannot get any work done without that file. No, I don't need the blue file and the pink file. I just need...you know what? Bring it all. I don't care anymore. It better be on my doorstep in the next hour."
Eliza watched her mother toss her cell phone on the couch before grabbing her head in annoyance. YN started to pace around the living room again, mumbling to herself.
"You said we could work on the puzzle today," Eliza tried again.
"Honey, I'm busy. Go ask your father to work on it with you," YN pointed to Jensen.
Eliza nodded and walked over to her father, "Daddy? Can we work on the puzzle?"
Jensen shook his head, "No, Eliza. I'm busy."
"But you're always busy," she whined.
"Well I work from home now, so I'm going to be busy," he turned to her, "Ask your mother to help."
"She said she's too busy."
"Then we're both too busy at the moment to work on it. Maybe we'll do it later."
"But that's what you've said for a week."
"Eliza, don't argue," YN stepped in, "You get started and we'll work on it later."
"But I want to work on it as a family!"
"We can't work on the puzzle right now-"
"You always say you can't do things with me."
"Now that's not true-"
"Yes it is!" Eliza yelled at her mother, "You and Daddy always say you're too busy to spend time with me! Even before the pandemic started! You're always working and when you're not working, you're sleeping or planning more work or cleaning!" tears poured down her face, "It's like I don't even exist anymore! It's like you don't care...or love me..."
YN felt tears rolling down her cheeks as she looked towards Jensen, who was also wiping his eyes free of tears.
"I don't even care about this stupid puzzle," Eliza said as she threw the puzzle on the ground, causing it to open and pieces to fly everywhere, "I just wanted to do something as a family."
Before YN or Jensen could do or say anything, Eliza turned and ran up the stairs towards her room. She slammed the door shut behind herself, leaned against the door, and slid down. She brought her knees up to her chest and started crying.
YN stood with her hands covering her mouth as tears continued to flow down her face. Jensen stood from his desk and walked over to her. He wrapped his arms around her as she started to sob.
"Oh my gosh, we're horrible parents," she whispered.
Jensen sighed, "No, we're not."
"She thinks we don't care. She thinks we don't love her, Jay," YN looked at her husband, "And you're telling me we're not horrible parents?"
"We've just been busy lately," Jensen spoke softly.
YN crossed her arms, "Think about it, Jensen. When is the last time you, Eliza, and myself did something all together?"
Jensen thought for a moment, "We went to the park last week."
"That was two months ago, Jay."
"What about the movies? We took her to see Frozen II."
"That was last year."
"The mall?"
"Sometime in January."
Jensen stared at his wife with wide eyes, "Oh man we really are horrible parents. We haven't spent time with her in months?"
"Not since the mandatory quarantine went into affect," YN sighed, "Face it, Jay. Our daughter hates us now. And who knows if we can even fix it."
Jensen looked around at the puzzle pieces on the floor, "I think I have an idea."
"Oh yeah? Will it work?" YN asked.
"I don't know," he shrugged, "But it's worth a shot."
Jensen got to work cleaning up the puzzle pieces while YN picked up the living room. She put all the work stuff between her and Jensen away, picked up the toys, and put on a Disney movie in the background.
Once Jensen got all the pieces back in the box, he spread them out on the dining room table. He walked over to the freezer and pulled out the ice cream tubs. He grabbed three spoons and set everything on the table.
"Okay, let's go change into our pjs," Jensen said to his wife.
YN and Jensen jogged to their room and changed out of their work clothes. Jensen changed into a pair of plaid pants and a T-shirt while YN chose a tank top and shorts.
When they walked back into the kitchen, however, their daughter was standing there. Her eyes were red and puffy, her face was still pinkish from crying, and she was looking between YN and Jensen.
"Why is there ice cream on the table? And why is Snow White playing on TV?" she asked.
YN bent down to her, "We wanted to say we're sorry, Eliza. We really messed up."
"We didn't know you felt this way. And we didn't know we were hurting you," Jensen joined in, "We never meant to make you feel ignored."
Eliza sighed, "You're always so busy. I guess I just thought that you guys forgot you had a daughter."
"Sweetheart," YN laid a hand on her cheek, "We could never ever forget about you. You're our baby."
"Being busy with work is no excuse for what we've done, and I know just apologizing won't fix it," Jensen nodded towards the ice cream, "But maybe some ice cream and a movie is a start?"
Eliza looked at the puzzle, "Can we do the puzzle?"
"Of course," YN smiled, "We'd love nothing more."
YN, Jensen, and Eliza sat around the table with the tubs of ice cream and spoons. Eliza started spreading the puzzle around the table while Jensen and YN watched.
Suddenly the doorbell rang. YN looked at Jensen who shrugged, neither of them knowing who it was. She got up from the table and walked over to the door.
She pulled it open and was shocked to see her secretary, "Silvia? What are you doing here?"
"You told me to bring those files for you, remember?" she handed YN a box.
"Oh, right. Um, actually," YN looked back into the kitchen, "Why don't you hang on to those for me? I'm taking a week off to spend some time with my family."
Silvia blinked, "But, ma'am, these need to get done before-"
"And I'm sure you'll have no problem getting it done for me," YN crossed her arms, "Right, Silvia?"
Silvia nervously chuckled and nodded, "Yes, ma'am. I'll call you tomorrow with an update."
"Actually, just email me. Unless there is a life or death emergency, don't call," YN pointed towards the kitchen, "Like I said, I'm needing some family time at the moment."
Silvia nodded as she turned and walked back towards her car. YN shut the door and made her way back into the kitchen. Jensen was helping Eliza figure out the outer border of the puzzle and the two arguing about which piece goes where was music to YN's ears.
YN sat down at the table and looked between her husband and daughter, "Okay, okay. For sanity's sake, let's have Eliza work on the border and Jay and I work on some of the inner pieces."
Jensen rolled his eyes, "You're the boss."
"Heck yes I am," YN winked.
"Who was at the door?" Eliza asked.
YN rolled her eyes, "Just my secretary," but she quickly added, "I told her I'm taking the week off. I need some family time with my two favorite people."
Eliza smiled, "Thanks, Mom."
"Anything for you, sweetheart."

YN walked on to her back porch with a pile of towels in hand, smiling as she heard the laughter coming from her children. She set the towels on the chair and took in the sight in front of her.
With it being New Years Eve and a massive heat wave hitting Texas, Jensen and YN decided to end the year with a pool party. Jensen called Jared, inviting him and his family over that evening to join in the fun.
YN helped her daughters get into their swimsuits while Jensen ran to the store to get stuff for burgers. Jared and Gen came over within an hour with their kids. When Jensen got home, he changed into his swimsuit as well and got started on the burgers.
After YN changed into her swimsuit, she grabbed a stack of towels and made her way to the back porch.
Now YN watched as her daughters and the Padalecki kids swam around the pool, splashing each other and laughing. She turned and saw Jensen and Jared by the grill, working on dinner. She saw Gen sitting at the edge of the pool with her feet in.
Jensen turned when he heard YN behind him, "I think we'll be ready here in about 5 minutes. Sound good?"
YN nodded, "Sounds perfect."
Jared tapped Jensen on the shoulder, "You two want to see something funny?"
YN and Jensen nodded as they watched Jared walk away from them and towards Gen. He walked up behind his wife, picked her up, and tossed her in the pool. YN and Jensen fell into a fit of laughter as they watched Gen swim to the surface.
"Jared, what the heck!?" she yelled.
Jared shrugged, "You can't just put your feet in the water. It's a pool party."
"Yeah, Mom," Tom stuck his tongue out, "Come swim with us!"
"Actually," Jensen called out, "Dinner's ready!"
All the kids in the pool whined in unison. They knew once they got out, the pool party was over. YN and Jensen exchanged a look before nodding to each other.
"I bet we still have that old projector somewhere," YN said to him.
"And I'll have Jared held me put up a sheet for a screen," Jensen smiled.
YN turned towards the pool, "What can we use for a dining table in the pool?"
"They could just eat from the edge of the pool."
"Very true."
"Look for the old outside lights as well. We can use those somehow."
YN smiled at her husband, "You think of everything, don't you?"
Jensen shrugged, "Not my first pool party."
"Our honeymoon was not a pool party, Jay," YN blushed.
"Oh yes it was," Jensen laughed, "You saw the romantic side, I saw the party side."
"You're such a dork," she said as she walked towards the house, "Get to work on the screen."
Jensen looked to Jared and nodded for him to come over. He explained the idea to him, which Jared was all for, and the two got to work.
It didn't take YN long to find the projector in the attic. It was sitting on top of some one VHS tapes, and YN really didn't know why she still had them. As she left the attic, she grabbed a string of the outdoor lights.
Jensen grabbed a bedsheet from the hall closet while Jared grabbed two 2x4s from his garage. The two hammered the planks into the grass in front of the pool. They stretched out the sheet and stapled it to the planks.
YN walked out of the house and handed the projector to Jensen, "I just hope it still works."
"If it doesn't, we'll think of something," Jensen winked.
"Hey, Jared. Want to help with the lights?" YN asked.
Jared nodded, "Sure thing."
YN handed him the end of the lights and explained how they need to spread them out. There were poles coming up from the edge of the pool, which is where the lights would go in the summer time. Jared helped YN string the lights around the pool then they stood back to look at their work.
Jensen whistled to get their attention, "Projector still works! What should we put on?"
Lilly, Jensen and YN's oldest daughter, shouted from the pool, "Daddy, you should put on Trolls: World Tour!"
"And why that one?" he asked.
"Because we like the music!" Addie, their youngest daughter, shouted as she dived back into the pool.
YN chuckled, "Well, she's got you there, Jay. It does have some good music in it."
Jensen rolled his eyes, "Never thought I'd be spending my New Years Eve watching a Trolls movie."
YN walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist, "You also never thought you'd be having a pool party in December, love. Or that you'd be setting up a projector right now. Or that the kids wouldn't want to get out of the pool-"
"Come on, that one was a given," Jensen laughed.
"True," YN kissed his cheek, "Still, it's an unusual thing. But at least it's with my favorite person."
Jensen turned to her, "Yeah, I know. Jared's a pretty cool dude."
YN scoffed, "I meant you!"
Jensen kissed her, "Yes, I know. And I love you."
"I love you, too," YN kissed him.
"Ew!" Shep shouted from the pool, "They're kissing!"
Jared took the opportunity to jog over to Gen at the edge of the pool, "You think that's gross?"
Gen knew exactly what he was up to, "You forget, all grown-ups kiss."
Jared bent down and kiss his wife, "I love you."
She kissed his back, "I love you, too."
All the kids in the pool shouted in unison, "Ew!"

December One Shots Masterlist
The bright sun shined right in Dean's eyes as he groaned and covered his face with his arm. Thought it was annoying and not helping his pounding headache, the sun let him know it was the next day.
Slowly Dean opened his eyes and tried to take in his surroundings. He could feel the hardwood floor under him, which meant he didn't make it to his bed last night. He dropped the bottle in his hand to the ground and the sound it made let him know it was empty.
The weirdest part of all was the strange weight that was on his chest and stomach. He couldn't figure out what it was and moving any part of his body at the moment was the biggest struggle.
It wasn't until he heard a female's whimper that his brain was finally putting the pieces together. He sat up at looked at the sleeping girl laying on his chest. Her hair covered her face, so he couldn't tell who it was.
Then again who did he even bring home from the bar?
Dean reached up and shook the girl's shoulder, "Hey, wake up."
She moaned as she sat up and rubbed her eyes, "Mmm, what?"
The girl blinked a few times before her eyes landed on Dean. His eyes widened as he looked at the girl. He had no memory of who she was or how she had got to the Bunker.
But for the moment, he was happy she was there.
"What's...what's going on?" she mumbled.
Dean chuckled, "I guess we, uh, passed out? Honestly though I can't remember a thing."
"Me either," she looked around, "And I don't exactly know where we are."
"This is the Bunker. Technically it's my home. Don't worry though, you're safe here," he reassured her.
She smiled, "Good to know."
Dean cleared his throat, "You're probably not going to like my next question, but since I have no memory at the moment-"
"YN. My name is YN," she blushed, "And you are?"
"Dean," he lifted his hand, "Dean Winchester."
YN shook his hand and smiled, "Nice to meet you."
"By the way, YN, do you, uh, mind getting off me?" Dean asked.
YN's eyes widened, "Oh, yeah," she climbed off of him, "Sorry."
"It's okay," Dean sat up and held his head, "Man, my head is killing me."
"Mine too," YN agreed, "You have any pain killers?"
Dean nodded, "Yeah, but it's probably not a good idea on an empty stomach," he stood from the floor," You hungry?"
"Not particularly, but I should probably eat something," YN said as she stood.
"How do you like your eggs?" he asked while walking into the kitchen.
YN shrugged and followed him, "It doesn't matter to me."
Dean pointed down the hallway, "The shower is just down the hallway if you want to rinse off. Then again you probably aren't too comfortable showering in a stranger's home."
YN chuckled, "I mean we're not complete strangers. We did meet at a bar last night. Though I don't really remember much after taking alphabet shots."
"Alphabet shots?" Dean asked.
"Yeah. It's shots of alcohol in the order of the alphabet. You start with Afterburner, then Buttery Nipple, then Cement Mixer, then-"
"Wait, wait, wait. Are you saying you took 26 shots last night before we even ran into each other?"
"Oh hell no. I got to a Oil Slick shot and don't remember anything past that."
Dean laughed, "Well, a girl that can take 15 shots of alcohol that quickly is a girl after my own heart. I'm just surprised you never puked."
YN crossed her arms and stared at Dean, "Ever heard of a puke and rally?"
"Where you vomit and then continue drinking?" he asked.
"Exactly. I didn't become the party queen in college by being a quitter," YN winked.
Dean turned to her, "Oh, a college girl?"
"Mhmm, double major in English and Journalism."
"So that means you're...22?"
"Don't flatter me, Winchester. I'm 29."
Dean's eyes widened, "You look really good for your age."
"As do you. You're, what, 35?" YN asked.
He shook his head, "42 actually."
"There's no way. You're 42 and you can party?" YN said in shock.
"You're never to old to learn a new trick, YN," Dean winked.
YN smirked and pointed down the hallway, "Well, uh, I guess I'm going to go rinse off."
"My bedroom is right across from the bathroom. Feel free to grab a pair of sweats or something so you're more comfortable."
"Thanks," she blushed, "You know, Dean, I don't really remember last night all that much. But you must have said something that convinced me to come home with you."
Dean cracked a few eggs in a bowl, "I probably just used some cheesy pick-up line like I always do."
YN walked into the kitchen and over to Dean, "Well, whatever you said," she kissed his cheek, "I'm glad you said it."
A blush fell on Dean's cheeks, "O-oh yeah?"
"Yeah," YN walked towards the hallway, "Oh, and Dean?"
"Yes, YN?"
She winked, "Happy New Year."
Dean watched her walk out of the kitchen and down the hallway. He smiled as he finished making breakfast for them, trying to remember how in the world he got her to come back to the Bunker with him.
"Was it something I said? Something she did? Or maybe something I did?" he mumbled to himself.
He heard footsteps walking into the kitchen, and when he turned around he almost dropped the plate in his hands.
YN stood there in the doorway with a towel wrapped around her body, "Hey, uh, I don't exactly know how your shower works."
Dean stuttered his words, "Y-you, uh, you have to t-turn the water on and p-pull the bottom of the faucet d-down."
She smiled, "Thanks!"
As she walked away, Dean saw a tattoo on her right shoulder. An anti-possession tattoo to be exact.
"So that's why she came back with me!" Dean said out loud, "I knew she was different."
