ASTRO// I was watching a movie the other night and one of the characters offered this bit of wisdom: life isn’t interesting so you’d better figure out what you want to do to make it interesting. It’s pretty good advice and it arrived right on time as Jupiter entered Capricorn yesterday morning, where it will stay until next December when it joins with Saturn and the two move on to Aquarius simultaneously. Capricorn is not a great sign for Jupiter to express itself. Capricorn is about the realities of manifestation, meaning: all of the ramifications that come into existence once an idea is concentrated into its physical form. Jupiter usually overrides the boundaries that Saturn/Capricorn insist on, but when it’s in the sign of Capricorn with Capricorn ruler Saturn and they’re working their way toward a big conjunction Jupiter is really going to be restrained and held accountable. Fortunately Jupiter is also pretty irrepressible and while this transit may be very challenging it does not come without the abundance of opportunity which are a Jupiterian signature, it’s just that all of those new opportunities bring with them new responsibilities and additional labor. Jupiter may feel constrained in Capricorn, but it also can lighten the mood of the serious earth sign. We may have more work to do but the wind will be at our backs. Mercury begins its retrograde tomorrow and with respect to its current company we have the opportunity to break from psychological patterns around love/money and all related elements: income, debt, spending, attraction, relationships, sex —>> POWER, INTIMACY, and RESOURCES. ASTRO// By this time tomorrow Mercury will be in Scorpio and effectively moving toward opposition with Uranus (exact October 6th). Mercury Uranus aspects are brilliant, quite literally, boosting perception and intuition. Over the next three days we can expect to see an increase in communication, commerce, and overall brain activity potentially to a chaotic level (beware: potential for headaches). Later tomorrow Mars also changes signs, arriving in Libra. As the sign opposite Mars’ ruler Aries, this isn’t the most comfortable place for Mars and his naturally assertive/aggressive tendencies can cause trouble in the sign of coexistence. Put this all together (Mercury opposite Uranus with Mars in Libra) and we’ll need to take more care to be aware of how we’re communicating so as not to spark arguments. In the midst of all this madness Moon reaches first quarter square on October 5th (Moon in Capricorn square Sun in Libra) while conjunct the South Node. ASTRO// We’re most certainly in for a season of change. Starting with the recent new Moon on September 28th we have 3 consecutive new Moons is perfect aspect to Uranus. Seriously, this is remarkable: September 28th Sun and Moon will be conjunct/new at 5 Libra with Uranus at 5 Taurus. This aspect is called quincunx, the planets are 150 degrees apart. The first quincunx precludes the coming opposition. It’s a minor aspect, which just means that it doesn’t cause as much commotion as a major aspect like the opposition it hints at. The opening quincunx will alert us to the themes of the opposition. The second aspect in this series is Sun and Moon conjunct/new at 4 Scorpio opposite Uranus at 4 Taurus on October 27th. This is really the main event. This is BOTH luminaries (key, life sustaining planets) simultaneously in major, reactive aspect to a very powerful outer planet. This is both personal and collective, all at once. The third Moon will be on November 26th with Sun Moon at 3 Sagittarius in a closing quincunx to Uranus at 3 Taurus. ASTRO// I’m going to put it down to the stirring of the incoming Uranian Autumn (I’ll work on a better name...) but suddenly there’s a deluge of information I want to share. I don’t want to define too concisely this chart as I believe in allowing people some privacy and especially a young person who is still growing and becoming and discovering who they are, but there is plenty we already know which can be matched with the aspects in the chart. Greta Thunberg has emerged as our real life hero of the real life apocalypse. Her birth chart (time unknown) has Chiron conjunct Sun in Capricorn, Moon in Capricorn (widely conjunct). (Ascendant unknown due to missing birth time.) Chiron/Sun is a person who is born with an innate wound to the selfhood and also born to provide healing. This aspect easily relates to her being neurodiverse (Aspergers, autism spectrum) and her understanding of it as a super power. I couldn’t agree more with that statement, it seems that many of the qualities associated are very similar to the qualities of a highly-sensitive-person (hsp), which also are very similar to clairsentience. For all we know they are all essentially the same thing. Greta has quite a few outer planet aspects: her Uranus is trine Saturn and opposite Jupiter, her Pluto is trine Jupiter and opposite Saturn. ASTRO// We’re on the other side of the Pisces full Moon, concluding two weeks of Neptunian haze, and now Saturn is stationing direct until Wednesday. Neptune and Saturn are about as different as two planets can get. Neptune dissolves and unifies while Saturn contracts and calcifies. In fact astrologers often site Saturn as the antidote to Neptune. Saturn is all about limitations and structure and discipline. With Saturn in its sign of rulership we can potentially have the most positive experience of his power.
