Here is a whimsical little piece based on a rough pencil sketch from long ago! When I moved, I flipped through a couple of old sketchbooks as I packed them and saw this doodle. TBH, I’m not as great at maintaining a sketchbook as I would like, and what I do draw, I don’t often share. But this sketch was one that I really liked. Therefore, I finally did a digital draw over of it to turn it into a new illustration!

I hope you like her! I think she is cute and probably quite mischievous. Be careful what you wish for! __________

Gratitude

I started this piece just before Thanksgiving with the theme of gratitude on my mind. (Yes, I’m very behind in uploading my backlog of art publicly 🫣)

Even though there have been challenges, and the 2024 started off rocky for me, I still look back at it and feel incredibly lucky and grateful, especially in relation to how things have gone with chasing this crazy art dream.

I feel so thankful for every bit of support from you guys and especially from my patrons! You really don’t know how much of an impact it makes on my life, what I’m able to create, and how honored I am to have you here for however long you decide to stay. I wish I could better express in words the overwhelming gratitude that I feel when I think about each individual person who appreciates my work enough to support it.

Nothing I can type really does the feeling justice! So, I’ll just say thank you again and share this piece with you!

In the breath of twilight, dark meets light. 

This is one of my entris for our Faebruary Challenge that hosted for students on Patreon! I decided to go with the prompt ‘romance’ for this one. I didn’t have specific characters in mind as I started working but let them develop as I worked. Perhaps a fairy princess meeting up with the crow prince. As a side note, I love the texture on this piece! Anyhoo, I hope you like them!

I don’t know about you, but I freaking love when there is some sort of masquerade in a fantasy book, game, move, you name it! I feel like it is always such a fun and glamourous setting with an air of mystery for the story to unfold!

Slumber of Venus Under a sky of pink and gold, the gentle waves of the ocean washed the goddess made of seafoam upon the sandy shore. Pearls of salty sea trailed down her glowing skin, and her hair, spun from the blush of dawn, cascaded in waves, mingling with the tide. Her sigh mixed with the soft hush of the sea as she rolled over, the goddess of love and beauty awakening to the world.

What's this? a little bookish fanart? Don't mind if I do!

I reread Fourth Wing and I remembered my desire to start sprinkling in a little bit more bookish artwork here and there. So here is Violet and Xaiden from Fourth Wing. Just a fun portrait of them together with a decorative flame with dragon designs, violets and a lightning storm in the background.

It can be a little tricky to create artwork for book characters because we all have our own visions of what they look like, but I hope you like it!
