i havent made many posts here and for that im sorry! but i am still an advocate, im still disabled, im still living. that wont change.
ive gotten mobility aids and i am actively fighting with my doctors and school to be allowed to use them as well as the elevator permanently, for the rest of my school years. my family and friends are all aware of everything going on with me and have done a lot to accommodate and help, special thanks to my sweet boy @connorslittleboyfriend for going the extra mile constantly.
since it is december, after the election [i live in the u.s], i will be political. i will be speaking out. if you dont like that, please leave.
i love you all.❤️

this means so much to me.
dear parents, if your child has "seemed fine this entire time" but is now seeking out diagnoses, mobility aids, medical help, more doctors, and is sharing their pain more. do not fucking shut them down? even if it ends up being nothing, showing them that support through all of that will seriously help them. if it ends up being something and you're a bitch to them, the joke will be on you and that strain on your relationship will never go away because. you didn't listen.
listen to kids. we tell you what we need, it's not that hard.

What the actual fuck.
For context; my physical therapist has been recommending I use mobility aids for a long time now, and my parents are starting to be more open to the idea, hesitant yes, but they’re listening now it’s coming from a medical professional. Well, my physical therapist has been recommending I use forearm crutches because they’d give me more support, to which my parents looked at me and said no, why? Because they’d make me seem “too disabled.” This is being recommended by a physical therapist, who is saying this because I am disabled, and they are totally denying it. I will likely be using a cane instead, despite the fact it will not provide me as much support as I need, it will still aid me to an extent.
So, parents, listen to me. When your PHYSICALLY DISABLED CHILD who’s health is WORSENING along with their mobility’s literal PHYSICAL THERAPIST tells you they need a certain mobility aid, DO NOT FUCKING CHERRY PICK WHAT THEY ARE SUGGESTING AND DENY MEDICAL ADVICE.

it shouldn't be a controversial take but:
disabled people are allowed to hate being disabled

Growing pains aren’t constant for four years. Growing pains don’t exist when I’m not growing. Exercising hurts. Stretching hurts. Doing these will not make it better. I’m not overreacting. I need to go to the doctor. This cannot wait another year. I feel like I’m constantly dying.
@ my parents
#i used to tell myself it was just growing pains to gaslight myself#or brush it all off#but what we go through isn't normal.#you need to go to the doctors#i hope they figure that out soon.
