It was insanely foggy and I didn’t notice the dust on my lens until it was too late BUT we got to see a pair of bald eagles. I had been seeing reports of a bald eagle nearby on eBird, so I packed up my camera and binoculars and drove up there a few days ago, because it was my only free day. Once I saw how foggy it is, I lost hope. But I still wanted to try. As I was walking through the parking lot, I saw a large black bird in the tree next to me. I assumed it was a vulture but I quickly noticed the white head. It was indeed the bald eagle! After a few minutes, a SECOND bald eagle swoop onto the tree. I was freaking out at this point. They greeted each other, which is always so awesome to hear.

I’ll definitely be going back when it’s less foggy and when I’m actually prepared..

Burrowing owls (Athene cunicularia) have been stopping by for migration! A lot of parks where they’re known to reside have dedicated areas for them.

The local park seems to attract domesticated waterfoul. These are known “escapees”, as in most cases, they flew away from whatever farm or backyard they were living in. There are 4 resident domestic ducks, a Muscovy/barbary duck, and a domestic greylag x Canada goose hybrid. They seem to be thriving and are well known by the locals.

marah @freepaleatine95 is a young woman in gaza and she and her family need our help. marah was studying computer science before the occupation destroyed her dreams, and now she is displaced in a flimsy shelter with her family, where they struggle to provide themselves with even basic necessities.

i humbly ask you to consider donating to marah and her family so that they may be able to procure food, water, medicine and better shelter for themselves as winter approaches. these funds are being used not only for marah's immediate family including her parents, who both have diabetes and need medical attention that is not available in gaza, but also for marah's married sisters' families, which include young children.
