I wanted to draw something for Mello’s birthday and I’m only a little over two weeks late, now that’s what I call progress 😂 At first I didn’t really know what to draw and in the end I opted for a screencap redraw, I love this expression of him lmao. I decided to turn it into a little shading exercise and I experimented with different light sources, I’m really happy with how it turned out 🤗

i think it's smart how mappa cut out the river scene in part 1 cuz in that way, people wouldn't forget that Hange Zoe, the 14th Commander of the Survey Corps, is the one who saved humanity's strongest, Levi Ackerman's life.

BTW, if you haven’t already, read this book. It’s all about the “mannosphere” (incels, pickup artists, MGTOW, etc.). The audiobook narration is also good if you prefer audiobooks.
Book description:
Imagine a world in which a vast network of incels and other misogynists are able to operate, virtually undetected. These extremists commit deliberate terrorist acts against women. Vulnerable teenage boys are groomed and radicalised.
You don't have to imagine that world. You already live in it. Perhaps you didn’t know, because we don’t like to talk about it. But it’s time we start.
In this urgent and groundbreaking book, Laura Bates, bestselling author and founder of The Everyday Sexism Project, goes undercover to expose vast misogynist networks and communities. It’s a deep dive into the worldwide extremism nobody talks about.
Interviews with former members of these groups and the people fighting against them gives unique insights on how this movement operates. Ideas are spread from the darkest corners of the internet – via trolls, media and celebrities – to schools, workplaces and the corridors of power, becoming a part of our collective consciousness.
Uncensored, and sometimes both shocking and terrifying – this is the uncomfortable truth about the world we live in. And what we must do to change it.

The fact that raising a little girl as if she is a son is seen as endearing and raising a little boy as if he is a daughter is seen as abuse should tell you all you need to know about the trauma of girlhood.

Hello everybody!
This is a DN's fan theory!
During Mello and Near's confrontation at the SPK's HQ, Near thanked Mello for his help and Mello got a bit mad (😅), pointing the gun at Near and saying: "I am not a tool for you (...)"
Few months ago I read a Death Note's MelloxHalle ff based on the manga (I can't remember the title but it was utterly well written, if I'll find it out I'll link it here!)
In the fan fiction, Mello, while advancing towards Near with his gun, pushed Halle behind him, in order to get her away from the line of fire.
Since I recently re-read the manga, I just wondered if this part was an invention of the fanfiction's author or not.
In the manga at first Halle is in front of Mello, he is holding her by the arm.

When he got angry she is suddenly behind him but (it seems) he is still holding her by his right hand.

Maybe Mello just didn't want Halle to die since it was her who passed information to him? Maybe it was just a reflex action or indeed a voluntary act of "protection"?
Mello showed no regrets in killing SPK members (his own spy being among them) or in kidnapping Sayu.
But at the same time he clearly had no intention of killing Near and he was sincerely moved by Matt' death, so maybe it could be the case also with Halle
Anyway, this could be an interesting scene for the fandom's shippers !
What are your opinions?
Have a good day 😊!
