Squid Game x Star Wars AU

Obiwan is a retired ex-Japanese-American Iraq war veteran who lives his retirement in South Korea who accumulated a lot of debt from his drinking + legal difficulties from drinking to the point if he doesn’t pay his legal fees, he will face extensive jail time, lose legal immigration status, and be deported either to America or Japan based on his ethnicity / original nationality. He has few ties to Japan and even fewer ties to America. He was an American citizen based on birth right, but he’s sure that they would revoke his birth right since he was born to undocumented immigrants on US soil. He can speak fluent English & Japanese. He knows enough Korean to get by.

Padme, an Indian foreign exchange student who was studying in Korea for economics and political science. Went to the same university as Anakin. Born to a single father who is middle class but enough to get his daughter by. He falls ill with something treatable that costs a fortune to stabilize him, but will be terminal if he doesn’t receive the heart transplant he needs.

Anakin is a white American who was born to American-Korean ambassador single mother so he is fluent in both Korean and English. He spent ten years of his childhood in Seoul and the next ten years of his adolescence in New York. He had a tendency to get roped into legal situations in New York for his drug use, public disturbances, thrill seeking behaviors, and his mother always had enough money to bail him out. She sent him to a university in Seoul abroad to study based on his wishes. He was a gifted student and had high marks in the university there, but he had no high aspirations for his career. The pressure of being a foreign exchange student who was aimless caused him to relapse on negative behaviors. He got roped into human trafficking to pay off debts in Seoul after pissing off a bunch of loan sharks and he escaped from it and was in massive amounts of debt
