My Rook, Evrel de Riva
I have a lot of thoughts on this game. Finished all companion quests and have romanced Emmrich, and it all feels sadly mediocre. The role playing aspects are unfulfilling and linear and it feels as though there is no real punishments for bad decisions and theres even hardly any chances for bad decisions, let alone being mean once in a while.
It feels written in that your character is to be played a certain way and you have to get along with everyone and stay your course, but that leaves it feeling very lacklustre in personality.
The romance is carried by the companion quests, as theres no real in between chances for bonding with a companion, and no scenes to rectify your relationships until those companion quests come along. It drags and it underwhelms, not to mention the ‘sex scenes’ towards the end all happen at the same exact moment no matter who you romance. It once again lacks personality and originality in doing so and the replay-ability therefor loses most value for me. I feel like i have not missed much of anything from one playthrough alone.
Its not awful, but its a disappointment. Started so strong and lost its way in my eyes.
