SVSSS Peaks
I was rereading the seven seas ver of svsss book 4 and in the bingge vs bingmei extra there is a mention of a peak called Tu Ding Peak, but I have never seen it mentioned anywhere like in fandom or fics or anything really. I went searching online but found nothing. I was under the impression that there were 9 named peaks and three unnamed ones but idk man
Here’s what I do know of the nine named peaks (or at least their names with no specific order in seniority)
-Qiong Ding
-Qing Jing
-Wan Jian
-An Ding
-Qian Cao
-Xian Shu
-Bai Zhan
-Ku Qing
-Zu Xian
-Tu Ding (the now apparent tenth named peak)
Ofc what these peaks specialize are always confusing
Because I’ve seen people have Ku Qing, who specialize in ascetic cultivation, do talismans, or have a completely separate peak do those.
Xian Shu’s cultivation or specialization is never specified in canon (that I can tell) or in most fics.
The fandom loves to see Zu Xian as a bunch of drunks (all jokes) but I’ve always thought of them as like an apothecary/maybe alchemy peak of sorts. Like yeah Qian Cao does medical research and healing but Zu Xian sources most of its medicine and other elixirs. Basically they’re witches brewing their little potions in their cauldrons. And make wine occasionally.
Everyone always has An Ding be the peaks in charge of the repairs which goes with their whole like ‘glorified servants’ reputation, but they mainly do logistics/running a sect.
Personally, I’ve always thought that maybe one of the other unnamed peaks could be one that does all the repairs since they specializes in architecture/engineering?? Idk how to put it into words, but think like the work and effort it must get put into creating/building a temple or a mausoleum or something else like for example the mingshi in mdzs where they try to cleanse the arm in book 1. Sure maybe they aren’t building new buildings 24/7 but they do need to be maintained constantly.
But yeah that’s all I got for now. Maybe I’ll put some more info on here as I find out more. If anyone has more info or like headcanons about the peaks I’d love to know :)

I know we love to have mianmian shipped with other women or even other men, but can we please stop with the mr. mianmian erasure :(
This man left his comfortable life living as a merchant to go wander around with his rogue cultivator wife and his daughter. He’s not a cultivator he’s just a guy!! But he does it cause he loves his wife and we need to stan him more.
Also, he’s not even jealous or insecure about the fact that he can’t cultivate. He just stands back and lets his awesome wife take care of it like the true feminist king he is.

ah yes, a low birth street rat orphan boy gets taken in by a powerful and cruel master, for the sole purpose of being abused and broken, like a toy or a piece of property. The boy then takes his revenge by killing his master and burning down his home and later on becomes a powerful and cruel master who takes in a low birth street-rat orphan boy for the sole purpose of being abused and broken, like a toy or a piece of property. YOUR TAGS?? DID YOU AT LEAST KISS THE BRICK BEFORE THROWING IT AT ME???
I know it was like part of the character design or product marketability or something something— but the fact that in the donghua, manhua and the official art jc eyes are grey and not purple always gets to me and not in a good way.
Because like it is said time and time again that jiang cheng looks and acts like a mini violet spider, and you can see the resemblance, not that you can't, but you know who had grey eyes? Jiang Fengmian.
And also because Jiang Yanli is said to resemble and emulate her father more in terms of temperament and like if you look at her she does look a lot like Jiang Fengmian. Eyes and all.
the fact that jiang cheng has this tiny sliver of his father reflect in himself, and yet it is never enough for Jiang Fengmian looking into his son's eyes, the very windows of his soul. He won't and/or refuses to acknowledge him having some part of him. Instead it is easier to call him his mother's child and be done wit it.
OR
i'm just blind and that is purple bc purple and grey look to similar in different lighting bc wavelength and color spectrum or whatever they teach you in chem and i have been staring at a screen for too long.
or worse
it is purple and jc has neither his parents eyes :(

Jiang Yanli was sick and tired of being seen as useless and weak. A part of her mind whispered that she could donate her core to her brother. It would probably work, she didn't need it, rarely used it, and after some time it could grow strong in her little brother. Why not use it for good? Maybe this was something she could do and no one else.
She could help her little brother; she could be strong and bear it— but Jiang Cheng would never let her do that. He would never go for it, just like he refused for A-Xian.
They sat in silence for some time, but eventually she asked, “What are we going to do now?”
Jiang Cheng sighed, “I was going to originally have Wei Wuxian be named sect leader, we could write him in the registry; but then he left and I was going to ask you but…” her little brother looked so defeated, and with great effort he continues on, “I know this is not usual but I was thinking…maybe I could still be sect leader.”
He said those last words so softly she barely caught them. Still, they took some time to sink in, and Jiang Yanli was doing nothing but staring at her brother with wide eyes.
“It’s stupid right?”
“What? No, A-Cheng I—”
“I know it’s impossible, I should probably just give you the title. I can still help out in other ways but I don’t know, I just— and I’ve been trying to figure out a way but I’ve been so busy with and—”
“A-Cheng stop. Look at me, please.”
She steeled herself, she could not be weak. Not again. They were going to do this and they were going to win . Her resolution burned in her, she stood up and grabbed onto his face with both hands and made A-Cheng look at her. His eyes shot upwards from where they had wandered off, shock coloring them, “A-jie what are you…”
“Jiang Cheng, have you learned nothing for the past sixteen years?”
Her little brother’s mouth fell slack at her harsh words, “Are you not a Jiang? Do you still not understand our clan’s motto? Yes this is impossible! This is something never done before, so perhaps congratulations are in order, because you Jiang Cheng are going to be the first leader of the Yunmeng Jiang with no core. You are going to lead us to victory, you are going to help win this war, you are going to avenge our family, and you are going to be the best sect leader the Jianghu has ever seen.”
She lets go of his face and stands straight, shoulder back, head high, just like her mother had once taught her and pressed forward, “ I will be here to help you, as your sister and now as your advisor. I will stand by your side and I will see to it that you and Yunmeng Jiang survive and if anyone has anything to say about that, then they will have to deal with all of us, myself included . Should A-Xian find a solution then that will be that, but until now, you are still sect leader, golden core or no. We are at war, I will not have anyone question us or belittle us, so do not be afraid. You are going to walk out of here with your head held high with the mantle of sect leader in the morning and I will be there— right by your side. Do you understand? ”
Okay yeah, she could have said that a bit more softer as is ‘ A-jie’s ’ typical way, but her brother did not need soft right now.
She couldn’t allow herself to drag him down. She had stood behind her brothers long enough, a delicate little thing that needed protection. How could she call herself his older sister if she couldn’t give him a shoulder to lean on in his time of need?
A-Cheng’s face had yet to return to normal, the red marks slowly fading where she had pressed his cheeks too hard. He managed to close his mouth and gulped, “You sounded like mom.”
Oh.
She did, didn't she?
Jiang Yanli supposed even she forget she was her mother’s daughter sometimes.

The worst part about losing his golden core was not the coldness that plagued him continuously, or the straining of his body was subjected to, or the injuries that refused to heal without the help of spiritual power— not even the knowledge of never drawing his sword again was the thing that plagued Jiang Cheng the most.
It was the simple fact that he kept forgetting.
It was like continuously being stabbed over and over again with the reminder of his patheticness and how utterly useless he was.
At least due to them being a large group of people, half consisting of non-cultivators, they were able to travel on horses and on foot rather than flying.
They had yet to find Wei Wuxian. It had been over five months since Wei Wuixan went missing that day in Yilling, and three since the campaign started; and no one except for a select few knew the truth about his whereabouts. Jiang Cheng had not wanted anyone poking their nose into their business and so at the conference had stated that he was out on a mission, which was technically true, except for the fact that Jiang Cheng never approved of the mission.
“Zongzhu, could you turn onto your left side?” Wen Qionglin asks tentatively, and Jiang Cheng, who had gone to lie down on the bed after getting rid of his old bandages— turned with some difficulty, the feeling of the salve cool, sticky, and gross.
Jiang Cheng thought that the healing process of the scars would be painful and difficult and while it was indeed those things, Jiang Cheng found that much like his non-existent golden core, it was the small insignificant things that bothered him the most. The god-awful itching of the scars were enough to send Jiang Cheng spiraling.
It had surprised Jiang Cheng, because he hadn’t exactly suffered any grievous injuries prior to the loss of his golden core, so he didn’t really have a point of reference to compare with. He itched constantly to the point he would often dig his nails into his skin to avoid touching the areas where the whip marks were red and tender.
After the first few times he had scratched at his scabs, it had given Wen Qionglin the confidence to berate him and tell him that if he kept scratching them then he would resort to knocking Jiang Cheng out so he wouldn’t have to feel it— and Jiang Cheng took it as the threat it was and nearly cut off Wen Qionglin’s head off.
It was awful being a mortal.

Chapter 11 is out!!!!
Summary:
After the fall of the Lotus Pier, Jiang Cheng overhears his brother-not-brother, speak with Wen Qing about the golden core transfer without the two aware he is listening in. He decides he won't let Wei Wuxian go through with it. To hell with his cultivation! He won't let Wei Wuxian cut him open like it's nothing. He chose to let himself get caught by the Wens— now he'll bear the consequences.
Thus Jiang Cheng now faces a challenge, "How will he lead a cultivation sect if he can no longer cultivate? How will he get his revenge if he can't wield a sword? Is he even worthy of becoming Jiang Zongzhu?"
This, of course, changes the trajectory of the Sunshot campaign and Wei Wuxian's involvement in demonic cultivation; for better or for worse, who knows?
(my excuse for an in-depth character study on JC and the rest of the gang) (the author is trying their best (pinky promise))

He was so engrossed in his digging, Shen Jiu missed when two looming figures stood in front of Hong Shi and him.
It was two women.
The one standing right in front of him had an untouchable aura, with grey piercing eyes that could make even an emperor feel inferior. A silver guan crowned her head, long hair cascading down alongside intricate braids. Green flowing robes patterned with various flora, a jade pendant hanging by her belt next to her sword, and a fan in her hand. Her face was unreadable, decorated in delicate makeup, a floral huadian right in the center of her eyebrows.
Shen Jiu immediately felt his insides twist with envy.
The other woman had placed herself in front of Hong Shi.
She wasn’t cold, but still held herself in a refined manner. A soft smile graced her lips, brown eyes sparkled with what might be mischief. Her clothing, a deep red hue, was more practical but just as exquisite. A gold guan held her hair, one long thick braid tossed on her shoulder. Her own sword by her side, the same jade pendant hanging on her belt.
“Well aren’t you two boys lucky?” The woman gave them a wide grin, “Having two cultivators fight over yourselves, who would have thought? Su-shijie and I had to cast lots to come to an agreement.” She turned to Hong-di, still smiling, “It seems fate has chosen you child. How would you like to become part of Xiang Yao Peak?”
Hong-di eyes lit up, and Shen Jiu knew then, the fates hated him.

yk I never understood how SY got over the fact that he died and transmigrated so fast. Like I get maybe it’s a coping mechanism but still, it’s got to come out at some point right? Like that one quote “grief will find me on a sunny day” (this is me paraphrasing said quote) and I keep thinking, wouldn’t he have a breakdown at some point? Like he has to right?? You can’t just gloss over the fact you died(!) and woke up in a strange world in a stranger’s body knowing you’re doomed and be okay for the rest of your life?
Personally I think this needs to be expanded on in more fics but that’s just me °3° (any fics with this premise would be greatly appreciated :) )
