Adding onto this post: just because someone "goes along with the joke" doesn't mean they're okay with it. With bullying it's a lot easier to just play along and pretend you're cool with something than tell people to stop because that just gives them more ammunition.

This isn't about close friends btw this is about specifically people you:

1. Don't know well

2. See only on the internet

While the original post was very much about Benson Boone, other musicians are also being harassed like this because people on TikTok have deemed them "cringe." Some of them go along with the "jokes", some of them don't, and either way if you're part of this behavior then you're part of the problem.

Just wanted to say that if you think harassing and basically bullying a musician in hopes that you'll drive them off the internet because you think they're annoying you're a bad person and aren't welcome on my blog !!

SO Benson Boone, yeah ?

I'm not on TikTok but my partner is, and recently they explained to me the "Moon beam ice cream" trend going around. If you also don't know what that is, here's a brief rundown:

Basically, the musical artist Benson Boone released a new song that's a lot like his other songs, and within the chorus of said song there's the lyric "Moon beam ice cream, taking off your blue jeans," etc etc. Apparently, TikTok collectively decided to make it a trend to mock this song and particularly this lyric. The main reasons for this are...

Benson Boone got famous off of one song

Benson Boone is an ex mormon

Benson Boone wears shiny clothes and does backflips

Summarized: "Benson Boone is insufferable"

Now, let me explain some things...

He got famous off of one song, because that's how getting famous works. Not just in the music industry, but in general. That's just how fame works. You drop one artwork that blows up, and BOOM your famous now. You can't really be mad at him for getting famous by well...getting famous how everyone else gets famous.

He's an EX mormon, as in he doesn't follow those beliefs anymore. We REALLY can't get mad at him for how his parents raised him, especially when he isn't even a mormon anymore.

He does backflips and wears flashy clothes because...they're cool ? And they're fun ?? He's having fun, and people are...mad about that ???

Summary: TikTok has collectively decided to harass and bully this musician because he's having fun, he got famous, and he grew up in a most likely strict religious household.

That sounds totally sane and normal, right ? That totally doesn't sound like something a crazy person would do, yeah ?

Yeah, no, that's absurd. You're going out of your way to humiliate and bully a man for LITERALLY NO REASON. That's not something a normal, stable person would do. If you act like that, or are just okay with that behavior, you're not a good person. You're not funny, or cute, or just silly, you're a bully and you're not welcome on my page.

Right now, famine is hitting us harder than ever, my heart cries whenever I go to the market to buy any basic necessities!
