[tw: themes of suicide
....thoughts on suicidal healer deity reader? Reader is seen as a merciful entity by those they save, but Reader - despises humanity. They're jealous these creatures are blessed with the escape of death. Reader can't break from the pain and suffering that is existing, and so they make sure everyone else knows that same torment until their bodies turn to dust. If they can't die neither can the humans until they're old and decaying. Reader is miserable and wants everyone else to be as well, but it backfires for them terribly-
-
[Reader bites their wrist, spilling their blood over the slit in the deceased human's neck]
Yan: [slowly regaining their motor functions] uhh....huh.... I'm alive?..Who...who are you?
Reader: The miserable idiot keeping people like you from dropping like flies.
Yan: You...saved me?
Reader: Saved you? I didn't do it for you. If I'm forced to be here then so are you. If only dying was as easy for me as it was for your kind. I'm sick of you all.
[Reader spits at the human - their saliva landing on the mortal's cheek and healing the small cut across it]
Reader: Pretend we never met. [walks away]
Yan: .....
Yan: ....I can fix them.
-
Reader would immediately break down sobbing if they were approached by the cult started by people they've healed

THE FIRST ONE IS DONE!!!!!
part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5
i've decided to draw references of my redesigns for the reapers :)
each one will have two parts: their human form (the most frequently used one) and their actual form (which actually shows they are dead people). i tried to incorporate my HCs for how each character died in their designs; this one is pretty clear i think!

OFMD 2 SPOILERS -
Because i am very autistic(tm) about both Hans Christian Andersen and OFMD 2 I need people to understand how much the ending of episode 3 means to me.
The Little Mermaid is a classic fairytale, a fantasy, but a tragedy. The mermaid doesn't get loved in return and instead kills herself. The story is also an allegory for homosexuality/queerness and the unrequited love it comes with as Hans himself was queer and in love unrequitedly.
When Ed tries to kill himself by throwing himself to the sea, just like the little mermaid, believing he is unloveable, in his last moments hears the love of his life, another man, begging for him and appears to him as a mermaid.
ARE WE CONNECTING THE SAME DOTS HERE???
He is reborn into a world with the man he loves with the vision of a mermaid, and the acceptance of love and hope.
I'm gonna go cry again now. Mr. Jenkins i am canonically in your WALLS.

Sherlock fandom. TW: suicide (Reichenbach feels...)
Mourning a Lost Soul
It was the last porcelain cup she had left. She’d always liked the blue and white flower pattern. Her mother and father had bought it on their honeymoon in Delft. Once there had been six plates, six saucers, six cups, and a small sugar bowl. After her parents died, she and her sister divided the items among them. Martha Hudson knew her sister still had every item intact.
Something warm fell on her wrinkled hands. Tears. She could literally hear Sherlock’s voice in her head.
“Sentiment, Hudders! How commonplace of you.”
Martha gazed down at the fractured forms at her feet. They were almost unrecognisable. Only the handle was in one piece. It was lying a bit away from the other porcelain fragments. Alone.
Again, Sherlock’s voice infiltrated her mind.
“Alone protects me.”
Her cheeks and hands were wet with the spilling tears she no longer could keep at bay. It was her fault that the cup had broken. She washed it after her morning tea, and it had slipped out of her hands as the events of yesterday hit her full force.
John’s ashen face. His blank expression. The impassive voice when he told her about Sherlock’s suicide. He was still in shock. They sat in her kitchen without saying a word, until John patted her arm and climbed the stairs to 221B.
Martha was sobbing, her throat constricted by a painful lump, but she didn’t feel a thing when the shards from the broken porcelain cut her palms and fingers.
“My darling boy. How could you do this to him?” she whispered hoarsely.
She made a mental note to hide John’s gun later.
“Don’t you understand that this will destroy him? What does he have to live for when you are gone?”
Her voice was angry now, scolding the man she loved like a son. She’d never met Sherlock’s parents and he rarely spoke of them, but Martha guessed that they were even more devasted than she was.
Her thoughts went back to yesterday again.
Greg Lestrade confirmed John’s statement. He didn’t look as ashen as John, but it was a near thing. The DI had after all saved Sherlock’s life once. The determination to save John’s life, was heavily implied.
When she finally got rid of the concerned police officer – she was no fragile flower petal, mind you – she made some calls, while her mind was still able to function properly.
Her former employer heard the news from Mycroft Holmes but had nothing more to add. With a deep sigh she called Sherlock’s brother. The man she had quite conflicted feelings about. With one word, spoken in the softest voice she’d ever heard him use, he broke her: “Martha.”
She hung up before he could realise the state she was in. After she’d turned off her mobile, she cried until her eyes were sore.
At Sherlock’s funeral, she asked to have a moment alone by the grave. Before the coffin was covered with earth, she strewed the remains of the Delft cup into the dark hole.
“Farewell, my darling boy. I hope you are at peace. We’ll all take care of John for you.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sorry if I hurt you. Feel free to yell and pour your heart out. The urge to explore how Mrs. Hudson received the devastating news, was too overwhelming to ignore, I'm afraid.

as somebody who has been (and remains) suicidal, I think Love For Love's Sake was written for me specifically, in the same way The Eighth Sense was.
I have no desire to speculate over the game mechanisms or what was real and what wasn't and who his sunbae *really* was because that's not the point. It's not about that, it's about the fact that suicidal people deserve compassion. It's about the fact that small acts of kindness can change everything. It's about the crushing pain of feeling left behind by everybody in your life and rejected by the people you want love from the most.
Being a human being is hard. It's harder when you have trauma. When you're mentally ill. When you're neurodivergent. When you're queer. All of those things separate you from the people around you in small, indefinable ways, and it can and will ruin your life if you let it (and even if you don't let it, sometimes it will do it anyway). I don't know about the rest of y'all but I'm in constant danger of becoming Tae Myungha. So I have no interest in exploring whether or not the ending is "real" or what made it happen, because that's not the point.
Tae Myungha entered the game broken and alone and was given a chance to make somebody else feel less like he did and he took it because he CARED. Because he had that capacity for love and strength for other people, but he couldn't find it for himself. The game made him confront that fact until he reached a point where he could actually allow himself to want things again. To want love and companionship and to feel like he *deserved* those things, because even though it's not about whether you deserve it or not, it's difficult not to feel that way. The game, and his sunbae, over and over again just wanted him to open himself up to being taken care of after leaving a life where nobody took care of him. It's tragic and beautiful and full of hope despite it all, and yeah it's morbid, but as somebody who has been where Myungha is, it also just feels very... normal. Struggling like that. Drowning under the weight of it all. The hard part is continuing even when all you want to do is give up, but this story is trying to tell us that it's worth looking for one more bright spot, trusting one more person, believing in yourself one more time.
Learning to receive love is just as important as your willingness to give it.
THAT is the point.

Lovely Runner Timeline Overlap

Timeline 2 (high school time jump 1) - Sun-jae spends a very strange 2 months being followed around by Im Sol who then suddenly rejects him, Im Sol is paralyzed, Sun-jae feels so guilty about it he eventually commits suicide
Timeline 3 (high school time jump 2) - Sun-jae spends a very strange 2 months being followed around by Im Sol who then suddenly rejects him, Sol is suddenly interested in him again but then rejects him, he successfully saves Sol from the kidnapper one year later, meets Sol again in 2023 and is stabbed
Timeline 4 (college time jump) - Sun-jae spends a very strange 2 months being followed around by Im Sol who then suddenly rejects him, Sol is suddenly interested in him again but then rejects him, they start dating and Sun-jae learns that Sol is a time traveller, he is stabbed
Timeline 5 (high school time jump 3) - Sol prevents herself from ever meeting Sun-jae, they meet again in 2023 and the kidnapper is finally defeated
The Math: They were 19 years old when Im Sol made the first change. Assuming they have memories of every single timeline for 15 years following, both Sol & Sun-jae are mentally... 94 years old. No wonder Sun-jae can't figure out what timeline he's living in!

[Suicidal Darling, bit of a vent text post ig]
[Yan makes sure nobody is peeking through their windows as they pull Friendly Darling's phone from their pocket]
Yan: I can't believe they left this out in the open! There isn't even a password.. Where should I look first.... Their search history is a good start. They probably spend all day searching for.....huh?...
"What's the point of being alive."
"How to disappear without a trace."
"How to cover marks with makeup."
"Why am I such a coward."
"Painless ways to k*** myself."
Yan: ......

[Darling wakes to a strange sound in the corner of their room. They sit up in bed to find Yan stuffing their entire wardrobe into duffle bags - cheeks glistening in the moonlight from their tears]
Darling: Ah! What are you doing in my-
Yan: I'M NOT LETTING YOU LEAVE ME! I'M TAKING YOU HOME WHERE YOU'LL NEVER LEAVE MY SIDE AGAIN!

So apparently a Hazbin fan committed suicide and people are actively suppressing discussions about it cuz it makes Viv look bad and "Viv gets death threats all the time!".....
Fuck this fandom.

what do you think would have been the most personally tragic (plausible) outcomes for each of the heroines?
Catherine Morland - She was somehow forced to ride in John Thorpe's gig for a third time.
Now I'll be serious. I refuse to imagine my dear Catherine in a tragedy.
Marianne Dashwood - Willoughby seduces her and she ends up pregnant and ruined. I've written this, twice. Also, she could have died from her fever
Elinor Dashwood - Edward marries Lucy Steele, she ends up resigning herself to a prudent but loveless marriage or never leaves home, occasionally hearing through her family that Edward is completely miserable
Elizabeth Bennet - marries someone she doesn't really respect and becomes a female version of her father
Jane Bennet - never gets over Bingley, eventually settles for a loveless marriage and it kills her inside
Fanny Price - Edmund marries Mary Crawford and Fanny watches in silent agony as she destroys Edmund's (weak) moral core and he becomes an entirely different person. William's ship is lost and Fanny never hears from him again
Emma Woodhouse - kind of cheating since it's in the book: Mr. Knightley does fall in love with Harriet Smith and stops coming to Hartfield as often, leaving Emma loveless and lonely
Anne Elliot - Captain Wentworth marries Louisa Musgrove out of duty, he also realizes his love for Anne but sees no way out. Anne remains within his sphere through her connection to the Musgrove family, she is aware that he loves her but there is nothing either of them can do about it. After a few years and two children, Wentworth confesses and Anne is forced to remove herself to the house of a distant family member. She eventually marries and Wentworth takes on more and more risks as a naval officer, leading to his ship being destroyed and his entire crew dying. He survives and feels so guilty that he eventually hangs himself, leaving his disillusioned wife and kids to fend for themselves (don't worry, Louisa has a great family and a good fortune).
Lady Susan - Sir James refuses to die and escapes all of her attempts like a clueless cartoon character who cannot be killed. Her daughter is also widely reported to be more beautiful than her.

Imagine this:
A young woman is told by her family to follow the instructions of a powerful older man for her own personal growth. They say it is because she has committed an ethical breach by being attracted to and kissing another man. She is asked invasive questions about her sex life and told to atone for her 'outrageous and self-destructive ways'. Her family is instructed to take away 'indulgences' and to ignore her pleas for help.
She is confined to a house until she follows through with a plan to heal the breach. She has frequent sexual contact with the man in charge of her care. Though she is not locked inside, threat of deportation leaves her effectively trapped. She becomes hopeless and suicidal, believing there is no way to undo the damage she's accused of, and will be trapped for the rest of her life unless she complies.
This is not about Nesta Archeron. This is the real life story of Daniela, a woman who was victimized by convicted felon Keith Rainere and his sex-trafficking disguised as self-help organization NXIVM. But the fact that they sound so similar makes me so fucking worried that these books are marketed to an audience of young femme readers.
