I made a wish at GoS

If anyone is interested, I made a wish at GoS - I'm looking for somebody willing to convert TS4 Life & Death ghost outfits and maybe the black dress with elbows-long sleeves listed as the first dress in @mdpthatsme's TS4 conversion archive.

I'll also be eyeing TS4 Enchanted by nature fairy outfits conversions once the pack gets released. 👀

Greener Shores

Welcome to Greener Shores!

I have long been searching for a Lush Terrain to reflect the setting of my story that takes place in heavily Celtic influenced lands. Many came close, but none truly gave me the feel I was looking for, so after long last, I finally made one myself.

During my search for the perfect grass, I often wondered why most Lush replacements used the same texture for all elevations, and well... HOLY SEAMS, BATMAN! (Particularly on the Veronaville Map) Luckily, I was able to find a family of textures that make the seams virtually unseen!

Witcher Mud Roads DR Tweak:

I love Beryllium's Witcher Roads and undeveloped look and feel they add, so I just had to use them against my new terrain. The textures remain 512x512, but have been sharpened a touch to help eliminate the slight bluriness of the originals. Both Grassy & Snowy versions have been touched up and included as separate packages within the Zip. The Road Piece add-on recolors have also been updated in the same way. Please remove Bery's original Witcher Road & Pieces before using my edits, as the file names have been changed.

Along with the transparent road for warm seasons, I have done some Heavy Snow recolors. For whatever reason, Maxis chose for the road to only retain a light dusting when in Lot View, Live Mode. To me, this just looks silly! I am currently using Criquette's Rural Charm Winter Textures and have based the snowy textures around this. Unfortunately, the winter roads and pieces do get pretty seams-y, but it's better than nothing.

I may eventually revisit winter textures. Until then, enjoy!

The Sunken Vale

After a long absence from Creating and Simming in general due to many life circumstances, I am back and ready to recreate the land of the story that continues to live in my head.

After my Annual watch of the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, I have decided that my world could definately use some more fantasy races; starting out with Dwarves. They are not really known as a surface dwelling race in most Lore, much preferring the hills and caves of the world where they can more easily dig for the coveted precious ores and gems.

I have replaced the game's Concrete Terrain to be more Cave like, or Under the Mountain. Perhaps your Dwarves are from Erebor, The Underrealm or travel The Deep Roads. This terrain is rocky with beautiful crags of arcane essence breaking through. I have also replaced the Roads to be a simple rock-hewn cobblestone path.

And Now for Something Completely Different…

After coming back into contact with Stas, Sunni's widower, the plans for the Keep have changed. Disregard most of what was posted above.

We WILL be remaining open for the foreseeable future, accepting both new members and new content. The site will remain a historical- and fantasy-focused Sims 2 forum.

Going forward, the Keep will be managed by a "Regency Council" instead of just one Regent. This will consist of PBK moderators CelestialSpider, Davina Ojeda, and rugrat0ne, as well as Discord moderators Fire_flower and Sonikku3.

Fractured Moonlight will be stepping back into something of a "silent partner" role so she can focus on creating. We thank her for her years of service running the Keep all by herself, especially out of the blue. We know it was not easy.

We are already establishing better lines of communication with Stas in hopes of avoiding the annual early March panic, and reminders have been set for February fundraising.

There will be annual fundraisers on GoFundMe or similar sites to offset the cost, and to provide more transparency than we've been able to provide in the past.

Meanwhile, archiving efforts will continue until the site is fully backed up, as a failsafe. We will also periodically archive new content in the future.

Many, many thanks to those who pitched in on the archiving project, to those who donated, in this year and previous ones, and to everyone who supported and continues to support Plumb Bob Keep.

Regarding the Future of the Keep

Due to many factors, not just financial, and after careful consideration, it has been decided that Plumb Bob Keep will close its doors on March 1, 2024.

This extra year has been given to us so we can properly archive the site and ensure that the content is still accessible. We will be launching a kickstarter or similar donation drive to repay Stas, Sunni's widower, for this bonus year.

The staff of PBK would like to thank the community as a whole for their amazing creations over the years, the way you all pulled together to help archive the site, and the comraderie and friendship that we have shared as historical simmers.

Looking forward, there are ideas in the works for a new, "spinoff" site where we can continue to host downloads, and the Discord will go on as well, possibly under a new name. We hope many, if not all of you, will make this transition with us.

Thank you again for 12 wonderful years of simming, and for proving that there was definitely enough interest for a forum dedicated to medieval and other historical content!

Archiving the Keep

As some of you may have noticed, the Plumb Bob Keep site has been down for several days. At this time, we do not know anything about the future of the site; we have no contact with Sunni's family, who pay for it. Since the future of the site is uncertain, we are calling for all hands on deck to help us try to archive as much of the downloads as possible: images, text, links and actual download zips. We will primarily be using the Wayback Machine, but as Google searching was only turned on in the last year, many things will not be accessible. Fire_flower has created a spreadsheet to help organize the effort and allow us to see where the gaps are. This will be step one of the process, before we dive into our personal collections.

If you would like to help out, please add your name to the spreadsheet linked below. Large sections might need 2 or more people to team up. Why is the Plumbob Keep closed for absolutely no good reason, and also has the message "Go away or we shall taunt you a second time" when you go to the register button?" Seem like a bunch of jerks.

I’m not sure when this message was sent, Tumblr is crap at giving me notifications.

I am not a Mod at PBK, so I am unsure why registration would be closed. The message is obviously a reference to Monty Python & The Holy Grail. If you are continuing to have problems creating a PBK account try contacting @fracturedmoonlight
