Some few unpopular anime opinions
Tumblr media
If you're as chronically online as i am there may be a few opinions that you might agree with.
Warning: typos ahead bc i did not spell check
So let's get straight into it.
Anyone who has demon slayer as their favourite anime is valid and y'all nees to stop hating on anime just because it is mainstream. You're not special or better than anyone and this comes from someone who watches slice of life and isekai for fun. I've seen my fair share of anime and demon slayer is a decent shonen.
Shonen anime needs to stop with these war/genocide themes.
Fire force, Jujutsu kaisen, Attack on titan, kaiju no.8, Chansaw man. Demon slayer Ect.. all these anime have 3 things in common. It's about either war, genocide, or a combination of both. I understand that it's the easiest and most recognisable route to go if you want to have a Hero in your story. But anime's like jojobizzareadventure for example don't need war or saving humanity as a whole as a driving point for their plot. (Ignoring part 2 and 6)
Whoever is in charge of great pretender is one big fat racist for not continuing with a 3rd season. This is the first time we get a black love intrest and just when she gets revealed the show gets cancelled? Unbelievable!
Slice of life & romance anime is fun and idc what people have to say about it.
Listen, our lives are shit and this is good escapism! Who wouldn't want to watch someone go through their regular day and have their biggest quest be a trip to the grocery store or their hardest task being deciding what they are gonna wear tomorrow. Our real lives are like that too. I bet you that anyone who watches anime and is a full time student or worker. Apart from maybe exciting weekends or evening outs. We do live are lives rather simply. And what's wrong with watching someone else live their lives. It's even better when its romance because you get to root for a likeable couple and live vicariously through them.
My hero fell off
I don't need to go to deep into this. I really liked the series. I loved Kirishima's ark. And I literally have aizawa as a widget on my phone but if you need 6 seasons for character devolopment for your MC who's been on a losing streak since the very first episode. Then you and your writing team need a good and long meeting about compelling story telling.
Requiem of the rose king
At the beginning of the story I really felt bad for richard because everyone was treating him like shit just because he's intersexual. But near the end of the story he kind of proved his mothers point by killing literally everyone that he loved.
This is the most daring manga I've ever read and idk if i shoukd feel ashamed that it's my first fully completed series but to be fair I bought it bc of the art style and i kept reading because of the messy family drama.
The pedo stuff and the incest stuff is just... yikes.
Overal a good series really nails the head on old English aesthetic. Still not better than black butler though
Everyone is fruity asf
I ship everyone in vanitias no carte and so should you.
Anyone in the fandom knows about the canon and fanon ships. The canon ships have written chemistry and sometimes the chemistry is valid. However the obvious gae undertones are hard to ignore and so I understand the fandoms discourse. HOWEVER it's not an excuse to hate or dismiss the hetero ships. I do not want a repetition of the mess that is the jojo fandom where every hetero ship just gets flushed down the toilet as if they don't exist. With that being said i ship vanitas and Jeanne and there is nothing you can do about it.
I'll never forgive araki for what he did to gappy and yasuho
You can not have the first female jobro have this much chemistry with the main jojo and not have them end up as a couple. The ending of jojolion will be on my mind till i die because the way i cried ugly tears because i was anticipating a kiss or at least a freaking hug. I am sad and my faith in love haa left along with the last chapter of jojolion.
For now this it i sure have a lot more to say but this thread would get too long. If anyone has actually read this what is wrong with you lmao go outside.

Why Death the kid has a point.
Tumblr media
Recently, I have been re-watching Soul Eater. I remember liking it very much when i was younger. And one character i liked in particular was Death the Kid. His character design and funny, lavish moments entertained me throughout the series. From a surface-level standpoint, you might think that's all there is to his character: someone who is obsessed with symmetry.
However, after watching episodes 15 and 16, during the fight between Kid and Crona on the ship (the dragon), Kid's reasoning for his obsession with symmetry became very clear. He states the following: "I do not deny evil, nor do I deny the fact that no human is completely free of malice. Everything must be in balance. As long as evil and good maintain equal liberty in this world, there is no problem. Perfect balance is the key to everything."
Whether you agree with him or not, he doesn't care. Throughout the series, he fights to create that world. I think that his desire for a balance between good and evil in this world fits perfectly with his title as the grim reaper. Grim reapers are originally entities that take souls from people. whether they are good or bad. When it's time to die, they have to go. Grim reapers don't play favorites. They also don't go against their orders.
This statement made me realize that his idealistic vision of the world being balanced ties back into his obsession with symmetry. Although executed in a funny way for the sake of comedy, since it's still a shōnen anime. I do think that it's a great way to portray his character. You do see the disadvantages of kids' obsession with symmetry. He tends to lose some fights or get distracted over it.
This was just a short observation. until next time!

This is going to be the messiest blog so please bear with me...
Tumblr media
Okay so i recently completed reading reqiem of the rose king. I do want to say that for a manga that captivated my interest based on how pretty the characters were drawn i did not expect to go down this hyper fixated rabit hole and the hard core LORE that this manga has to offer.
From characters to the story-telling everything is a drama filled tragedy sprinkled with a lot of horny-ness and heartbreak.... and death. And betrayal...
Let's just say that the story reqiem of the rose king that is loosely based on the Shakespearean plays Henry VI, Part 3 and Richard III, is a historical rollecoaster. The series follows an intersex version of Richard III during the tumultuous Wars of the Roses period in English history.
Is the portrayal of the people of the times accurate? Maybe...
Are the religious references a bit extreme and dramatic compared to today's standards? Yeah...
Should it be categorised as a historical/seinen/BL/romance? Definitely...
This story fuelled me with passion, anger, irritation and a bit of cringe. Reading their dialogue sometimes hurts my borderline dyslexic brain to the point where reading through one volume would take me several days. But was it worth it? Hell yeah!
This is my first ever manga series that i have completed. With that i mean i have bought and read all the volumes and that gives me some sense of pride. Could also just be dopamine.
However i feel like i have the freedom and authority to write and do as many deep dives as i want. I could continue to write blogs about the characters (not that i ever plan any of these blogs) and definitely write about more shows leaning into this old English aesthetic drama. I'm talking manga's like black butler, Moriarty the patriot and even vanitas no carte.
With that being said. Reqiem of the rose king is a great read. And if you like a bit of history/romance/fantasy then you'll enjoy this read.

The tragedy of jotaro Cujo
Tumblr media
Welcome the introduction of my unplanned, unscripted and rather messy series where i discuss my opinions on jojo characters, themes and a little bit of psychology
I will be discussing Jotaro throughout parts 3 to 6 so that i can hopefully start a discussion that dives a bit more into his character.
_____________________________
Part 3: Stardust crusaders
From the very beginning of stardust crusaders jotaro has been confronted with the act of having to make choices.
But what does it actually mean to choose?
The psychology of choice explores why we subconsciously make the decisions we do, what motivates those decisions, and what needs these decisions are meant to satisfy.
As the story of stardust crusaders begins we quickly discover the existence of stands. What they are and how they work. All explained by Joseph. A former protagonist who now plays a supporting role.
With this explanation Araki creates a new power system that later devolopes further as we continue the series.
My guess is that the former power system was already rather broad, had limited creativity when compared to some of the complex stand abilities in later parts but most importantly and overlooked: to obtain Hamon you have to go through immense training. Stand abilities are either inherited (joestar bloodline) or given (the arrow, or disc)
Jotaro's first reaction to his stand ability is confusion and fear. Before Joseph came to explain to him what it actually was, Jotaro was locked away in juvie.
he states: "i'm being possessed by a ghost, i will not leave this cell until it goes away" This translates his fear and a bit of his imagination since in the manga it is implied that he does believe in occult stuff.
He doesn't know that a stand is a solidification of your fighting spirit. Which is literally jour subconscious trying to project you but then solidified.
Absence
I feel like jotaro uses isolation as a way to protect those around him when he's unsure of a situation.
This action reoccurred in later parts.
His motivation
Because Jotaro IS a hero his motivation mainly comes from protecting others. This is why Araki uses his mother becoming ill as a driving plot point to excuse jotaro's character. Personally i think that Araki doesn't explain his motivations enough in the story.
Focussing on Jotaro's progression. Rather on the how he defeats Dio than why he has te defeat Dio. Causing It to go over a lot of people's head.
Explaining why someone is doing something isn't enough. They have to be convincing in their actions and their thoughts. A few moments where jotaro thinks about his mother during his fights and what he is fighting for would have brought some more emotions than betting her soul during a poker game.
What should Joraro have done?
Every choice jotaro had made throughout his battles with stand users on his way to and in egypt has been made with precise calculations, and sometimes a bit of luck resulting in his victory in every episode. Because of jotaro's continued winning streak. He became more like a caricature than a person. This is the exact reason why a lot of the fans label him as unemotional.
He definitely has more expression in the manga.
Tumblr media
The anime still fails to convey the fact that jotaro is in fact a 17 year old high schooler trying to save his mom from an illness he knows nothing about.
part 6: Absence.
Meaning: The state of being away from a place or person.
In the beginning of part 3 he locks himself away from his peers and his mother because of his stand ability. He continue's to run away from potential damage to his family in later parts by leaving Jolyne in the dark about everything that has to do with stands and stand abilities in attempt to protect her. We all live our lives and make choices based on that what is best for ourselves and our family.
In Jotaro's case all he's ever lived for is making choices to solve problems he did not create.
Why did Araki make him like this?
If you compare Jotaro with others like Giorno or Jolyne you can see that they are characters that don't just react on their environment but they make choices to prolong the story.
What makes Jotaro so tragic is that at the the story begins and ends with him. He chose his daughter over the universe. He contradicted his usual logical strategic way of thinking because he had a weakness. And that was his love for Jolyne.

I'm not saying that even though I dread the feeling of romance i do think about how nice it would be to watch the sunset on a blanket on the beach while being fed fruits by my significant other after we have signed our nikkah and cuddle until late in the night and go for a late night drive after words and fall asleep together tired after a long day of ignoring phone calls and only paying attention to each other ..... but that's exactly what I'm saying

I think after 19 years I see the appeal in enemies to lovers. Don't get me wrong I always loved that trope. I always wanted to write a good story that has that trope, however i felt like my lack of experience would make me feel like I'm an imposter. But I've got it now! There is a man in my life who i absolutely despise but i do think he's good looking. So I'll channel any of those feelings into my writing .

Benedict Bridgerton
Tumblr media
Benedict bridgeton short character analysis
I the first season we get to see his admiration for art and I like how he tries to find interest regardless of his title or duties.
In season one he was rather insecure of his skills and his abilities but despite all that he kept trying and he chose to pursue his intrest instead of wondering if he could do it. Although he discovers near the end of the season that it was his brother who donated a large amount of money to the school which allowed him to be accepted, he still persisted regardless. You can really see a great improvement in character.
I also like his playfulness and lighthearted character. Unlike his older brother who is rather serious and a perfectionist, or his younger brother Colin who is much focused on self discovery. Although i will say, he showed a rather mature side near the end of the season.
Benedict has always been in between the two. He's not too serious yet he's also not too immature he's right in the middle.
The thing about his character and why it's such a good addition to the cast is that he makes the most serious moments funny and he's actually one of the few who comment on Anthony's personality flaws.
And might i say that even the actor him self is easy on the eyes as well. Because every time he smiles I can't help bit think to myself what a fine young man he is.
I hope to see more of him in the next season and maybe a proper love interest because he really deserves to find someone who matches his personality.
